Ruby had known about magic for as long as she could remember, growing up in a pureblood household. Her parents always wanted their daughter to be the best at what she did, because how could they have a reputation of being anything but skilled? Like many magical children, her accidental magic came at a young age, arising mainly when she got angry or upset in some way. As a child, she was unrefined, wild, doing whatever she wanted because she didn't care about the rules and consequences. That, and the fact that her parents were away most of the time, working or on business trips. She didn't take much note of it—it comprised such a large part of the life she knew that she didn't think to question it or view it as something negative. It was just expected.

She was left in the hands of tutors, and she didn't hesitate to act up around them. The other part of the time was spent under the care of her aunt and uncle, which was what she enjoyed most. They had three sons, all a few years older than Ruby, who possessed a mischievous nature that fascinated the young girl and quickly led her to become involved in their games and schemes. The time they spent together made them closer, and eventually, Ruby became like a sister to them. She enjoyed the company of all three, but she felt most similar to the youngest, a boy who would one day precede her arrival at Hogwarts by two years and be sorted into Ravenclaw, breaking the trend of the brothers being members of Gryffindor.

As Ruby grew accustomed to the type of plotting that the little group did, she spent more and more time with the future Ravenclaw, working alongside him to refine the plans and make things run more smoothly—well, at least, whatever could be planned. The two were often seen together and their attention to detail meant that they wouldn't let any mistakes slide through. Another thing that helped her develop these behaviours was her parents' response to discovering how unruly she was in their absence. They assigned her extra schoolwork to fill up her time, gave her a new set of rules, and instructed her on proper pureblood etiquette. She found it terribly dull at first, fidgeting or trying to avoid whatever the task was until she realised that a low grade would just cause them to give her more work.

Desperate to avoid any more of it, she began working hard, perfecting her grades to satisfy her parents. When she entered Hogwarts, she found it much easier to focus on because the subjects were things that she was actually interested in. After all the hard work she had been doing for stuff she didn't even like, she found this smooth and natural in comparison. The meticulous girl spent hours practicing and studying each spell until she was sure she had it completely perfect. The idea of failure was too much to bear. She had already failed her parents by not being sorted into the house that they wanted for her. Getting good grades was the least she could do. However, it went deeper than that. She truly wanted to understand each and every spell on a profound level, and would simply not allow it to backfire. After all, she was a perfectionist.

Fearless:
Reducio
Time spent messing around with her cousins led to a certain recklessness that sometimes got Ruby into trouble. A disregard for the rules and safety was persistent from a young age, and there was no space for fear in the moment. It only made itself known as an exhilarating thrill of adrenaline that spurred her to continue. Yet as the years continued, her parents attempted to make her more refined, and it worked to some extent. She stopped causing quite as much mischief. When she got to Hogwarts, she was wary and alone at first, but her desire for friends quickly led to her making some. Perhaps she was drawn to what she knew already, because her friends were initially either colder purebloods or sweeter troublemakers. Her first year was comprised mostly of the conflict from the duality of these things within her.

In her second year, her life got a little harder. The summer before that year pushed her down a path of anger and jealousy after discovering that she had a brother who her parents paid more attention to. Frustrated, the school year began with tears from feeling alone until she was comforted by the presence of friends, making some lasting new ones around the middle of the year. The danger in Hogwarts was ever-present, but she had no real involvement in it until February, when the spiders invaded the Slytherin common room and cursed the people who she lived and studied with. Despite that, while a few people seemed frozen with fear, she had managed to stay mostly cool and attempt to protect her friends. She felt the fear, but it was able to be pushed aside to focus on her goal.

