Year 1: The Muggle Condition
Description:
Reducio
Ah yes, Delilah, the muggle-born, Delilah, the boring one, the one with very little magic, at least from what she could tell, she was boring, bland, but she made an effort. Her life until 2016 when she received her letter to go to Hogwarts on her 11th birthday, that she would go to Hogwarts in the autumn of 2017 and live a whole different life, was very boring. living in a tiny village in the middle of absolutely nowhere, knowing everybody in her village and them knowing her. whether that be because of her granny or because of her, who knows. Bullied by the kids in her school because she had no personality, she was just boring old del. This may not have been because she was muggle-born, tons of muggle-borns are perfectly fine and lovely people that are interesting to talk to, but that's not how she saw herself.

She had lived for 11 full years in a completely normal, magic-free life, without knowing that magic even exists in this world. Now she was shoved into this whole different world, so far away from her Granny who she had relied on for so long, forced to grow up to an extent. Her Granny having to live with this secret that her grandaughter was magic, and not just in a prestigious boarding school. Muggle life is still so prevalent in her life though, reading books, doing chores when she is at home, all of that life, she didn't miss technology because she didn't overly use it in the first place.

Her childhood was pretty boring, at least in her mind. When she was 3 her parents died, and after that she was just raised by her Granny and the friends that come and have tea almost every night. She wasn't the most violent of children, but she did occasionally have to defend herself. Which the lack of magic came in very handy, being able to use her hands, having the ability to throw a punch, or more frequently, a kick. She had a limited knowledge of martial arts, a lot of that knowledge is how to kick people effectively, which would in the future prove to be a small issue, but it worked well in childhood. She understood to only use it when necessary.

She remembered one of the times she had to use physical force, which ended up being the day that she first used magic, it was some random day, one like any other, she had just finished school, her 11th birthday in the Christmas holidays was coming up fast, and this boy, Declan Morrison, came up to her, calling her names, shortie, midget, among other, mostly height related names, it upset her greatly, she asked him to stop, he decided that was an invitation to do it more, talking about her parents death, and about her Granny. That was the problem with small villages, everybody knew everything. Her anger ended up getting the best of her, and she punched him, right in the gut.But something peculiar happened, her fist looked like it glowed for a split second, and Declan was sent flying backwards, hitting the wall behind them, it wasn't as far as it felt, maybe a few feet, but it was a bigger distance than the young girl was typically able to punch people.

Year 2: Perfectionist
Description
Reducio
Revising and rehearsing were both actions that were engrained into Delilah's very soul,
especially when it came to her education. She took studying extremely seriously. Since she joined this school the year before, she had spent almost all of her time in the library or the Ravenclaw common room, practicing her wand movements, saying the incantations with as much clarity as her accent would allow. She made it her sole effort in this school to be perfect, that was what she aimed for, the perfect student, one that got straight O's and wandered the corridors with her head held high, of course that didn't exactly happen the way she planned, head held high was never a phrase used to describe the short Second year. However she did manage to achieve impressive grades.

Ask any of her few friends and they would be able to tell you without a doubt in their minds that, one of the main traits that Delilah has is her determination to succeed in her education. She would spend hours by herself practicing and practicing, worried that she would get it wrong and injure others, or get told off by a professor, either one. Maybe both, either way, she didn't want to get it wrong in any way, shape or form. That was one of her biggest fears, failure. After all, her entire life up until this point is around her determination to succeed.

The library, the place that she practically lived in. Almost every day she visited that large hall, filled with shelves and books and people that decided to either visit for a break or for their studies, the latter being the more common reason for the young ravenclaw. Every fibre of her being was a perfectionist, every day she did her homework, almost always the day she recieved it, and if she was finished with that, she would study. She had pretty high expectations for herself, due to them being set on her as a child. Her granny would always tell her to be the best that she physically could be, and any less than 100% wasn't good enough, so this is the mindset that Delilah adopted. Every time she had a test, every time she handed in her homework, she expected 100% from herself, and has always gotten disappointed if she didn't, although it was rare for her to actually achieve 100%, she very frequently was above 90%, this is why she studies all the time. She would always ask her teachers what went wrong, and write it down, then in her spare time, practice and practice and practice until there was no more practicing that she could do anymore, at that point she would still practice some more. There was no end in sight for her, and she knew that, but the idea of getting anything less than a full 100% upset her, so she would continue until she did.

Year 3: Sixth Sense
Description:
Reducio
Darkness, that was all there was, as Delilah walked further into the forest near her home, it was getting darker and darker. Outside of the valley that held her childhood home was a relatively large forest, who knew what was hiding on the inside. Delilah had visited a few times and only seen the usual, deer, the occasional fox, squirrels, that sort of muggle Scottish wildlife. One time she even saw a Scottish bobcat. She did love regular wildlife, running about, scared of the short ravenclaw, but she wanted to know if there was anything else in there, anything magical. She searched deeper and deeper into the forest, not exactly knowing her destination, nor how she would find her way out again, but it was alright, that was a later on problem.

