History/Background Story

Erika grew up in Munich, Germany, as the only child of her wizard mother, Brigitte, and muggle father, Gilbert. She went to a normal muggle school her entire life and her mother didn't use magic much, having adopted "the muggle way of life", so she had no knowledge of her magical heritage until her powers began to emerge. It was only then that her mother revealed the existence of magic to her. Not long afterwards they made the announcement that they were moving to England for her to attend her mother's childhood boarding school. Well, that was the main reason given at least.

They moved to Manchester just before her tenth birthday and the sudden uprooting of her life in more ways than one left her feeling lost. She began to distance herself from her family and spend more time with her new friends. The cherry on top was when her mother announced her pregnancy as a Christmas surprise. Erika continued to hold a grudge against her parents until her little brother, Finnian, was born the summer before she enrolled in Hogwarts. While she still acted coldly to her parents at times, she fell in love with her baby brother and, in turn, spent more time with and began to grow closer to her mother and father again.

When she finally left for Hogwarts, she promised to stay in touch, despite not being much of a writer and being rather unfamiliar with the ways of magic. She entered the school with an opposition to magic, mostly stemming from knowing that she was at a disadvantage because of her inexperience.
