Wand: 33,9 cm ash wood and unicorn hair
very flexible, attracted by the naturally lucky wizards
Ash Wood: "The ash wand cleaves to its one true master and ought not to be passed on or gifted from the original owner, because it will lose power and skill. This tendency is extreme if the core is of unicorn. Old superstitions regarding wands rarely bear close examination, but I find that the old rhyme regarding rowan, chestnut, ash and hazel wands (rowan gossips, chestnut drones, ash is stubborn, hazel moans) contains a small nugget of truth. Those witches and wizards best suited to ash wands are not, in my experience, lightly swayed from their beliefs or purposes. However, the brash or over-confident witch or wizard, who often insists on trying wands of this prestigious wood, will be disappointed by its effects. The ideal owner may be stubborn, and will certainly be courageous, but never crass or arrogant."
Unicorn Hair: "Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard. Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may ‘die’ and need replacing."

Nick stands at 150 cm. with a very average build for his age. He has a very pale complexion with no freckles, scars, or defining features. He has dark brown hair that falls wherever it feels like. His eyes are so brown they're practically black. His eyes are big and round, one of the most prominent features of his face, and he sports a rounded turned-up nose.

Nick tends to be pretty average when it comes to his tidiness. He isn't super clean but he tries his best not to look unkempt. After years of keeping his house tidy, those habits translated over to his own appearance. The only thing that always looks unkempt is hair. No matter how much he combs it, it always falls all over the place over time, mostly because he always absent-mindedly runs his fingers through it

Coming from an almost completely Scottish background and being in Scotland his entire life, Nick's dialect is extremely Scottish. In the beginning of his first year, his accent was practically inaudible to anyone not from a Scottish background. It's gotten better during his time at Hogwarts but it shows through when he gets aggravated.

⦿Personality⦿
Nick is a pretty chill guy. He doesn't care whether he's alone writing or hanging out with some friends. Being reserved, though, he spends most of his time alone. He isn't the most charismatic but he covers that flaw with having a strong sense of humor. He has a pretty sarcastic sense of humor that he sometimes uses too frequently.

In most cases, Nick will be calm and collected in a situation, other than occasionally being caught off guard and becoming flustered. All of that is thrown out the window when he gets angry. He puts his emotions over thought and will even get physical at times. This comes a lot from the toxic masculinity and aggressive nature that his town imbeds into its youth, specifically the impressionable boys.

Nick has a hard time connecting me. He only really gets close to people after years of getting to know them. His dad left at a really young and impressionable age and he thinks that it's all his fault. This caused him to have a strong fear of abandonment. He takes extreme measures to avoid rejection or separation, even with his mom.

⦿History⦿
Pre-Hogwarts:
Reducio
Caelan Stewart is a Wizard-Born wizard that resides in Stoneywood, Scotland for his entire life. He resides in a small house in the village with his mother. Caelan is his Scottish Gaelic name meaning Nicholas, so he prefers to go by Nick. Some people don't even know that his birth name is Caelan despite knowing him for years.

Nick's mother is Cairstine Stewart. Cairstine is the Scottish Gaelic version of Christina so she normally goes by Christina though. She's an Unspeakable so all Nick knows about her job is that she's gone from 6 am-9 pm doing who knows what every day. Despite that, they still have a positive relationship with each other, mostly because she's his only parental figure in his life.

Gordon Baird, Nick's father, abandoned the two of them when Nick was only six. Gordon and Christina met at Hogwarts and eventually she became pregnant with Nick. Christina and Gordon grew up in a very religious part of Scotland so they were forced to marry after that which upset both of them. The two of them stayed together at first because Christina wanted Nick to have a father despite the two of them not getting along.

That changed for Christina as time went on. Gordon grew more and more frustrated having to devote his time to the child he didn't want. That frustration turned to anger, and that anger turned to aggravation toward the two of them. Fearing Nick's safety, Christina hastily filed for divorce with him and won full custody of Nick. He took off and the two of them never heard of him again, not even paying for child support.

During the process of the divorce, Nick ended up having his first magical experience. It was being finalized, and Nick didn't want to go to the courtroom anymore, it was boring and he didn't want to see his father anymore. He was pouting outside of the house and frustrated, Christina tried to grab Nick's wrist to force him into the courthouse. Out of nowhere, he appeared on the top of the courthouse. He tried to get to down and ended up having to finalize the divorce in with a broken arm.

