if maggie was being honest, she wasn’t surprised in the slightest when she was chosen for gryffindor. she didn’t know much about it before she came to hogwarts, but she heard about it on the train and it sounded right up her alley. plus, she was your stereotypical gryffindor: loud, proud, and confident. the sorting hat had shouted “gryffindor” as soon as it had touched her head, and although the other houses were nice and all, maggie was very proud of this fact.⋆𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐝⋆

She lived with her parents and five siblings in a tiny, cramped house they could barely afford, and she had tons of amazing Muggle friends. She was what you’d call a “class clown”, she pulled pranks, cheated on tests, and, above all, loved to make people laugh. It was her goal, what she prided herself on, and, she was doing a great job. She was a clever student, too, she just didn’t really use that cleverness in the “right” way. Then, a letter shows up on her doorstep, and bam! She’s a witch. While she was excited at the prospect, she hadn’t bothered to open a book about it, and, truthfully, still hasn’t. She wanted to make it fun and exciting, and reading about it before getting there would ruin all the fun, right?

She’s doin her homework, albeit begrudgingly, and she’s made a group of friends with one similar interest: adventure. Her and four other students have decided to band together to fight the boredom of school with pranks, elaborate escapades, and, well, fun. While at Diagonal Alley, she learned of a wizarding sport that seemed interesting. She is eager to join the Gryffindor Quidditch team, though she has no experience in flying around on brooms. Another topic has peaked Maggie’s interest: dragons. Although she won’t be able to take CoMC for another year or two, the subject has definitely caught her eye. Until then, she’ll just have to see what happens...

Lily Parker: Lily is Maggie’s mother, and Maggie takes after her personality-wise. Lily is your classic firey redhead with a great sense of humor and a horrible temper. She’s kind, brave, and outgoing, and Maggie admires her greatly. Maggie inherited her mother’s blue eyes, but that’s about it. If Maggie had to sort her into a Hogwarts house, she’d sort her mother into Gryffindor.

Matthew Parker: Matthew is Maggie’s Dad, and he’s the opposite of her mother. While Lily Parker is bold, loud, and tempermental, Matthew is a quieter, more level-headed soul who is somewhat shy. He had brown hair that Maggie inherited, and naturally tanned skin Maggie was lucky to get as well. If Maggie had to sort him into a Hogwarts House, she’d sort him into Hufflepuff.

Jason Parker: Jason is Maggie’s oldest brother, as he’s 18 years old. He has brown hair and eyes, just like his father, though his hair is curlier than anyone in their family’s. He’s got an amazing sense of humor and he doesn’t take anything seriously besides his relationships with his loved ones. If Maggie had to sort him into a Hogwarts House, she’d sort him into Gryffindor or Hufflepuff.

Nancy Parker: Nancy is Maggie’s one and only older sister. She’s kind of Miss Perfect, good grades, popular, and she even plays football. She’s 16 years old, and her and Maggie have an amazing relationship. She would definitely be a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff, but Maggie can’t decide which.

Cooper Parker: Cooper is Maggie’s second-oldest brother, he’s 14. Like Jason and Maggie’s father, he has dark brown hair, but he’s inherited his mother’s blue eyes. He’s very different from his older brother, he’s a lot quieter, and he’s not as confident or extroverted as the rest of his family. In that sense, he takes after his father, and the two are very close. If Maggie had to sort him into a house, he’d be in either Slytherin or Hufflepuff.

Andrew & Aiden Parker: The Wonder-Twins, both eight years old. They both had red hair, like their mother, and brown eyes, like their father. Maggie had to admit, she often exploited them for her pranks, and they were great helpers. Like Maggie, they loved to prank, and they both had a dangerous wild streak. They’d be Gryffindors or Slytherins.

Sadie Parker: Maggie’s younger sister, she’s a carbon copy of her mother, red hair, blue eyes, and fair skin covered in freckles. She’s five years old, though everyone can already tell that she has the staple wild streak that was in most of the Parker family. She’d be a Hufflepuff or a Gryffindor.
fc: Rue PenelopeZoe Parker: Zoe is the youngest of the family, she’s barely a year old. She has bright blue eyes, and she’s an unusually quiet baby.
Charlotte Cadunt: Maggie didn’t even know Charlotte existed before she came to Hogwarts, but she bumped into her one day and found out that they were cousins! Turns out, Maggie’s dad and Charlotte’s dad are brothers, making the two first-cousins.

