Clem has always been a curious child (both regarding his inquisitive nature, and his precociousness), but is prone to fits of fancy. If he likes a subject, he has the tendency to fall headfirst into it, emerging hours later with half scrawled ideas and long sprawling to-do lists. Despite this natural enthusiasm, he is incredibly indecisive, constantly waiting for others to act before him, before he makes choices on almost any subject.

This indecisiveness is masked by his convivial appearance. Clem is, for lack of a better word, soft. Still young, his round face does not promise to sharpen as he matures, and it is complimented by a splattering of stray freckles across his face, as well as a scar on his left cheek that he received after a tumble down a hill as a younger child. His dirty blond curls tend to be tied back from his face, and he favors sweaters and scarves for casual wear, even in the heat of summer.

The fashion is a habit from his parents, who are both muggle professors at Oxford. Clem grew up as a slightly isolated child, surrounded by literature and academic conferences, which contributes to his air of oddness. But Clem grew up loved and loving - his parents encouraged him to explore what he loved, and when he grew bored with his schoolwork, they provided him other topics to consider in his free time. And that was his upbringing - playing hide and seek with school friends amidst cobblestones, sneaking into gardens to read, wandering the streets and befriending the stray cats long into the afternoon. 

Magic came into Clem's life long before he ever really realized it. There was a reason he could slip past security guards when sneaking into academic buildings, there was a reason his friends never found him during hide-and-seek, there was a reason that even though he fell down a steep hill into a forest stream, he escaped with only a superficial scar. But magic reared its head truly and fully when he was about ten. When he was ten, and his parents took away his flashlight, telling him he couldn't read at night, that he had school the next day and it was important, he was disgruntled. In fact, he was disgruntled enough that a ball of light appeared near him, allowing him to read. He couldn't explain it, and didn't want to explain it, and never told his parents about this occurrence - not until he received his Hogwarts letter.

ASPEN WOOD: Wand-quality aspen wood is white and fine-grained, and highly prized by all wand-makers for its stylish resemblance to ivory and its usually outstanding charmwork. The proper owner of the aspen wand is often an accomplished duellist, or destined to be so, for the aspen wand is one of those particularly suited to martial magic.

DRAGON HEARTSTRING: Dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most magic power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner. The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.
