Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Fearless

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

As the only child, Atlas was a quick student of mischief and found herself constantly in the pursuit of causing trouble. Her love of life and excitement superseded her fear of consequence both from her parents and from any danger attached to her antics. As long as she felt like she was having fun, the rest was secondary. Her family traveled often, including several long periods to southern Africa. While there, Atlas began a tight friendship with Ethen Emrys, another student from a family of magizoologists. They often took their love of mischief into the bush where they would come face to face with both magical and non-magical creatures.

From running from creatures to fistfights in the mud, Atlas grew up scrapping with her companion and made sure that her parents had their work cut out for them with her boundless energy. Even in moments of peril, Atlas found herself laughing hysterically more often than not. When she was faced with serious danger, Atlas would think more critically but that wouldn’t mean she was ready to back down. To her, there was always some fun to be had.

Not to be outdone by her male companion, Atlas was ready to face any challenge or dare with a smile. Her arms and legs carry the many cuts and bruises of her recklessness but it has never been a deterrent for her continued chaos. With her father as an Auror, Atlas grew up on the stories of dangerous witches and wizards and learned much about the darker aspects of her world.

But Atlas took this knowledge and became determined to protect those around her, especially those she cared for even if it brought her harm. During her first year at Hogwarts, she sustained serious injuries in her attempts to defend Ethen during the fire that struck Hufflepuff common-room and Atlas was quick to jump into the fight against the mosps that terrorized the school’s ball. Her own safety was compromised but Atlas would never abandon those she cared for, no matter the risks.

Not a stranger to hardship and pain, Atlas has grown increasingly determined to enjoy her life and time at the school. She won’t allow potential consequences or dangers stop her from exploring to engaging in high-level mischief. It may be from a mix of stubbornness and determination, but Atlas strongly believes that it is better to face the scary moments than turn and hide. Running from creatures and parents may have evolved into running from prefects and professors but Atlas’ determination to enjoy herself remains firm.

First year ability → Advanced Casting (WC: 627)

Angus didn’t suspect becoming an excellent wizard right away in his first year of Hogwarts. However, the boy also didn’t suspect being such a terrible wizard already in his first year of Hogwarts. There wasn’t a single spell that would work for him as he wanted. Incantations repeated over and over, along with really enthusiastically waving his wand just didn't work. The best results he managed to achieve ware a few minor explosions. Putting it simply - Angus seemed talentless.

Nevertheless, during the first two or three weeks of school, his problem didn’t bother the Gryffindor that much. Many other students weren’t natural and also struggled, what comforted the boy. The fourth week got him a bit scared; most people from Gryffindor and other houses too managed to master at least the basic spells. He was still in the phase of accidental successes that would usually happen when he was tired, irritated or distracted and never lasted long. After almost two months at Hogwarts, the boy was convinced that he was the worst first year student there. Angus’ troubles didn’t exactly help at making new friends; his shyness progressed, and he would preferably spend his whole time in the library where no spell-casting abilities were needed.

The Gryffindor caught himself expecting that one day he’ll wake up, go to class and simply won’t fail like thousand times before. He studied so hard before and after lessons, there had to be some results. Unfortunately, every following day proved him wrong. Classes were loud and everyone could observe his unsuccessful attempts to cast not that difficult spells. He really wanted to practise extra alone so maybe he wouldn’t get so easily distracted. Unfortunately, every try ended shortly after starting with him being unreasonably paranoid about whether anyone can see him struggling.

Instead of the ‘magical day of a sudden success’ came another, absolutely regular day of Angus having to deal with the transfiguration class, again. Turning a matchstick into a needle couldn’t be that hard, what other students proved rather quickly. Except that this time, it was a bit different. Because of unlucky coincidence, the boy sat down in front of a specific person, someone a hundred times better than him at casting spells. To be clear: there were lots of people who were better than the Gryffindor in this aspect. They just weren’t as satisfied with that fact as this person. And maybe thanks to that someone, or more precisely - thanks to their arrogant look of content and laugh addressed directly to Angus, the boy did something he never even tried before. He straightened up and said the incantation at least three times louder than usual as if he knew perfectly what he’s doing. For a moment he even believed in that himself. But nothing happened; the spell didn’t work. Angus had to try two more times but when the third attempt turned out to be a success, he was thrilled. Still, it was better than he ever did.

Right after classes, trying to remember all the things he felt and did during his little ‘breakthrough’, the Gryffindor headed towards the grounds. The place wasn’t empty; people could see him failing without any obstacles. But maybe that was the point?
This time the match transformed into a needle the second approach.

Observing the progress was nice. While becoming a little bit better every day of hard practise, the boy tried to remember the time when he struggled so much, that was important. It didn't happen overnight, but after a few months, he could say that maybe, possibly in the aspect of casting spells, Angus was one of the best students in his year.
Second year ability → Prodigal Charms Learner (WC: 431)
Reducio
Angus Watson was a curious one. Someone who didn't know him might think that Hogwarts would satisfy his uninhibited curiosity. Of course, they would be very wrong; the school of magic was actually the perfect place to get into even more trouble caused by his nosiness. Angus' success was not blowing up anyone. Because of his untamed desire for knowledge, he was in many, many detentions, and almost learned his lesson. Almost.

