This is an adventure event, meaning that you will be able to have posts that can have as little as 100 words if you are addressing the situation at hand. Because I am giving you the ability to post with less effort, I expect more posts. If you do not post once a week, your character in the adventure will either head back to camp or deal with whatever danger in front of them without being able to defend themselves. I will be rolling for this adventure in the roll channel of the hogwarts.io discord. If you would like proof of fair rolls, owl me or look there. You may also message my student account discord if you are looking for a quick response. (@salamander eyes#6669) or Nora’s own discord (Snek Mama#1906)
The Gryffindor house was a dormant one, hounded by the tragedies of last year and the influx of new members, already content to deal with their own drama and childlike petty fights. The grades were separate from each other, and so the house stayed quiet. The few second years spoke little, but the first years seemed to be a lively sort. The older children did not concern Sorrel, who simply wanted the younger children and the ones still healing from the masked man’s menace to have a good year.

Her grand plan to give the children a year worth remembering was simple. A house wide adventure. She had heard of how horrible the past few house-wide adventures had gone, and had made sure to keep her adventure in an area that couldn’t be that dangerous.

The mahogany brown forest was a hidden treasure to Sorrel, worn hollow flattened by the hoofprints of creatures that had long since departed the area for a home hidden deeper in the forest and less beautiful and promising of opulence. Sorrel knew little of the creatures of the Forbidden Forest and had no intention to get to know them.  She assumed that they would never find something as beautiful as this glen, nor would they want to treasure it in the same adoring way she did. The woman had nothing against magical creatures but simply was misinformed and preferred not to think about them, without the knowledge of their problems and struggles. Still, her wand hung loosely in her left hand, just in case any of the wild creatures strayed too far away from their dark and gloomy parts of the sinister woods, which almost seemed to deter from the peaceful clearing. The clearing was blissfully different from the rest of the forest.

It was not charred by the reminders of the campout gone wrong, nor was it covered in fog. The catcalls or hissing of creatures could not be heard. The only noises to be found were the flapping of insect wings, as the creatures, wings sparkling in the air, floated and pirouetted in the air. The whole forest came alive with the whisper of wind through the ancient trees and the primordial forest seemed young and ancient at once, as the leaves and grass seemed to beckon towards the children, whispering sweet songs of summer on the wings of the flapping butterflies and through the jongleurs of the rustling trees and their susurrant songs, telling of the world long before.

The area Sorrel had selected seemed to be safe enough, even if the wind sometimes caught the lush tree canopy at the wrong angle and doused the glen in the faint, but ever present, smell of horse. Sorrel chalked up the faint, but obvious, aroma of horse sweat and stench to the therstals and their possible wandering through the forest. The idea that centaurs could be so close to the limits of the forest was preposterous to her and was a thought that Sorrel quickly shut out. Even though a large part of her rather wanted to meet a centaur.

There was no fire in the clearing. Sorrel would not make the same mistake that Professor Lear had. Instead of fire, little-magicked lanterns, closed and sealed stood by every row of sleeping bags. Warmth radiated from the small objects and their yellow glow, as if a charm had been placed on the little lights to keep them burning brightly enough to warm in the same way a campfire would. The gold and red sleeping bags stood in small rows on either side of the clearing, each with a small stuffed lion on them. Sorrel knew little of what 11 and 12-year-olds liked, but she had placed the lions down on the sleeping bags anyways, petting the silken lines of squeezable fur with a contented grin on her face.

In the middle of the rows of sleeping bags was a blanket piled with food. The amount of vast sugary treats was similar to the endless horde of deserts often found at Hogwarts feasts. Puddings, chocolates, candy floss, and anything else a grubby handed child could think of residing on the dew sprinkled blanket, which was a dark shade of black. Stars flecked the surface of the blanket, and they moved and darted around the blanket, in tandem with the setting sun above the treetops.  Held down by boulders, which had been hastily decorated with long chains of daisies, already splitting apart at the ends with the struggle of wrapping around such a large boulder, there was no chance of wind blowing the blanket or it’s precious goods away. Also on the blanket was a large assortment of blankets and jackets, should the children want to eat and/or protect themselves further from the cold. Sorrel’s own sleeping bag was a dark green, and stood in front of the rows of child’s sized bags, near the sleeping bags she had set aside in the hopes of seeing other professors come to join in the house bonding. She wasn’t sure and had been too shy to extend a formal invitation to the new professors and their weathered faces. Evidently older than herself, the woman feared the repercussions of having mature adults see through the facade she attempted to put up. She tried to be big and strong like the Gryffindor house needed her to be, but in truth, Sorrel Wright was a flustered little cubby by heart, not the furious lion she was expected to be. Oh, how easier things would be if Valtome was still at school and she could just stay with her plants! Plants never seemed to judge or scream in her face about boys and getting more house points.