appearance: Owen Morrison is a stocky fifteen-year-old, of average height and muscular build. He plays Quidditch religiously, which is probably the culprit for his stocky stature. He has a square jawline, with deep brown eyes and constantly messy brown hair. He’s a got a wide, constant grin on his face and his skin is tanned from playing Quidditch out in the sun. He’s a carbon-copy of his father, who is European. His mother is also European, so, that’s his heritage as far as he knows. He’s got a number of scars from doing stupid stunts and taking even stupider dares— but he loves them because each comes with a funny story to tell. He has one on each knee, a long one running down his right bicep, two on his right hand, one on his forehead, and another on his left calf.
personality: Owen is a huge goofball. He’s got ADHD, so he’s always moving and can never sit still. He lives for making people laugh and for entertaining others, and he’s a very selfless person. He’s not independent, at all, but people are kind of drawn to him, and he’s popular at Illvermorny. He never really got the praise he sought from his parents, so it’s left him feeling like he’s never good enough, like he always has to prove something to someone. Hence, the entertaining, the popularity, and the Quidditch stardom. He can’t take anything besides Quidditch seriously, and he can always make a joke in the worst situations. He’s also infuriatingly optimistic, and he’s a total idealist.
ESFP - The Entertainer
history: Owen grew up in a cold, unloving family. He was the only child, and he’d always suspected that his parents had only had him so they wouldn’t stand out among blood-elitist families. Owen was but a mere object to them, and it impacted him more than he’d ever admit. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, and he loved it there, even if he was still living with his parents back then. He went to a fancy private school, one with wizard children only, and he never got the real experiences of elementary or middle school.
He had always felt so detached from the world, his parents never bothering to speak to him and the kids in his class being snobby brats he couldn’t think of socializing with without throwing up. However, when Illvermorny came around, Owen suddenly felt at home.birthday: april 18th

We can already get a sense of how Owen feels about his parents— not good. Their elitist views have been pounded onto him from a young age, but after a few weeks at Illvermorny, he was able to figure out how wrong they all were.
To spite them, he went out of his way to make muggleborn friends, and he tried to expose himself to the Muggle culture as much as he could during his four years at Illvermorny.
It seemed, however, that his parents weren’t the only ones trying to shield him from Muggles, the non-existent, looming threat. Rapport’s Law had been repealed long before he’d been born, but the irrational fear of Muggles was still ingrained into America’s wizarding culture.
Professors and students alike regarded muggleborns with a sort-of passive-aggressive fear, not of the muggleborns themselves, but of the connections they had. Owen, seeing as almost all of his friends are muggleborns, has always noticed how some ofthe Professors took extra care to ask his friends what they did over the summer, who they talked to, and where they went. Moreover, his friends kept getting extra-cirricular opportunities that they couldn’t pass up— and they all happened to fall on school holidays.
Owen, having been raised around a pureblood household, was familiar enough with the signs. The Professors, some, at least, were trying to keep the muggleborn students at Hogwarts out of fear of them exposing magic to the world.
Owen himself had gotten these opportunities, and he’d actually sought them out for some time. He hated being home— well, with his parents. Illvermorny was his home, despite the conflicts within its walls. Therefore, he’d taken up the newest opportunity, after hearing that his “pureblood presence might be helpful to his friends”, and he stayed over the summer to write letters to a Hogwarts student, @Bridget Collins. Who knows what will happen next?
@Solomon Lear, I added the small section about the current conflict at Illvermorny, if that’s ok? If not, I can take it down, but I thought this was a bit more clear.

I am not approving the listed dNPC relationships because that would have to be something worked out between yourself and those players. That said, love it if you guys have worked out being friends with one another, adds depth and will be useful with the coming event.
Being a pureblood, a lot of the strange happenstances that have been occurring might not be directly apparent however considering the fact that this is not your first year... you have an inkling that something is off. Ilvermorny is known to be one of the least elitist schools, and that is in a way true as they have opened their door to those with muggles in their family tree, but there is still something off. A lot of the students that have a lot of muggle heritage (or any really) seem to get a lot of "extra attention" from the staff in particular. They often say it is "to reduce the gap" and to "give them a bit of culture" so that they "can learn what they cannot in their homes." All true in a way, but the interest is not entirely ordinary.
Those with mixed heritages are uncommon due to Rapports law and even since the repeal there has been a culture of division that has persisted. Due to this, there are not many wizards that enter the school with a muggle heritage. You spend a fair amount of time with the few muggle-borns in your school, some of them good friends (if those relationships are true) so you find yourself given similar offers by the Professors for those "extra cultural opportunities" where your "pureblood presence may be helpful to your friends." If you have participated in other activities in the past with your friends, you, like your friends might have noticed that your time home has been limited due to participation.

I live in Connecticut, and I moved to Connecticut when I was like, seven, so yeah, it was a long time ago. I swim, which is both horrible and amazing at the same time. I have a cat, and I love her so much. Like, a lot.
I’m in Gen Z, my favorite subject is either math or English. In my free time, I like to, among other things, listen to records, draw, go on my phone (I try to as little as possible), and hang out with my friends.
