ʙᴀsᴋᴇᴛʙᴀʟʟ?
A rather depressing day had crawled its way around Hogwarts, clouds covering the already pale sky, not a single ray of sunshine being able to peek out of the dense gray mass. Everyone seemed somehow gloomy, even the bubbliest of students appeared quieter as usual but it didn't particularly bother Ophelia really, she enjoyed those days every now and then, felt like some sort of balance was provided through the days.
Pale hands held a basketball, a gift from pureblood's Muggle friend Lukas, searching if there is an area where the item might be useful. A gentle breeze whispered, swirling and dancing through the air, tickling long locks as the slim figure paced around the school's grounds, fresh air felt reviving to one's lungs and legs couldn't help but to wander a little further, letting new paths open along the way.
Then, blue vision caught an alluring small area. The grass there probably backed away years ago, exposing dry soil, a couple of tiny plants growing here and there, plus, a smaller tree with somewhat lively branches, one pair unusually bending, forming a vague ellipse. Ophelia once caught a glimpse of this area before, thinking how perfect it would be for sports activities, not knowing she would ever find it again.
Taking a glance at the indefinite shape of the branches, she gently threw her basketball through it, observing when it fell through the hole perfectly, realizing that practicing throws or even playing basketball would be a great activity here. She learned the sport from Lukas at a younger age, the pair playing it almost every day before she went to Hogwarts. She missed her best friend and even though he did not have knowledge of Ophelia being a wizard, the boy probably was one of the rare people who knew so many things about her which were trusted to rare individuals.
Snapping out of her daydream, her hands started bouncing the ball, throwing it to what resembled a basketball hoop, moving to various locations and trying different styles of throws.

Miko had never played any muggle sports other than football (British) before. He had played loads of Quidditch with his dads and cousins but no basketball or American football just normal football and of course Quidditch. That was all he knew about, those two sports, he thought the others didn't matter since they never seemed that fun or active but sometimes the boy would still watch them.
The Hufflepuff boy saw a girl bouncing a ball and throwing it into the hoop several times and was quite confused as to what she was doing. Figuring he should go talk to her, he walked closer to the hoop thing and to his surprise was hit in the head with the ball which fell from the hoop. Next thing he knew dirt was in his face and his palms were scratched, he had fallen. It obviously didn't hurt much but also didn't feel like he was touching a pillow so he squeezed his hand and threw back his head in agony.
Lovely.
Second time today he injured himself!
What a time to be alive, hm?
"Aw...bloody hell..." Miko muttered as he clutched his hand. Thick Scottish accent and all it seemed as though he was speaking complete gibberish which wasn't anything new. His type of accent is always hard to understand especially when you aren't a Scot yourself. Of course this was Scotland but that didn't make the accent sound any clearer just more people had it which was a slight problem when it comes to making friends. How do you have a friend and can't understand a word that leaves their lips? You can't, that's how!

Practice felt a litttle boring without a competitive companion but at least Ophelia will train her accuracy so well, she will beat Lukas at her next visit for sure. Trying to increase the distance between her and the hoop, she threw the ball and hit the so-called basket with ease. What she didn’t expect though was that hoop wasn’t the only thing she’ll hit. At the very moment, a boy ran under it, which she didn’t understand why exactly, ball falling on his head as he faced the floor.
He was murmuring in annoyance, a Scottish accent revealing in his tone. Slim figure stepped closer to the stranger, confused of what just happened. Back slouched a little, leaning closer for a few inches, hands grabbed standing knees for better balance, head tilted while fingers fixed falling locks by putting them behind her ear.
“You know the only thing falling under the hoop was supposted to be the ball right?”
Lips spoke with a retorical tone to them, blue gaze now taking a closer look to the boy.
Dark, messy hair, face partly muddy yet she could see a scar on his forehead, then orbs contacted with emerald shine for a few seconds before switching away. People would describe him as an attractive individual, having many traits of one, but Ophelia mostly didn’t really pay much attention to such things. Robe similar to hers, she realized he was a fellow Hufflepuff, yellow streaks decorating the fabric, a badger crest sewed into the material.