As she headed deeper and deeper into the forest, she felt like she was being watched, it got darker and darker the further in she went. It was getting hard to see at all, but she could see enough that she didn't bump into anything. Lifting her feet up as she walked to avoid tripping on any above ground roots as she paced slowly into the densely wooded forest. At this point, it wasn't that she thought she was being watched, she knew she was. She looked around, the feeling crawling under her skin as she got more anxious by the second. She hated this feeling, but she could feel it.

Delilah continued to walk into the forest, her mind telling her to go back, get out, the uncertainty of the unknown, which is sort of the point of the unknown. She had never been this far into the forest before, what was the point where she hit the middle of the forest and start heading out the other side? She could barely even see anymore, but it felt like somebody was behind her, the adrenaline going through her as the anxiety set it. The sudden feeling of, this was a bad idea, I'm going to meet my end here, I should've just stayed at home.

Multiple things happened over the following seconds, the first, Delilah felt a hard pressure against her back, the second, she hit the dirt floor, and the third, she stood up as quickly as she could and almost fainted, have to love that iron deficiency. As she turned herself around and rubbed the dirt off her hands on her jeans, she looked at what, or who, knocked her over, she was intensely disappointed to see one of the annoying boys she knew from primary school. She knew she was being followed, she knew she was being watched. For the whole walk back out of the forest, she gave him a lecture about how she could've really hurt herself and about how he should think about being considerate next time.

Year 4: Healing Sage
Description:
Reducio
For years, Caitlin Stewarts health has been deteriorating, even though she was only 68 years old, the grandmother of Delilah was pretty much restricted to a wheelchair or a zimmerframe on a good day. Being the oldest member of the Stewart family, and her only family member being away at hogwarts most of the year, she was alone. Every time Delilah came home for the holidays, she could see the decline in her beloved grannys health. She was desperate to help her get better, she didn't know what she would be able to do without her. She loved her more than anything in the world. Her grandmother was a very, very stubborn woman, refused to call the doctor when she needed it, refused to have an at home nurse when she needed it, she refused to have any strangers in her home. Which was usually fine, but as her health got worse, Delilah was worried that she would have to go into the town into an elders shelter, which she would hate. She wanted to stay in the village until she died, like so many in the village did. But it just wasn't good enough.

During the year, she had had to go home for a while, getting owled her work from her professors, to take care of her granny, she learned a lot, she had more knowledge of herbology and healing than she did before, and during her time at home, she certainly helped her granny a lot, while she couldn't use magic because it was illegal, she did manage to find and use magical plants that helped somewhat, and just being there and forcing her to take her medicines helped immensely.

It killed her to see her Granny simply a shell of her former self, used to be this strong woman, a librarian, reduced to sitting in a wheelchair reading books over and over again because she had forgotten if she had already read them. It made her so upset to see her forgetting things, even though she wasn't even that old, but the Stewarts were never meant to live long, history proved that, Caitlin had lived well longer than anybody else in the family. But Delilahs father, before his untimely demise, was a doctor, and that was something Delilah wanted to be, she didn't remember her Da very well, he had passed when she was a toddler, so there was pretty much no memories whatsoever, but her granny told her a lot about him. Her perfect son, her successful son that gave her the perfect granddaughter. Whenever she spoke about her Da, Delilah always felt like it was a bit of a kick in the teeth for her uncle David who died a few years before she was born, but she never really spoke of him. Delilahs father had the same dreams as Delilah, to be perfect and to help as many people as possible. over the years, as Delilah developed her magic, she realised that she didn't quite want to be a doctor though, she wanted to be a healer. Magical injuries can do so much more damage than muggle injuries, but also can be healed somewhat easier.

She just wanted to do everything to help. She studied biology and herbology very frequently, her entire dream to be a healer to help people. Whenever people were upset or hurt or anything, it made Delilah feel bad that she couldn't do anything to help, especially outside of hogwarts where she couldn't do magic, she wanted to just heal people, even if she couldn't, the amount of times she had cried because of somebody elses injuries that she couldn't help was mildly worrying, even afgter she turned 17 and could do magic outside of hogwarts, back home she only knew muggles, there was no point, she wouldnt be able to cast any healing spells on them. But she could still use her knowledge of magical plants, just not telling them why it works, maybe? She would have to wait and see.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Fearless. {Year One}
Describe why this fits your character:
Throughout Falentra whole childhood, she has been very much left to fend for herself. Whilst she was lucky enough to have a roof over her head, and have dinner on the table every night, she was was always left to learn on her own, make her own decisions and fend for herself. Over the years this had developed her into becoming someone a tough cookie, having very little that fazed her or caught her off guard. Every task was a game and it never worried her
Most children her age would run to their parents when having a nightmare or falling off a swing, but not her. There was very little that would scare her, some even seeing that as her being somewhat emotionless but it was just her fearlessness that shown with confidence.

