Born on a dewy Wednesday morning in France to two renowned wizards; Aeson Sohn (a Korean-English Alchemist) and Esmée Vieux (a French Aristocratic Witch and Writer), who were both born into well off families. Klaus was raised in the Vieux Manor somewhere in rural Lyon with Esmée being the absolute Matriarch, making him the second-in-line heir to the Vieux manor.
Since the age of four, Klaus and his family had already been made aware of him displaying small but noticeable signs of magic. The first signs had been when their family cat stole his teddy bear, and out of pure frustration, he inadvertently lifted up the feline with his magic, and pulled the teddy bear out from its teeth. From witnessing this, his muggle maids ran to his mother in panic to which she responded happily and altered their memories of the event. The cat too was affected by this, scared, Klaus had made it do his bidding up til now.
Klaus had no control over his powers, hence having spent most of his childhood homeschooled and in isolation; no interactions with other children of his age before he was sent to attend Hogwarts. So, he kept himself company by reading books and feeding himself endless knowledge of anything and everything, especially History.
After his tenth birthday, he lost his mother to an illness which left him and his father grief-stricken. This has also caused the relationship with his father to flounder - unable to look at his son the same as he had resembled so much of Esmée - thus, becoming more strict and upright towards Klaus’ wellbeing. After a year of mourning, Klaus was sent to London where his father’s work had been based to start anew. It also didn’t take long for him to receive the letter from Hogwarts.

One of the most notable and wealthiest Wizarding families in France who achieved pure-blood status in the early 1400s, and are well-known for their purist sentiments. For centuries, the family has dabbled successfully in muggle currency and assets by investing in properties, with the help of their skills - magic and manipulation - to ensure growth in the value of the lands they’ve acquired. Distant family members are scattered around Europe, while the general member can be found living at the main house which is stationed at Lyon, south of Paris.
Currently, Enzo Vieux is considered the current patriarch of the Vieux Manor after the sudden passing of Esmée Vieux.

Tumas Josue Vieux (1356-1441)
The tyrant forefather who established the pure-blood status of the Vieux family tree by eradicating all blood-related muggles and squibs. He was a wizard who had worked as an employee of the Bureau des Magicommunications in the French Ministry of Magic. He was renowned for his harsh honesty and determination for puritanism. It was rumoured that before his passing, he casted a curse amongst his family and future bloodline to whoever chooses to break the purity.
Sterling Rowan Vieux (1386-1436)
The only son of five children by Tumas. It was known that, unlike his father, he had empathy for the muggle beings. And though he shared the same kind of determination, he was more focused on wealth and power than puritanism. In secrecy, he would go out into muggle cities and interact with nobles, gaining loyal connections added to his hard-working and greedy nature, he was able to acquire his first land in central Paris.
Kenza Leola Vieux-Sow (1603-1711)
The first ever female head of the family, and longest living member to date who passed away at the age of 108. She was renowned to be a very wise and intelligent witch philosopher who wrote countless books through the eyes of a witch who’s been interested in the lives of muggles.
Aegis Reid Vieux (1745-1830)
The only member to have studied at Durmstrang Institute where he practiced the Dark Arts like it’s his religion, and was the first member to be sent to the Prisoner of Azkaban for using his magic to torment muggle hobos on the streets all around Europe, even going as far as to murder a handful of them. It was known that he possessed great hatred for non-wizarding folks, and even shown the same treatment to half-bloods or muggle-born wizards and witches.
Tierra Winter Vieux (1920-1995)
The second ever female head, and the only one who lived to be unmarried, only baring one illegitimate son after one drunken evening. She was known to be a very successful auror of her time.
Tumas Enzo Vieux (1950-2008)
The only son and direct heir to Tierra Winter Vieux. Just like the famous forefather of the Vieux family, he possesses strong ideas on puritanism. He graduated with high honors from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and went on to become a prosperous auror. He was arranged to marry Chloé Barkat, a wealthy pure-blood witch, by his mother who was afraid that his son would grow old alone and committed only to work just like she did. The two went on to have a happy marriage and conceived two children, Esmée Rose Vieux and Enzo Maximus Vieux.
He later on passed away due to a tragic calamity from one of his cases.

