Taking Deep Breaths & Going on Walks
During a break between classes, Amadea found time to get out of the walls of the castle and get some fresh air. She strolled down to the grounds where students were mulling around, talking and doing whatever they wanted. She saw some of the Blossom Fest activities going on in the distance and smiled to herself as she watched the students hustling to make perfect flower crowns. She continued on her way, following the path that led her farther away from the castle.
She loved these walks. She could clear her head and simply be. She loved to be around the calming sounds of nature and watch the wildlife scurry around her as she walked. Sometimes she would bring her camera and snap pictures of the things that caught her attention, especially some of the most amazing tall trees that she saw. Other times she just found a place to sit in the shade and meditated, focusing on her breathing. It might sound stupid, but she really did think that her meditating helped ground and center her. She always felt recharged after a good, long meditation session.
Today she decided she wanted to climb a tree. She found a good sturdy tree close enough to all of the action, but far away enough that the chatter sounded like a distant hum. She put one foot on the bottom branch, testing it. When it didn't budge, she hopped up onto it and began climbing. She reached about halfway up the tree and turned around to face down toward the ground. A spectacular view greeted her. She could see for miles and miles in each direction. It was absolutely stunning. She decided to see if she could get higher and see the view even more. She began climbing again, too focused on the view to notice that the branches were becoming less and less thick. She had just reached the top of the tree, the sun shining on her face when she heard a loud crack and suddenly felt the branch give way. She didn't know what was happening until she was on the ground, her arm numb. It was just registering that she had fallen out of the tree when she saw someone lean over her.
"I'm okay," she said, but her voice sounded far away. "I think I just fell a little bit."

Elodie breathed a deep sigh, reaching up to lightly touch the freshly woven flower crown resting on her head. She'd never made one with wire before, and likely wouldn't again, but she did admit, it certainly held up much better. The Bloomfest Flower Crown Making had been fun, but Elodie didn't see any reason to stick around any longer after she had already put her own together. She'd woven her crown out of pale pink peonies, flowers that she had grown fond of due to her mother regularly growing them.
Adjusting the crown on her head, she set her sights on the castle, hoping to make her way back up to her dorm, perhaps do a bit of reading. However, before she could make much progress, her path was interrupted by a large shape plummeting down out of a tree ahead of her. Elodie yelped in alarm at the sight, jerking back and blinking a few times, before it registered that the thing that had fallen was a human. Eyes growing wide, Elodie glanced around, scanning for a teacher or authority figure of some sort, before darting forward and leaning nervously over the collapsed girl, eyes wide and dark brown falling around her face like a curtain.
"I'm okay, I think I just fell a little bit."
"You did, yeah," Elodie confirmed in a nervous squeak, gaze quickly scanning over the girl--a fellow Hufflepuff, if her tie was anything to go by--for any potential injuries. One of her arms was tucked under her, and it appeared that she had landed that way, which probably didn't bode well. "Okay, okay, um, here--" She crouched down beside the girl and slowly helped her sit up, one hand sliding beneath her back and the other cupping the back of her neck, to avoid moving her head too much and possibly doing more damage.
"C-Can you walk? We should probably get you to the hospital wing."

As she lay on the ground, the figure standing over confirmed what had just happened to Amadea. Everything was so bright and loud. That probably wasn't a good sign, she figured. She squinted up at the concerned looking girl. Atop her head was a beautifully woven flower crown. She must have come from the Blossom Fest. Amadea had been meaning to go over and make herself a crown, but she simply hadn't found the time between classes and homework and exploring the castle.
The girl bent down and helped Amadea prop herself up against the trunk of the tree. She tried not to wince, but failed as another jolt of pain pierced her arm. That was definitely not good; she had probably landed on it during her fall and broken something. Hopefully a little magic would be able to fix it right back up. She realized that the girl was talking to her and tried to focus enough to listen to her.
"C-can you walk? We should probably get you to the hospital wing." That was a good question. Amadea told the girl as much. She attempted to get up, bracing herself against the tree as she stood. She took a second to adjust herself and looked at the girl. "It appears as though I can stand," she said. "Perhaps I should head over the hospital wing. You don't have to come if you don't want to...it will probably be pretty boring. Oh, thank you for the help!" she added. "I appreciate it. I'm Amadea by the way."

Elodie managed a nervous little smile as the girl commented that her question was a good one, keeping her arms outstretched cautiously, as if to catch the girl if she slumped back towards the ground. One would imagine that, with a nurse for an uncle who had been sure to educate her on the basics of first aid, she'd be able to keep her head a little better in a potential medical emergency--especially considering she wasn't the one injured. Still, though, the nervous energy that had surged inside of her when she saw the other girl fall was pumping through her veins.
"That's good," Elodie said with another timid, uncertain grin when the girl confirmed that she could, indeed, stand up, though her hands didn't drop back to her sides. "I'll walk you up to the hospital wing," she stated decisively, half-lowering her hands as the two of them turned towards the palace. "It looked like you hit your head kinda hard on the way down--you might pass out or something." That'd be awful, if the girl passed out on her way up to the hospital wing, especially if she was alone. "I'm Elodie," she said sweetly, finally beginning to relax as she returned Amadea's introduction. "It's a pleasure to meet you, even if the circumstances were a little...unfortunate." There was a moment of quiet, and then Elodie cleared her throat a little bit.
"Just so you know, there's a very nice climbing tree down by the lake," she commented with a tiny grin. "More stable branches, probably."

Amadea tried to walk normally. She didn't want to worry the poor Hufflepuff that was clearly shaken after seeing Amadea's spectacular fall. This was not something Amadea wasn't used to; she was quite clumsy and always managed to break something or fall. It wasn't a great quality of hers and she certainly hoped it wasn't one of her defining qualities. She tried to stay upright so she wasn't leaning heavily on the other Hufflepuff girl. She hoped that she wasn't too heavy.
"Thank you again for your help," Amadea thanked the girl again. She was such an angel to be helping Amadea walk to the hospital wing. Even though Amadea was sure her arm was fine, it might be good just to check and make sure. "Passing out would definitely not be the best thing to do," Amadea said. "I'll try not to do that."
The girls continued on their way and the Hufflepuff introduced herself as Elodie. "I'm Amadea," she introduced herself, agreeing about the unfortunate circumstances. Any other day, Amadea would have been pleased to meet this girl.
"Oh that's good to know!" Amadea exclaimed. She loved climbing trees, and hadn't ever climbed that one before, but she had really wanted to see the grounds from up above. Clearly, it didn't end well. Amadea would have to note the sturdier climbing trees down by the lake. She wondered if Elodie had climbed them. "Do you often climb trees?" she asked.