After the scare and the pain of being cursed by the spiders' venom, everything else paled in comparison. When her emotions became too much later in the year, she lashed out at other students. It didn't help for long and certainly didn't help others, but at least it got rid of the pent up negativity temporarily. If she was afraid, she typically reacted with anger or a slight sadness, masking the fact that she was actually scared. She couldn't pinpoint when these reactions started, but she knew that she didn't find other people scary. Creatures she knew little about, malicious plots, or unsettling circumstances made her uneasy, but she reckoned she would be able to push through it. She felt it, yes, but it didn't affect her quite as much as it seemed to for others. It was slightly dulled and muted, manifesting itself in a different way to many. In a roundabout way, she didn't scare easily.

Spell Spread:
Reducio
From the judgemental perfectionist who desperately wanted friends to the aloof, angry third year with a bit of an unreasonable perspective, Ruby had certainly changed over the years. There was some consistency—the desire to compete and to prove herself. She wanted to prove that she was talented enough to hold the roles that she did and be a part of the duelling team. Before that, it was Quidditch, and she had scored goals as a Chaser, doing just fine when she actually got to play. However, she was realising that she preferred the spellcasting aspect of magic and therefore switched the Quidditch pitch for the duelling club.

Her desire to learn had motivated her to understand the spells that they were studying inside and out, but she wanted to put that knowledge to use and do whatever she could with it. She wanted to make her spells do more, so she studied more, looking for anything she could do with them. Perhaps it was the effort she put into it or the enthusiasm with which she cast, but something enabled her to target two things at once, much faster than many of her classmates could. The first time she did this, she was shocked, but after that it soon became a skill that she would use many times in the future. Grandeur was something that she wasn't unfamiliar with due to being part of a pureblood family and having friends who possessed a flair for dramatics, or at least eccentricity.

Like any other Slytherin, she didn't want to just settle for average or what was normal. She wanted to stand out and do something slightly unusual, something that not everyone did, so she pushed herself to figure out new ways for her to cast spells. While it came with the undeniable risk of increased failure, it enabled her to take her spells to a larger scale and create things that she was rather proud of. If it backfired, at least she would go out with a bang. And if it succeeded? Well, it would be marvellous for her, she would make sure of that. When she got angry, it was vindictive and explosive, which was something that didn't mix well with magic. If she got in a duel with someone, whether it was an official one or against the rules, she would do anything in her power to make sure that she won and her opponent was squashed. She was learning to do that by spreading her spells.

Evasive Maneuvers
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Being a Martial Artist is not only attacking your opponent with punches and kicks, and most people seem to forget that isn't all about what martial art is. Sure, it's wicked to use any branch of fighting techniques but dodging attacks from enemies is also part of martial arts training. You might be surprised because when Griseldis first started her Kung Fu training, her grandfather did a reversed lesson where he wanted his granddaughter to learn the evade techniques before teaching her how to fight against her opponent. The young Griseldis didn't quite understand why. Just like any other children, they all thought you would first learn how to fight, and evading didn't come to their mind at all.

It was obvious that the evasion techniques were slightly harder than she imagined, her grandfather always reminded her that she needed to make sure to master how to determine her distance and defense moves first. The clueless Griseldis followed her grandfather to a forest and did her evade training there every morning. The first evade training was to try dodging the swinging logs and she wasn't allowed to leave the circle that was drawn on the ground. The second evade training was to dodge every single pebble stone-throwing at her while she was standing on the bamboo raft that was not big enough for her to have space to dodge anywhere, one misstep and she would fall into the river water. And her third evade training was that she could only dodge her grandfather's attacks while her hands were tied behind her back. Luckily, her grandfather let her wear protective sparring gear so she wouldn't get hurt too much when she couldn't dodge.

She didn't succeed well in the beginning and kept being hit by the logs, accidentally tripped into the water when trying to dodge a pebble stone, and often got swiped off her feet by her grandfather's unpredictable attacks and fell on the hard ground. Griseldis still didn't want to give up no matter how harsh the training was and her grandfather was quite impressed by his granddaughter's determination and resilience. He then told her:
"Listen to the wind. Feel the flow of the water. Be one with the earth."
Remembering those wise words her grandfather gave her during the training, it took days and weeks of practice for her to finally enhance her physical reflexes.

