The Past of the Sohma Clan (Up to Selim's Birth):
Reducio
Selim comes from a pureblood family known as the Fausts. Their bloodline can be traced back to the Warring States period in Japan when it was merely a small clan made up of largely fighters who were skilled in stealth and ambushes. They had the ability to use magic, though refused to use it in battle for fear of backlash. To keep this ability pure, they married inside the clan, not having many options outside it.

Often, back then, they were hired by specific groups to fight for them in battle, during which they stuck purely to using weapons and hand-to-hand. Time passed, and the Warring States period ended. The clan became quite large.

They gained enemies over this time though, and ended up still continuing to fight their foes in the shadows. This continued for years until something happened. The Sohma clan split in two after having a massive disagreement over whether or not they should use their magical abilities more willingly. The fight escalated to infighting, and the clan was separated.

One side kept the surname 'Sohma' and the other changed their last name to 'Kuroda'.

The two sides fought in secret as it was a family matter and they didn't want the outside world to know of the battle. They were uncaring of how time passed around them as they focused on their fight in the shadows.

In 1920, the Sohma clan was to move to England. The Kuroda clan had become more forceful, and had joined the Sohma clan's other enemies. The Sohma Clan head decided to try and escape the battle due to the heavy loss of lives and hoped that England would grant them a new chance in life.

Their numbers were still a bit too large though and it as decided they wouldn't move all at once, as it would be too suspicious. So, small groups moved, the gap between one group and another being staggered.

For a good number of years, the groups stayed separated, all of them lying low, but building up lives and jobs, changing each of their last names publicly, but still personally identifying as Sohmas. They learned the customs of the English, and blended in with the culture as best they could. None of them married during this short period of time, still wishing to keep the bloodline pure. Contact was still kept between the separated clan members and once they gained enough money they pooled it together.

They met up in the outskirts of London, in the forests. The clan head cast a spell to keep muggles away and an illusion to mislead unknown wizards out of the area. They began to build up a home large enough for all of them (which ended up equivalent to a small village), the clan compound

Eventually, they joined the Wizarding community, registering themselves instead as the 'Faust' family (A choice made by the clan head, who was quite fond of the novel 'Faust'). While their surnames were legally 'Faust' on paper, among themselves and in the secrecy of the compound they still referred to themselves as Sohmas, having too much pride to fully rid themselves of the name. They also continued to keep true to Japanese culture, partially in honor of the lives lost in battle with the Kuroda, partially for the familiarity and comfort of it.

They ended up giving children two names, one for the public with the surname 'Faust' and one for within the clan, having the surname 'Sohma'. To keep track of these names, they built a building in the center of the compound, known as the 'Archive'. This building held the two names of every clan member, and the past of the clan itself.

They lived without incident in peace for a good number of years, though almost completely cut themselves off from the outside world when WW2 struck and when the Global Wizarding War began.
During that time, no one heard from the Fausts, some may have forgotten them, and some may have remembered. During this time, the Sohma's were largely self-sustaining, having practically become a small village. They trained their children within the compound walls teaching them magic by themselves, and not daring to let the safety of their kids lay in the hands of wizarding schools. There were enough experienced magic users in the Sohma family for this to work, though some newer magical skills were usually left unknown by most of the clan.

When the wars ended, the Clan head decided to start training the clan to fight as their ancestors did once more. He decided this after becoming paranoid over the wars, the threat of the Kuroda resurfacing in his mind. Years passed, and the next Clan head decided that they should be keeping tabs on the Kuroda, experienced fighters and magic users were sent out to search for any trace of them, and then spy on them.

It was found that the Kuroda was still active, and had grown in number. This new information strengthened the rule to keep the Sohma name secret, and had urged the clan to start making more interactions with the wizarding world as the 'Fausts', strengthening their front.

Tabs were kept on their wayward relatives in blood as years passed by.