The sun had yet to set, so the festivities of the night would be able to start when the children came. Their first task would be to find themselves a sleeping bag, then there would be a game of freeze tag. Sorrel didn’t know if the children knew how to play the muggle game, but she would explain to them in time. Or at least, she would try to. The game was interesting enough and was one that Estella and her friends had taught Sorrel in her early years in Brazil. Of course, there would be rules on where to go, but for now, Sorrel let herself smile and wait for students to arrive in the glen, which was slowly beginning to come alive in the gleam of the darkening sun.

[you may come, find a sleeping bag, have some candy, and meet your friends. After a few days, I will post again with the instructions for freeze tag, but Nora will post first!.]

Although her time at Hogwarts had been short so far, Hjørdis had picked up on a lot. She did not know everything, not at all. However, there were some observations that she had made over the time that she had been here and they concerned her. The Slytherin students seemed quiet, almost too quiet, much to the dismay and worry of their Head of House. It was almost as though they questioned their ambitions, which was something she would not tolerate in the slightest. However, she understood it. The upper years had been through a lot in the past year at Hogwarts. Stories of their injuries, pain and the distrust that they had for the Professors had reached her ears. They lacked excitement and fun. They also lacked safety. So many of the younger years were shy, quiet children that were new to the school. Some of them were regretting the choice that the hat made, perhaps due to the reputation that the Slytherin house had gotten since Voldemort's Era. Some did not feel like they belonged there. Perhaps they were not as cunning or resourceful as their housemates, in their opinion.

It worried her when Slytherins lacked the qualities and traits that made them who they are. She knew they had it within them, she believed in them enough to know that. However, the fact that they doubted those qualities or the house itself was what worried her. Slytherin was good house, a strong house. It produced leaders that made the world proud. Men of stature like Merlin. It was a house of value, that was for sure. And Hjørdis was definitely proud of leading it.

Leading the students that had gathered in the common room at the allocated time, Hjørdis headed to the Forest with them behind her. She brought them to the beautiful area that Sorrel had discovered. The Slytherin had not spent much time in the Forest herself, still trying to figure out the castle and open ground space. However, she had gotten to know the Head of Gryffindor over the past month or so and she trusted her knowledge enough to leave the location up to her.

Hjørdis had set up one half of the area earlier. Opposite the Gryffindor's row of sleeping bags were the Slytherin ones. They were a beautiful emerald shade of green and a silver that matched the colour of her hair. She did not add the addition of a stuffed animal, sadly. She was not that sort of person. Instead, she added several small bags near the sleeping bags. There was one between three or four people but each bag contained a variety of items. Inside them, there were some rubber snakes, fake spiders and whoopie cushions. Each snake had a different design on them, painted to look vaguely real. Harmless little prank toys, for a little bit of fun. Her lack of experience working with children was evident in the fact that she had no idea how to entertain them. These children were probably far too old for whoopie cushions and maybe too young for actual pranks but she would soon find out.

Approaching the feast that had been prepared, the Slytherin professor placed a large container onto one of the food tables. She kept it sealed, to prevent insects from getting in but it was in a box that was easy enough for anyone to open. The box was transparent too, clearly displaying what was inside. Within it, there two dozen neatly decorated cupcakes that she had baked earlier that day. She had Norwegianfied it with a layer of whipped cream mixed with cloudberries that she had handpicked over the summer. Half of the cupcakes had a gold coloured whipped cream over the cupcakes in a rose like pattern whilst the other half were silver. There were specks of glitter in them too. She had frozen a lot of cloudberries for the coming winter, knowing full well that she would use a lot of them this year. This year, in particular, required cloudberries. They reminded her of home and her family. She had baked these cupcakes for the day, especially, deciding to treat the children with something a little special to her. Though, she did not openly tell them that she made it or why. As far as they knew, it was just another cake but to her, it meant a lot more than that.