It was when her father had sent her away to live with his brother that Falentra began to take notice of her Fearless side and began using it to her advantage. Many weeks and months were spent on the streets of Manchester along a few other children, those who wished to cause mayhem. Each had there strengths, Falentras being the daredevil of them all. She was the one climbing the buildings, running along roofs and across busy roads without hesitation. Never once did she feel the need to stop, realise that her actions were sometimes so extreme and reckless. There were a time when her Uncle had had enough with her reckless behaviour to which Falentra responded by running off and living on the dangerous streets of Manchester. It was always a place you needed to keep looking over your shoulder, at night anyway. If it was any other child in her shoes, they would have probably gotten over their tantrum and ran back home. The darkness, the creepy looking people that roamed the streets and alleyways never scared her and instead she saw them poor lost souls wandering helplessly... very much like herself at the time. If there was ever an encounter where her life was threated, she would attempt to fight back despite the odds of her winning being low. It was either that or a quick escape through the buildings. Not so much through fear, but common sense on knowing when the fights or confrontation of any sort became too much.

Throughout her years at Hogwarts, there were many students that were attending with Abilities that would be seen as strange to most, scary even and leaving them with shivers running down their spines. It was a feeling Falentra never experienced and simply felt their presence that of a human. Her Fearlessness was something she always loved and it helped improve the harsh guard she had up to everyone around her.

Planning on applying for werewolf

Why this:
Her foster parents had gone abroad and were returning in two weeks. Preksha was all alone at home, but she anyway loved being alone. After few weeks her parents returned they bought her so many gifts but one of them was very special to her as she wanted a phone for so long and finally they got her one. They had dinner and Preksha went upstairs to sleep as it was a long day and she was tired after helping her parents unpack their clothes, cleaning etc.

Next day was Preksha’s birthday her parents surprised her with a camping trip in a forest near by to their house as she loved camping and it had been many months as she went on one. They left to the forest early in the morning, her mother with one swish she brought tent up along with the fire and my friends came out of nowhere giving me a surprise. After eating snacks we went to the forest to play, it was a beautiful full moon with a clear sky. She was happy that she got to see her friends after a long time.

After few hours her friends started to worry as Preksha didn’t return after so long. They heard a long howl from the forest that’s when Preksha parents and her friend Gabriel took their wand out bracing themselves for an attack. Her parents did not want to hurt it as they knew it was a human who turned into a werewolf. So they distracted it by making a similar sound, they rushed into the wood seeing Preksha unconscious with a werewolf bite on her leg which was bleeding. Her parents and Gabriel panicked as they knew what kind of trouble Preksha was getting into.

The next day she woke up having a a severe pain in her leg where the wound was located, which was aching so bad she started weeping. Her parents tried consoling her but she knew what mess she had gotten into and she had to accept that fact. Gabriel told her that after a month there would be another full moon, she was a bit frightened but she kept a positive mind.

The day of the full moon arrived and just few hours before the moon showed up her parents wanted her daughter first transformation to be perfect they gave her the wolfsbane potion and she drank it and they kept clothes for her and they left her in the forest. Soon hours passed and the moon was high above them they heard loud screams of Preksha coming from the forest. Later the moon disappeared and the sun began to arose, Preksha came walking slowly towards her parents car which was parked on the other end of the forest. She hugged her parents as she went through a lot of pain but on the other side she explained how the moon guided her into the forest revealing its true beauty. They reached home and noticed soo many changes in her like, she became quiet stronger than before and she looked happy being it. That morning she slept like a baby sucking her thumb which made made her parents giggle (No her parents didn't want to turn her into a werewolf as the camping attack was completely unexpected and no matter what she is they had to support her and not degrade her for what she is).

Please explain the "tingle" in your leg. Why the puppy? Were the parents making her into a werewolf?
Edit 2.0: There has not been any changes, except that "Puppy" got switched out with "phone". What is the feeling in your leg as if they break? How can she be turn into a werewolf by a werewolf bite and two days later is another full moon?
I'm not sure if you know, what werewolfs are. Please read our lore here.
You need to be bitten by a werewolf to become a werewolf. They turn only on full moon.
If you want the parents to be the reason she is a werewolf, please explain why they'd do that? 20.11.20

Sadon's Genetics: (The Genetics thing is just to show how it's in his genes if this is approved.)
Reducio
Sadon didn't really know much about his family's genetics and he did't really care. All that mattered to him was reading books and studying. Those where the only important things after all, to study and too read. Reading books of all sorts to increase his vocabulary to to take his mind on a fantastic trip. Studying to know more about the world and to understand what he was learning. So genetics never really bothered his, sure he was curious about his fathers side of the family since he never spoke of them. But it was just curiosity, and besides he could always find it out at a later time.

