The Uninvited Guests
It was a quiet night on the Gray estate as Percival sat in his room studying, trying to increase his knowledge on the Gargoyle uprising of 1911. The whole event was a disaster for the pesky Gargoyles, who went up against something they couldn't handle. Ultimately, they would all get wiped out for their cause. They may have been right to stand up for better treatment, but it didn't mean it was stupid to act on it in the first place. Percy sat back in his comfy chair after writing a few paragraphs of writing with his quill, a deep breath coming from his mouth as he placed the feather back into the ink holder. In his mind, something seemed off. The house was awfully silent considering it was dinner time. You would normally be able to hear the staff walking up and down the hallway beside his room, but that didn't seem to be the case today.
Percy slowly got out of his seat and picked up his wand off the desk, placing it in his pocket for now while he reached the door. He peaked his head outside and quickly noted that the corridor was deserted, other than a faint noise in the direction of his fathers office. His parents were not home right now that's a fact, maybe it was someone cleaning a room. Loud creaking noises were evident as he made his way down the hallway, past the vintage paintings that stared at him when he walked past. His father usually kept the door locked to prevent anyone from coming in, although that would soon not be the case.
The shuffling of objects inside almost felt like their was a wild animal causing havoc. Whoever it was, they were not meant to be in there under any circumstances. He pulled out his wand and shuffled into the doorway, gazing at the person looking at the desk with his back turned to him. His clothing was mostly dark and his face was covered by a hood, something that a normal person wouldn't choose as their first choice of clothing "I don't think you belong here..." Percy said over to him with a raise of his wand, eyes fixed on the man in dark clothing. The figure stopped his search and slightly looked to the left, face still covered by the hood that masked him "And you don't belong in this situation, kid" answered the man in a muffled accent, making it hard to hear his voice all together. However, before Percy could even reply a hand fell on his shoulder and something that felt like a wand pressed into his back.
"Now I'd lower that wand like a good boy" said the voice behind him, his hand slightly pushing him forwards into the room. Percy slowly lowered his wand and let it drop to the floor, allowing it to roll behind him towards the intruder. His buddy turned to face him, a chuckle coming from his masked face that only showed his lips and eyes "Well well, it looks like a little brat has fell through the cracks" he said down to him before looking back to his partner "The staff are still taken care of, correct?" questioned the man, almost as if he was putting on an accent "The last time I checked the boys had thrown them in that giant freezer" he said with a chuckle of his own as he took the wand away from Percy's back, pushing him closer to his buddy who grabbed him by his sweater "He will be better with you while I check on the lads, hell, he might even know where the folder is" grunted the man as he turned and exited the room in a hurry, leaving the two alone for now.
His grip on the top of his sweater tightened as Percy looked up to him coldly, surprisingly calm in such a stressful situation. The guy looked down to the boy once more, his gaze meeting his this time "We know you live here kid, and i'm damn sure you know where your father keeps his files. So why don't you fess up before things get a bit more serious..." his mouth released, a more threating tone showing through this time. Suddenly, something that looked like a body flew past the doorway and rolled across the floor, a small crash soon been heard as his body crashed into a small antique table "What in..." was the only words he could mutter before a figure dressed in a posh suit snapped to the right of the doorway and shouted "Expelliarmus!" at the top of his lungs. The masked man had no chance as he let go of the boy and went flying backwards into the desk chair, his body falling in a heap beside the half broken chair.
Even Percy was surprised as he looked to his saviour, which was somewhat of a surprise in itself. It was Axel Pineneedle, the family butler. He was young for a butler, probably around the age of 20-25 years if you looked at him for the first time "Master Percival! are you alright?!" he said worryingly as he walked over to his young master, a wand still being gripped tightly in his right hand "I am now, thanks Axel" sighed Percy as he slowly began to fix his sweater that was rudely made untidy by the man. How these guys got in or even found their home was a mystery, but knowing his father he will surely get something out of them "Very good sir, I also managed to help the other staff break free from the cell known as the freezer..." the native Swedishman said proudly while walking to the downed intruder and giving him an extra kick in the stomach for his miss deeds. For a butler, Axel had managed to handle himself well, especially against four intruders "How did you even manage to take them all down?" questioned Percival as he finished cleaning himself to pick up his wand. Axel turned his head and smiled slightly, surprised himself by the feat he just pulled "Luck and skill really. Let's just say I arrived unusually late and used my years of dueling practice to my advantage" smirked the servant, who didn't want to show off to much in front of his master. Percy replied with a small smirk of his own, kinda relived that Axel had come late for once "No wonder my father hired you..."