Even though Griseldis was often clumsy but only in certain situations when it was really serious or dangerous. The evade training she did in the past would come in handy and might save her from powerful attacks in the future.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Perfectionist
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
The Grìmsson family expects and instills into their generations nothing less than perfection. This starts at a young age and continues to be ingrained into the youth of the family throughout the rest of their lives. There are a number of expectations to be upheld between appearance, attitude, socializing, and other important traits deemed absolutely necessary in order to not only impress but dominate over other Purebloods. Kian unfortunately was unlucky in his coming into the family as first born... heir to his father's business and the family name. Without any other cousins directly in line to carry on the family name and status, well the responsibility fell even harder onto the poor lad.

Constant classes were given to the boy and trained him how to properly walk and present himself in front of others. He would be marched out in front of his father's business partners and mother's friends so they could show him off like a prized dog before being tucked away neatly back upstairs in his room. Kian learned to read, write, and was introduced to various languages at a young age. His courses and strict instructor, another Pureblood companion from his father's world, made sure Kian never was average. He was scolded harshly for any mistakes and slip ups of the tongue or hand when learning. Often this led to small raps on the knuckles and a harsh tone, extended study hours into the evening only to eat dinner much later than desired before a prompt bedtime.

To some families it could be looked at as harsh to take away the boy's childhood but in their eyes they only wanted the best for him and their name. To his parents perfection was the best way for him to be successful. It had worked for them and their parents before them so why shouldn't it for the boy? Kian worked away on whatever task he was given and in some strange way found joy in it, especially when he would glean a small sliver of approval from his father. He wasn't one to complain and started to realize that there was value in making sure everything was just.right. His room went from full of toys and closet stuffed full of clothes to everything in a particular manner, all on his own doing. Shirts and slacks organized, neatly tucked away in a drawer and ordered in a pleasing fashion according to color and style. All of the boy's small nick-knacks and toys were set on shelves only to be admired from afar, set in a line like soldiers. Anything that did not have a place or was too wild was taken away, Kian not even bothering to wonder if it had been donated or trashed into the rubbish. Taking this trait to Hogwarts, Kian keeps his belongings organized, his notes well thought out and clearly marked, any quills pristine and free of split feather ends, clothes unwrinkled and tucked in, everything down to his laces tied as evenly as possible. Even when alone Kian hardly can bring himself to feel sloppily dressed or not organize the peas on his plate.
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): 415 words:
Autumn had high expectations of herself. She was well aware of this. It could be said that she was a perfectionist. She just really, really liked success and precision. It gave her a sense of contentment, and contentment was not something she felt often.

It would be a lie to say her perfectionism did not effect Autumn's daily life. It had it pros and cons. Yes, she would do better than her peers in class, and she would be more accurate with spellcasting and the making of potions. But she would never actually be satisfied. Even in the times when she was, it would turn into a feeling of necessity, of need. She would need more of it, and nothing would be good enough.
Still, it was not as though could help it; it was who she was, and she had accepted that some time ago. She knew she should embrace the pros and try to work with the cons.

Autumn did not have a clear idea of when she had developed her perfectionism, but she had a pretty good idea of why. Her mother, through her entire life, had placed impossible expectations on her. She grew to put them on herself. She hated continuing her mother's views on who she should be even when her mother was not there. But she could not help it. It was who she was, and she needed to accept that.

She had to grow up, accept that, even when alone, she would not relax and try her best. She would be stuck-up Autumn, always needing to be the best, not doing her best, but everyone else's. She would constantly refuse any expectation which was less than perfection. It helped her, or at least that was what she told herself. It hurt her, but she would not dare admit it. She just had to accept that this was who she was, and move on.

After all, this meant she did better academically. This meant she succeeded far more often. This meant she could better cast spells. This meant she could get the ingredients of a potion right, down to the single drop. This meant that this was not a bad thing, and that she simply needed to accept that and stop being so hurt when she did not reach her standards. She had to stop crying, stop being sad, stop being lazy, and reach her expectations, because they were achievable.

