Baby, It's Cold Outside
Sylvie hummed to herself as she walked onto the grounds, umbrella in hand. It was nearing the end of fall, and everyone knows what that means! Pretty lights, beautiful songs, hot chocolate, snow, and just holiday cheer. Winter was Sylvie’s favorite time of year, even if she did very badly in the cold. She couldn’t see anyone else on the grounds, and she assumed that was because most people don’t like to walk around in the rain. On the other hand, she found the pitter-patter of raindrops hitting the ground calming. A gust of wind hit the side of her face, making her have to re-adjust her umbrella. The sky was filled with dark clouds that were quite ominous which made the bleach-blonde stand out.
Soon Sylvie’s humming turned into singing. Not very loud, but not a whisper either. She sang to the music only she could hear. As she walked, she rocked her head from side to side to the beat. “I really can’t stay….. I got to go away…. This evening has been, so very nice ...” She’d always loved this song, even if it did have some slight problems involving consent. She was aware of them, but that didn’t change the fact that the song held a special place in her heart.

Wren loved rain. It might have been cold, but it was darker than when the sun was out, and Wren loved the dark. You never knew what was coming at you. Also, rain was refreshing. It meant that all the dirt was being washed away and even though puddles were forming, they still were beautiful.
Wren was supposed to be working on all her homework. It was long overdue, you see she was a very major procrastinator and did not like to do anything that was just assigned. All her teachers got on her about it, but she could not break the habbit. She was procrastinating now, walking outside. She had a paper due next class but she did not want to do it yet.
As Wren was walking around the ground she spotted a girl, that looked about her age, maybe a bit older than her. She was holding an umbrella just like Wren and was listening to music. She looked like she was mouthing the words. As Wren got closer to the girls she could barely hear what she was saying.
“I really can’t stay….. I got to go away…. This evening has been, so very nice ...”
Wren walked up to her wondering what song she was singing. The song sounded familiar but she could not pin it down in her mind.
"Hey, What song are you listening to?"

Baby, It's Cold Outside

"Hey, What song are you listening to?"
Sylvie quickly stopped singing and turned around when she heard the girl's voice. She didn't recognize the girl, but that didn't stop her face from turning bright red with embarressment. The girl was at least a few inches taller than Sylvie, so she found herself having to look up to see this girl's face. Her hands tightened around her umbrella, like she was clinging onto it for dear life. Her eyes were wide with a mix of shock and terror. She stuttered a bit as she spoke. "O-OH, I um.... I was singing... uh... B-baby it's cold outside. It's was w-written by Frank L-loesser. He's a m-muggle."
Her eyes went down to her feet to avoid eye-contact. "God Sylvie, you've gone an done it this time. What's with you and horrible first impressions? At this rate no one at this school will ever like you. They probably already don't." Sylvie furrowed her brows and whispered, "S-so sorry if I disturbed you or something... I really d-didn't think anyone would be out here in this weather besides me. Don't worry, I'll b-be more quiet." She made eye-contact for a secound with a small, weak smile, then went back to looking at the ground, pretty much certain that this girl hated her.

"No! You're absolutely fine! I don't mind at all. The only reason I'm out here is because I love the rain. Everything about it! I mean, I might be a little weird but it's ok.
Wren decided that for once she wouldn't apologize for talking so much. She would embrace the fact that talking was one of the traits that came with being her friends. Talking was something that she could not, not do. Talking and sleeping were her defining traits, and she had a lot to say sometimes.
"Also, Never apologize when it's not your fault. I don't care that you are singing, in fact I sing a lot too. I might not be good at it, but I still sign a lot. I love singing and I love talking. I guess you could say that I love running my mouth."
Wren laughed, lowering her umbrella, letting the cold drops of rain soak her clothes, and letting her skin get wetter and wetter. She might have a cold pretty soon but she didn't really care. If it meant getting out of classes for a day she would do anything. Classes were hard for her, getting out of them meant a stress free day that helped her immensely

Sorry it took so long!Sylvie looked up at the girl again, studying her face for signs that she was lying, that she wanted this annoying blondie to go away and leave her alone so she can continue to walk in peace. From what she could tell, this girl was being genuine. “Y-yeah, I like the rain as well.” She said, gazing into the cloudy sky. She held out one hand and let the raindrops falling from the sky hit it. The sudden feeling of the cold droplets touching her hand made her flinch, but she quickly got used to it. It felt good, warm even. She smiled to herself and looked at the girl. “It’s calming, isn’t it?” The rain was very calming for Sylvie, at least, it was until she remembered that this girl she’d never even talked she had just watched her singing."No! You're absolutely fine! I don't mind at all. The only reason I'm out here is because I love the rain. Everything about it! I mean, I might be a little weird but it's ok.”
Sylvie felt like this was probably a joke, and it was an appropriate time to laugh, but in case of the small chance laughing would offend the girl, she didn’t. She just smiled politely and said, “Oh, okay.” Her body was very closed off as she watched this other girl get soaked by the rain. “This girl sure is an extrovert.” She thought."Also, Never apologize when it's not your fault. I don't care that you are singing, in fact, I sing a lot too. I might not be good at it, but I still sign a lot. I love singing and I love talking. I guess you could say that I love running my mouth."

Wren decided that this girl was shy.She could tell the girl didn't really want her to be here but being a Caster, she stayed. A lot of people thought she was annoying but what was another person. Wren didn’t really mind if someone didn’t like her, in fact, she thought that if someone didn’t like her then so be it. It was something to do with them and not her. She was just being Wren.
“It’s calming, isn’t it?” The girl said.
“Yes, it is.”
Wren took a silent pause to let the rain soak her cloak. It felt good. Wren realized she had not asked the girl her name and was embarrassed.
“I’m sorry” She said with an apologetic look on her face, “I totally forgot to ask you you’re name”
Wren laughed. A drop of rain had dripped down her back and it tickled. Like, really ticked. She looked behind her and saw that her cloak had dropped in a puddle of mud and that she no longer had any source of warmth. She shivered finally exposed to the cold air.
“I’m sorry, but do you happen to have anything that could keep me warm? I seem to have dropped my cloak into the mud and it is now wet as well as muddy
