"I still remember the first time someone said it. The first time that I heard that amazing phrase. You're a wizard." This moment certainly held a special place in any muggle kids heart but for Eli it meant belonging somewhere. It absolved his fears and set him on a path to learning who he truly was meant to be and hopefully to the truth about his parents.

Eli Hunter, known as Eli Samson at birth, was born in America. For the first five years he was raised by his parents with a seemingly normal life. Then a month after his fifth birthday he found himself taken away by strange adults he later discovered was the Ministry of Magic. Eli was taken to the home of the Hunter family. Muggles that lived in Corris, Wales and took Eli in knowing of his heritage. They lived together in the small village and the love shared between them was clear for any to see. Eli grew to be a kind, albeit mischievous, young man. He was a round face young man with brown hair and hazel eyes, lean enough given his enthusiasm for going outdoors. Things started to feel happy for Eli, he had more attention to help him grow and though it took a long time he eventually stopped asking about his birth parents. Eli lived a muggle life this way until he was eight years old. While on a hike in Snowdonia National Park Eli found himself once again drawn to his favorite spot where almost every time he met the same friend, a fox. Eli couldn't explain precisely why but the fox never attacked him or showed him aggression. Eli knew this wasn't exactly normal but like most young children he didn't think much to question this. Every time Eli and his parents hiked in this park the fox would find him. When their eyes met Eli knew intelligence were behind those eyes. But when he arrived that day he found a group of kids who bullied him most of his time in school for being born American trying to throw large rocks at the fox. One brandishing a stick to keep the animal back.

Police and paramedics later arrived to the scene baffled by the situation. The young bullies had all been thrown into a tree with enough force to break bones. When believed to be some kind deer attack the investigators became even more puzzled when the three claimed Eli had done it. Eli had been terrified of what might happen if someone found out he had in fact caused the boys to be thrown. Or at least he thinks it was him. He never laid a hand on any of them but he couldn't deny the strange feeling he got when thinking angry thoughts at them. What if his parents were angry, what if he was some kind of freak? After that day Eli knew something was different about him and a few days after the incident the truth had finally been revealed. He was a Wizard. From then on he immersed himself in any and everything magic, as every young boy does. Eli found himself mostly drawn to mythical beasts and transfiguration, deciding early on to become an animagus when he went to school long enough. Eli also became fond of potions given this was a way he could actually be apart of magic and maybe learn a few things to get ahead in school. It mostly resulted in him cooking up stinky liquids he would later use to prank others. Eager to set off into his new life Eli counted down the days on his calendar until his eleventh birthday.

The day had finally come, the day he was able to set off for Hogwarts and fulfill his calling. The entire day before his departure Eli went over the list of what he was taking again and again. Unpacking the items to inspect them before repacking his luggage. Every night for the last week he sat up at night holding his wand, staring at it and trying to feel the magical bond it had with him. The temptation to try and use a spell was nearly overwhelming but Eli managed to endure. The day he stepped onto platform nine and three quarters he knew this was where he belonged.
