The Truth is in the Cards?
She had done her first readings the night before so she didn't feel nervous anymore and that was good. Tarot readings were something best done in a carefree open environment where no one felt any outside pressure. It was a way to steady the mind, to narrow the thinking and really focus on a problem or issue at hand. It wasn't a time for stress and so Alina threw that out.Name: @Opeila Winters
House: Slytherin
Year: Second
Type of Reading Requested: The Success Spread
Today, her first meeting was with Opelia Winters, a fellow Second Year student but one she hadn't come into contact with before. The girl had requested the Success Spread and it was one that Alina was quite familiar with as she worked that one out on herself quite regularly.
Before the session started, she checked to make sure everything was set up the way she had it before, the hanging fabric to give the bohemian feel, the lighted candles to promote calmness. She then headed out to the hall to greet her client. "Opelia Winters?" she asked with a bright smile and motioned the girl into the classroom. Her green eyes seemed to pale in comparison with Opelia's but she didn't take it in jealousy, only fascination.
"Welcome to the First Annual Tarot Card Readings by Alina. I'm Alina, Alina Rosier. Please sign at the bottom," she said, exactly as she had done in her meetings the day prior.

"You're welcome to some tea or lemonade and some pastries or candy," she said of the small table that was laid out with all things delicious. "When you're ready, we will begin."
And just as before she went and sat down on the middle of the floor. There were blankets and pillows and other items so that her client felt comfortable and at ease. She began to shuffle the deck of cards in her hands.
Let your confidence shine, pretty girl.

The Truth is in the Cards?
@Alina Rosier
Opeila was early. And nervous. The future was no unfamiliar topic to the young seer and when she heard of the Hufflepuff doing tarot card readings, she just couldn't resist. How could she, if there was the chance, that after her grandmother's death, she would get the chance to speak with a seer again? Yes, Tyranni Whitethorn was a seer, Opeila knew that, but it was different. Tyranni seemed unexperienced just like herself, and if Alina Rosier did tarot card readings... It was worth a test, right?
Soon Alina entered the hall and asked for Opelia Winters. A mistake that happened often, by now the Slytherin reacted to everything that was somewhat close to the right version. "OpeILa, yes, that would be me.", she said and sent her a smile. Alina motioned her into the classroom and asked her to sign a form.
It seemed that Alina had made some effort to make a cosy atmosphere. There were blankets and pillows on the floor and some snacks and drinks on a small table. "Alright then...", she said and looked at the form. No guarantee, don't make irrational decisions based on the cards... Summed it up, it pretty much said 'Don't be stupid and don't blame me if the cards don't work.' Well. that was a clever thing to do, after her first year, Opeila was quite sure that there were some crazy people who would act like they got a sign from god with this reading. Opeila signed.
Alina offered her to take a drink and a snack from the table, while she sat down on the floor and shuffled the cards. "Thank you..." Opeila grabbed a glass of lemonade and a pastry before she joined Alina on the floor. Watching her shuffling the cards, she she nibbled on her pastry. "You uh... ever did that before? I mean like... Did it work before?", she asked the Hufflepuff.

Interacting with @Opeila Winters
"I look to the cards often," she admitted and felt a little silly for doing so because some people thought it was nonsense. Then again, if she thought it was complete nonsense she wouldn't be there right now. That made Alina feel a little better.
"They're good for guidance. Even if you don't like what they say, it helps you find your viewpoint on something. They help you sort out your feelings and thoughts and see things clearer. I learned when I was little. My father bought me a pack and taught me about them. He's been buying me packs ever since." Alina had suspicion that her father must have it as a hobby or at least had favored Divination during his time at Hogwarts. Not that she could ask him though.
"Okay, the Success Spread," she smiled to the girl not wanting to think about her father. So many years he played the absentee parent when she had no one else to depend on to only make up for it in one Summer and be the amazing guy she learned he was - and then vanish one night, never to be seen or written from since.
"You'll choose one card at a time to hand to me," she said and looked to make sure the cards were laid out so each one could be seen, at least partially. As she was handed the cards, she placed three in a row in front of her, and then one above, and one below.

Now it was time to interpret them for the Slytherin. Alina pointed to the middle one that she had laid down first. "This is the Seven of Coins and it is saying that you need to be patient in the work that you're doing, that you can't be thinking of end results just yet and need to still lay out plans."
She moved to the next one. "This is The Hermit and this card often appears when we need alone time to think. Maybe you'll be most successful right now in working alone rather than with group projects or friends."
"This one is the Queen of Wands and there might be someone older with light hair that's given you issues, throwing up obstacles. Don't get frustrated about it, just show them why you're doing the things you're doing. You'll be successful if you do this."
Alina smiled, knowing that last one was rather silly but hey! It was in the cards!
"The Ace of Swords," she said of the card closest to the Slytherin, "when reversed can mean you are close to having a major misunderstanding about something. Don't make any sudden decisions and try to think about things from others perspectives. Be practical and realistic and think things through carefully."
And the last card was closest to Alina. "The reversed Page of Swords indicates you may soon be dealing with some unexpected conflict or be given a message you weren't expected. Neither is necessarily a bad thing, but take a few minutes to think before you respond."
All in all....it wasn't really the most positive of readings. It foreshadowed that perhaps a change was coming Ophelia's way and it was going to take some getting used to. "Well...that's what the cards have to say," Alina said as she looked back down at them. Sure, no one had to take the words, but thats what the interpretation stated.
Let your confidence shine, pretty girl.

