Backpack Debate 2.0
@Cassandra Ironwoods & @Wyatt StarkeyDate: July 20th
Lovely, wasn't it? When your mom finally decides speaks to you it to tell you your betrothed. Alec knew this kind of thing was common among tons of pureblood families around the world. He sort of just thought he could get out of it since his parents weren't really doing the whole big fancy manor thing either. Although they'd made it clear they were just as typical as any other pureblood family. Alec well he thought his parents were a bit more modern than this though. What was even more unfair was that Nina didn't have to have one. They said something about Alec being the only boy they had and carrying on the family line and stuff. Truth be told, it made Alec pretty upset. Wasn't there something to do with being the oldest too that went into the matter? Apparently not. Maybe his fiancee would at least be cute? Not like Alec had fancied or girl or well anyone before, but that was worth something right? I mean, Alec had done all he could, anyway. He'd outlined talking points, wanting to start up a sort of debate with his parents on the matter.(not like they were actually going to listen) But a lot of effort was still there, even if it was all in vain. He'd also debated the option of acting like a total arse to his fiancee he was gonna base the whole being an arse thing of how Wyatt first acted when they met and go from there it was truly the best way to be the most mean and rude person well.. probably. But ultimately he'd decided against it, not wanting to upset his fiancee's parents. Or his own. Or Wyatt. Parents and Wyatt can be very scary when they're upset, so the last thing Alec needed to do was upset them. Or get on his mom's bad side. It was not pretty. Besides all that if worse came to worse it did end up saving him time on the whole love life thing.. "Alec! Hurry up their going to be here soon!" His mother yelled from downstairs. Alec was up in his room. "I'll be down in a bit!" Alec said to mostly himself, it's not like his mother could hear him unless he yelled back, anyway. Alec was just finishing up a sketch.. Of Wyatt. It was a sketch of the night they'd sneaked out of the house. It was when they were walking back, with the odd snake following Wyatt. Alec may have exaggerated a few details on the sketch such as the breeze, but overall it was mostly the same. All he was doing right now was coloring it in with colored pencils, trying to sort of blend the colors.Alec figured he could finish it up within fifteen minutes, leave it on Wyatt's bed, then head downstairs. And that's what he did it was just as boring of fifteen minutes as it sounded. Once the sketch had been left on Wyatt's bed Alec practically ran down the stairs where his mother was waiting for him. She tutted a bit. "Alec, your clothes are all wrinkled now" She said. "It's fine, see?" Alec said trying to flatten out the wrinkles in his clothes his hair falling into his eyes. Before his mother sighed, giving up and letting him walk past her. Alec walked into the dining room and to his immediate surprise his fiancee and their family were already here. Ah, backpack person. What a lovely surprise..

"Welcome back, Miss Ironwoods"Barclay, the Ironwoods chauffeur greet the young Serpent girl. The mid forty-ish man, open the town car door for Cash. "I take your Summer Camp pleasant?"The driver inquires Cash after loading the Slytherin trunk into the car trunk. Cash slide in into the back seat car and nodded.
To be honest Cash feel tired. They just want to go back to the Ironwoods Manor but then they remember today they need to be somewhere else. "Everything that you need on the bag, Miss Ironwoods"Barclay inform Cash. Cash open the paper bag and examine the garment that they hold on their hand. At least their mother consider to pick something that Cash less hate.
Cash change quickly. They style their shoulder length hair into a need bun and yawn. "You may take a nap if you want to. The drive a bit long"Barclay said. "How long?"Cash asks the chauffeur. "It is about two and half hours, Miss"Barclay provides. Cash widen their eyes and groan. "Alright then, wake me up when we get there"Cash told Barclay. Barclay nodded their head and Cash close their eyes
****
The gentle shake woke the purple dyed hair girl. Barclay inform that their mother already inside. They put on their shoes and walk to the unknown house. Cash politely knock on the door and Cash could assume the owner of the house that greet them. After Cash being welcome in by the owner of the house, they saw their mother.
"What is this, mother?"Cash inquire their mom. All Cash know that their mother asking them to travel to Bristol after they got back from their Summer Camp. Cash mom smoothes the article that Cash wear even though there no wrinkle on the said attire. Then the owner of the house shout about something or maybe to someone.
Cash could not hear it from where they are. Some time later a familiar boy bound to the dining room where Cash and their mother situated. "You?"Cash expressed in shock tone. Cash then look at their mom. "Qué intentas hacer aquí, mamá? (what are you trying to do here, mom?)"The young Serpent girl enquires their mother.
Cash did not like whatever the situation right now for one bit. "Cash, meet Alec Mason. your fiance"Their mom explain Cash calmly. "What? No! I am twelve for Merlin sake's, mom!"Cash loudly protest and stood up from where they seated. "Phoenix Cassandra Ironwoods, Es suficiente! (that's enough)"The stern tone of their mother make Cash gritted their jaw.
They know if and when their mom called them by their full name, they about to get into trouble if they did not comply. Cash take a deep breath, calm themselves down and sit on the chair again. "Sorry about that"Cash said to Alec and his mom. Still a bit annoyed with the news that their mom break. Cash shake their head with disbelieve with the situation they are in.

