Match #1 The Badger Brawl Willow v. May

Gobstones Match between @Willow Anderson and @May Moonstar
𝓐madea finished placing the last touch on the board. Today she would be moderating a Gobstones game between two of the members of the Gobstones club. When she had decided that she should start participating in more school activities now that she was back at Hogwarts, she hadn’t thought that it would involve spearheading the revival of an old club. She wasn’t exactly sure how she had gotten here, yet here she was, ready to moderate the round.

Amadea was nervous. Sure, she wasn’t playing in the round, but if something went wrong, she was the one who had to step in. She was sure that neither of the contestants would stoop so low as to cheat, but honestly, she couldn’t really rule anything out. This was Hogwarts, after all. She made a mental note to add an extra rule to the rulebook of Gobstones: no wands. She didn’t want anyone using magic to enhance their performance during the round; the game would have to be won based purely on one’s knowledge and talent.

Taking a deep breath, Amadea stood, smiling at the two contestants. “Willow Anderson and May Moonstar,” she said. “Welcome to the game of Gobstones! I’ll be moderating the round today and making sure that all of the rules are being followed. I hope you guys have fun and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!” She adjusted her seat and sat back, ready to watch the round. ”May the best person win!” she exclaimed. ”Oh, and I hope you brought a change of clothes, because the loser gets sprayed by a putrid liquid that comes from the Gobstones.” Amadea could only imagine how the students must be feeling now, knowing that one of them was going to get sprayed by putrid liquid; unfortunately, there was not much she could do about it since the Gobstones controlled it, unless she wanted to take the spray for the person (which was not going to happen unless they gave her a very good bribe).

”Let the games begin!” she announced in the best announcer voice she had.

Interacting with @Amadea Campbell @May Moonstar
The more extracurricular activities Willow could get herself involved in the better. From the very beginning she wanted to immerse herself in as much of wizarding culture as she could. It's why she jumped at the opportunity to play Quidditch so early on in her days at Hogwarts. Her family usually played board games at home, so it was another easy connection between her muggle life and her wizard one. It filled her with a familiar warmth.

As she approached she greeted Amadea with a wave and observed the gobstones playing area. Sure, she had read up on the subject before playing but it was different to see it in real life. Nerves were starting to bundle up for her first game. It only got worse when Amadea mentioned that the loser got sprayed with a gross liquid. She definitely did not bring a change of clothes. Willow must've skipped the part about losing in the playbook she read. She didn't plan on losing after all.

Amadea started off the game and Willow gave a courtesy nod to May, "Good luck May!" Willow decided to go for a conscious throw at the start, there was no use being reckles and throwing hard right at the start of the game. She planned to be strategic and careful through the whole match.

Ok, so May was really exited. She didn't know why or how she had signed up for the club, but she was really terrified and the idea of putrid liquid if losing was just absurd. She had buyed a full set of Gobstones, and she was really good at playing Muggle marbles, but she decided to not make expectations. She was too bad at thinking to just...think.

She entered the grounds outdoor club area silently. She then, greeted @Amadea Campbell and Willow Anderson. She had met Willow once, but never actually seen her that much. But she just hoped that she wouldn't be forgetting May somehow. For they had met in the library...and as I written just once.

"Yeah, I guess. Good luck to you too May said, trembling. She looked at her Gobstones, and just knew that she had, if she would lost, she will have to get out of that place immediately.

She looked as Willow made the conscious throw. May was with a frown and was thinking hard which type of throw to do. At last, she decided to do the Catapult throw. We'll, at least she had read over the instructions before playing!

𝓐madea gave both girls a warm smile. They were both fellow Hufflepuffs, though Amadea didn't remember ever interacting with other of them before. Both of them seemed very excited about the Gobstones match, which made Amadea very happy. She was so glad that people were actually interested in playing. When she had discovered there was a wizard version of marbles, she had been ecstatic and was set on revamping the club to allow more people to join. Amadea had been afraid that no one would want to join; she knew many of her peers enjoyed playing wizard chess much more, but alas there were still enough people to make a day full of matches!

This was only the first match of the day, but Amadea was so happy to see that the girls were so enthusiastic about playing. Minus the putrid liquid, gobstones was a great game and enjoyable for everyone involved. She stopped daydreaming as Willow began to prepare for her first throw. While she rolled very accurately and seemed to have a good strategy behind her roll, the strength in which she threw the gobstone was quite off. It rolled into the ring, stopping quite far away from May's gobstone. "That wasn't so bad!" Amadea said encouragingly to the Hufflepuff. In all honesty, it wasn't a terrible roll. She just needed to add a little more strength behind it and she would be all set.

Now it was May's turn. May chose to lob the gobstone toward the ring, and it worked. May's gobstone smacked against Willow's, pushing it out of the ring. That left May in the lead...for now. "That was a good throw, May!" Amadea praised. "Now keep it up, since you're going first for round two!" Amadea smiled; this was turning out to be a great game so far!

Match #1 The Badger Brawl Willow v. May
When May saw that she her throw was a success, she smiled. <<Well Willow, now it's me that has to say....good luck.>> she said. And what? She could be ambitious and cunning when she wanted to right? But this time, it was just teasingly of course. May wouldn't dare (unless it is her enemy) say that and feel it...really, she was a good kid.

As she picked up a Gobstone, she thought for a few seconds what she was going to do...she wasn't very intelligent either. Probably not very wise. But accurate? Yeah, May was going with the careful throw.

