History

Silverwood Enterprises.

The corporation’s name does not go unuttered when introducing a new wizard to the world they have just entered. It's the community’s go-to for high-end Quidditch products including brooms, balls and gear. Starting as a small broom shop in a municipal borough of London headed by Søren’s grandfather, the company grew to an immeasurable size. While most people knew the SIlverwood name, not many could place a face to its members. One could not even imagine the large number of Silverwood siblings, nor the family’s newest entrant on August 5th, 2008.

Søren was born with a silver spoon, and no, his parents did not let him learn how to use it on his own. He was showered with wealth from the minute he entered the world and one might be confused about the choice to send him to Hogwarts rather than a ‘more dignified’ private school or even homeschooling. Søren’s parents, while they allowed him to be pampered from the clothes he wore to the food he ate, believed it was necessary to send him to Hogwarts for the name of the family. They also believe that Søren will be able to begin networking in his final years at the school, but they have not elected to tell him that yet.

It was not a surprise when Søren, angry with the gift he received for his birthday, caused the thing to dismantle in front of his parent’s eyes. They had been waiting with bated breath for the day he showed signs of magic. Praying even. They knew that squibs were rare but they believed that if it happened to the family once, it could happen again. Once Søren’s magic ability showed, the Silverwoods breathed easy. They gave him even more of the finest toys and clothes and began to mold him into the ideal Silverwood, just as his siblings - ah - most of his siblings were.

Personality

Søren is a naturally extroverted kid. He loves people. Where some of his siblings get tired of being showboated at parties and galas, Søren revels in it. He loves the spotlight on himself and he knows every way in the book to catch people’s attention. He tries to befriend every person in the room, no matter their age or background. He’s got the networking down to a T and he doesn’t even know it yet.

He’s only eleven, but he’s wised up a bit over the years. No one likes a spoiled brat, he’s learned. So no, Søren won’t get upset with his parents when they give him gifts he doesn’t want nor will he shout at the help or laugh at others’ misfortunes with money. At least, not in public.

Aldrich and Margaux Silverwood

When Aldrich tasted gold, he refused to return to the poverty-soaked roots of his family. He was alive to see his father’s mishandling of money which led the Silverwoods into debt and he also lived through the family’s resurgence after their small broom shop took off. Since then, he has made a promise to himself to never let any of his children face that kind of strife. While one could argue for his Hufflepuff tendencies, Aldrich was a Slytherin through and through, he planned his life strategically to produce the outcomes he desired. He did not marry for love, but he definitely learned to love the woman who became his wife.
Margaux was raised in a rich family, much like her children. She had no worries, did not try hard in school and cruised into a job at her family’s potion-making company after graduation. After being married off to Aldrich, she left that job and took up one within the Silverwoods’ new corporation. However, Margaux did not slack off. She was fierce and competitive; the ideal partner for Aldrich and the perfect Slytherin.
While both parents cared deeply for Søren and provided him with everything he could ever want or need, neither were very present in his life.

Whitley Silverwood

The oldest sibling was bound to be estranged from the others. Whitley grew up with an immense burden on his shoulders. His life was already laid out for him from the moment he was born; enter Hogwarts, become a prefect, graduate as head boy, join the company, take over the company. There was never any wiggle room nor the image of it. Because of this, he barely paid attention to any of his younger siblings. He focused on school and nothing else. Søren could probably count the number of times they have spoken to each other on his hands

The first non-Slytherin of the family, Thatcher had it easier than Whitley. While his family urged him to do well in school to upkeep their image, he was never burdened with extraneous responsibilities or expected to run the damn company. He did have cushy job waiting for him under his father and brother, but elected to take on a different path instead. The Gryffindor chose to become an Auror which fit more with his personality than a business job did.

The only non-magical member of Søren's immediate family, Addison is somewhat locked away from the wizarding community. To say her parents are ashamed of the squib is an understatement. Yet, they continue to provide for her so that she may never need a job or cause a ruffle with the family's name and image. Søren feels like Addison is his closest sibling as she is always around the home. They play together often and have a good repertoire. Søren likes to think that Addison would have been a Hufflepuff if she had gone to Hogwarts.