Eventually, the clan decided to start sending some of their children to wizarding schools to strengthen their ties to the Wizard World. Their paranoia, though, made the number of children sent to magical schools few and far between for fear of their enemies discovering them. A total of four clan members were sent to Hogwarts, though they restrained from sending anyone there with the rise of Voldemort for safety. Those that learned in the schools brought their skills back to the compound so homeschooling was more efficient.

When the modern days came, they had grown in number, but were lacking in funds. Making a decision, the clan head proposed to start selling products. Thus, they began growing fresh herbs and spices, mixing them together to make an exquisite blend that made meal taste rather delightful. Upon releasing the product, they slowly gained more and more buyers, restaurants, small businesses, and home cookers loved their fresh blends, and it was easy to meet their demands with the use of magic speeding up their production. Their spice company was aptly named 'the Faust Spice Trade'. Along with this, they began to dabble in making drinks such as apple cider and wine. Their wine was less popular, but the apple cider ended up turning out delicious, gaining a few buyers of its own around thanksgiving and Christmas.

Despite this, it was a struggle keeping up with the paperwork. So, in 2008, they searched for ways to help. Upon finding that computers were now often used to help businesses, they decided to try them out for themselves. The 'Faust' clan decided that computers were an efficient way to replace the papers tied to having a business of their own. They continued to keep their computers up to date to keep the business running at peak efficiency.

Things were going quite well, and, in 2010, a new Clan Head replaced the old one, his name being Charles Faust (Or, Sohma Hitoshi). He and his wife, who's name was Elizabeth Faust (Sohma Ai), worked well together to run the clan. Eventually, in that same year, they had a child. Charles gave him his clan name, Sohma Hisoka, Eliza then chose his other name, Selim Faust. The name 'Selim' was inspired by the French name 'Salem', and meant 'Complete and Perfect Peace'. Eliza adapted the letters to make the name more unique, not really knowing it would make it seem like an Arabic name. Selim didn't bother asking the origins of his name when he got older because he didn't much care. He just assumes that it was an Arabic name, not an attempted variation of a french one.

Before Hogwarts [Selim's Backstory]:
Reducio
Selim had always been an odd child, showing signs of high intelligence at a young age, and having a rather bemusing interest in snakes. Despite his quirks, he was, at first a normal child, with a relatively normal life within his clan compound.

Then everything changed. An event happened to him Selim at the age of five, enemies of the clan infiltrated the compound and kidnapped Selim. Before anyone could react, they escaped. Selim was trapped with his kidnappers for a few weeks. He was rescued by his clansmen, but was haunted by the event. The captors were all eliminated while the five-year-old was being rescued, but the kidnapping had struck a crippling blow to the pureblood clan.

Due to what was dubbed as 'the Incident', his clan cut off as many ties as possible to the wizarding world. This caused them to fade from many's memories, though there were a few who could recall the name 'Faust'. Due to still needing to keep trades up, the Faust clan still held a good connection the muggle world to grow the funds needed to keep a small village running, and a few muggles may still recognize the name, if it's mentioned to them (Largely thanks to the highly popular 'Faust Cider', and their brands of teas 'Twin Snakes').

As expected, he showed his magical abilities at the age of six, when he fell down the stairs and injured his wrist. Due to the pain, he caused a small torrent of papers on the kitchen table to fly wildly about the air before settling when his butler came to help him.

As he grew older, his intelligence bred curiosity, and his curiosity led him to become quite gifted in the sciences, largely Biology and Chemistry. Often, he'd hole up in his room and try and learn everything he could about science, writing down notes, and creating theories. He mostly got the idea of Biology and Chemistry from the internet while browsing it out of curiosity, (As his father had given him a computer so that he could use their trading system).

When he turned twelve he got his letter from Hogwarts. As a result, the whole clan was thrown into turmoil, the secretive family all unsure of what to do about this new problem presented to them.