The female glanced over the beautiful setting and nodded once, approving the final layout of it as the children followed in behind her. Her own sleeping bag was placed near Sorrel's. It was a shade of silver, with purple lines running down it. Hjørdis dumped her bag next to it, before making her way over to the Lioness in charge of her cubs and nodded politely in the form of a greeting. It was a sign of respect, "Professor Wright," She greeted more formally than she would if they were in private. In front of the children, she believed in maintaining a professional approach to things. Greeting Sorrel by her first name in front of them seemed a little inappropriate.

Hjørdis was dressed in a pair of thick thermal leggings, warm furry boots that were made for trekking and a few layers of tops and jumpers, with a waterproof jacket over it. Her wand was neatly tugged away in her boot and her hair was up in a ponytail for once, rather than the usual bun that she sported around. She had her green and silver scarf on, one that her great aunt had knit for her and a pair of gloves on to fight the chill. It was a little warmer here than in the open, as the trees and surrounding helped to block the direct wind. However, Hjørdis was always cold and she did not want to take the risk of sleeping out in the cold. She brought extra layers, for definite.

Looking around, she opted to let the children settle down first. They could find their sleeping bags, eat food and hang out with their friends for a bit. The Professors could instruct them on what to do after a little while. They had a few games planned. Hopefully, it would be the start to a great new year, one full of fun and joy for the children.

Another staple of childhood that Elena had completely missed out on, slumber parties. The sign up sheet had seemed daunting to the first year, but the promise of adventure and new friends had spurred her on into signing up for the event.

So Elena had come down in clothes that were comfy enough for actually running around in but she was still able to stave off the cold. She was dressed in mostly dark clothing. Boots, leggings, and a hoodie. Simple but practical for the purposes of coming out into the cold, she assumed some of the others will have picked a lot more flashy clothing, but Elena figured that if they wanted to see a beautiful Slytherin they could just look at Professor Jensen.

She put her bag down on one of the sleeping bags close further away from the majority of the class, the lanterns hovering above the rows had a comforting glow to them, which made the darkness of the forest a bit less daunting, she considered chatting to the professors, and eventually decided that they probably wouldn't be too happy with being intruded on. So instead she hung around the edge of the sleeping bags and waited for someone to say hi.

Chatting with Alan Vanes; semi-closed

Daniel didn’t do social interaction. Okay, scratch that; he did, but he didn’t like it. People were dumb, and more often than not, he found himself irritated at their petty conversations. He hadn’t met many Gryffindors that he liked, and he doubted the Slytherins he actually was friends with were there. Honestly, he couldn’t even remember why he signed up. What had compelled him to come in the first place? He tried to think about it. There was just…

He didn’t know. He had already finished packing. He didn’t have much in his book bag - an extra sweater and pair of socks. He knew it was just a small stint outside, but his mother always warned him that if he was going anywhere, to bring extra clothing. Besides his bag, he wore a rather nice sweater over long thermals, and thermal pajama pants that hung loosely (but not too loosely) around the tops of his sneakers. He had the signature silver and emerald scarf wrapped comfortably around his neck, and a warm, but not overly puffy winter jacket on over the sweater.

He wasn’t one of the first people in the Common Room waiting for the Head of House, but once they were on their trek, he was definitely one of the first ones out. The last thing he wanted was to be at the sleeping area and being stuck in some bad place because groups of students stuck themselves together. Once there, he dropped his bag on a sleeping bag of Slytherin’s color at the far end of one of the lines; it was out of the hub of everyone else’s drama, but still close enough to overhear everything.

He studied the area quietly for a long moment before he went to the bag that was set between sets of Slytherin sleeping bags. He dug through it, securing himself a fake Acromantula spider (he thought it was cute, being particularly interested in bugs and insects), as well as a rubber snake that was realistically similar to a coral snake. It made him smile.