Well, at least, that was what she told herself.

Describe why this fits your character:
Rafael… he really did worry about his classmates sometimes.

It was, he supposed in hindsight, a mutual feeling, one shared by most of those attending the British School of Magic. And who with a right soul wouldn’t? After all, it was becoming quite a normal occurrence to face near-death experiences, fight monsters, and face off with fellow students in the halls of the old castle, a small fact that tugged at the mind of the young Captain as he drifted off to sleep each night. A dangerous environment it was – and the young man would know well, having grown up in the streets of Buenas Aires, Argentina. Only the dangerous, only the unruly thrived in such environments, while others shrunk into solitude, hiding themselves from a disastrous relationship with Lady Danger. And Rafael knew he could survive, of course, having faith in his own abilities, his instinct to survive.

He was more than capable of defending himself from the horrors of the school of magic. But could he protect his classmates from himself?

The Blossom Ball was a… well, it was a memorable evening for the young Captain, one Rafael wouldn’t be able to forget for a long time. Though the dance had taken place many months prior to the present day, the sounds of screaming, images of the monstrous creatures, the… the flames… they were stained in his mind in glorious HD, as if they had only just happened before his eyes – it was, in its simplest form, a feeling the young man hated above all else, a sickly, poisonous sense of disgust that sat deep in his chest like a bad case of pneumonia, forever cursing him to anxiousness, brash actions, ill thinking. It had always been the Fernandez way, the boy supposed, letting others down. His parents had done it enough to him to have taught him that much. Even so, the act of ignorance would never sit right with the boy, nor would his selfish desire for success. The heart was, after all, a selfish creature, or at least, this is what the boy had reasoned vainly one evening as he laid in his bed in Barking.

However, it wouldn’t be until the school year had properly begun that he’d taken an interest in a solution.

It would, in fact, be such reasoning that would follow the young man to the Quidditch Pitch one fateful day, the new school year having just dawned on the child as he journeyed out to practice his skills on the playing field. Alas, clutching his birthday gift between his rough hands and chocolate eyes darting around the terrain that was the Pitch, the concept would slip into his consciousness like a fresh breeze – what if he could? Save them, he meant? What if, instead of being the bane of those around him, he could be the hero? The very one those around him could count on to be there when they needed it the most? This was the birth of a new concept, one that would hopefully come as a helpful to his teammates. The training would start that very day, the boy deciding to forego all other maneuvers in the name of one specific defensive one – drill after drill after drill, blood, sweat, and tears he’d put into his labor, pushing himself to be the best he could be for his teammates, his friends…. and no, the maneuver he sought to learn wouldn’t be an easy one, especially to a child so gifted in putting himself first on the field. Yet, in the midst of his exhaustion, his very grip waning on the broom he so errantly clutched, he would not give up. For there was only one thing that mattered at this point – rescuing his mates.

It wouldn’t be until after the first Quidditch game that he’d properly master the maneuver. During a solo practice a couple evenings after the event, he would finally discover an inkling of familiarity within the maneuver as he twisted about on his broom… so, his toil had finally paid off. “Good,” he would mutter to himself in determination. Good, because with this newfound skill, never again would another friend find themselves imperiled by his hand… in the least, not on the Quidditch Pitch. He found a bit of peace in that revelation, an inkling of solace in his own ability to rescue another from the dangerous scene where the blood of schoolmates still stained the dirt. It was an occupational hazard, he decided, one that made the game an adventure. And a right adventure it would be.
Because it didn’t matter who fell. Rafael would catch them.[775w]

Describe why this fits your character:

The sapphire starlight was once a treasured friend of Lace's, but as she aged, the obsidian sky haunted her time of wake. The doctors called them night terrors, bursts of fear that came with visions of darkness. Though evil was not all that she saw in her sleep, at times she saw light, even hope. Quickly fear became her friend, her alley during these midnight crusades. Her mother Hannah, tried very hard to seep into her pool of denial, into her pit of unease. Though the causes of her terrors' were never truly solved, the girl learned to cope. She found hope in the day and happiness in the light. The morning was her sanctuary. As the sun crept in her window, her eyes fluttered awake the promise of a restful mind would finally be hers.