The clan elders called a conference. They all argued with his parents about Selim going to Hogwarts, saying that he could be in danger after 'the Incident', and they didn't want to risk such an asset to the clan again. Selim's parents debated against them, listing out all the logical reasons for Selim to go to the prestigious wizarding school. The debate lasted a whole day, and Selim heard a good chunk of it when he was serving tea and meals to the council and his parents.

He had seethed when he was talked about like a pawn in a chess game, but kept quiet, settling for glaring coldly at the floor as he waited for them to finish their meals. Eventually, they all agreed to let him go without even asking him if he wanted to. He was sent away to live alone in the outside world, with strangers, inside a castle that couldn't be breached from the outside, isolated.

The boy wasn't sure what to expect after that, but the coming years would soon birth a massive upheaval in his life.

The Change:
A lot can happen in two years.

In Selim's first year he forged exactly one relationship, with a redheaded boy by the name of Jack Burnett. Almost immediately after meeting the two gave each other nicknames. Selim dubbed the ginger 'Fox' and Jack dubbed Selim 'Fangs. During that time they were rather close, often seen together during school, as a result, Jack was the first to see that there was something distinctly 'off' about Selim's homelife.

Eventually, secrets were spilled one fateful night in the boy dormitory's showers, and from there everything began spiralling down. Selim grew more paranoid, less composed, and tried to hide from the public view. Creeping in shadows, going out past curfew, and isolating himself from his only companion.

The signs had begun, but it would be far too late before anyone noticed the degrading of Selim's mental state.

Eventually, the blend of 'paranoia' and insomnia brought with them physical deterioration. The boy's immune system began to worsen, he began getting sick, began seeing things that weren't actually there, and somehow from that state things just worsened.

Jack soon confronted him, bringing him to the hospital wing to get treated along with a new companion, one Ruka Tân, who was also having issues with their self-care. During that time, Selim snapped, soon ending up prone on the ground due to something only he could see.

As the year passed, the boy only seemed to recover briefly before his decline continued, and by the end of it he was back home for the summer, where events happened behind closed doors, secrets festered, and paranoia ran rampant.

During this time he was only seen briefly during the infamous Slytherin Fight Club. There, Selim refused to participate in the battles and instead stayed above ground, talking to a certain Ravenclaw, and witnessing the attack of a shadow being that looked much too similar to himself. There he saw one Victor Moor perish from the creature of darkness.

After that Selim returned for his second year, personality drastically changed. For the first few months, he seemed fine if a bit unstable in character, but that wouldn't last long.

During that time he met a particularly sharp Hufflepuff named Kazuo Shimada, who immediately sensed something off about the thin Slytherin boy. After that, he took it upon himself to try and help Selim, tricking him into arriving at a small-scale event put on by the past Professor of Astronomy, Leonardo Chiadovini. There Selim experienced another break, overwhelmed by the crowd he snapped, falling into hysterics and promptly seeming to go almost catatonic.

After being taken to the hospital wing to recover, he seemingly 'disappeared'. The boy's conditions had worsened, and as a result, he tried to stay away from the other students as much as possible. He was only seen in classes, where he mostly kept to himself in a corner rarely participating at all other than just being present.

He no longer slept in his dorm, instead, hiding away in some nook or cranny in the Common Room during curfew, he kept to the edges of everyone's vision in the corridors between classes, and rarely showed up for mealtimes (And if he did it was only to grab food and then hide away who-knows-where).

These habits continued throughout the rest of the year, his free time was spent in the dungeons of Hogwarts, where he met a few interesting dwellers of the dark. Around the time of the 2021 blossom ball he donned a rabbit mask, and from then on never seemed to be without it or his hand puppet, Akuryō. He took up the hobby of making animal masks, of leather and cloth, eventually setting up a spot just for them in the dungeons so they wouldn't be disturbed by his fellow students.

For a brief while during the summer, he kept to the dungeons, focusing on making masks. There he was found by Kazuo Shimada, who took it upon himself to convince his own parents to forcibly, but legally, adopt Selim from the Faust family on suspicions of Selim being mistreated there. Neither of the boys knows how they exactly accomplished this, as the whole process was left in the hands of the adults.