Nick became very independent at home thanks to his living situation. He quickly learned how to cook, clean, and tend the house, mostly so he can alleviate some of the stress that his mother has to go through. When he's not cleaning, which he learned to enjoy, he would go to a giant tree that he found slightly outside of town and just relax.

When he was eight, Nick started having a fascination with writing. He would fill his school notebooks with stories and have to keep replacing them since they get too full. For Christmas one year, Christina got him a notebook exclusively for writing. At first, the stories were a bit silly, like a pygmy puff trying to find its family, but his writing improved over time. He started to spend more at the tree, writing whenever there was freetime.
First Year:
Reducio
Being a Wizard-Born in the United Kingdom, Nick naturally got his acceptance letter to Hogwarts the summer before his First Year. He apparated to King's Cross and took the train to Hogwarts like almost every other student. Nothing that exciting happened on his way there. When he was getting sorted he had a premonition that he would get sorted into Slytherin and he did.

Nothing happened that was that interesting during the first semester. He did pretty well in his classes, mostly because he didn't have anything else to do. He particularly excelled at Transfiguration and didn't do the best in Potions, having it early and the day and normally dozing off in the dimly lit damp basement room.

Over the year, Nick spent a lot of time playing piano since he could get a lot more alone time than he did at home. He woke up really early almost every Sunday and venture to the rehearsal room where he could play piano without anyone knowing. Nick also spent the entire year finding a tree that was like the one he had at home. He finally found a tree and carved his initials into the tree so he remembers where it is.

In his second semester, Nick happily enjoyed all the candy that he could ever want thanks to all the different holidays that led to more sweets in the Great Hall, especially during Valentine's Day. He bought a chocoball from an older student thinking he could eat it, but it ended up being laced with Amortentia. One day while he was in the Slytherin common room, Nick lost the chocoball after he had this weird vision or something where his mom got eaten by a Acromantula.

A little later on, Nick also encountered a bunch of weird spiders with a lot of other Slytherin students in which he accidentally lit a girl's hair on fire and got bitten by one of the spiders and had to be given some antidote to bounce back. He still has some remnants on his skin of where the spider punctured him.

At the end of school, Nick went home and spent most of his summer keeping his house tidy and writing. Around mid-July, he got sent a letter inviting him to a mysterious tent. There he got branded by a number and had to fight a bunch of his fellow Slytherin classmates. That was pretty weird, especially since he had another one of those weird visions. His mom also got a bonus, which she gave some of to Nic. He used to it buy Chance, his new pygmy puff, that he has to keep a secret from his mother.

Cairstine "Christina" Eithne Stewart
Mother, Unspeakable, (March 11th, 1989-)

Christina was born in 1989 into a troubled household. Her father was rarely around and when he was he never acknowledged her. As for her mother, she was negatively affected by Christina's father's absence and that also lead to her mother neglecting Christina as well. This led to Christina being a rather troubled child in turn. She was very undisciplined and extremely defiant. Even with her constant defiance though she did really well in school and graduated school with good enough grades to land her a job as an Unspeakable at the Ministry of Magic.

In her sixth year of Hogwarts, Christina met Gordon. She fell for his rebellion and complete disregard for everyone around him. They stayed together for the rest of their Hogwarts career and then she got pregnant with Nick. Christina and Gordon quickly got married due to pressures from the town and Gordon's parents. The magic with Gordon soon faded away and Christina divorced Gordon for Nick's safety.

Christina never wanted Nick to feel the way she did as a child so she works really hard to provide for Nick while still trying to be there for him. She tries to have short hours so she can spend time with him, but still has to spend a lot of time at the Ministry. She's always been supportive of all of Nick's passions including his journalism.

Gordon Cinead Baird
Father, Unknown, (December 23rd, 1988-)

Gordon was born in 1988 into a rich family. This lead to him being extremely entitled since he got everything he wanted all the time. He thought the world owed him everything at that he could get anything he wanted. It was made even worse when his parents discovered he was a seer when he was in his third year at Hogwarts because he was a "rare breed of wizard" who needed to be treated like a king.

When he met Christina at Hogwarts he was a very bad influence on her. He convinced her into doing a bunch of stuff by making her believe that the future didn't matter. When Christina became pregnant with Nick, Gordon's parents forced him to marry her since they didn't want him tarnishing the family name. This made him extremely mad since this was the first time his actions had any consequences on him.

Gordon left Nick and Christina when Nick was only six. Nick really only knows Gordon as the guy who left him and Christina alone so he has a rather negative view of him. Nick isn't nearly as mad with his father as he should be though since he thinks it's partially his fault.