It would take years for her to be capable of rest again. Long days and longer nights filled the Koin household. Her grandmother thought her to be damaged, cursed by something truly wicked. She was just a scared girl, unready and unsure of what she was meant to see. In time she would discover that she was truly gifted, beyond that of an average witch. She had the ability to see beyond the present, gain insight into the future, and with that knowledge, manipulate the coming events. Though her family was naïve to this gift, as it was such a rarity, so for now it would go undiagnosed.

Physically she was normal, well as normal as the next girl, but at times it was like she could sense when she was in danger. As a child she once used her intuition to save her kin. The Koin family was out on an average outing, on an average day, driving their less than average car. They took the route they always had, which happened to cross over the tracks of a train. As the car approached the tracks, no train in site, the shrill of the girl caused her father to slam his foot against the brake. Just moments before they would have been on the tracks. Alarmed they turn to look at her, though she seemed unbothered. Seconds after the large arm that blocked the tracks begins to fall and the sounding of a bell rang within their ears. A train was coming, had she not alerted them, they may have been on those tracks at a disastrous time.

Her parents chalked it up to coincidence, as the girl was hardly old enough to read at the time. Though it was something within her that told her to shout, or tragedy would become them. It was moments like this that would continue to happen in her life, some thought it to be dumb luck, or a guardian angel. Though truly it was her gift, a rarity of wonders. With it she would one day be able to mold the future to her liking, be the champion of her own story. For now she was a young girl who attends the school of Hogwarts, unsure of her true potential.

Morwenna Bennett never fitted in. She was a witch, but never counted herself as a real one. By the age of seven, she could regrow her fingernails in a split second after she had been chewing them constantly. By the age of ten, she could change her hair colour freely. By the age of fourteen, she could change herself to look like any of her friends, anytime she wanted. When she was seventeen, she could change her appearance to anybody she saw if she spent at least an hour with them. She was different. She was a metamorphmagus.
When she left school, she fell in love with Nesta Perkins. He knew about the wizarding world, but he was not a wizard. He was a squib. It made him sad that Rowenna could do magic, but it didn't stop them falling for each other. No. It just compelled their love. They married and had two children together: Leif and Rosalie. Leif went to Hogwarts, and was a metamorphmagus, just like his mother. He was also a Ravenclaw, the Bennetts being them for years. However, Rosalie was not like Morwenna or Leif, she was like her father. A discrace. She was a squib.
Leif made his parents proud. He became an auror, due to his ability, and had a child. Though Rosalie was a disgrace to herself, she was not to her family. She moved down the coast from Newport to Cardiff, and opened a cafe on the outskirts there, called 'The Welsh Bean'. The cafe then was passed down to her eldest son, Sage. The cafe was passed down for years, building up a good reputation, until Rowenna, Lily's mother, came along. By this time the magical world had parted with the Perkins family, and they considered themselves as muggles. They practically were, and nobody showed any signs of magic until Lily.
Lily, like her great-great-grandmother, never fitted in. She never knew she was going to be a witch, or that she already had the power to be one. She had no idea who her family really were, and never found out that she had magical blood all along. It was never really in her at all, but she was magical, and was proud of it. her hair colour changed daily without anybody (sometimes including herself,) realizing. It was usually a dark brown, but could range from almost black to a dark blonde. Nobody knew of her ability. She told nobody. Not a soul. Not even Pansy, her eight year old sister, whom she trusted with her life. Pansy was good at keeping secrets, but Lily didn't trust her. Just this once, she kept a secret to herself.
Morwennna was long dead by now, and had been for years. Lily did not know it, but Trevon Bennett, a sixth year at Hogwarts, she was related to. They are eighth cousins, and do not know it. When they pass each other in the halls, they do not even look at each other. They do not need to. Trevon is a normal sixth year. Lily, however, is not a normal first year. She is different. She is a metamorphmagus.