Selim, thrown into shock was then taken from the dungeons and into the folds of the Shimada Clan. He got treatment for his ailments and was retaught how to deal with a reality void of constant paranoia and hallucinations. Now safe from the clutches of his clan, Selim is set on the road of recovery, hopefully for good.

But who knows what will happen in the uncertain future?

Personality:
Selim is a rather ambiguous boy when it comes to his 'personality'. Sometimes he seems laid-back and lazy, full of witty remarks and odd excuses as to why exactly he was late to class (One of his favorites seem to be 'I got lost on the road of life'). Other times though, he's sharp, cold, professional, and analytical.

Other personality traits he seems to switch between is an impish boy, ready to cause trouble and mess with those around him for his own amusement. Or perhaps he's that quiet boy, in the back of the class, who seems to be lost in his own little world, speaking in murmurs to nothing, eyes darting around to the shadows int he corner of the room, as if he saw something in them no one else could. Or maybe he's that kind boy, who offers warm smiles and amused eyes, who speaks in a soft tone, light, free of burdens as he reads with you in the common room in the middle of the night.

To even fewer, he's the world-weary, broken child who hides from those around him and avoids meaningful connections to his peers.

But all can agree he's a mystery... enigmatic, unpredictable, and intelligent.

Though even then, one has to wonder if that is actually the truth, if what they see is what's actually underneath that pale, exhaustion-riddled face and wavering eyes.

Perhaps no one will ever know.
Appearance:
Hair- Solid black with a choppy cut, slightly wavy, two bangs frame his face while one bit of bangs falls in the middle of his face.
Height- 4'9
Eyes- His natural eye color is amber, but he wears contact
lenses to give himself slitted pupils. His Eyes are also narrower due to his Purely Japanese Heritage.
Skin- Almost sickly pale. (Despite his Clan having largely Asian blood, they still grew up in an environment with less sunlight)
Physique- Slim, Average height
Style- When he doesn't wear the school uniform, he wears a doctor's coat over top a grey t-shirt and baggy grey pants. He's taken to wrapping bandages around his scarred neck and around his scarred hand, he wears shoes, sometimes, and also occasionally wears white gloves. Usually his coat has inner pockets where he stores all sorts of things, and he often carries around a grey shoulderbag full of school necessities, and perhaps some things for tea.
Other- He has a snake-like smile. He has many scars on his torso that seem suspiciously deliberate (Though not self-inflicted, as there are some scars that he wouldn't've been able to reach on his own), these scars have been hidden from the view of most.

Name: Akuryō
House: Slytherin, Third Year
Date of Birth: July 10th 2020
Species: Talking Rabbit Hand Puppet?
xxxxxxxxx
☖☗☖☗☖☗☖☗☖☗☖☗☖☗☖☗☖

Akuryō's Past(?):
Akuryō (Previously known as 'the Cruel One', nickname; Aku) is a hand puppet that Selim can use ventriloquism to make talk. He doesn't make up its speech, necessarily, no he hears it as a voice, though not technically in his head (A byproduct of Selim's Auditory Hallucinations among many other things).

The first time Selim heard the voice was late 2020, during his month or so long break from reality. It was vague at first, among many other voices and noises he heard, but over the summer it grew louder, more identifiable, along with a few other voices.

The voices are an enigma, Selim isn't sure if he created them to attach to the metaphorical masks he slipped on in certain situations, or if they existed before and Selim attached the masks to them. He honestly tries not to think about it too much, it gives his tired brain a headache.

The Cruel One was one of these voices, and gradually over his second year became the more prominent of the bunch. He started to seize control of Selim's mind and put it in a vague resemblance of order. (An odd coping mechanism for the extreme stress it was under)

After a disastrous night in the astronomy tower, the Cruel One almost seemed to have snuffed out all the other masks/voices, being an almost constant companion to the degrading boy. Occasionally Selim can hear the muted voices, and can just barely pull them out of the shadows of his mindscape to use as masks, but back then it was getting harder, and the exhausted boy was struggling with such an action.