But because he did not know his genetics from his fathers side. He decided to learn as much as he could about his mother's side of the family. Since his mother and father usually works at this time Sadon went over to his uncle. His uncle was intelligent and loved researching snakes. Not because of any reason other that he liked snakes. His mothers side where muggles so there really was no reason. At least Sadon thought there was no reason. The 9 year old boy walked over to his Uncle, and asked him about the family. But too Sadon's surprise he figured out his uncle forgot.

His exact words where "Sorry kiddo.. But well umm I got so into researching snakes that I umm.." His uncle laughed awkwardly. "I kinda forgot..." His uncle smiled at Sadon and patted his head. Like Sadon was a pet dog, Sadon shook his head and smiled at his uncle. Why did I expect him to remember that. "Well uncle if you can't remember can I have a pet snake. I have wanted a pet for now and snakes are really intriguing. And you know all about them.. So it kinda makes sense to have one.." The boy looked at his feet and put his hands behind his back. Fiddling with his fingers as his face got red in embarrassment.

He could talk to his uncle, but he always got embarrassed when he did. Like his uncle was just going to come out and say that he was dumb. But his uncle agreed to getting Sadon a pet snake as long as he did what he was told. And he left it at home. Sadon soon figured out his genetics from his mothers side by asking his mother. It all seemed normal to him. But his fathers genetics where still a mystery.

The purple hair 9 year old walked around a pet store with his uncle. The walked past rows of mice and puppies and kittens you could buy. But Sadon wan't interested in any of them. Sure he looked at them all just because he thought they where cute. But he was't intrigued in getting any of them as a pet. But then Sadon's uncle brought him into a row of Snakes. Snakes in their glass rectangular containers on tables. They where all just up for display and Sadon loved it. Sadon's uncle went off to talk to the shop keeper as Sadon browsed the snakes.

He thought he could hear them talking but he just thought it was him imagining the snakes could talk. So he played along with his imagination. "Hi everybody" He said whispered to the snakes. He did not realize he wasn't talking in any form of speak he knew. He just thought he was talking to the snakes in Irish. But when he said hi to the snakes all fo them that could hear his whisper looked at him. "Can this boy spe-" Said one snake before another cut them off. "No no no. Thats not possible we where probrally just hearing things." Said the snake that cut the other snake off.

"Whats not possible?" Sadon asked the snakes in curiosity. He knew he was probrally just imagining this. But it actually intrigued him when the bigger snake said 'Not possible.' The snakes had their mouths open wide as they just stared at the boy. Through the glass. "I-it can't be." Said the smaller snake. "H-How is this possible." Said the bigger snake. Then two baby snakes looked at Sadon. "Hi! Want to play!" They asked Sadon. "Sorry I can't I think mu uncles coming back any minute. Besides this is all just my imagination anyway." Sadon chuckled and the baby snakes looked at him.

"If you are just imagining this then how can you hiss like us." Sadon looked at the baby snakes confused. "What do you mea-" Sadon whispered to the baby snakes. But he was cut off when his uncle came with the shopkeeper. Sadon shook his head turned to his uncle and smiled. "All of these snakes look so amazing I don't think I can chose." Sadon said to his uncle with a bright smile. Not noticing that the shopkeeper was putting one of the snakes into a box with tiny air holes in the top. Sadon's uncle smiled at him. "Then it's a good thing I chose for you kiddo." His uncle said smiling.

That was when Sadon noticed his uncle was carrying a glass container with both hands. With a brown bag in it and it had a mini log in it and a mini lake. It had enough room for a snake to sliver around in it had water for the snake. So Sadon assumed the snakes food was in the bag. Sadon then realised that his uncle had the keys to the car in his pocket. Sadon grabbed the keys and took the container with tiny air-holes in the top from the shop keeper. He unlocked the trunk to the car for his uncle gave his uncles the keys. And sat down in the backseat of the car. Once everything was ready Sadon's uncle started to drive them home. Sadon still hasn't realised that when he was talking to those snakes he wasn't speaking any language he knew.

