Private Roleplay between Anastasia Beckett and @Dale Kurt
Location: A Tree Somewhere on the Hogwarts Grounds
Date: 6 April 2020
Time: 5:00 p.m.How did Anastasia get herself into these situations? Just two days ago, she had jumped off the Owlery and a few days before that, nearly burned down Hogwarts and set a Hufflepuff on fire. Currently, she was stuck in a tree. She wasn't even sure how on earth she had gotten up here. It had been windy enough that her book bag had been blown to the top of the tree, and Anastasia had climbed right up after it. Except now she had no way of getting down. The branches she was on were very thin and she worried moving much would break them. Glancing down, she knew that she was least 10 feet off the ground, probably more. Perfect, just perfect.
She was going to have to jump. This wasn't nearly as high the Owlery was and that had turned out fine. Not fine exactly, but nobody died or anything, so Ana considered that a win. Somehow, this was scarier though. Maybe because she was alone, or maybe because she could actually see the ground this time. She also knew that the Hospital Wing staff would be suspicious if she came in again two days later. She would just have to be careful. She tossed her book bag down and edged her way to a good place to jump. Mentally, she prepared herself. She was going to jump on three.
One...
Two...
CRACK
She barely had time to register the branch she stood on snapping before she was falling. Oops...

Abilities: Calming Presence and Lovely Creature.Dale liked to take walks, it helped clear the mind, and a breath of fresh air never hurt anybody. The grounds were the perfect place for walks, the scenery never bored him, and sounds of nature all around him only enhanced the experience. He saw other students doing the same things as him, some of them with another person, some alone, others walking past with their eyes glued on a book. It was all a very calming experience, but if he was being honest... he missed his computer and his electronics, the only reason he was taking a walk was to clear his mind of the boredom he was facing...
Dale looked up at the trees, there seemed almost no one around... so Dale wondered what the hell Anastasia Beckett was doing standing on the branch of a tree... she tossed down her bag and looked like she was ready to jump. Dale's reactions took over before he could even think he ran over to her tree, hoping he could make it in time...
CRACK
Dale looked up to see a falling Ana, he extended his arms out, eyes closed... hoping to catch her... Dale was thankful for his long arms for once, as he opened his eyes, he was glad to see her safe in his arms. "Fancy meeting you here..." Dale said with a charming smile.

Anastasia let out an unladylike shriek and closed her eyes. She was so not in the mood to have to go bad to the hospital again. They would think she was habitually flinging herself off of high things and probably be concerned about her mental health. Alright, so taking huge falls twice in two days looked really bad, but she wasn't going out of her way to get into these situations. Honestly, between this, the owlery, the Ravenclaw she'd had to hex, and the flaming Hufflepuff, it felt like there was something at Hogwarts that was just trying to screw with her. She would need to look into that.
Honestly, all the girl wanted to do was bully some first years, get caught up on homework, and hang out with boys. That was apparently too much to ask.
As these thoughts ran through her head, she felt someone's arms catch her. She was reminded of an encounter with one Scott Alexander a few days ago and dearly hoped that it wasn't him who had caught her. Opening her eyes, she was instantly relieved to see it was Dale. "Ah, yes, I'm here all the time," Anastasia said. "That was completely on purpose, by the wat. You see, I just climb trees and then wait for a handsome boy to pass by and catch me." She couldn't help herself and added a wink at the end. She had absolutely no problem flirting with just about anyone, and it was usually pretty funny to see the boy's reactions.

@Anastasia BeckettAna's shriek still rang through his ears, it was a wonder he had caught her... and it was a wonder that he just happened to be in the area to witness it. He didn't want to think about what would happen if he hadn't chosen to take a walk,
Dale was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard Ana's voice, "You see, I just climb trees and then wait for a handsome boy to pass by and catch me."
Dale scoffed, he didn't believe a single word she said, "Well too bad you got me instead." Dale said jokingly... she shot him a wink, that caught him off guard, his cheeks went red as he felt a rush of heat wash over him. He looked away at her, trying to distract himself from the scenery around him, the trees swaying gently in the barley noticeable breeze, it was all very pretty to look at. "Listen... you're light and all don't get me wrong... but my arms are starting to get tired... do you mind if I put you down?" Dale asked her... still looking away, he was actually pretty confident with his strength, but still, holding Ana for this long was starting to take a toll on him, he could feel his muscles start to burn and his legs get wobbly.

The blush that crept onto Dale's cheeks made her chuckle a bit. She could do far worse, but she wasn't that mean. After all, he had saved her from another highly suspicious trip to the hospital. Anyway, after that encounter with Scott, having been on the receiving end of it, she wasn't going to antagonize boys as much. Alright, she probably was, but not at that particular moment in time.
She was about to mention that she was rather worried about his arms since he had been holding her for a solid minute or so when he asked if it was alright if he set her down. "But of course, I'm perfectly fine, thanks to you," she said grinning. As light as she was, Dale wasn't too much larger than her, and at any rate, anything over twenty pounds was bound to hurt if you caught it at the rate Ana had been falling.
She wanted to laugh again since he was still unable to make eye contact with her after that wink. It was always funny to see how different people reacted to it. Some would flirt back, some would literally start choking (Ana thought that was the funniest, and some would turn red and avoid eye contact like Dale was. "Are your arms alright? By the way, what were you doing out here at dinner time? Looking for damsels to catch?" she added, despite her resolution not to antagonize the poor Slytherin. Anyone who knew Ana at all would absolutely die laughing at the idea of her being a damsel of any kind. She was many, many, many things to many different people, but she highly doubted a damsel was one of them.