Close to the time Slytherin wandered the dungeons in yet another dangerous event, Selim finally named the Cruel One so responding to him would be easier.

He named the voice Akuryō, meaning evil spirit, fiend, or daemon in Japanese, then swiftly shortened it to 'Aku' as a nickname.

He started to speak to the voice out loud, likely looking insane in the process, and he himself took on a more solid personality made up of his splintered one from before. Aku became a constant, and Selim had begun to warm up to him thanks to his ability to help his mind focus a bit better and his ability to muffle the sounds he heard that didn't exist.

(Unknown to the boy, his brain had made this all up to try and cope with his mental instability and constant stress.)

Of course, sometimes Aku didn't assist him, since the voice wasn't what one would call 'kind'. In fact, Aku was rather selfish, sadistic, cruel, and immoral.

(Perhaps his mind had segmented off parts of Selim's personality that he feared, his mental turmoil giving it life and a voice. The brain is a complex thing.)

After the event Slytherin dealt with in the dungeons, Selim began to spend his free time learning ventriloquism, and along the way began to cobble together a rabbit hand puppet. He wanted to use it to give the voice a physical form, so it would separate from his mind even more (another way to cope, one could say).

As for why he chose Aku to be a rabbit? Well, his reasoning is so that the voice will seem less creepy because rabbits are considered 'cute'. Sadly Selim doesn't have the ability to make anything look cute, so his attempt was rather futile. The hand puppet still looks creepy.

He then brought the puppet everywhere, making him even stranger in the eyes of his peers. Luckily, the insomniac had stopped caring about looking normal anyways, much too exhausting.
Personality:
Reducio

Akuryō is not a pleasant being. He cares not for the life of others and would eliminate anyone or anything in his path to reach whatever goals he has... if he wasn't a puppet, that is. The only person he likely wouldn't outright betray is Selim, seeing as how he's technically part of the boy, and without him, well, he wouldn't exist anymore.

He's a rather cunning 'rabbit', enjoying manipulating others and making them bend and twist however he wants. He uses people as tools for his own gain, and would not hesitate to injure or decimate them in the process.

With an insatiable curiosity, Aku tries to search for answers to his idle wondering, be it taking apart one thing, experimenting on another, or seeing how far he can push something until it breaks in two. Many would dub him a 'mad scientist' in pop culture.

The being is rather cruel, and sadistic, enjoying the sufferings of others and laughing at their misfortune with no shame.

He has a dark sense of humour, one thing Selim can partake in with amusement, and often says inappropriate things at very bad times. Selim doesn't bother stopping his relaying of the voice's words, and is, in the end, often blamed for them.

The only minusculely good thing about Akuryō is that he helps Selim organize his thoughts and will occasionally drown out his hallucinations so they don't affect him as badly. His reasons for doing so are likely selfish.

All in all, he's a little hellion that nobody, other than Selim and a select few, are willing to deal with.

Appearance:
Reducio
Coloring- Aku is vaying shades of purple with accents of white, black, and grey.
Eyes- He's adorned with two button eyes, one black, and the other purple (because Selim ran out of black buttons).
Physique- He looks like a rabbit, with patches here and there and long ears. Of course he has no lower body, so is stuck with a torso, head, and two stumpy arms.
Style- He has a mini tophat and a dark purple bowtie, very dashing.
Other-He has a full set of teeth carved from rat bones in his mouth, sharp as an owl's talons, and patches over varying parts of his cloth body from mistakes Selim made while making him. His voice has a hissing quality and an off voice due to Selim's struggles in pronouncing a few constants and vowels.

Selim Faust's Character Index
Facts about Selim (that have Been Revealed in RP)
- Selim Has trouble sleeping because he fears sleep to a rather unhealthy degree.

