Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard.
Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may ‘die’ and need replacing.

Wood

This is a most curious, multi-faceted wood, which varies greatly in its character depending on the wand core, and takes a great deal of colour from the personality that possesses it. The wand of chestnut is attracted to witches and wizards who are skilled tamers of magical beasts, those who possess great gifts in Herbology, and those who are natural fliers. However, when paired with dragon heartstring, it may find its best match among those who are overfond of luxury and material things, and less scrupulous than they should be about how they are obtained. Conversely, three successive heads of the Wizengamot have possessed chestnut and unicorn wands, for this combination shows a predilection for those concerned with all manner of justice.

Barbara Mallard is quite tall, at least half a head over most of the boys she meets it's hard to not see her as she comes walking. Due to her love for Quidditch and exploring outside she is surprisingly strong for her lanky and thin frame. On her left shoulder blade she has a light birthmark that resembles a leaf.

On the 11th of May, 2007 two people got quite the surprise. Charlie and Camille Mallard got blessed with their first daughter, after three sons. The issue with this being, neither had any idea that would be the case, the pair looking at each other with confusion as they realized that they had no ideas for a name.
‘’Well, just have a name when the certificate has to be made’’ The nurse smiled at them, Charlie clearing his throat.
‘’Thank you uh?’’
‘’Barbara’’
And that is how Barbara ‘Bobbi’ Mallard was named, on that rather warm day.
Charlie works for the Ministry department focused on Quidditch and similar magical games, ending up with the man rarely being at home during game seasons for one reason or another. His wife? A former worker at the Department of Removing Jinxes and Curses now working from home, specializing in doing that very same thing to artifacts and antiques sent to her by private contractors. Neither of them had expected their daughter, Bobbi, to be quite the way she was. A ball of pure energy, sly as a fox and even worse than her brothers in causing a mess. Nothing had prepared them for the Quidditch obsessed little girl that practically threw herself into their lives and caused chaos from the day she was born.
Charlie blames it on isolation, the girl having little to no contact with her older brothers and her younger- born only a year after herself - being far from a perfect playmate; preferring to sit inside and do his own thing.
Bobbi knew how to turn on the charms though, when her brothers did come home. Clyde, her oldest brother who spent most of his time abroad for work adored her- and the second oldest Caleb was just about to graduate Hogwarts himself so he at least came home on most of the breaks. The one she had issues with was Camden, the young boy studying in Durmstrang for one reason or another and often acting superior to the girl- picking fights every time they got a moment alone.

Camille Mallard

Camille is the mother of four boys and one girl, she can literally take on an army and be fine with it. She used to work for the ministry within breaking curses on objects but later chose to pursue it privately and become a contractor and collector. She is a wonderful mother, if a bit rash at times.

Charles ''Charlie'' Mallard

Charles Mallard, refuses to be called by his name and is affectionately known as Charlie. The man works for the Quidditch and Magical Games department within the ministry and is rather infamous for his very positive nature and sometimes overly energetic self. He is a good friend of Richard Edwards, a co-worker within the Ministry. He adores Quidditch, almost as much as he adores his kids and wife. Almost.

Clyde Mallard

Clyde is the oldest of the Mallard kids, a Hogwarts Ravenclaw Graduate he had quite the wide array of possibilities before him. He rather rarely visits home however due to his job, which he is rather secretive about- mainly just to piss off his siblings. He is rather calm and collected, but can be quite the troublemaker if given the chance. He is currently engaged to his job.

Caleb Mallard

Caleb is a sixth-year Gryffindor and it shows. A mischievous attitude worthy to rival the Weasleys he gets himself into quite a lot of trouble. An avid Quidditch watcher and player he often tries to make his sister compete with him when he is home during breaks, he is most likely to follow in his fathers foot-steps however he has started to show an interest with his mothers line or work.

Camden Mallard

Camden is the third-born son of Charlie and Camille Mallard, 14 years and currently residing at Durmstrang, he very rarely interacts with his younger sister unless he returns home during breaks. He is still very much a young boy in his heart but due to the teachings has gotten quite the stern appearance, straight back and a very neutral face unless he feels comfortable enough to relax around you. He is practically very sweet and funny but has a tough exterior hiding it all, due to this he is quite the loner- rarely speaking up if things bother him.

Cooper Mallard

Cooper Mallard was cursed with being the youngest of the bunch, often having to deal with his older brothers ruthless teasing he found himself close to his sister Bobbi. He can get on her nerves but over all is a very sweet and clever boy, he enjoys quidditch just as much as his mother but his true passion is caring for his cacti.

Primrose is a good friend, the two were raised together and Bobbi feels a need to protect her at times. The two have known each other since diapers, they don't know a reality without each other.