He debated if he wanted to take a whoopie cushion. It was rather childish, and he pondered about it for a long moment. Why not. If anything, he could just blame it on one of the other annoying Slytherins that were around. Decision made, he took a whoopie cushion, blew it up and stuffed it underneath one of the nearby Gryffindor bags.

Hey, if the Slytherin Head of House didn’t expect the eleven year olds to use them, she wouldn’t have put them there for their use… right?

Daniel, once satisfied, took a seat on his sleeping bag and tucked away his fake acromantula into his backpack. He’d find the snake more interesting; it remained out and on his lap. He wondered if he could convince Professor Jensen to charm it to move on its own.

Interacting with @Hjørdis Jensen and @Sorrel Wright
Elena was getting pretty tired of waiting for someone to show up and talk to her, so she scanned her surroundings for someone to talk to. There was a kid around that Elena knew of, Daniel, she thought his name was. Some kind or pureblood, she'd seen him around but wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone she didn't really know about.

She couldn't see any of her friends around yet, so that left talking to one of the professors or just giving up and waiting for longer. Elena decided that maybe she should at least introduce herself, she hadn't really spoken to Professor Jensen before, so she figured she should start there. She wandered over to the two professors and gave them both a winning smiled.

"Hi Professor Jensen, hi Professor Wright. I'm Elena Jones, it's nice to meet you both! Thanks for setting all of this up." The blue haired girl wasn't quite sure what to say, but thought that was a good start. Elena figured that if she ran out of things to say she could always just babble on about flutes for a while, who knew maybe they knew somewhere to get a new one.

Since July, Aurelia had attended as a many as 4 four sleepovers. It might as well be that the Professors had run out of other ideas than to organise sleepovers. At least most of them didn’t go terribly wrong like one of Lear’s adventures but she would admit that the sleepovers were quite boring other than meeting people whom she didn’t click well with and this one might be no different.

A slumber party with Slytherin and Gryffindor wasn’t an ideal combination to the twelve year old. Perhaps it was just the old stereotypes about Gryffindor and Slytherins being long rivals as for the past months in Hogwarts, Aurelia hadn’t met a Slytherin that she got along well with. There was a very slim chance that it would change but Aurelia would try not to have any interactions with the house in order not to risk making another bad impression.

Aurelia followed the Gryffindor Head of House down to the grounds and was met with bitter cold wind as soon as she stepped from the castle’s threshold. What a great weather to have a slumber party. Sleeping Bags and snacks were all laid out on the grounds. Aurelia picked the nearest one and dragged it behind a nearby tree that was already bare of its leaves preparing for the freezings season. She hoped it would shield her from the cold wind at night as there wasn’t a bonfire but small measly lanterns that were somehow oddly warm.

Cold, dark and a cloudy sky. Was it a perfect weather for a sleepover? Not necessarily. The girl never actually went on one of the many that have been proposed to the students over her first year. She had preferred to stay inside her dormitory, reading her numerous herbology and potion books. It was not in her interest to merge herself with others, to meet new individual and to make friends. She has a simple reason for that. They would not help her achieve her own personal goal. She, alone, needed to do it and therefore, having someone else to distract her would make her lose her concentration and directly affect her performance. That could explain why she did not keep contact with Darius and Isaiah over the summer, preferring to avoid contact with them, to make them forget about her. So far, it had worked. She was alone and free to practice.

However, Arya could not say why she had such a change of mind for her second year. Knowing the history of Hogwarts and seeing the numerous disastrous activities the professors had created in the last year was something that should have stopped her from writing her name on the participating board, but she had taken the quill and written her name nonetheless. Perhaps a hidden motive made her do so. At least, it was what she wanted to believe. She could blind herself from the true all she wanted, it would still be in front of her. She had written her name because Alan Vanes had asked her to. Why did she accept? She, herself did not know. The two of them had met in their common room at the beginning of their second year. It was recent and new. She would have turned him down and ran into her dormitory if she did not feel like there was something special in him. Vanes was a unique being. He was interesting and promising.