- If Selim is exhausted enough to sleep, he tries to force himself not to because he often gets Sleep Paralysis. His Sleep Paralysis is caused by a terrible event that happened within his Clan that left a life-long impact on the boy.

- When he does get Sleep Paralysis, a monster is created in his half-asleep state that visits him. He calls this monster 'The Sallow Man'. The Sallow Man is one of his very few fears.

- Selim believes in the idea of 'Equivalent Exchange', and becomes much easier to work with if the idea is implemented by the other party.

- Selim has troubles casting spells due to his wand refusing to work properly with him. He deduces that the reason his wand is so non-compliant is that his logical mindset may make it hard to grasp magic, as he often sees things through a rather scientific perspective.

- Selim is forever negatively impacted by an event in his past that gave him his scars. His aggressively fearful reactions to the memory can sometimes be triggered, and can render him near-hysterical unless he can be broken out of them. So far, at least five people have witnessed his mental breakdowns.

- At a young age, Selim was forced to kill a rabbit to get used to the idea of possibly ending other living beings in the future for his own safety or for sustenance if trapped alone in he wilderness. This event remains stark in his mind

- Selim has harmed someone he's close to before. He still regrets doing so to this day.

- Selim only trusts two people in the world.
Relationships
Reducio
Hufflepuff:
Willow Anderson - A girl that approached him during one of his bouts of training, after sketching him, they conversed. This girl helped Selim fully realize that there was something darker lurking in the shadows of Hogwarts.

He's Apathetic towards her.

Crystal Jagger: This girl interrupted Selim's self-training session to ask if she could teach him martial arts. Selim wasn't impressed and denied her request.

Kazuo Shimada: This is one of two people that has a contract with Selim. Selim thinks the boy sees him as a broken doll to be fixed, or a bug to observe like an experiment. The boy, in fact, cares about Selim for some reason and was annoyed that no one has intervened to help his degrading mental health.

As a result, the boy pushed his parents to adopt him, despite him not being up for adoption, and, somehow, that worked. Whatever went on behind the scenes of that event is a mystery to both of them. Now, Kazuo is his adoptive younger brother, and also no longer goes to Hogwarts.

Honestly, that's probably for the best anyways.

Gryffindor:

Rafael D'Spacito: Selim met him one night while he was out past curfew and decided he had the likings to an irritating peacock with a thick skull.

Alan Vanes: Selim decided that this fourth year would be an interesting specimen to experiment on, because he was a Metamorphmagus. Sadly, that'd be illegal.

Ruka Tân A boy his contractual partner decided to 'adopt'. The lion is rather possessive of Jack... but Jack is also possessive of him. Personally, Selim thinks the preteen is a bit too dependent on Jack, but he's not going to try and bother pointing this out again.

The boy's a bit irritating, but Selim can tolerate him.

Ravenclaw:

Vladimir Athanatos: A cunning teen Selim met during the blossom ball (After trying to steal the boy's possessions... which was successful) and almost stabbed. He also knows he has some hand in gathering all the Slytherins up and making them fight in an illegal fight club. Selim escaped early and had a little chat with his disembodied voice, which wasn't too bad, honestly. He also met him again in the fall ball, and was trying to keep his idiotic peers from flinging spells at the boy. During this time Selim was struck by Erin Ryan and had his face badly injured (And got a concussion). He met up with Vlad in the hospital wing, and the Ravenclaw tried to assist him (Though it didn't go smoothly due to Selim's stubbornness). [RP ongoing]

Selim knows he's intelligent, manipulative... and mildly annoying.

He made a good cup of tea though, a pity he died.

Sylvain Wyllt: Wyllt is an interesting boy. Selim met him when he was temporarily Hisoka (Another persona long forgotten). The prefect immediately tried to care for him upon finding him freezing by the lake during winter. The boy seemed concerned, acting much like an older brother and taking him to the hospital wing for healing. Selim had a panic attack, which really just made the Ravenclaw more protective.