Wyatt wasn’t feeling so great that morning. He hadn’t heard from Perseus since the night of the “sneak out”. Wyatt knew it was his fault. The Slytherin had told his best friend to go away, which felt right in the moment. That snake was being quite obnoxious, and he wouldn’t stop chasing after Wyatt, almost blowing his cover. Needless to say he was stressed out about the whole thing. Perseus was his only friend, and now he wasn’t coming back. It’s all my fault, Wyatt thought.
There was a lot of noise coming from around the house that morning. It began with the sounds of shoes thumping all around the room, some shouting, feet jumping downstairs, and finally the creak of that last stair. In the middle of all that, though, there was a pause. And all that you could hear was the sounds of a pencil on paper. Of course, Wyatt pretended to be asleep through all this. When everything calmed down and there wasn’t a lot of noise anymore, Wyatt officially woke up and tossed the covers off of himself.
He had started to form a daily routine at the Mason’s. By the sixth day, it only seemed reasonable to have something of a routine. Wake up, get dressed, brush teeth, make bed. It was a very, very simple routine, sure, but it made sense and it was easy to follow every day. Wyatt chose a shirt and a pair of jeans at random and went to change in the bathroom, where he also brushed his teeth. As he left the bathroom, he hung back in the hall and listened to the conversation people were having downstairs.
So that’s what all that fuss was about, he thought. Apparently, the Masons were having people over. Wyatt assumed it was for some kind of tea thing. (He still didn’t exactly understand Elevenses, high tea, etc.) As he listened more, he’d hear what sounded like a “posh laugh” every now and then. Like a ha-ha after a rich person’s unfunny joke or comment. It hit him then, he’d only heard posh laughs on the telly. And now he was hearing them in real life. The Masons were a strange bunch of people.
Slowly, Wyatt walked down the stairs, and he avoided that last step. He’d heard it every day for the last six days and it was getting very annoying. He took a few more steps forward and noticed a few strange details. Alec was dressed up all fancy, and there was some kid there. Wyatt felt like he’d seen them before but he couldn’t really put a name to them. Alec looked thoroughly unenthused to be there at all. Wyatt didn’t really look at the other kid, they didn’t matter much to him right now.
Wyatt stepped closer, trying to make his footsteps louder than the voices, so he could get their attention. When no one noticed him, he cleared his throat, and that got their attention. He clasped his hands behind his back. “Hello. I’m Wyatt Starkey, I’m staying here for the summer,” he began. He was going to go on about why, but felt a lump in his throat and knew if he said a word of his mother, he’d cry. “What is going on, if I may ask?” Wyatt asked his question slowly, in a polite manner (as he was taught to act around adults).
He didn’t know if it was his place to join this conversation, but he was very curious about the whole thing. His knees felt quite cold, and he remembered he was wearing ripped jeans while all these posh people were dressed up. Even though he had good posture and spoke like an upper-class kid, he was slightly embarrassed. The good posture and the way he spoke didn’t hide the fact his jeans were quite small on him, and the shirt was too big. It wasn’t a secret he didn’t belong with these people.
The Snake straightened his legs, even more, hoping it would close up the rips of his light blue jeans. It didn’t work. The jeans made him think about his shoes, which were probably ten times as old as the pants, or at least ten times as old looking. Wyatt didn't see the point in getting new shoes if they still worked. If he ever told his mom that he needed new clothes, she would get them for him, but she'd work quadruple shifts, and he didn't want her to do that. He would never ask something like that of her.
As he thought, he tapped his foot anxiously.

