✧ Charlotte Cadunt ✧

Charlotte Euphrasie Apolline Cadunt is not the first Cadunt ever to attend Hogwarts.
Her father had been to this magical castle and sorted into Ravenclaw. Although her mother is witch, she attended school in the south of France: Beauxbâtons. Charlotte had always dreamed of the day she would finally leave home to study magic, and this day came slightly too fast for her. Because the Cadunts lived in London, both her parents insisted on having her attend Hogwarts but let her take her own decision. She finally chose Hogwarts thinking it would be much easier to return home for the holidays. All of a sudden, she was saying goodbye to her family, hopped on the train, got on a boat and was sorted into her house.

✧ Back-Story ✧

Charlotte Euphrasie Apolline Cadunt was the eldest of three daughters of her French mother Ambérine and her loving father Marius Cadunt. She was born in Paris on a cold morning on the twenty-first of May, making her a Gemini.
Ambérine was a talented witch who married a young wizard, fascinated by the Veela magic his wife could muster. Ambérine wished her daughters would all be gifted with the ability to make wandless magic and always pushed her children to make somewhat of a spell but her husband was more keen on them discovering their abilities on their own. The Cadunt’s used their abilities to help their neighbours by healing them, helping them build their houses or simply make their lives easier. Although they had always lived in France, Marius insisted on moving back to London (he was homesick but didn’t want to admit it...). They now come to London most of the year before returning to France for all of the holidays, or as much as possible.

HUFFLEPUFF

Charlotte was quite surprised when she was sorted into Hufflepuff but was far from disappointed. It was one of the best moments of her life! As she sat down at the table she looked around saw that she was surrounded by friendly and smiling faces. She felt safe and reassured. The best was surely when she entered the common room.

Her eyes twinkled as she looked around, seeing nothing but perfection: plenty of couches, a cosy fireplace and cushions by the windows. She ran to her dormitory and unpacked as fast as she could, impatient to write to her parents and sisters how fabulous Hogwarts was. You can now spot her reading her book near the fireplace or by the window on rainy days...

✧ Appearance ✧

Charlotte was a very pretty girl. She had shoulder-length chocolate brown wavy hair, big lash-fringed brown eyesand a very thin nose. A few freckles were scattered on her nose and cheeks, and she always had a smile on her face. She was of average size but was always the shortest of her class. Her skin quite pale and seemed to glow all the time.

She always wore a white necklace her grandmother gave her at her birth, and Charlotte believed it gave her strength. Her mother always told her she looked like her Grandmother, but unlike her, she wasn't a witch but just as magical, leaving her confused. Charlotte kept questioning her mother on her grandma's difference, but all her mother would say was that she was quite scary whenever she was angry.

✧ First sparks of magic ✧

Very early, Charlotte started showing signs of magic much to the happiness of her mother and to the jealousy of her sisters. She remembered this day as if it was yesterday. She was five years old and spent most of her days drawing.

Her mother had bought her a new set of crayons and Charlotte couldn't wait to try them out.
She sat down on the floor, taking a piece of paper and couldn't think of what to draw as her hand was hovering above the paper. A bird flew past her window giving Charlotte her much needed inspiration.
The bird she drew didn't much like a bird but she was very proud (she even remembered drawing him a little smile so he wouldn't be a sad bird). She lifted her paper up towards the window and saw it slowly come to life, hopping a few seconds on the sheet before flying out the window.

At the time, Charlotte didn't think it was bizarre to have her drawing come to life and explained it to her mother. A smile illuminated her face as tears rolled down her cheeks, and she quickly ran to her husband who seemed to be even more impressed.
Her mother then explained what had happened and told her not to tease her sisters with it. And of course, Charlotte did the exact opposite.

Soon after, both her sisters started showing signs of magic and the three of them began trying to muster some spells holding sticks found in their garden.

Growing up surrounded by both worlds, she found them both beautiful in their own ways.

Much to her disappointment, none of her drawings came to life since then...

✧ The letter ✧

Charlotte found it very hard to keep this secret to herself, and often hesitated to tell her friends about it. Soon enough, her letter arrived and she spent the whole day reading it over and over again. Being part English and part French, she received the next day yet another letter of admission from the French school of wizardry Beauxbatons. Her mother insisted that she went to Hogwarts, not wanting her to leave so far from home.

Eventually, she chose Hogwarts, being a new adventure as her mother had been to France for her school years.

Oh, where does Charlotte begin... They met while sneaking out to see the stars and although it was off to a very bad start, Charlotte finds the girl so incredibly sweet and can't wait to meet her again...