As always in case of Angus, it all began in the school library. Wandering between the shelves looking for unspecified something, he stumbled upon The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 3 by Miranda Goshawk. The boy passed by not giving it a single thought. Almost. He was definitely a second year so trying to cast spells he wasn’t currently taught in the charms class could finally result in blowing someone up.

Angus returned to the shelf with the “forbidden textbook” rather quickly.

The boy made a poor risk calculation. He was unexpectedly good at charms. He didn’t make (many) stupid ‘accidents’ during this class and his grades were decent. Angus was a bookworm; he had already finished reading every textbook in his possession, and he knew The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 2 by heart. If he won’t get expelled before the next year, he’ll read the third part anyway. Also, the boy wouldn’t practise any advanced spells, only harmlessly read about them. Of course, learning a few incantations and gestures was inevitable but without proper exercise, it would mean almost nothing, wouldn’t it?

The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 3 was devoured by in Angus in a spend of a few hours. The boy had to sacrifice his potions essay to do that but it was worth it. Now, he had to read the next three parts. Not to arouse suspicion, he started borrowing books from his older friends. The content of each of the volumes was, well, magical. Angus would read them during the breaks and classes, hiding the textbooks under his desk. When alone, he couldn’t help but to almost unconsciously repeat the wand movements and mutter incantations under his breath.

Running out of charms textbooks didn’t stop Angus. Hogwarts was filled with books about charms that the boy didn’t give a thought before.
The Gryffindor kept books borrowed from older students for so long that they wouldn’t want to lend him anything ever again.

Eventually, he couldn’t refrain from practising all the charms he learned. After all, it was almost safe and definitely fascinating.

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

The end of the last semester had passed and Layla realised how much she actually missed her parents. Her parents were full-born wizards like Layla herself. They always told bed time stories to Layla about their magical experiences. They also explained how their family gained magic through the years because not everyone in the family used to be a full-born wizard.

It all started a very long time ago with Layla’s great grandfather who is called Roberto Everhart. He was a funny looking guy but he had such a huge and warm heart. He had many friends in school and even the teachers adored him. One time, a new girl came into their class. The teacher introduced her to all of the students and you could just see everyone’s eyes gathering up on her. Everyone was amazed by the way she looked.

For someone who is in her late teens, she already had formed beautiful grey hair. That is why everyone also started to be afraid of her because they did not know who she was. Roberto could hear his pals behind him smirking as they were joking she was a freak. Roberto got all this rage built up inside of him as he bursted out “IS THERE ANY CHANCE YOU GUYS COULD BE NICER TO THIS NEW GIRL?!”

As soon as he said that, the bell rang. The pals were shocked and left Roberto by his own. They told him he needed some time-off. Roberto, on the other hand, could care less what they said.

During lunchbreak he came up to the girl. He asked what her name was.

“Hi, my name is Evelyne. You must be Roberto, right? Thank you for sticking up for me”. As she smiled with her beautiful, bright and white teeth. This was the beginning of the relationship between Layla’s great grandfather and her great grandmother.

- Fast forward 10 years later -

Roberto and Evelyne were now in their twenties and they both graduated with honor. Although Evelyne hasn’t said many things about her side of her family, Roberto could feel there was something mysterious about Evelyne. So they started talking about having babies and Roberto was getting excited. That’s when Evelyne told him she has to explain something to him. Something she had hidden from Roberto all these years out of fear of losing him. Roberto just knew she had a secret. So he kept Evelyne in his arms and soothed her that nothing was going to happen, even after she told him her little secret.

Evelyne cleared her throat and started ratlling about how she and her family were wizards and witches. Evelyne explained the reason why she had grey hair was due to her being a seer. She used to have only intuïtions when she was younger about what would happen but now they developed into visions. As she was rattling about it, she could see the shock in Roberto’s eyes. She knew she had to quit talking otherwise he would run away, she figured. But instead, Roberto held her and gave Evelyne a kiss on her forehead. He told Evelyne he isn’t scared or anxious, he still wanted Evelyne to be part of his life, nonetheless she was magical or not, Roberto even thought by himself, Evelyne being a witch, was an exciting fun fact about her. Evelyne looked with her green eyes straight at Roberto and because of her magic, she could feel he meant it. That was true love right there.

- Fast forward 100 years later. -

Layla’s mom always told Layla that it was because of Layla’s great grandfather’s courage and warmth they had formed this special family full with wizards and witches. The reason why Layla was a full-born wizard now is because her mom married another wizard.

