Personality : He isn't the type to go out of his way to speak unless spoken too when surrounded by new faces. No matter how bad he wants to make friends his nerves just prevent him from making the first move. You may label him shy for this behavior, but once the first barriers are down it couldn't be further from the truth. Oliver is an energetic, outgoing, chatter box with a roaming mind. He can start a topic as quick as he can forget it when hanging out with friends. He is the dog who gets distracted by the squirrel in simpler terms. This trait doesn't go over well with his teachers, but his classmates usually get entertained by it.
Not saying he is fearless (he closes his eyes during the scary parts in horror movies), but his curiosity and need for thrill overwhelms his fear majority of the time when it comes adventure. He is a person who gains energy from just being around someone. Meaning alone he runs in the dark; in a group or a pair he is walking through the woods in the middle of the night with zero fear. It would be an understatement to say Oliver puts a lot of value in his friends because of this. They are his crutch away from family, and even at a young age the boy will go through all sorts of lengths to make sure his friends feel appreciated.

History/Background Story:
Oliver Royal Simmons, an British-Asian boy of the age eleven. His tale would begin with a rather odd meeting between his mother, Hana; and his father, Francis. The pair had met in a Japanese wizarding community near Osaka; Francis being a Dragonolgist, was called in to pursue a Chinese Fireball who crossed the sea and was causing havoc. Hana had been in the area training for the qualifying matches for the Quidditch cup; she was a member of the Japanese national team at the time.
A few moments after kicking off the earth Hana had managed to find herself face to face with the dragon that Francis had been tailing for a few weeks. Francis had played the role of the knight in shining armor that day and the near death encounter formed an unbreakable bond between the two. After a few weeks of owling back and further between London and Osaka, Francis finally moved to Japan and the two got married on July 4th.
After traveling the world for the first few months the two finally settled in the wizarding community where they had first met. It wasn't until the evening of June 10th (8:14 to be exact) that the two had their first child, Oliver Royal. Named after a famous British Dragonolgist that his father had idolized and his middle name was in honor of one of his muggle uncles on his mother side who had passed. Having been two talented wizards in their own way, it almost came to no surprise that Olviers random magical outbursts came immediately and frequently.
As an infant the magical outbursts included floating mobiles above the crib, diapers appearing back in the diaper bag after just being put on, and an escaping act from the crib (well the crib itself would just vanish actually). As a toddler the experiences grew. By the time he reached age seven Oliver was enrolled in the wizarding school in Japan, Mahoutokuro. Although only as a day student (they flew back on the backs of Storm Petrels)Here they learned the basics, and simple introductions to classes. (No wands were allowed for students under 11) Oliver quickly grew fond of Transfiguration and Flying. However after four months as a day student, Oliver's father had been offered a job back in London he simply couldn't refuse.
The transition from Japan to England for Oliver was a rather difficult one. All he knew was the wizarding community and now the boy had to attend his very first Muggle school. On top of the drastic changes he had already faced, Oliver's English wasn't exactly the best. Being teased a lot his first year, Oliver turned to Japanese culture and entertainment at home. From manga, anime, to even a few rpg games; Oliver got used to living as a muggle. The following years at his muggle school the teasing died down, and he eventually had plenty of friends.
Even though he settled in to his new lifestyle, he always felt something was missing, and he longed for the days back Osaka and Mahoutokoruo. He contemplated many times to go move with his Grandfather to continue his studies, nut he sorta feared his Grandfather. A jolt of joy shot through his body when he received his Hogwarts letter. Finally, he would get back to where he belonged. Not that he wouldn't miss his muggle friends, but that's what the summers would be for, right?
The days leading up to his departure for his new school was filled with trips to Diagon Ally to shop for school supplies, and his dad lecturing him on everything to expect. His father was a Gryffindor and was almost certain his boy showed the same traits. For his father this moment almost felt like he was passing the torch. "Another generation of a Simmons lad in Hogwarts" His father would say. When the day finally arrived, and Oliver along with his parents were on platform 9 3/4 the moment almost felt overwhelming. Excited was the only word that could be used to explain how Oliver felt at the moment.
