History/Background Story:
5th May 2008: Serena Bowen is born to Aurors Neal and Sarah Bowen at St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.

11th August 2012: Serena shows her first sign of magic. Serena had spilled her cereal and milk all over herself. Her beloved stuffed rabbit, Mr. Bun, was placed on a tall counter by her father so that the rabbit wouldn’t get dirty. Serena, however, wanted Mr. Bun. So she stuck her right hand out, and Mr. Bun flew towards her. Her father was so happy that she had shown her first bit of magic that he gave her a big hug disregarding the fact that Serena was still covered with food.

9th September 2013: Neal and Sarah have to both work on a critical mission for the Ministry, so Serena is left at her Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Peter’s house for the first time. This is the first time that she is away from both parents. Serena is inconsolable for the rest of the day.

10th September 2013: Serena is still upset until Aunt Elizabeth asks Serena if she would like to play on the piano in the sitting room. Serena wanders over and sits down at the piano bench. She plunks out a note and gives a small smile. Serena keeps pressing random notes and giggling at how it sounds. Finally, she turns around and asks Elizabeth to teach her how to play.

25th December 2013: Serena is given a keyboard for Christmas. Now she can practice at home in-between her lessons with Elizabeth. Serena gives her mum and dad a big hug thanking them profusely.

4th March 2014: While Serena is practicing on her keyboard, a knock is heard at the door. Serena goes to answer and opens the door to see a Ministry official. The official asks if her mother is home. Serena turns and calls for her mum. When Sarah reaches the door, the official says words that Serena will never forget. “Neal has gone missing while on a mission to take down a group of Dark Wizards. We’re doing everything we can to find him.” Sarah stays strong until she thinks that she’s alone. Serena hears her mother break down. She walks up to her giving her a hug. They stay there holding each other for hours.

8th November 2015: Sarah receives an Owl saying that Neal has been found and is currently in St. Mungo’s. Sarah shouts for Serena, who comes running down the stairs. Sarah wastes no time in Apparating them to St. Mungo’s. After being directed to Neal’s room, the family shares a tearful reunion. The Dark Wizards who kidnapped Neal are quickly found and await trial.

5th May 2016: Serena’s 8th birthday. Neal spoils her by giving her an upright piano to replace her keyboard. When Serena protests that it’s too much, her father says it’s to make up for missing her 7th birthday. The room becomes quiet at the reminder of her father’s long absence. Serena gives her father an extra tight hug and accepts the gift without complaint.

8th-13th April 2017: After doing desk work for over a year, Neal is assigned his first field mission since he was kidnapped. Serena shows her support for her father, but on the inside, she is terrified that something will go wrong and that he won’t make it home this time. For the entire mission, Serena practices piano to give her something to focus on to try and combat her anxiety. On the 13th, Neal returns unharmed, and Serena feels the tension leave her body.

11th August 2018: The trial of the Dark Wizards who took Neal begins. Serena does not go to the trial, but her father testifies. After the verdict is read that the group will be in Azkaban for the rest of their lives, Neal comes home. He breaks down, relieved that the nightmare is over and he can officially move on. Serena over-hears him and holds her father while he cries.

5th May 2019: Serena’s 11th birthday. That morning, she receives her Hogwarts letter. She excitedly shows the letter to her parents. Neal and Sarah promise to take her to Diagon Alley soon to get her supplies.

10th June 2019: Serena goes to Diagon Alley with her parents to buy her school supplies. She is most excited at the prospect of finally getting her own wand. When it finally comes time for her to go to Ollivander’s, she is jumping up and down with excitement. After trying three wands, the one that chooses her is a wand made out of chestnut that is 21.4 centimeters with a dragon heartstring core.

1st September 2019: The day has finally come for Serena to board the Hogwarts Express for the first time. Serena hugs her parents extra tight and can’t help the tears that come out of her eyes. She’s excited to attend Hogwarts and make new friends, but this will be the longest time that she’s been away from her parents. Serena can’t help but be sad at that thought. However, her father wipes the tears from her eyes and says that “Your mum and I are just one owl away.” Serena nods and gives her mum and dad one more hug before boarding the train.

At the welcoming feast, Serena is sorted into Hufflepuff.

Serena and her mother have a very close relationship. Sarah always makes time to spend with her daughter, despite being a full-time Auror. Sarah made sure to teach her daughter basic Muggle self-defense techniques after Neal's kidnapping.

Serena looks up to her mum and wishes that she had Sarah's bravery. Serena is grateful to her mother for teaching her how to defend herself but hopes that she won't have to use it someday.

Serena worries a lot about her dad, especially when he first started working in the field again. However, she admires her dad's perseverance and strives to be as dedicated as him.

Serena stumbled into the Rehearsal Room, expecting to practice piano. What she saw instead, was a gathering of some kind. She decided to stay and encountered Evelynn Decipio and Dale Kurt, both of whom were acting very flirty towards her. Despite being very confused, Serena decided to go off and talk with Evelynn in a more private setting.

At almost three in the morning, the Hufflepuff Common Room suddenly caught on fire. Serena did her best to help, however, she couldn't help but be reminded of the Masquerade Ball in October. Serena is now even more afraid of fire and is starting to have a hard time sleeping since it seems that her dorm isn't even safe.

Sometime over Easter Break, Serena visited Diagon Alley to look for an outfit for the Secret Blossom Ball later that month. Before she headed back home, she decided to stop into Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor. There, she accidentally bumped into a boy around her age.

Serena decided to go to the Blossom Ball with the boy she met earlier in the month, Damion White. After changing in the Changing Rooms, Serena walked out to meet him. She wasn't able to get a dance or any socializing with her date in before things went south. While Vampire Mosps and fire ravaged the Quidditch Pitch, Serena stayed frozen. Finally snapping out of it, she ran away from the whole affair without even checking to see if her date was alright.

Hello, the name’s Parrish, but feel free to just call me by my character’s name! It’s nice to meet you! If you would like to RP with Serena, please owl or dm me on Discord first. I try to write at least 350 words per post, but this can sometimes be less or more, depending on my mood. In real life, I am in my fourth year of college. I try to work on replies at least once a week, but my classes keep me quite busy during the semester, which leads me to be slow with replies sometimes, especially during finals week.