All of this explained why she was currently walking side to side with him in a weather has unpredictable as anything else at Hogwarts, going toward the meeting point for the activity of Professor Wright and Jensen. She took a small breath of the fresh air and faced Alan. Upon walking out of the school, they had been having a discussion on their school homework. ''So! I am guessing you are still troubling yourself with Flying classes? You know I could help you with that Alan! After my small adventure to that Quidditch store and a few classes here, I've managed to become quite in control with a broom. I might even try to enroll myself in the Quidditch team you know?'' She had told him once or twice about her small adventure in Diagon Alley with Darius and Isaiah where they tricked the owner to make him believe they were third years or was it second? He had allowed them to try expensive broom. She still couldn't believe how easy it has been to make him believe that.

Alan was smiling at her and obviously, she returned his smile. The boy was walking rather fastly and she had to try and follow up to him. It was clearly visible that he was excited about this event. She was too, to be honest. Even if she would try to show the contrary. Soon enough, they were arriving at their destination. Curiously, she looked around. Everything was placed in order, even the sleeping bags were respectively placed by houses. She noted that they were separated. The girl could observe both professors and a few students that were already arrived. She also noted that she was not the only one that had decided to wear something that would prevent her from being cold, the professor Jensen too, had, in fact, thought the same, the girl could guess. St-Onge had decided to wear her walking brown boots, a small coat, and her usual Gryffindor scarf. Somehow she knew it would all show itself useful. She even had some gloves in her pockets, just in case.

She let out a breath she couldn't remember keeping in and took Alan's hand. ''Come! We must choose our sleeping bag!''         [/font]

Even though she made a small amount of friends recently, she still felt horribly out of her comfortzone. She walked abit isolated from the other students. She didn't really mind... It gave her some space to look around. Nico had never been in the Forest before. With good reason, sinse she was an-easy-to-scare-person. They stayed on a path, while the darker part of the forest seemed to watch them from within the shadows of the trees. Worst-case-scenarios flashed through her head. As quickly as they came, she shook them back out of her train of thoughts.
Tiny creatures fluttered about, so beautiful. She focused on them, imprinting them in her mind. She wanted to draw them later. Maybe she could make her scibbles flutter the same way as the real creatures did.

Quietly, she followed the crowd of students, who were chatting among each other. Gossip, jokes, some fights here and there. Nico kept herself out of those conversations. She was better off alone... Her scarf covered half her face, making her feel as if she wore armor. It made her feel more secure. Without it she felt way too exposed. It was cold out too. Her fingers gently clenched around the edge of the scarf. It actually wasn't hers. She couldn't help but smile a little. 'I should really return this soon...' With a sigh, she put her focus back on the line of students, finally arriving at the camping site.

Others quickly made their way to sleeping bag spots but Nico couldn't help but freeze up. This felt awkward... Where should she join? She set a few steps aside, watching the others settle. She seemed to have a slight panic attack. Her heartbeat got faster, her hands were shaking. But she hid it... She dealt with this before. Her eyes scanned the area and noticed the table with food. Food... Food sounded nice. Maybe she had to get some sugar to gain her strength back.

Shy, she got closer to the table, carrying her bag close to her. Her eyes stopped at the lovely, silvery colored cupcakes. We're they handmade by.. the teacher herself...? They looked so professional. She glanced over at the headteacher. If she did, Nico was convinced the Head of the House had some secret skills. Hesitantly, she opened one of the trays and picked out, the best looking one, ofcourse. It felt abit heavier than it looked. She gently pulled down her scarf, leaning in to take a bite. And.. another bite. And another. It was so good! It had so much... emotion. It felt really warm for some reason. Love? It had to be love...

After she stuffed her face, she sighed and felt abit better. She hadn't eaten much. Not good. Stress.
Brushing off the crumbs, she looked at the sleepingbags are again. It seemed to have settled down. Nico noticed a single sleeping bag at the end of the row. That could work... She quickly passed by the other students, hoping not to be noticed. She pulled the sleeping bag a little bit further away from the rest. Not much. A meter or so. No need to invade other students personal space. Or her own.