Selim doesn't know what to think of him, in fact, eh barely remembers him.

Kaegen Deathmote: An upperclassmen Selim met in the depths of the dungeons. The boy, a dhampir, found Selim and Aku in his domain and claimed them as his own. He saw things very similar to how Selim saw the world, and through that they connected with a deeper understanding than Selim had with anyone else. The dhampir dubbed him 'Tea, promise-warden', and claimed him as the 'Third Hand of the Monster'. He also renamed Aku, dubbing him 'Mushroom, cloth-smile' and claimed Selim as the 'Second Head of the Monster'.

Selim readily accepted the new role, and now roams the dungeons with him. Both of them promised to protect the other.

He was seen as a friend, but also a master. Rather strange, but better than most he'd forged ties to. Sadly, now that Selim is more lucid, he can only sympathize due to their similar experiences but isn't exactly in that same odd world any longer. Still, the boy appreciates what the upperclassmen did, it's a pity he hasn't seen him since.

Slytherin:

Jack Burnett: Selim's cunning contractual partner, and one of only two people he actually trusts. The Fox (Burnett's Nickname) was rather possessive of him, which Selim couldn't be bothered to try and fix. He was stubborn and insisted on staying with Selim no matter how many dark truths have been uncovered. It was honestly rather reckless of him and has caused him so much pain.

Selime hated him at the time, there was no logic behind that, he was having a break from reality after all. Now that Selim is lucid though, he has a greater appreciation for what he did, and greatly regrets everything that happened as a result of it.

Victor Moore (Scarecrow): This boy has issues, and also doesn't seem to approve of Selim.

Selim doesn't approve of him either, no matter what Jack says (And no matter if Selim can relate with the scarred boy to a slight degree).

Now he is dead, again, but this time it wasn't Selim's fault. So at least he doesn't have to live with the guilt of snuffing out his life, he'll leave that to the one who actually did the deed.

Percival Rainwood: A dormmate that helped Selim during the 2019 Blossom Ball, Selim would be fine with having tea with him once in a while.

Often has on and off crushes on girls. Selim thinks he should wait until he's twenty to even bother with a relationship... that's when males' brains are fully developed enough to maybe have stable relationships.

Opeila Winters: She likes to lecture Selim, even if he doesn't want to be lectured. She also tried to attack Selim with her wand once (it didn't work). She's a pretty decent test subject though.

Now that Selim has mellowed, they can actually have proper conversations that don't end up with him pinning her to the ground with a jujutsu move.

Persephone Barret A smart, logical girl. Selim thinks she'd be pretty good a chess.

She helped him through a mental breakdown during the last few weeks of his first year.

Sometimes he thinks that that event made some sort of... connection between them... he doesn't exactly know if it's a good one or a bad one. He hasn't seen her since.

Ileen Knight A rather clever girl, with a kind personality she only shows to those she feels at ease around. Though, she can have a sharp tongue and fiery temper whenever she sees fit.

Sometimes, Selim imagines that if he had a younger sister, she'd be like her... but that's just wishful thinking

Hanako Tone: Too flamboyant and loud for Selim's tastes, hates Selim, and his cat, but definitely enjoyable to poke fun at, his reactions are priceless and never-ending entertainment.

Flash Holmwood: An odd boy Jack seems to have taken interest in. One that Selim ended up traumatizing for life, one who is now paranoid of Selim.

Honestly, it's valid that he is, but Selim doesn't think he's dealt with it all very well. In fact, perhaps he should get help from a psychologist, as he did. So far, the results of his choice have been rather positive, after all.

Thomas Lestrange An intelligent boy with many plans. Selim helped him during the 2020 Blossom Ball with an easy mission after the preteen invited him. He seemed a bit distractible, but that might've been the firewhiskey the boy was drinking.

He hasn't interacted with him since.

