[quote]A young boy was running through the manor, his bare feet produced a small sound resonated through the empty living room; just a faint noise swallowed by the high walls of the house. His arms out-stretched the child was running around, lips pursed as he imitated a plane. He usually never played stuff like that, but earlier he could see a big plane in the sky, heading somewhere the young boy had no idea about. His parents also weren't here to tell him that this was not a way the heir of a company should act. So he could just do it, just being free for a moment, while his father was upstairs in another part of the building, doing work. He sometimes made the young boy sit next to him while he worked, so that he got used to sitting around quiet. He made the boy read out words the young boy never heard and told him rules he would have to follow when he was older. The five year old boy would sit next to him on a pillowed chair, keeping his mouth shut unless he was asked a question, because his father needed to concentrate. Often he would do homeworks that he received by a private tutor and he would not throw a tantrum, because that wasn't what his parents expected him to do.

But now for this moment, the young boy felt free, as he bent his upper body into the direction he was heading, like a plane flying through the air, while he tried to imitate the sound a plane would probably make. He didn't travel in a while and if he did it usually was not to be seen as a vacation. It usually was, because his father had some business to do in another country which happened frequently. It was because his father had an important job and one day he would take this job and be the boss. He would be all smart and adult and that is what he needed to learn for, to be as good as his father wanted him to be and as fast as he possibly could manage.

Something catched his attention, making him stop dead in his track as he looked at the commode made from mahagoni wood, it looked pretty but that was not important. Biting his lips the young child glanced around in the living room, as if to make sure he was alone and that neither his mother nor his father would see him. He could see neither of them, his father must be still upstairs while his mother was out with her friends. Gnawing on his lower lip the ginger haired boy cautiously took his firsts step into the direction of the commode, his feet on the floor was the only thing the young boy heard, that and the ticking from the big clock that hung over the door. Another few steps and he stood in front of the forbidden place. His nose barely reached the edge of the commode as he peeked on top of it and saw what he was looking for. His father's watch. He always placed it there and when he did, the five year old was not allowed near it.

Again he peeked around, before pushing himself onto the tip of his toes as he reached out for the watch. His small fingers barely brushing the cold metal when he could hear the sound of someone coming down the stairs. As if he burned himself he pulled back his hand, but his long sleeve of the whit button up shirt ripped the watch from the commode. The next thing he could hear was the sound of metall landing on tiles and the cracking of glass. But what he heard then and what made his blood run cold was the sound of quickening footsteps heading in his direction. Panic filled the blue eyes as he bend down and picked up the broken watch as he run away from the place of the accident.

He could feel the cold glare before he saw it, as he hid the precious and very expensive watch behind his back, trying his best to hide it from view. After the glare lingered on him for a while his father must have looked around the room and saw his watch missing, because the temperature in the room must have dropped by thousand degrees. The young boy's lingered on the ground, he did not want to raise his gaze, afraid of the cold anger he would see in his father's eyes. Unshed tears made his eyes burn as he could feel his father coming closer. He knew. He knew! Small tremors went through the child's body as he could practically feel the tension in the room.

"Show me what is behind your back, Thurston. That's an order.", he could hear. Was the voice of his father always this cold? Was his presence always this intimidating? The young boy choked back a sob and shook his head, his grip tightening on the broken clock, the broken glass caused a small wound on his palm, but he still did not budge.

"Don't make me count, boy.", it was a threat. It sounded like one, but his father never counted. He never did, he would just be angry. Again the young boy shook his head, trying to stumble back a few steps. His father would be so mad if he saw the broken watch. He would probably send to his room and have to do many chores and he would not be able to do much. He would double his private lessons and make him learn more.

The watch was broken and his father couldn't see. He could not. His fingers tingled, but that was not important. Wildly the young child shook his head, making the short strands of his hair fly around wildly. But then he heard the words. "Enough! You're not a child!" he shouted angrily and grabbed Thurston by the arm. He pulled it forward, making the young boy yelp in surprise and panic. Nhe tried to pull away but his father opened his fist and take away the watch. Panic rising in the boy he already prepared for the scolding of his life, swearing himself to never touch anything that does not belong to him ever again.

But the tantrum of his father never came. Just a:"Never touch my stuff again and now go to your room!". Why? The young boy opened his eyes and catched a glimpse on a perfectly fine watch. How? How was that possible? He even had the trickle of blood that run down his palm as a proof that the watch broke. How was it fine?

"Do I need to repeat myself? GO!", his father shouted, getting impatient as he gave the five year old a not quite gentle shove that made him stumble forward. He did not need to be told twice and quickly run through the corridors to his room. He pushed the door close with a big bang and slid down behind it, staring at his hand in astonishment, while also calming down from the shock he just went through.