Birthday: February 16th, 2008
Age: 12
School Year: Second
Species: Human
Abilities: Charmer, Advanced Casting
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Sexuality: Straight
Nationality: Dutch
⦿Appearance⦿

Verena stands at 159 cm. with a slight more mature build than most girls her age. She has a warm mocha complexion with no defining features. She has crimped braided brown hair that falls exactly where it needs to be. She has wide brown eyes and a snobby turned-up nose.

Verena is very clean kept when it comes to his tidiness. She must maintain the image of the Marigold family so she keeps up her appearance extremely well. While it looks seamless, the amount of time it takes her to keep it up is far from quick. She is very clearly dripping with wealth, though, her hair always styled to perfection, and her clothes made of rich fabrics.

Verena's accent is a bit muddled, with it conflicting between French and Dutch. She's constantly switching from France to Holland, so her voice fluctuates throughout the year, especially since she tried to imitate her peers. It's mostly dependent on what language she's speaking, more Dutch when she's speaking Dutch or English, and more French when she's speaking French.
⦿Personality⦿
Reducio
Verena is a calm and collected girl, charming everyone with a affluent grace. Especially since she is currently the heir of the Marigold fortune, she needs to be the perfect girl that everyone's fascinated by. She kept to herself most of the time, conditioned to care less about friendship than her studies, which made her mysterious to her distant peers. She radiated a sense of calm that made everyone around her enchanted, so much so that people were intimidated coming near her. It was like she had a magnetic forcefield, everyone was drawn to her but never came too close.

When outside of the public eye, Verena radiates the same level of kindness, but is a lot clumsier. She is very book smart, growing up reading a lot, but she lives a closeted life and has a very weak understanding of how the world works. She goes around life with rose colored glasses and doesn't quite know how to handle unknown situations in a rational way. It is quite endearing in a way, though, making it easy for her friends to see her past the Marigold estate.

Verena isn't one to show too much anger and sadness, mostly because it's been oppressed, so she has a hard time relating to people who are. She tries her best to sympathize with other people, but it's very difficult to do so. She does care deeply for others, though, so much so she'll let them walk all over her. She's had to deal with a lot of people who use her obedience as an advantage.
⦿History⦿
Reducio
Verena was born into the Marigold family, a long line of pureblood wizards that have resided in the Netherlands for many generations. Their notoriety comes from their early defiance of the Ministry's rules against Muggles sighting magic, being reckless and sometimes purposefully performing magical acts in front of them. They most notably participated in the Roermond witch trial, where a lot of the family died because it. After this event and strict disciplinary action from the Ministry, they put full stop to their behavior. Since then, they've been accumulating wealth and trying their best to keep their name clear.

Cornelia Marigold is Verena's mother, marrying into the family through Kobus Marigold. Her family, De Vries, is also an old pureblood family from the Netherlands with close ties to the Marigold's that ended up with them being arranged to be married. Verena's father isn't Kobus, though, as she is the fruits of an affair. The alleged father is a French muggle-born that was best friends with Cornelia at Beauxbatons, Rayan Cambre. This makes Verena the first half-blood with the Marigold name in a long time.

Verena's tainted blood status remains a secret to everyone, including Verena, except Kobus and Cornelia. Kobus and Cornelia have yet to have another child than her, so they need to keep up the illusion that she's the pure heir to the fortune as to not tarnish the Marigold name. There's been Muggles in the tree itself, but the line that has inherited the fortune has been forced to be pure for a while.

Verena's parents, especially her father, always seemed to not be content with whatever she was doing, so that made her very obedient, constantly wanting to please the people who raised her. This lead to her spending much of her childhood learning and developing skills instead of having fun. Notable skills she was forced to learn include fencing, history of magic, dance, and being trilingual, Dutch as her native language, English as most Hollander children learned, and French in preparation for her Beauxbatons' education.

Despite her family's beliefs that blood status affects magical ability, Verena possessed a strong magical ability that showed itself late into childhood. When she was seven, she kept messing up the ballet routine she was being taught and got more and more frustrated. By the end of the day angry tears were streaming down her face, and suddenly the dance room she was in exploded. No one got hurt, but there was a lot of paying off people to make sure no one talked about it.

This natural gift has shown through when Verena started to attend Beauxbatons. Her early life studies made her well prepared, and she became a great student, particularly excelling at History of Magic. Her spells tended to be more powerful than her average peers, not anything extraordinary, but noticeable enough for her to get a position in the duelling club. When she isn't studying, she is dedicating her time to become a prodigal duelist.