She opened up her bag and as soon as she did, her big, huggale shark plushie flopped out. As quick as lightning, she stuffed it inside her sleeping bag. She wasn't really sure if it was allowed to bring plushies with, but.. she took no chances. Quietly, she hummed to herself, as she unloaded her bag further...

A young boy, by the age of 12 would wander within a group of students and two professors. Both of them Head of Houses, one by the house of Slytherin while the other one, Professor Sorrel Wright would be the Head of House of his very own house; the house of Gryffindor that he was rather proud to be a part of. He already had met a lot of interesting people within that house and obviously outside of it too. There were just so many nice people at this school, it was just awesome.

Alan was wearing a warm, nice pyjama composed of two pieces. A pair of pants and a long sleeved shirt. The pants would resemble some black sweatpants while the shirt was loose and of a light green color.

Taking a look towards the sky, Alan noticed that it was already dark as clouds hung before the moon, creating an eerie atmosphere. Alan was happy for the people around him as they would be more safe in a group. He would look over to Arya, who he noticed had trouble keeping up with hist fast steps. He wasn't tall but he could run and be fast, especially if he was excited; and excited he was. He could not wait, expecting this to be an awesome experience. He hoped it would not be too scary and that no one got the idea to start telling scary stories. He knew they weren't true but it still gave him chills resulting in giving him troubles falling asleep at night or even worse, resulting in nightmares that he would rather not have. He was scared easily and he tried doing stuff against it, but he hoped he would get more bold and courageous when growing up.

”Yeah! Flying is so difficult and I don't trust these brooms… and I don't want to throw my life away just to do some tricks and then fall down…” the young boy shuddered slightly at the thought of falling down. For him it had been nauseating enough to look towards the ground during their Flying Class. That had been such an awkward feeling. He had no concentration to do well on the broom so he would probably fail that class. And Quidditch? Hah. Painful memories shot through his head as he was reminded of the day when Reid would hit him with one of these stupid Bludgers with full force, nearly knocking him off the broom. The pain had been so bad, but nothing a pain potion and a few days of rest couldn't fix. He was so glad that he wasn't knocked off of his broom that time.

”I just don't wanna fall off the broom, you know?” Alan would sigh, shrugging his shoulders slightly in a helpless motion. He would just nod excitedly when Arya proposed to get their sleeping bags and choose a place. Alan would choose a red and golden sleeping bag close to a blond boy he had never talked with before. He was on the other side so Alan quickly assumed that the boy was a Slytherin., expecting Arya to go with him. ”How about here?” he would ask Arya, a girl he had been friends with for a while, they kinda just got along well or so he thought. Or else they would not be friends right? Alan then would take a curious glance at the blond boy, before taking a look at the collection of food.

Elena walked out onto the grounds stopping for a moment to admire the mass of green and silver adorned with scarlet and gold that littered the castle grounds. It was an impressive area to take in to say the least. She wasn't sure why she had signed up to be perfectly honest but perhaps she would encounter someone here. She had begun to reach out in her social circle, met a few people here and there but other than, she had not really met anyone she would consider a true friend, perhaps peers but nothing more. The girl was a very cautious person when it came to trust, something that she had lost faith in a long time ago. As she meandered her way over to the area, people came into view. She instantly familiarized herself with the face of Professor Sorrel Wright, her head of house. The female had seen her around here and there, it was of no surprise to her that she was here. Looking at the other woman, Elena assumed her to be Slytherin's head judging that this was a inter-house event between the two though her name escaped her. Walking over, she placed down her bag containing her violin near a sleeping bag and cast a wary eye at it. Surely, no one would cause any issues with her instrutment, it was a costly item after all but her only prized heirloom.

Glancing around, she caught sight of an familiar face. There was that Jones girl she had met in the Trophy Room who seemed to be deeply in converstation with others already and some other students wandering about here and there. That was when she came to the realization other than Elena Jones, the Gryffindor actually knew no one here. She laughed inwardly to herself. Social interaction really is not your thing, is it.She thought to herself. Perhaps the gathering would liven up once more people started to arrive, as for now, it seemed rather dull in a sense. She decided she was content where she was not too keen to disturb the other Elena in her converstation and glancing once more at her violin bag before heading to the food table. Food sounded good right about now.