@Anastasia BeckettDale gently lowered ana down to the ground, making sure her legs were firmly on the ground before he let go of her. He rolled his shoulders around, his arms hurt pretty bad, he looked over to her, "You better remember this." Dale said as he smirked, he was mostly joking... mostly, having a favor from someone as rich as Ana might just pay off one day.
"Ha ha very funny." His arms still hurt, he hoped he would never have to do this again. He thought about what Ana had said, why was he out here. Out of boredom sure, but he thought she would find that weird... but maybe she would also understand, after all, she must also be out here for some kind of similar reason. "Im just bored, didn't feel like going to dinner. What about you, why the hell were you about to jump from that tree?" Dale looked over Ana, she was short compared to him, he was about 5 inches or so taller than her... he sort of wished we would meet someone that was the same height as him, looking down to look at people faces was a bit... weird to him.

@Dale KurtAnastasia grinned at Dale telling her to remember this. As if she would forget him saving her a trip to the hospital wing. While she was more generally known for her ability to hold grudges, she also remembered favors just as long. Anyway, Dale was one of the few people that she considered to be a real friend. They actually had a relatively normal friendship, which was abnormal for Ana. The way she made most of her friends involved fire and/or danger. Although, she supposed that this incident mildly counted as violence.
Speaking of violence, she noted that his arms seemed to be bothering him. She made a mental note to make sure that he went to the hospital to get that looked at when they were done here. She rather wanted to laugh when he said he was bored. She wished she had time to be bored these days. She was constantly drinking coffee or working on homework, and she hardly had time to think, much less be bored. "I was going to jump because I needed to get down," Anastasia said, as though that was perfectly normal behavior. To be fair, she still couldn't think of a better way to get down. As she looked up at Dale, she realized how much taller than her he was. The majority of her friends were taller than her, and it was rather irritating. Why was everyone here so tall? Not that she couldn't hex the crap out of anyone her age or younger, but it was annoying to always be shorter than everyone.

@Anastasia BeckettDale looked at Ana, the answer she gave him was not one he was happy with, it seemed like she was avoiding his question, he considered backing off... he didn't want to push it if she wanted to keep it from him. But he decided to keep asking her, he wanted to make sure she didn't do this often, or ever again, he doubted he could save her every time, and he doubted his poor arms could take that kind of abuse, Dale made a mental note to take up weight lifting over the summer...
"So you climbed a tree... and didn't know how to get back down?" Dale said as he furred his brows, "Why did you climb the tree in the first place?" Dale said with a questioning look on his face. He sighed, "Whatever, wanna join me on my walk?" Some company would be nice, he usually liked to be alone, but if it was Ana he didn't mind. She was almost always calm, not too energetic, although her teasing could be a bit much, but Dale would be lying if he said he hated all of it... Another heatwave rushed over him, he tugged on the collar of his shirt, "when did it get so hot?" he muttered to himself

Anastasia nodded when Dale skeptically asked about her leap from the tree. It really wasn't that complicated. She had gotten herself stuck in a tree and formulated a plan to get out of it. He seemed worried about it, which was actually rather endearing. "Don't worry your pretty little head, I'm not going to make a habit of it or anything," she told him. That was kind of a lie, seeing as she had jumped or attempted to jump from tall things two days in a row, but neither of them had been on purpose. Anyway, Ana had seen her cat fall off of things and Jaz had always been fine, so Ana was sure she wouldn't have been harmed too badly.
"And yes, I think I shall," she said in reply to him wanting to know if she wanted to join him. She wasn't much of a walker, but her brain was actually going to pop if she spent another moment trying to use it. Anyway, she didn't mind much since Dale was decent company. When he made a comment about how hot it was, she just couldn't help herself. Sure, she'd resolved to stop teasing him, but he just kept giving her these amazing opportunities and expecting her to ignore them. "Not to worry, that's just me," she said with a smirk.

@Dale KurtDale scoffed when Ana told him no to "worry his pretty little head" if he was being honest he wasn't all that worried, he knew that she would be fine. She probably knew what she was doing, and even if she broke a few bones in her body, it could all be fixed to a short trip to the medical wing. Dale smirked "The only thing I'm worried about is that I can't catch every time you fall princess." Dale said, if she was gonna flirt, he was gonna flirt right back.
Dale stuck his hands into the pocket of his hoodie, he started to continue to walk along his usual root, before he had to stop "save" Ana, if they kept walking along it, eventually, they would arrive right at the edge of the forbidden forest... he always wondered why it was called that, sure he had read about the dangerous creatures that lurk the forest, but if they really are that big of an issue... why not just exterminate them, or better yet just but down the forest and put something else in its place... But Dale would be lying if he said he wasn't at least a little curious to see the magical creatures that lived there with his own two eyes.