Damion was born to a wizarding family. His parents were both wizards- well technically a witch and a wizard. He had a normal life- well something a pure blood wizard can expect. He wasn’t spoilt- being the only child back then. He loved everything that was given to him. He appreciated the time that he had got to spend with his friend. Dylan was one of his friends he had a strong connection with. When Damion was eleven he moved to Hogwarts to pursue his studies. He always missed his friend, Dyllie.

Damion’s friendship with Dylan didn’t break up due to their distance. It only strengthened. Damii has always treasured friendship a lot. He treasures being in company of good people and friends. He likes to keep a friendship alive. He doesn’t give up on his friends. He loves making new friends. Life was just starting out for him. A part of him knew that he would always miss his friends from back home but he also knew that if he wanted to be like his parents he had to get through his schooling and stay away from people that were his comfort blanket- his parents and his friends and well Dylan.

Damion is a very helpful soul and thinks that he has the caliber to help others. He believes that the ultimate help is the one that can be extended to others and not just himself. Well this doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care about himself. He does care about himself- but he’s a team player. He wishes to do things that would help his team win the games. He looks out for others as well as himself. He cares about what his family and his best friend would think about him. He wants to impress them.

Well besides that, he does want to have the ability to win. He wants them to be proud of him. He thinks that if he has the chance to do something to make sure he’d win the match, he’d give his hundred percent in it. He’s not a sore loser- mind it. He has a good sportsmanship. Some people say that his heart is made of gold- he cares a lot about other people and their feelings. He’s a good friend, a good competitor and well all in all a good person. This doesn’t imply he doesn’t care about himself. He does care about himself. He tends to put others above him at times.

I feel that this ability will help me because I think that I lack a part of myself. I want to put myself more out there and be able to get my shyness away. Being able to not only help myself as well as help others would make me grow in the direction where I see myself. I want to make people know that Damion White does care. I think that this would make the people I care for see that I can do things on my own and do not need them around every step of my way. I want to prove myself to the people I care. When I say that I mean my parents, my younger sister and well my friends. I think this will give me an opportunity to show that I can help others without thinking a lot about myself. I feel that it not about winning or losing- to be honest- it’s more about how you play along with others. I feel that being able to prove that ‘it isn’t all about winning or losing’ I might be able to find myself a little more. I want to be able to separate myself from my own comfort zone.

I want to see where I stand if I’m left alone in the world without the comfort of the people I have known in my life. I want to discover who I am without them being there. Well this doesn’t mean, I don’t care about them. Oh no! This means quite the opposite of that. I appreciate what my parents have done for me. I appreciate that they gave me a chance to discover myself. I won’t be disappointing them that is for sure. I appreciate the friendships I have had. Dylan has been a good influence on me. Seeing him be selfless wants me to be a little more like him. I really like how Dylan sometimes doesn’t care about what he wants or what he needs. He used to make me feel so special. Well I want to prove to him that I am worthy of his friendship and of him. I want to show him that I can be my own person and no matter what anyone else says, I would do what I think is right. I feel that this ability would help me grow and become more like the people I care for. If they can be selfless- so why can I?

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Lovely Creature
Describe why this fits your character:
Family genetics, fashion style, mannerisms or not, Adonis has always had a irresistible appeal to the eyes of others. Perhaps it came with the name 'Adonis', a prominent figure in his own story of a Greek myth that was known for his beauty and the mortal lover of Aphrodite. Or maybe it didn't. Either way, one could most likely agree that Adonis' looks and presence certainly went with the name he was given. Adonis Caspian Thorn. The first two were noble and had a sense of entitlement to it for him, of course. The latter... not so much. He was also born to beautiful families on either side. Although, the father's side could be disagreed upon possibly due to their gothic aesthetic, but were good looking nonetheless. His mother's side had a mix of reddish-brown hair with either blue or grey colored eyes, aside from his mother whom surprisingly landed with a light brown. As for his father's side, they seemed to all usually carry some sort of facial hair, dark brown or black hair for the most part with hazel colored eyes.