Talent: Metamorphomagus

Description:
One of the many reasons for pride for the Darkwaters was the presence of metamorphomagus in their family. While that was not a frequent occurrence, their story was told even many generations later.
The latest metamorphomagus in the family was Orestes Darkwaters’ sister, that tragically died at a young age while at service as an Auror. She died without any heirs, and none of the three daughters of Orestes inherited the gift. So it was an amazing surprise when the family realized what Medea was.
At her birth, Medea had beautiful icy blue eyes and already a full head of red hair. It is very easy to imagine the surprise when a couple of days later Medea’s hair turned lime green as she started to desperately cry for food. She was a metamorphomagus, just like her grand aunt! That day, the whole family had a party in her honour, such was the excitement.
But of course, that ability also brought a problem with that: hiding it from the muggles. While being an amazing ability, a young metamorphomagus is not able to control their change, especially under strong emotions. And a child is often under strong emotions.
Inverness was primary a muggle city, even if it had quite a strong magical community inside. Thankfully, the Darkwaters already lived in a Manor outside the city, so at least no one could see her just strolling around in the garden, but still, she wasn’t allowed to go anywhere alone, ever, and spent almost all her first 11 years of age in the Manor and the woods outside it, with the company of the other young witches and wizards of the city.
At first, Medea got angry every single time she was forbidden to go out, and every time she did that, her hair turned lime green. Probably it was because she had always hated that colour. What was even more infuriating was that her family would laugh as smile as her hair would turn. She could not understand why they would find that adorable, and only end up getting angrier. What a mess.
With the years, she started to understand. Of course, it was still hard for her, especially as her magical friends would tell the tales about the muggle world, and she was stuck there. Probably that was one of the reasons why she became in love with nature and would spend all her free time outside. Even if her world was little, she wanted to enjoy the more she could.
While knowing that she had a very envied and amazing gift, growing up as a metamorphomagus was not easy for Medea. She had no control over her changes, which infuriated her. Her grandfather explained to her that with the years, she will be able to have amazing control over it, but as of now, the only thing she could do was trying to keep it down. Which was very hard considering how passionate of a person she was.
Moreover, it is quite hard as a young girl when everyone can read your emotions. You cannot hide anything. Everyone knew that Medea’s hair would get lime green when angry, electric violet when she was excited, white when she was scared and so on… it was definitely embarrassing. At least the changes in her eyes were easier to hide… but still.
Her gift definitely made Medea being even more eager to arrive at Hogwarts. There she would have no reason to hide anymore, everyone will be magical around here! And she had also heard that the study of transfiguration could help her learn how to control her talent and be able to perform very complicated transformations. She was so ready to start!

Name of Special Talent I'd like to apply for: Parseltongue

In the fading glow of the sun, 9 year old Opal Midnight, and her 2 younger sisters, were laying on the crisp, amber cascade of leaves in the woods next to their family's home, playing hide and seek with her brother and his friends. This was her favourite place in the whole world, well it was, before her arrival at the magical school of Hogwarts. The autumn breeze ruffled Opal's auburn hair, making Fauna, her youngest sister, giggle. Opal was feeling calm and relaxed. Although, suddenly, Fauna screamed, breaking the tranquility, "There's a snake, look, there, argh, it's going to attack us!" Opal sighed, "Fauna, shut up, it's not going to attack, look!"Opal started hissing or, as her sisters knew, started conversing with the snake in parselmouth. Hello, please leave us alone, we're in the middle of a VERY important game. We can't let our brother win otherwise he won't stop going on about it till dinner time tomorrow! With that, the snake retreated back into the bushes it came from. Opal's sisters gave her a big grin as a sign of gratitude, she was very proud of her achievement, that was the first time Opal had spoken to a snake without her mother's supervision.
Opal was very fond of her special talent, she knew it was a rarity, even in the wizarding world, and she hoped that her descendants inherited her useful skill, just like she had from her ancestors. 5 people had been saved by Opal because of her ability, the first time was when she was trekking in the Amazon jungle with her newly wedded husband, Fortis Sunshine, they wanted to have an adventure of a lifetime for their honeymoon. They were admiring a unique species of tree when they heard someone scream, Opal's natural instincts of care kicked in and she rushed to the sound of the noise. A man was about to be bitten by a venomous snake so Opal hissed 'Stay Away Snake!'. The snake did as it was told and relief flooded the man's face.
Jade wiped a tear from her clouded eyes, as she listened to her grandfather's words, in which he was speaking fondly of his wonderful late wife. He was saying how indebted he was for her brightening up his life and how he was so proud of her ever giving, loving heart. Even though she was a Slytherin, the house renowned for evil, she was one of the kindest people he ever met, he'd miss her dearly. Fortis was amazed by the true bravery and determination she showed every time she saved a snake-bite (or near) victim because she had no fear and always remained calm when speaking the intricate parseltongue language.
Jade had always been grateful of her grandmother for 'giving' her the gift of parseltongue, but now she was so proud to have inherited such a special talent from a very special woman, who she would miss everlong. Her grandma was a huge inspiration to Jade, and Jade strived to be like her, although she didn't think she would ever know someone as kind again.

Year 1
Name of Ability that you are applying for: Evasive Maneuvers

Alec had always been quite a nimble child. He was quick with his movements. And had always been quite a small and light child. The boy honed this to his abilities. Using it to advantage. As everybody around him saw him as scrawny. Not seeing just how much this ability could actually be worth. It wasn't only useful when he was just running around in the yard with his siblings. In fact. Alec could recall a time it was useful for much, much more than that.