She threw the Gobstone carefully, and thought that she was going to win...yeah, she was a show off sometimes, but didn't show it exacly. She could seem shy. Sometimes. Yep, this was going to be a interesting game. She had always loved playing Muggle marbles, but she had always been more of a archery type. Tho it wasn't a very interesting topic to be honest. She smiled at the third year and ex prefect @Amadea Campbell . She also looked up at Willow. Yeah, she was, like May, concentrated on the game to knock out all of May's marbles. That won't happen miss, May thought. She was doing everything in her mind to win...yes, she was ambitious. But just a little.

A prominent frown came to Willow's face when her first throw missed. While she had planned to stay calm and collected throughout this, that was quickly thrown out the window. Or maybe... thrown in a window since they were outside? Willow surveyed the playing field, wishing that she had maybe practiced rather than just done a ton of reading. She was thinking more like a Ravenclaw in this moment rather than a bold Hufflepuff.

When May spoke, Willow's head shot up with a smirk of competition. May meant business, and she could appreciate that. "I wouldn't count your chickens before they've hatched May." A wink followed. It was time to be bold, she had to throw out her whole plan. She decided to go for a catapult throw. Maybe May was right in being risky right out of the gate, well, at least what Willow considered to be risky. Willow was normally impulsive, and maybe trying to be safe was what was throwing her off. She was working against her natural instinct to go with her gut. But that first failed throw had changed everything for her. She wasn't going down without a fight. That meant taking bigger risks than she thought she would have to make.

𝓐madea sat back, ready to watch the second round commence. She studied the girls as they prepared for the second roll. May looked quite happy with herself after successfully throwing the gobstone and Amadea smiled to herself. She was glad that people were having fun while playing and that they seemed to be picking it up quite easily. Then she looked at Willow, who looked slightly less happy about the game as she had missed her first throw. Amadea wished she could just throw her arms around the Hufflepuff and reassure her that everything was fine. After all, it was only the first round and Amadea didn't even know if Willow had ever played gobstones before. Surely she would do better once she got the hang of the game.

May went first for the second round, carefully throwing her gobstone toward the ring. Her accuracy paid off as her gobstone smacked another one of Willow's out of the ring, leaving Willow with five gobstones in the ring. "Wow great job again, May!" Amadea praised the Hufflepuff. It definitely seemed like May had some experience with the game, whether it be actual gobstones or mundane Muggle marbles. Amadea smiled at the small banter the two Hufflepuffs were now partaking in, as Willow prepared for her second throw telling May not to count her chickens before they hatched.

And Willow was right. As she threw her gobstone in the complete opposite tactic that May had used, opting to lob it toward the ring, her gobstone hit it's mark. May's gobstone was knocked out of the ring. This left May still in the lead, but barely. "Nice, Willow!" Amadea cheered. This was going to be an exciting and close game. "Okay moving onto round three now," Amadea said. As much as she loved being the cheerleader for the two girls, she was also the moderator and had to make sure she kept things moving. "Willow, you're up first."

Match #1 The Badger Brawl Willow v. May
Throwing The Match Because I'm Bad at Replying with @May Moonstar @Amadea Campbell
Willow had gone into this with a major confidence in her step, and a teasing statement right at the start, egging May on. But as the game went on she consistently stayed one gobstone behind her, and she was starting to get worried. She should've expected this, especially since this was her first time even playing. You can read all the books in the world about it, but until you play it you have no idea how good you are.

Her mind was rapidly switching between the 4 throw options, not knowing which one to go for next, what would be her best move to try and get even with May? Willow had been concentrating so hard that her body went rigid, including the locking of her knees which was probably the worst thing that she could do. Her vision started to go spotty and she felt mildly sick. She looked up at the other two, wondering if this was some weird wizard thing that was happening but they seemed to be fine. Willow's eyes looked to the older girl for help. "Amadea I... don't feel that great." With barely finishing her sentence, Willow collapsed and passed out. Solidly forfeiting the game.
Giving the win to May because I've been the worst at replying to this!!

𝓐madea sat back, ready for the next round to commence. Willow was up first, and while she was currently down one behind May, the game was still in the beginning stages. At this point, Willow could easily make a comeback and win the entire thing; plus she was throwing first which gave her the chance to catch up to May. She gave an encouraging smile to both girls as they were both doing quite well; Amadea was happy with the success of the first gobstones match. She had been worried about whether or not people would actually enjoy the game, especially since she was still ironing out all of the moderation techniques, but so far, the Hufflepuffs seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Amadea looked over at Willow, who seemed to be taking a while to decide on what move she wanted to make. That was fine with Amadea; strategy was an important part of the game and she didn't want to rush anyone into making a mistake. Then, Willow spoke up, saying how she didn't feel that good. Amadea immediately stood up and opened her mouth to ask Willow what part of her wasn't feeling well, but before she could speak a single word, the Hufflepuff had collapsed onto the ground, the gobstone rolling out of her fingers as she fell. "Oh my God!" Amadea exclaimed, rushing over to Willow's side. Feeling for a pulse, Amadea was comforted by the fact that she could feel the steady beating of Willow's veins. However, they still had to do something.

Of course this couldn't go smoothly. Who was Amadea kidding? It was just her luck that something terrible had to happen, especially after how she had been thinking about how wonderfully this was all turning out. At least Willow seemed to be okay, she reminded herself. Maybe she was just dehyrdated or overheated. "May, do you think you could help me bring Willow up to the hospital wing?" she asked the other Hufflepuff, trying to stay calm. "I think she's okay...but just in case we should have the nurses make sure." She sighed. "I'm really sorry about this..." she added, wondering how it must have felt to be attending the first match of a new club and have all of this happen.