The Truth is in the Cards?
@Alina Rosier
Opeila listened interested, when the girl told her, that she looked at the cards often. "Is your father like... a seer? Like with the gene and all?", she asked carefully. She really wanted to know that, maybe Alina was like her! It would be nice to meet some more people to share their experiences with.
Alina started, telling Opeila to hand her one card at a time. The Slytherin did what she said, a weird, almost nervous feeling in her stomach. It was alright. She deliberately chose the spread that had the smallest chance of triggering her.
Her future was highly unclear, Opeila knew that. There were too many things her whole existence depended on.
It was possible that she just allowed the girl to look at her future. And with that her past as well, Opeila realized. Maybe this experiment was a huge mistake.
Alina read the cards. The first one said she had to be patient with what she was doing. Yes. That was very true. Wasn't she right now just waiting out, scared of getting messages, unaware of what was happening to her father? Opeila had to live her life, not knowing if she would survive the year. She was in the greatest need of patience right now.
She needed to work alone. She knew it. Opeila should have followed her first instinct and separated herself from her friends. If she was only strong enough to fight all this alone...
Her fingers were tightly knotted together, Alina had her full attention now. Was this one of those spreads that were pretty much applicable on anyone? Or could there actually be some truth in the cards?
A massive misunderstanding. A major conflict. How could she take anymore? How would she move on, how would she be able to carry anymore than she was carrying right now?
Opeila's eyes moved fromt the right to the left, directed to the floor, trying to process the results she got.
"But... But what does that mean? What message? What misunderstanding?", she asked in an almost scared tone.

Alina nodded. "He is," she said softly, knowing that was how he had been so successful with all his business ventures because he knew what would make it and what wouldn't. Perhaps that wasn't the correct way for a seer to use their ability for personal gain but it helped out others along the way with their own businesses. It wasn't like gambling where there was a winner and a loser.
"Sadly though, I didn't inherit it. He taught me to read the cards as a way to sort of bond and I know them well but...I can't really interpret them as far as you'd maybe like," and she felt sorry for that because the Slytherin before her seemed to really want to know answers to certain questions she had.
"I can only offer advice to the best of my knowledge," and she wasn't good for much else. She hoped that the girl wouldn't be upset with her. Sometimes tarot readings helped one organize and sort out their thinking on a certain subject and sometimes they just caused more questions to come about. She hoped she hadn't confused the girl more.
"If there's anything you think I can help with, it can stay here just between us." She wasn't some blabbermouth or anything around the castle.
Let your confidence shine, pretty girl.

The Truth is in the Cards?
@Alina Rosier
Opeila's eyes lit up when Alina confirmed what Opeila had already considered a possibility when she signed up for her offer. Her father was a seer. "And he knows how to use his powers, can he control it?", she asked the Hufflepuff. Her main reason for signing up now probably turned very obvious, but Opeila didn't really care. Would she maybe after all find someone who could help her?
And then Alina said she didn't inherit the gene. Sadly. More or less sadly, Opeila found, the gene could be quite a pain at times, especially when she couldn't control it. When she was just knocked over almost, by pictures she didn't expect nor understood. In a moment where she needed to focus on something else.
And the very worst it was, when someone around her didn't know what went on and decided to just interrupt it. For Opeila this resulted in walking around for a few more days, wondering if she missed anything important.
Alina offered Opeila her help, catching her off guard a little. "I just... I can't tell you. Even if I wanted to. Just... There have been too many unexpected messages and terrible events for me since last summer. I dread another.", she admitted, nervously sipping her lemonade. "My life at home is only with people with light hair, who now have control over me. Who will have control over me even when I turn 17." Obstacles.
Opeila, despite not being a pureblood herself, was very aware what that looked like, especially now, where she lived amongst them. As the ward of a pureblood family, who she would owe a great debt. They used her family before, for a political favour, that in the end allowed Lady Margary to save Opeila. To send her off to magical protection she could no longer provide.
Opeila knew that arranged marriages were nothing strange in some families and while Opeila was no pureblood, she carried a valuable and rare gene, that would skip one generation and then be inherited by a female, like always.
Opeila had dreaded that this might be the debt she would in the end have to pay... She was only 12 and there was no proof for that fear of hers, but it made way too much sense for her.
"Will I ever be free again? Is that something the cards can tell?", she asked, looking down at them.