Alec was six. A mischievous child with crazy ideas. And a cheeky grin plastered on his face. It wasn't too far off from what he was now. I mean.. Not to brag.. But smiling could totally be considered a quality of his. The small boy. Even at the age of six, had taken quite a liking to his older sister's items. Not only did he tend to 'borrow' old clothes from her closet. But had recently taken a liking to the new glass tea set. That by the way, his mother had recently bought for his older sister. Why she bought a glass tea set for a ten-year-old. And expected that it would not break. And thought that his older sister would be able to keep it in good condition if it stayed in her room. And why his mother thought this was the responsible option? Who knows? The boy often found himself pondering on it years later. But this was not up for a discussion at the moment.

The glass tea set. Out of all the things she had. Was something he was now starting to admire most. Alec had to admit. He usually wasn't a tea party guy. But this tea set made him quite fond of the idea to going to one. And even hosting one. For the next week or so the small boy found himself daydreaming of going to tea parties. The idea becoming even more possible in his mind as time went by. Of course, he knew the reality of it was that he was too young to go to one since his sister had only been told this recently as well. And he was much younger than her.

But just because he couldn't go to real ones doesn't mean he couldn't host his own fake one. And it was going to be perfect. The boy set out making a plan. It had quite a shortage of details. And only a few simple steps. But there really wasn't much you could expect from a six-year-old. The plan was to wait till his sister was busy doing something.[And preferably outside. But he didn't have the patience to wait that long.] Carefully sneak into her room. While being extra watchful, making sure nobody noticed. And then just running in. Once he got in, he just had to find the tea set. And quickly bring it back to his room. Now of course he could've just asked to borrow his sister's tea set. But pffffffffffff who did that? Besides, she was bound to say no to him.

Only a few hours later could he in act. His plan. His sister had gone outside to do who knows what. But this didn't matter. He could now sneak in. And so he did. He noticed her room was a lot messier than usual. He also noticed her large satchel lying on the floor. How odd. Eventually, though, his eyes spotted the tea set. Glimmering as the sun from the window hit it. Somehow able to shine even with the amounts of snow coming down. Only a few shelves up was the glass tea set. All he had to do was get on his tip-toes and-"Aha!" He heard his older sister yell. The boy completely surprised by this almost lost his balance. He quickly turned his head to face his sister. And noticed something. Snowballs. She had snowballs. From the snow outside. In a basket. Inside the house. And she looked as if she was about to throw them at him.

Shoot.

He watched as he her hand. Slowly went to the basket. His mother was going to be livid if she ever found out what was happening. Or even if she just found Alec with melted snow in his hair. His hair being an even bigger soppier mess that sort of absorbed it. And just in the nick of time did he grab his sister's satchel to use as a shield that he'd noticed earlier. Diving as quickly as he could behind her bed. Avoiding the attack of all the snowballs. Even when he happened to get close enough to the basket to grab one. Which was now melting in his hands, making them freezing cold. Quickly he threw it at her and dodged her attack, making a run for the door. And as if he could sense her about to throw another snowball at him. He suddenly held up the satchel that he'd been holding for a while now, behind him. High enough to dodge another attempted attack.

And this was the day he tried. But failed. To get that tea set. Don't fret, though. Alec is able to grab it, eventually. And also ends up being the one responsible for accidentally breaking it.

Name of Ability you are applying for: Advanced Casting

Alec had always had quite the knack for spell casting. Something about it just came naturally to him. From the first time he cast a spell till now. He always had just had this sort of skill. Thinking about it now, he supposed he prided himself in it. Not in the way most would, since he wasn't much for showing off. Okay well.. He did like to show off. But he liked to show off the funny stuff. The stuff people wouldn't think of doing.

Alec had spent his summer when he'd not been busy, caught up in a crazy mess. Studying. He couldn't much of his other hobbies with his 'enemy' around for the summer. Alec knew the kid could respect studying. So that's what Alec did. It was actually quite interesting what you find when reading, when you started to regularly study. Alec used to regularly study. But by the end of his first year at Hogwarts, everything just seemed to fall apart.

Besides, the only reason he was studying back than was to avoid the Gryffindor common room. There was always something crazy going on, and it had bothered Alec for the longest time. But, as time went on he sort of got used to the craziness of the common room. And maybe.. But he wasn't willing to admit. Maybe he did like the craziness.. Just a tad bit.

Upon hearing one of his closest friends wasn't coming back to Hogwarts for their second year. Alec threw himself into his studies more. It distracted him from the thought that he wasn't going to be able to see his friend for the longest time. It helped him deal with it. If that made any sense at all. Although, even when he went back to Hogwarts, this constant studying in all his free time became a thing. It was all he ever did. And only recently has he started to realize how unhealthy it was to study that much. He'd at first thought it was a harmless habit..