Percival Gray: Selim's roommate, both of them respect each other, largely because Selim believes he's deserving of respect, seeing as how he's the most logical student he's met in this cursed school. They don't have much of a relationship beyond being roommates, but whatever they have is fine for both of them.

Erin Ryan: The once-almost-hag girl. Both of them leave each other alone, she keeps to herself, and Selim has absolutely no problem with that. Beyond the makeup incident from her first arrival to their now non-binary dorm, he has no issues with her.

Her emotionless nature actually reminds him of his birth mother, which is weird, but honestly, he'd suspect the two would get along. This is saying a lot because his birth mother didn't even get along with her own husband.

Vale Ashwood: A newer dorm member, one Selim finds curious, the girl approached him first, and they had a bit of a conversation. Selim showed her where he made his mask and showed her around the dungeons he once spend an unhealthy amount of his time in so she wouldn't get lost if she ever found herself lost in them.

Selim sees her as a little sister.

--There were other dormmates Selim knew, but he didn't know them well enough to classify them in any sort of way.--

Staff/Professors:

Kelsey Brumby: A nurse in the Hospital wing that treated Selim both when he was Hisoka, and when he was Selim. He's one of the two people that know Selim's true name. Selim doesn't trust him, but that's not saying much because he trusts no adults. In his third year, though, when Selim was far more lucid, he assisted the man after an unsurprisingly disastrous fall festival by assisting the wounded. That same night they sat down and had a proper conversation. The nurse offered him a position as an intern, and Selim accepted.

He now doesn't fear the man as much as he does other professors, he's the first step to Selim getting over his paranoia around adults.

Leonardo Chiadovini: The once-Astronomy professor, and one he fears deeply, no thanks to his imposing presence. The man has taken an interest in Selim after noting him in a little 'insomniac get-together' that the Slytherin was tricked into going to. It was an unfortunate time to meet, as it was the catalyst for Selim's mind splintering. They met once more in the time after Selim's relatively disappeared from public view. The professor came upon him in the astronomy tower... which didn't go well, of course.

Selim saw Prof. Chiadovini as a person to fear as much as the Sallow Man.

Though now he no longer resides at Hogwarts, Selim thinks there's a high possibility that he'll see him again.

Kit Paine: The Castle Caretaker. Selim met him in the dungeons and was confronted by one of his personas. The man tried to help him but failed, much as others did. They made no connection beyond that of an adult worried for a child.

Selim avoids him.

Extra
-Speech: His voice is actually quite soft, just above a whisper, but spoken clearly enough to be easily heard. He has a slight mix between a strong British accent and a slight Japanese one that’s odd to hear and hard to explain; when he speaks English the British is more prominent, which is the opposite of when he speaks Japanese.

-Familial Relationships: Currently his relationship between him and his parents is rather negative. His strongest bond is with his older ‘brother’, Corvus Faust, who he actually has affection for. He enjoys spending time with the head family butler as well.

-Likes: Snakes, Ravens, Rain, Thunder, The Night, Fog/Mist, Apple Cider, Knowledge, Muggle Sciences, Psychology, Reading, Observing People, Debates, Battling Wits with People, Trying to Figure People Out, Physical and Mental Puzzles, Messing with People, Watching People Try to Figure Him Out, His Older Brother, Jujutsu, Wandering, Silence, Solitude, Challenges, Politeness, Professionalism, Clear Set Boundaries, Equivalent Exchange, Sushi, Earl Grey Tea, People Who’ve Educated Themselves About Japanese Customs and Etiquette, When People Try to Get Under His Skin (and Fail), Learning Things, Logic, Shakespeare Plays.

-Habits: He's Evasive when Answering Questions, often he overthinks things. When he's anxious or a particular memory rises up to the forefront of his mind in unstable situations with other people, he scratches himself, a common way highly anxious people deal with anxiety. The most common places he scratches at are his neck and the arm Aku is perched on. Slowly he is getting better at restraining that anxious tic though, but in high-stress situations, it sometimes returns.
