edea was born on the twelfth of january in the year 2008. from birth, her parents would dub her as a "feisty child", always determined to win each of her battles. for the first few years of her life, their daughter was a ray of sunshine, and one who was always set on getting her way, even in the simplest things. one might have heard such tales and thought edea to be a spoiled child, yet this was not the case. as many children did, she would go through her phases. however, she rarely threw tantrums as it was. rather, she preferred to use her cunning and determination to win her battles. as a toddler, this skill was not well developed, of course. yet, some examples of said cunning would be when her parents responded to her requests with a simple "no", and she would opt to skirt the rules set before her. should her mother forbid her from having dessert before dinner, she would wait for her mother's back to be turned before climbing atop the counter and allowing her thievish hands to snatch a cookie from where it hid within the jar. perhaps to her parent's dismay, her skills only seemed to improve as she grew older.

perhaps edea might have grown to be an outgoing young woman, beloved by all of her peers. however, her bright future was cruelly snatched from her grasp the day her mother died, four years after her birth. the tale that had been spun for the child was that she had contracted an unknown disease, which had ended her life. too young to question or fully understand, edea mourned in a way that a child who lost their mother would. she cried. some days she forgot of what had happened, and would call for her mother, only for the realization to strike her. the older she grew, the more permanent the grief became. she was expected to move on, and yet she didn't. her mother had left a hole in her heart that she could not seem to fill.

the girl would begin to isolate herself from her peers, distancing herself from those she had once called friends. she took to reading her father's books nearly obsessively, or to playing the piano, for the notes produced at her fingertips distracted her worried mind. she was addicted to the thought of magic, with very little understanding of the subject. she became convinced that once she was accepted into hogwarts, she would be able to learn a spell to raise the dead. and so she watched her father with obsessive tendencies, hoping for a glimpse of the magic he was capable of. unaware of her true desires, her father encouraged her interest, often allowing her to read his books under his watch.

when edea finally received her acceptance letter, she was elated. however, her spirits were soon crushed, as her father revealed the truth to her. he would explain that her mother had not died of an illness, but she had been murdered. years of her life, planning out just what she would do once she was capable of magic, all gone to waste. she had been left in the dark for nearly her entire life, and it ignited a fire of distaste for the man she called her father. he had lied to her for so long, he had betrayed her in every sense of the word.

and yet, she hid her thoughts and feelings from him, observing as her carefully constructed plan unravelled and reformed within her mind once more. perhaps along the way, she might learn a way to bring her mother back. but first and foremost in her mind, she desired revenge. she longed to deliver justice to whoever had stolen her mother from her. and so, she swore she would learn their identity, and become strong enough to defeat them.

charles is edea's father, and the man who raised her for most of her life. edea is rather close with him, though she currently holds a grudge against him for hiding the truth from her for so long.