But when you choose to study something, you've already studied for the tenth time. Over being with your friends. Something is clearly up. Whoever said too much of anything isn't good. You were right. And so while Alec's tried to cut down the studying and find other things to fill his free time. It's safe to say this studying has really brought his skills up more than he's expected. And for how good he was getting, you could even call him an advanced spell caster.

Pretty. Beautiful. Elegant. Feel free to use any of these words to describe Lindsey, the lovely Miss Springhall.

The Springhall family had always been praised as good looking. With dark brown hair and clear blue eyes, men in the family were loved, and women were admired. Fitzwilliam Springhall could be regarded as the most handsome man in his generation, and so was his wife, Carolyn. Carolyn, the mixed race witch, who had an English - Chinese background, was exceedingly beautiful. Long, straight brown hair was swept to the back, with black eyes sparkling. When Carol was still a Ravenclaw student, she was considered on of the best looking girl in her year. The marriage of these two was praised by many people — good looking, pureblooded, how could you reject it?

Their children were as lovely as the couple. Edmund, who successfully inherited his father’s clear blue eyes and dark brown hair, was a handsome boy since born. So was Lindsey. Golden brown curls dropping down on her shoulders, large chocolate brown eyes sparkling — she somewhat resembled a porcelain doll. A smile curved into a curl on her fair face, and a straight, thin nose was there also. She was beautiful — from the time when she was just a child.

Being a pureblood, the Springhall girl was often invited to balls. The old ladies and gentlemen always told her to come nearer to them, and asked the little girl questions. When asking, they couldn’t help praising her looks. “What a lovely girl!” They often said. An elder lady even asked. “How could you be so pretty, my dear? Tell me, for you must have some sort of secrets on that point.” And her parents just smiled.

Not only when attending balls, when she wandered on the streets of London with her mother, people couldn’t help turning their heads to see the mother and the child. Sometimes Carolyn could hear people commenting on their looks. “How beautiful!” She heard others praising. Well, you must say, it was true.

Growing older, Lindsey became more dazzling over days. Wearing her black robes and yellow tie, she was regarded as a normal student when first glance, but would be picked out from the crowd as soon as you realized how beautiful she was. The girl was just lovely, and there’s no way of rejecting this truth. From the time she was born, Lindsey had always been lovely — she was just a lovely creature.

Link to Encyclopedia: Gertrude Hodge

Name of Race: Metamorphamgus

Why this fits your character:

The appearance of Metamorphmagus has been present in the Davies family for many generations, through extremely rare and sporadic. Very few of members of the family have ever had it. The talent seemed to have a tendency to skip generations altogether. Like a recessive gene, if you will. No one in the family is certain to when or where the rare talent came from in their genealogy. Every Christmas, Gert's uncle would always tell stories over a drink of whiskey whilst he cradled her on his lap. The story would change every time, but the little child never seemed to mind. Her favourite was the ridiculous story about how they were cursed by goats.

It had skipped Penelope Davie's father and his mother before him in favour of her, which she then passed on to her daughter, Gertrude. Before that, the last person in their family to have the talent was her great great grandmother, Una. Fond memories echo in her mind of visits to the eccentric elderly woman, who morphed into animals and other members of their family to appease the little Hodge gremlins running havoc in the house.

No one really expected any of the Hodge children to show any symptoms, seeing how rare the talent was in the family. It was no surprise that nobody noticed the little signs from Gertrude. The slight way her eyes would change colour or the green highlights that would appear from in her hair from time to time. The first time anyone noticed any changes was when Penelope walked in on a four year old Gert with bright red hair one day after she had thrown a temper tantrum. After that, all the little pieces fell into place. Luckily, around the time this happened, they were staying with Penelope's great grandmother at the time, who lived in a quiet and remote wizarding village. They were more concerned about when they had to go back home, seeing as they lived in a fairly large muggle populated area at the time. Indeed, it was a struggle.

As Gert grow, so did her talent. The volatile nature of it seemed to settle. Only when she truly had an outburst did her appearance drastically change. Her parent's divorce did not help and whenever massive outburst would occur between the two downstairs, the middle Hodge would burst into a fit of rage - hair red and nails like talons. Often followed by a period of melancholy, a time where her eyes would sink to a sullen grey unlike their usual vibrant green and her hair grow grow dull and not grow. She looked how all the other Hodge children felt by the disturbance.

On the other side of things, when she was near someone or something she cherished, Gert would take on their features. Sometimes, that meant her nose would morph into her friend's and other time's it meant she grew a tail. After visits to the farm her grandparents lived near, she'd always end up with a pig tail at the end of the day or a leaf growing off her head.