Backpack Debate 2.0
@Wyatt Starkey@Cassandra IronwoodsWithin minutes of being in the room. Things happened. Although what had Alec expected? But Alec understood how backpack person(Look's like Cash has a new nickname) felt it was reasonable to react in such away. Even if it was not proper in the sort of setting. "It's fine. I understand" Alec gave them a look of sympathy. "And reacted that way too" Alec whispered. And am going to find a way out of this. But this act.. Of sympathy seemed to off put his mother. Her smile wasn't faked.. She was actually happy right now.. Seems she hadn't heard Alec's small comment. Time felt as if it was going in slow motion. She cared about this.. A lot.. Who was Alec to go and reject it and hurt his mother's genuine feeling of happiness? Only someone heartless would do such a thing. Or someone who didn't know his mom well enough to know almost every smile of hers was faked.Alec's gaze quickly shifted off the family and his mother to Wyatt. "It seems I'm betrothed.." Alec said. Giving Wyatt an awkward smile. The least he could do was pretend to be happy for the sake of his mom. And even if it's being heartless Alec hoped that she or his father gets into an argument with one of the other parents tonight. And they decided to call it all off. Either way Wyatt had clearly gotten his answer now. Whether or not he would have preferred to hear it or not was a whole another thing.Alec's focus the shifted back to backpack person. He knew their real name. He just thought it was sort of funny. Even if the backpack debate left him clueless and confused very confused. He and Clifton (Clifton Troublefield a friend of Alec's) had gotten into a backpack and satchel debate later on about it. And apparently according to Clifton's logic, backpacks were much better. Which only made Alec more confused. Why don't more people in the wizarding world use them then? He'd also later found out it was a pride thing. Pureblood Witches and Wizards not accepting to use muggle things because it was like they were deeming their magic inefficient.Darn magic folks and having too much pride in being one. Maybe having a backpack would be nice! But now Alec would never know. Well, actually Alec would 'never know' a lot of things. This was just one of the many. Like why people made that muggle song 'Baby shark' and why it got stuck in your head for weeks.

"It seems I'm betrothed…"
Wyatt blinked a few times. He wasn’t expecting this. Alec was twelve for Merlin’s sake! How could his mother be doing this now! This wasn’t fair at all- for Alec, of course! Wyatt felt sick, he didn’t know why. His stomach was doing backflips with butterflies inside. Was this some pure-blood thing that every pure-blood did? Wyatt remembered his mother talking about how his grandparents arranged for his uncle to get married around the time Wyatt was born. But his uncle was 21 then, not 12! This was just strange!
Though Wyatt was freaking out without even knowing why, his face told a different story. He’d thought, what would Wyatt do in this situation, and wore an evil smirk. Wyatt’s eyes were cool and dark. You’d never see the panic behind them. “Well, congratulations,” he purred. It was easy to tell that Alec was definitely angry about the whole thing, but even more confused. Well, now, this kid was important to Wyatt. He turned his head to look at them. Now, he remembered them, only a little.
He didn’t know much about them, but they were a Slytherin. They were dressed up just as fancy as the rest of the people with them were. Of course, this made Wyatt feel even more self-conscious and out of place among all these rich, snotty pure-bloods. Now, Wyatt looked to Alec’s mother. Mrs. Mason seemed like she was the happiest person in the world, which was slightly unsettling. She was usually twice as cold as Wyatt, and now she seemed thrilled… to be pairing Alec and this random Slytherin together.
Wyatt forgot about his dead giveaway. Even though his face wore a cold, collected expression, his foot was tapping quietly at a rapid pace, and it was only picking up speed. It would seem Wyatt didn’t even know it was happening. His hands were clasped behind his back, but he was twiddling his thumbs restlessly. The Snake was convincing himself he was angry for Alec’s sake, and not his own. That Alec shouldn't be married off because it wasn't fair for the Gryffindor. But it was rare that Wyatt did something for someone else’s sake.
His grin melted into the emotionless façade once more.

After Cash earlier outburst, their mom said apology to Alec's Mom. Cash's mother glared at them to behave. Cash begrudgingly did what their mother wished. Then another voice enter the room. "Hello. I’m Wyatt Starkey, I’m staying here for the summer,"The other boy greet the people in the dinning room.
Cash narrow their eyes to look at the boy. They felt like they seen the boy somewhere but could not pinpoint exactly when. Wyatt (now Cash knew the boy name) asked what is going on. Cash about to open their mouth, ready for another angry outburst but this time they will do it with subtlety. Alec told the boy that now both of them are in some kind of engagement.
They can hear their mother and Alec's mom getting along. This only put more sour mood to the already exhausted Serpent. Alec then said it is fine, that he understand and completely okay to reacted that way. "How could you possibly be okay with this?"Cash said in hissing tone. Their anger ready to burst with so much going on right now.
"This is ridiculous and you know it"Cash glare at the Gryffindor. Cash did not know what their mother angle is, well to be exact this is what their father doing. Their parents knew what Cash sexual identity is but the pride in one Lavi Ironwoods blinded that. Their father once mention being what Cash is, is a abomination.
Their mother eyeing the youngsters from where she is. Their mom nodded her head with understanding when green eyes meet brown ones of their mother. Cash sigh at that. There nothing Cash could do now except to get along hoping in the future all this absurd situation being called off (which by Alec mom reaction is unlikely).
The rapid tapping of Wyatt's foot annoyed Cash albeit the boy done it quietly. "Would you stop that?"The purple hair girl said it through gritted teeth. "It annoyed me"Cash stated. Cash did not mean to lashed out to Wyatt but with the whole thing going on, it make them want to explode.@Alec Mason | @Wyatt Starkey. OOC Note - to Wyatt, please refer Cash with they / them / their pronoun. Thank you