Chloé Rainn Barkat (1955-present)
The second oldest of seven children to a wealthy French wizarding family. She had attended Beauxbatons where she first met Tumas Vieux. They were sorted in different houses, but this didn’t hinder her from developing a crush on the popular young wizard. It was rumored that she had begged her parents, who were familiar with the Vieux manor members, to arrange the marriage between her and Tumas.
She is seen to be very stern alongside her husband, having taught her children the proper etiquettes of a member with an upper class status. And while her husband was away, busy with work, she was mostly in charge of the manor.
Enzo Maximus Vieux (1990-present)

A middle-class South Korean muggle-born family who migrated to London, England in the late 1970s in hopes for a better life. The early lineage were of wizards and witches who have lost knowledge of their wizarding legacy over the years due to squibs who have married muggles. It is known that members dating back to mid 1700s were made of excellent wizards and witches who have become great Aurors - which most likely was the source in the lack of magic within the bloodline.

ReducioBorn in July 6, 1985 and was the oldest of two children to Tumas Vieux and Chloé Barkat, who were the heads of the pure-blood Vieux Manor. Her younger brother, Enzo Vieux, and her were very close as they had always looked out for each other growing up.
She entered Beauxbatons Academy of Magic and excelled academically, especially in Herbology and Transfiguration.
Growing up, despite having carried herself well to keep up to the family’s reputation and success, she was notoriously known for being a “rule breaker” in which she broke the family rituals and way of life that’s been passed down generation to generation by doing the things the way she wanted.
She achieved everything a Vieux has achieved, but in her own way.
This had become the sole reason for her ill-relationship with her parents, especially her father who was strict and uptight about their family culture.
She moved to London, pursuing her career as a Writer in Hogsmeade where she met and fell in love with muggle-born wizard, Aeson Sohn.
She was the first one in the family history to have married a muggle-born thus breaking the rich pure-blood status, much to her family’s dismay.
They conceived their first son, Klaus, days before the passing of Tumas Vieux due to a tragic calamity working in the Auror field which caused his life.
The sudden passing had forced Esmée to officially take on the title as the new matriarch of the Vieux Manor - as only someone fully raised as a Vieux can take on such rank, while Enzo was still finishing his last few years in Beauxbatons.
She decided to fly back to France to live in the Vieux Manor where she raised Klaus, while Aeson stayed back in London to continue working his Alchemist job. Only reuniting during festive holidays, and other celebrations.
She eventually fell ill and passed away shortly after in 2018.
The illness was unknown, but it had been reputedly said by Chloé, that it was a curse passed down the lineage to punish those who attempted to break the rich pure-blood status.
ReducioBorn on February 23, 1983 as the only child to doting Korean parents; Junhyuk Sohn, a squib, and Naeun Kim, a regular muggle (who was exposed to magic through Junhyuk) in London, England.
His father discovered his son’s magical nature at the age of seven and thus introduced him to the world of witchcraft and wizardry with pure excitement and joy. They’ve celebrated the time he received his Hogwarts letter in 1994 by having a luxurious dinner, and has been supportive ever since.
Aeson Sohn was sorted into Ravenclaw, and eventually excelled in Potions and Alchemy when he reached his sixth year. He was named Prefect in his sixth year, and was Head boy in his seventh.
After graduating from the school, he pursued his dreams on becoming an Alchemist. While his proud parents retired and flew back to South Korea, where they’ve settled down in the countryside.
He met a beautiful French Witch Writer, Esmée Vieux, while walking around Hogsmeade and through there they fell in love and eventually got married. He became aware of Esmée’s family history, and knew that he wasn’t entirely welcomed by the family but that did not hinder the love they had for each other.
They conceived a beautiful son, Klaus Sohn, and due to unforeseen circumstances, the patriarch of the Vieux Manor passed and Esmée was forced to become the new matriarch. This caused her and their son to fly back to France to live in the Vieux Manor.
Aeson wanted to leave his job in London to follow, but was threatened by Chloé Barkat (Esmée’s mother), and thus could only visit occasionally to be with his loved ones.
This didn’t last long until he found out that his wife had fallen tragically ill and passed away shortly after their son’s tenth birthday. This took a toll on Aeson, guilty that he couldn’t spend as much time as he should with his family, and blamed himself for the cause of the illness due to the “curse”.
After flying to France to attend the funeral, Chloé returned Klaus to him and asked that the both of them return to London as there was no need for any half-bloods to taint the Manor.
Frustrated, hurt, and miserably angry, Aeson followed the orders of the woman and brought Klaus back to London where they lived in a luxurious terrace house provided under Esmée’s will, along with the wealth she left behind for them.
He eventually became releasing his anger onto Aeson, as the child had resembled his late wife and was the proof of the loss.