So, I think it's the perfect ability for Gert because of this. But, I think it'd be a great challenge for her to try and overcome her volatility when it comes to it. At this moment in time, she'd be discovering the fun side of the ability and showing it off because she doesn't really know what else to do with it and isn't that mature. But, over time, she'd come to push herself to do more and more with it, not just for fun, but to help grow. And, whilst her mother doesn't want her to push herself too hard and take her time to hone her talent, her great great grandmother always pushed her to try more and have as much fun as possible with it. And, not that long ago, her great great grandmother passed away, so it's one of the things that reminds her most of her, which I would talk a lot about in threads involving her talent if she did get it.

Metamorph
Why?

“Kazuo, come here,” Kyouko called to him from the garden where she sat feeding the koi in the pond. “I have a story to tell you, as old as our family is.”

He did love stories, especially when his mother told them. She would weave them in the air for him, bringing them to life with magic.

“We’ve told you of Abe-no-Seimei but it occurred to me that we never told you about his parents.”

“Were they onmyoji too?” The young boy asked as he came to sit at her feet. As she spoke, she began to weave the story in illusions around them.

“His father, Abe no Yasuna, was. They say he was a good man with a kind soul. They say that while others would hunt and kill the yokai, he refused to do so without proof that the yokai were corrupt or harmful.”

“Isn’t that what we are supposed to do?”

“Yes, because he imparted those same lessons of compassion and understanding to his son.”

“So wouldn’t he be the founder of our clan then?”

Kyouko laughed and shook her head. “No. You see, Seimei’s father was not a man of status. How he came to possess the gift of magic, no one knows. Other onmyoji clans were said to have shunned him and looked down on him simply because he came from humble origins. All that would change when he happened upon a samurai hunting foxes for sport. Do you remember the importance of foxes, Kazuo?”

“They are messengers of the kami, creatures who exist between the spiritual and the physical. Like onmyoji. Except we’re human and they’re yokai.”

“Yes, that’s close enough. So what do you think about what the samurai was doing?”

Kazuo’s face scrunched up as he thought about the question. “If foxes are messengers of the kami and they aren’t harming anyone, we shouldn’t hunt them.”

“That’s right. And why shouldn’t we hunt them?”

“Because of the balance of all things?” Kazuo asked. He didn’t really understand the concept, only in the most basic sense.

“Yes. You see, humans, more than all other creatures in heaven and earth, have the capability to throw everything out of balance. So we must be mindful of our actions. Seimei’s father felt that the samurai was doing wrong. In order to save the fox the man had captured, he chose to fight and though he defeated his opponent he took many wounds.” Kazuo stared as the images shifted to show a clearly unbalanced fight between onmyoji and samurai. “He saved the fox but at what should have been the cost of his own life.”

“But he didn’t die,” Kazuo added with a smile.

Kyouko smiled at her son. “Yes, you are right. Shortly after he freed the fox, a beautiful woman by the name of Kuzunoha came upon him, half-dead from his wounds. She helped him back to his home and tended his wounds until he was healed. Yasuna was so taken with her beauty and her kindness that he asked her to stay and become his wife. She agreed and some years later, Seimei was born.”

Kazuo’s face scrunched again as he watched the images playing out the story around him. “Was she the fox?” He finally asked, earning a bright smile of approval from Kyouko.

“Yes, my clever boy. Kuzunoha was the very fox he had rescued from the hunter. They say that when a fox comes to live with a human, if her true nature is discovered, she must return to the forest. Poor Kuzunoha’s true nature was discovered by her own son and soon after, she left.”

“But why should she have to leave?” Kazuo asked, shaking his head in disapproval. “If Yasuna and Seimei still loved her, it shouldn’t matter.”

“Well, sometimes the rules of the kami do not make sense to us. I think Kuzunoha feared that her husband and son would suffer shame if it was discovered that she was a fox and left to protect them.”

“Ohhh that makes more sense.”

“Well, Yasuna was a talented onmyoji but Seimei was much more than his father. Even as a child he showed potential and, as you know, he became quite famous in his lifetime. Many believe that some of Seimei’s unique gifts were because of his mother’s blood. That he inherited some of her spiritual gifts.”

“Like what?” Kazuo asked, curious.

“Well, the stories tell us that sometimes, Seimei would take on different appearances. Just like his fox-mother. And every once in a while, an onmyoji will appear who can do the same thing.”

“Without spells?”

“Without spells or potions or charms of any kind. It is simply something natural to them.”

“But how can other onmyoji have that power? We aren’t all related.” Kazuo asked, frowning.

“They say that it is a gift. We respect and revere the kami and so we are rewarded in turn.”

“Do you think I could have that gift?”

Kyouko smiled at her son and ruffled his hair. “It’s certainly possible. Your great grandmother had the gift but you never know with these things.”