@Cassandra Ironwoods & @Wyatt Starkey Sorry this one was a bit short!Alec had decided to keep quiet for now. Speaking while it was habitual would only make things worse. Out of the many life lessons Alec had learned over his year at Hogwarts, this was an important one. Alec could run his mouth quite a bit. And it tend to get him into trouble. He'd learned that sometimes you just needed to stay quiet and things would work out. Even if you had to endure this. Years from now, this will probably all blow over. It'll be a thing of the past that Alec will most definitely make fun of."How could you possibly be okay with this?" Backpack person practically hissed Alec's way. But Alec was lost in another world completely his own. It happened far too often that most assumed when this happened he was just purposely ignoring them. It was never the case with Alec, though. Ignoring someone in his book was the worst thing anyone could do. Being ignored changes you. Especially if it's by people you care about. Being ignored is one of the worst feelings in the world.. And Alec would never wish it upon anyone. Even those he truly hated."This is ridiculous and you know it" They'd said. It still flew by Alec's ears. He only really caught the , '-ou know it' part. "Would you stop that?" And that's what finally caught Alec's attention. Who? And stop what? Alec's gaze fell to where Backpack person was looking, Wyatt. What had he done to them? He wasn't exactly close to them. "It annoyed me" They stated. Now Alec was more than curious. But for the sake of everything and his mother watching him, one thing was clear. He had to side with someone.. And he knew his mother would prefer it be Backpack person. And another thing.. Alec was going to have to apologize to Wyatt later. Alec took a small breath before shooting a glare Wyatt's way. This was not going to be a good day..

Embarrassed, Wyatt looked down at the foot he didn’t even know he was tapping. He drew it behind his other foot and cleared his throat as he looked back up at Alec’s confused expression. Apparently Alec hadn’t seen or heard Wyatt tapping his foot, so why had that new kid? To hide his annoyance and embarrassment, Wyatt wore a subtle scowl (which was prominent in his cold, jet black eyes) as he glared daggers at the other Slytherin. All Wyatt had was his pride, and in his eyes, this random kid was looking down on him, and he didn’t like that very much. Alec seemed to notice, and he looked worried, to say the least. He stayed quiet (and let the lovebirds do the talking).
Still, Wyatt was confused. Why was Alec’s mom marrying him off? Alec and that kid seemed equally livid about the whole ordeal. If Wyatt would be honest with himself, he would find that he’s just as angry at the absurd situation before him as the two actually involved. But, even if he could be honest with himself, he wouldn’t have a clue why he was this agitated. For some reason, Alec’s fiancé struck Wyatt as suspicious. Maybe it was just his jealousy (that he wouldn’t admit to be experiencing) but the way they so venomously hissed at Alec... Something was off, no? Wyatt continued to twiddle his thumbs behind his back as he thought, staring into space.

Cash, I'm so sorry. I'm a trans guy and I can't imagine being misgendered like that- agh. I'll try really really really hard to keep getting the pronouns right.

Speech that write in blue and in italic are in Parsel
With how their mother laugh and getting along with Alec's mom, make the green eyes girl boiled with suppressed anger. The silent that the young Serpent get from the male Lion also did not help the situation. "Are you seriously going to stand by idly through out this situation?"Cash green eyes burn with anger.
"I mean for Merlin's sake we still young for all this shi- rubbish"Cash catches themselves before the cussing come out from their mouth. Cash then flick their gaze to Wyatt. "Lo siento, I mean I am sorry"They said to Wyatt. "I do not mean to snapped at you. This whole thing just madness"Cash stated to the other boy.
Usually they did not care about other person feeling but Wyatt just there in the 'cross fire' and somehow the purple hair dyed girl feel bad about how they reacted to the boy. Cash gnawed on their bottom lip. A bad habit once or twice that they do when they nervous or stressed out. A habit that their father hate with a passion.
Every time Cash done that, they always get a punishment from that action. The laughter that come out from both the matriarchy figures of the Ironwoods' and the Mason' bring a bile to their throat. They feel like the room getting smaller and the wall getting closer. Cash stands up from where they situated. Their eyes dart all over the place.
"I..uh..I-I-I got to get out from here"Finally they spit out between the stuttering. Without waiting any respond from both of the boys, Cash darts out frantically through the Mason front porch. They know the first sign of panic attack. When they up front, they look on the street that line up with cars that park there.
The lightly breeze of the wind that hit the soon to be second year, calm their inner turmoil a bit. "This is so messed up. How come Mother be okay with this?"Cash whisper to themselves.@Alec Mason @Wyatt Starkey
I want to say I am so sorry that took me a while to reply this thread. Real life stuffs get in the way. I apologize to both of you for the wait.