The boy rolled his eyes, at least she had quite a bit of sarcasm which was preferred in a new friend. Or enemy. Or acquaintance. Well pretty much anyone that Miko had a relationship sarcasm was a must for him to even speak to you. Pulling his fingers through his hair it revealed more of the scar. It was a light red and looked like a messy flame, a very unique scar actually. The story behind it isn't as interesting as the scar itself but it works.
"Hm, yeah, I figure that now." He rubbed his head and hoisted himself back up.
Right about then was the best moment for introduction but with slight anxiety he would only reveal the answer if he was asked the question. If Ophelia outstretched her arm for a handshake, he would do his best for it. His fathers always said a good grip makes a good impression, which isn't supposed to rhyme which is why it doesn't.
Earlier his hair was slightly mentioned, and as the description said it was messy. This was disappointing, Miko had just combed it this morning! Well, tried to. His hair wasn't the most cooperative part of him, maybe really nice to look at but not nice to deal with.

Emerald orbs rolled, body getting up, clearly athletic figure didn’t need a hand as he stood, fingers brushed through dark locks, putting them back into their, more or less, original state. The scar, which blue gaze glanced at before, was now more revealed, it was forming a rather vague shape of flames. Ophelia had never seen one like it before, a rarity to one’s eyes indeed.
He appeared as if he wanted to say something else besides the short comment, but lips didn’t part, voice remained silent. She waited a few seconds, just in case he would change his mind as pale hands grabbed a hairband off slim wrist, pulling gray locks in a high ponytail, letting a few strands fall out.
Grabbing the ball off the floor, she bounced it a few times as vision followed slowly, then feet turned walking a tiny distance away from the boy, holding the ball between her waist and elbow as head turned, blue fixed into the green, slightly tinted lips spoke:
“Up for a round?”
She wasn’t sure if the Hufflepuff boy knew basketball, but from his physique, she assumed his hobbies were sports-related. They could play a simple round or just practice throwing, two were always better than one when it came to such sports, made it a little more of a challenging activity.

"Why..I have never played this game and do not know the rules, care to explain?" Is all he said before stepping on to the court thing near the basket but not under it, learning his lesson.
It's true, he had never played the game the farthest he had gotten to the knowledge about the game was the name, Basketball. The name was very easy to remember as the game has two baskets and a ball so smash them together and you've got basketball. Very simple, also OOC Miko has no knowledge of Basketball because it is a stupid game and soccer is superior.
"Do you kick it?" Limof tilted his head sideways slightly and kicked the hard orange ball with the side of his foot as he would do while playing soccer. Quickly he ran to it before it could get out the court and using the tip of his toe he sent the ball hurling through the air, falling in to the basket. Of course that wasn't how he saw the girl doing it but then again she could have been wrong everyone makes mistakes of course.
Miko grinned at his accomplishment knowing it wasn't the way to do it but he got it in the basket still. With his foot, too with the hard orange and black ball which would normally break someones toe if the kicked it that way but actually as any soccer player would know you never kick the ball with your toe but you can use it to lift the ball up higher to make a goal out of the goal keeper's reach which was key. OOC Miko knows this because he plays soccer yay.

The boy didn't appear to know the sport, kicking the ball into the hoop as a grin of accomplishment snuck onto his face. Ophelia jumped towards the ball, catching it with grace before it hit the floor, then started bouncing it a little, before grabbing it back securely in her grip. Shaking her head lightly, she decided to briefly explain the sport like one asked her kindly to:
"In basketball, feet should leave the ball alone. If you got any muscles in those arms of yours, I'm sure you can throw it just fine."
She then gestured him to observe her as she walked away from the hoop, creating a considerable distance between her and that tree, then, in a relaxed stance, threw the ball with ease as it landed straight into the hoop before reaching the ground.
Turning towards him, she was thinking of a way to explain it easily. She then remembered the boy kicking the ball, perhaps he knew more about soccer, so she decided to try to speak with that angle in her mind:
"Like a goal in soccer, here you have a hoop. Each time the ball goes into the hoop, one gets points. To be precise, you usually get two or three points depending on the distance and one point from free throws. Just describe it as soccer with hands. With slightly different rules. And different field."
She paused for a brief second, letting the fellow Hufflepuff absorb the newly-acquired information.
"Since there is only the two of us, we could either just throw the ball and each of us counts the number of own hits, or we could go for a simple game of one-on-one."
Since there was only one 'hoop', both of the choices were feasible, Ophelia was fine with both so whichever the boy would choose would work for her.