Being raised in a pure-blood household, he was taught the proper etiquette and mannerisms as one would, the performing arts, how to dress himself nicely, etc. Everything that he was taught was to make himself stand out, to be able to make his presence known the second he stepped foot in a room, to draw the attention of another away from their current interaction and towards him, to command the attention that most would crave. This is what he was taught. At least he was taught this from the Lancier's due to spending every winter and summer break with them. His parents were much different in their teachings and ways. Less traditional to be exact. His parents didn't exactly agree with how the Lancier's did things and Adonis was to never get near the Thorn's because his father steered clear from them.

Adonis didn't mind any of the things he was taught though, he never even intended to do or act the way he was taught to by the Lancier's, it just came rather natural and instinctual to him that he was to be made a distracting person to look at. The young Thorn never seems to notice all the much either when others stare at him while passing through the halls to go from one area to the next. He was oblivious half the time to say the least, but there have been times where he's caught people looking at him and would in turn just simply smile at them. Luckily enough, Adonis got the best of both sides of his family. Perfectly colored brown hair, light golden brown eyes with a perfect amount of hints of green, a nice light tan color, NOT a big nose, shaped eyebrows, and enough fat on his lips to where they were far from being two mere red colored lines.

With the performing arts that he was taught from a young age, he learned how to do a variety of things. How to sing, play instruments, and even ballroom dancing. The playing instruments part he had forgotten for the most part by now. But the singing and ballroom dancing? He absolutely loved and he most certainly knew how to keep not only his partner's eyes set on him the entire time but also the entire room those who would watch him elegantly dance, commanding to rest all of their eyes on him and only him. He made sure his beauty was not known only through his physical appearance but also the things he did.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Evasive Maneuvers
Describe why it fits your character:
Maria’s innate intuition has always given her an uncanny natural timing. Growing up, even as a small child, she almost always was able to be where she needed be, when she wanted to be. The several times she was able to steal the occasional sweet from their pantry for example, was a result of her always being able to maneuver their kitchen counters and cabinets. She always knew when it was best to do it too, when her mother Laura would take her shower before leaving almost every 8AM after feeding her daughter. This “talent” was enough to make Laura silently curse the day when she learned how to get around on her own. It was a relief to the mother that she no longer needed to carry around a heavy baby, the fact that she was as slippery as wet soap made for a different problem. This was how she’d find her small daughter out of her bedroom and outside her mother’s bedroom door. When she got a little older, or sometimes she’d end up in her father’s study, often going there undetected to read after bed time.

As she got older and her interests and curiosities shifted more towards books and individual activities, these shenanigans lessened. Her intuitions however, didn’t necessarily go away. She had moments where she could easily avoid falling things in the nick of time, like falling glasses at the diner for example. If anything, they were only amplified. Several hours doing laps around pools preparing for competitions enforced fluidity in Maria’s muscles, helping her move seamlessly through the water. Sure she wasn’t the most grace thing to grace dry land, but some of the reflexes just seemed to translate.

When her mother realized that Maria had picked up her father’s habits of staying inside with stacks of books, she made an effort to take the young girl out for nature walks. Weekend trips to mountainous terrains meant Maria eventually became adept at avoiding different obstacles. Maneuvering herself around rocks and trees, jumping around on boulders became just as easy as walking, and she was just as fluid as she would be in the water.

Given of course, she wasn’t distracted. There have been times where being in her own head has worked against her favor, dulling the sense and just making her clumsily bump into things or fall into things. This intuition may still be a bit raw and uncultivated and she has yet to master it but it’s gotten her out of more unsavory situations that she could count.
