Kaylyn-Ari “Arrow” Willow was born on January 2nd, the coldest day of the year to Fiona and Daniel Willow. By both Muggle and Wizard standards, the Willows were a wealthy family, Fiona being a successful surgeon and Daniel being a high-ranking member of the Ministry of Magic. Kaylyn was their first, and only, child. Shortly after her birth, the Willow family relocated to a large home just outside London, England to be closer to Daniel's workplace and family.

Growing up, Kaylyn’s parents were both absent from her life, both of them being preoccupied with their jobs. This left Kaylyn at home with the maids and others who served her family. It had been ingrained into Kaylyn that these workers were less than her and were expected to follow her every command without hesitation. This instilled the belief that Kaylyn was superior to those around her.

Despite being practically raised being told she shouldn’t have to earn respect, it was her birthright, Kaylyn hated the thought of only being respected for what her parents had done, so she made it her personal goal to prove to those around her she was more than just her parents. This, to Kaylyn, meant diving head-first into studies and coming out top of the class no matter what. From the age of eight, Kaylyn was getting into the classics and dabbling in more advanced mathematical concepts. She excelled in school, always getting the top marks, until she was ten years old in primary school and she scored two points lower than a classmate on a test. All of the pencils and pens in the room exploded, showering everyone in the room with lead, shards of plastic and wood, and ink. At that point, her parents took her out of public school and got a private tutor for her until her Hogwarts letter came.

All in all, Kaylyn’s life has been sheltered and cozy, always being waited on hand and foot, being showered with gifts, and getting anything she wants, but instead of that making her lazy, it’s made her only more determined to make her place in the world. The most tragic event in Kaylyn’s life was the death of her grandmother (her father’s mother) and even then Kaylyn was hardly torn apart. In fact, at the funeral, while most were sobbing, Kaylyn simply shrugged and remarked that everyone died and it was just her Granny’s time.

Kaylyn is ambitious and determined, absorbed completely by her work so she can become successful and well-known throughout the wizarding community. She’s also incredibly intelligent, arrogant, and matter-of-fact, and often can come off as cold and indifferent. Adults who have met her have described her to be anything from “bright young girl with a bright future” to “a sociopathic replica of her mother”. She’s also been described as “manipulative”, “stuck-up”, “bratty”, and “destined to live off her parents fortune”. Kaylyn is more than aware of these labels and isn’t bothered by them- in fact she wears them proudly. After all, people think about her enough to bother giving her labels.

Daniel Willow


Daniel Willow grew up in a wealthy British family as the youngest of two children. His parents both attended Hogwarts and expected both Daniel and his older brother, Isaac, to do the same. Daniel displayed magic from a young age and seemed quite proficient at it, while Isaac took longer to display magic (but he eventually did on his tenth birthday).

Daniel did well in school, and Hogwarts is where he first met Fiona, who he would end up marrying, though he didn’t know that. Daniel graduated as top of his class with a job already secured in the Ministry following the summer. During that summer, Daniel and Fiona began dating, and, one year later, married. Two years into their marriage they had Kaylyn.

Daniel is a gentle, quiet man who often observes rather than speaks, but when he does speak, it is important. Unlike his daughter, Daniel is actually remarkably humble and kind, but doesn’t want to say anything to Kaylyn about her behavior for fear of pushing her away. Despite being absent quite a lot, he loves his daughter and wife more than anything in the world and would put them before work if it’s ever needed. He writes to Kaylyn weekly now that she is in Hogwarts.

Fiona Willow

Fiona Willow was born to a muggle and a wizard (who had attended Mahoutokoro). However, Fiona’s mother (the muggle) wasn’t aware of her father’s background. When Fiona first displayed magic at the age of four, questions began popping up, and when it was revealed that Fiona’s father had been a wizard this whole time, the pair divorced. Fiona ended up living with her father. Fiona studied at the Japanese wizarding school as a day student for several years until, when she turned eleven, Fiona’s father decided that Mahoutokoro was too grueling and he wanted Fiona to attend Hogwarts.

The pair moved to England and did well there. Fiona went through Hogwarts not with the best marks, but decent enough, and was known to be quite the eye-catcher. She went through dozens of boyfriends, none of them seeming quite right to her, until she graduated. In her last summer before she would attend a Muggle university, Fiona met Daniel Willow, a boy she knew from Hogwarts, and the two began dating, and eventually got married. After several failed attempts to have a baby, the two finally had Kaylyn.

Fiona is outspoken and hot-headed, easily getting into arguments. Like Daniel, she also is intelligent, but unlike him is quite arrogant, as well. She takes pride in the work she did to get to where she is now and dismissing all of her success is a personal betrayal to Fiona. Fiona loves her daughter greatly and wants to see her reach the same levels of success she did and is known to spur Kaylyn on when she’s being particularly brutal or rude.

Amelia Brinston


Amelia Brinston is the closest thing Kaylyn has to a friend as the Willow family's longest lasting maid. She has been working for the Willows for the past eight years, seeing Kaylyn through the worst of her bad years. Despite this, she's also seen Kaylyn's good side and has grown quite fond of the girl and sees her as almost a niece or younger sister.