Layla always loved hearing stories about her great grandfather Roberto and her great grandmother Evelyne. Layla quickly figured out she must have the same special powers as her great grandmother. Layla looked up to Evelyne. She handled her magic with grace and empathy and that is how Layla also wants to be perceived in the magical world. Layla had also been starting to experience vivid dreams and it wasn’t long until she had realised her intuitions were always right.

That is when she knew she was a seeer and it was a magical moment for both Layla and her great grandmother who is looking down on Layla with proudness and grace. Layla looked up to the sky and smiled. She was ready to go to her second year at Hogwarts.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Werewolf
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): He was very interested in half-breeds when he was younger. He really liked half-giants and other things like that. There was a werewolf in the town he currently lived in, which he visited regularly and made friends with him, he had never seen his transformations and never wanted to. But one night....

Wish knocked on the door to Mr. Sarrow’s house, it was in the outskirts of town near the woods. It looked more like a cabin than a house, and was very old. It was a full moon tonight and he wanted to talk with him before his transformation. “Mr. Sarrow?”
There was no response, “MR. SARROW?” He called again, louder this time.
“What, is it?” A gruff voice sounded from inside the cabin. “I- it’s me, Wish!” There was a sound of a lock clicking and the door opened a little
“Can’tcha tell the time, kid?” It was getting dark, “It’s nearly nine! You can’t be here.”
Wish looked into Mr. Sarrow’s eye, “Can I only stay for a few minutes? I want to talk to you”
“If I could let you, I would”
“Please sir?”
“No. I don’t want to put you in danger”
“But I-”
“NO!” Mr. Sarrow yelled this time, Wish was taken aback.
“I- I understand sir” Wish left and set down the road.

~~§~~

As he was walking back to his home, he couldn’t stop thinking of Mr. Sarrow, all alone, to deal with his... condition. Wish sat on a trash can on the side of the road, and thought. He soon came to a conclusion and set off to a house of a potion maker.

“I need a wolfsbane potion.” Wish declared as he walked through the door. He had never thought of this, and was practically scolding his mind for being so stupid. How could I not think of this before? There’s an amazing potion maker in our town and... I’ve been so stupid!
“What?! Who would you need it for-” The potion maker —Mr. Ecless— knew what he was going to do, “No. I will not make you-” he glances to his back storage “Besides it takes more than a month to brew!”
Before he could say anything else Wish pulled out a bottle of.. feathers. They were something he always carried around with him, they were rare and he knew they could be used for potions, Howlet wings. He had found them on the ground when he was searching the woods. Howlets were a rare type of owl,
“Not even for these?”
“How did you get... those? I never heard a Howlet in these woods”
“Take them. And get me a wolfsbane potion.”
Mr. Ecless laughed, “HAH! You talk big!” He came to a conclusion.
“I have a wolfsbane potion in my stores, take it, don’t say anything and leave”
Wish was overjoyed! He set his bottle down on a table, rushed into the back, got the potion, said a rushed “THANK YOU!” and ran to Mr. Sarrow’s home.

It was about nine o’ clock by then, almost time for Mr. Sarrow’s transformation. Wish knew he would be in the woods, so he turned and rushed into them. “MR. SARROW?!” He called into the darkness, his parents are probably very worried, but that didn’t matter to Wish right now, he had to get to Mr. Sarrow.
Thirty minutes later, he began to get tired and at that moment, he heard a howl. Wish got scared, he was nearly ten, he didn’t want to die and never get to Hogwarts! We started to run away from the sound, he could hear rustling in the bushes and the sound of paws running on the dry ground. Wish tripped on a branch and saw, a wolf, Mr. Sarrow, come out of a bush in a hunting crouch. Wish thought “This is where I die”. The wolf jumped on him, and bit him, hard, on the arm. Wish was overwhelmed with pain, and dread, even if he survived this, he would never be the same. In this moment Mr. Sarrow got off to kill him, but he stepped on Wish’s pocket and broke the bottle of wolfsbane potion. The glass got stuck in the wolf’s foot and it yelped and ran off.

A day later someone found Wish, laying on the floor, covered in blood, and unconscious. They rushed him off to St. Mungos but, there was no cure for a werewolf bite. Wish later found out that Mr. Sarrow had been hunted and forced to leave the town, and Wish, now a werewolf, was never the same.

That’s the story I made for him, and now for the reasoning. Wish wants to be a magizoologist and he was especially interested in half-breeds as I said earlier, and had a friend centaur but eventually the herd moved away because of wizards. It fits him because he was young and he had werewolf friend since he was seven, he was careless and pretty naive since he was young. So it fits for him to be bitten and turned, as he was not that careful. This was the only night he had gotten a wolfsbane potion for him, and the werewolf (Mr. Sarrow) had always just gone into the woods with no potion. Which made him even more dangerous, the wizards had already been debating Mr. Sarrow’s exile and that was what Wish wanted to talk to him about.

Year 2 | Terrible Presence
Word Count|509
Reducio
Alaric Equinox, a spindly young boy who spent a good deal of his first year being taunted and picked on for his half-vampire heritage. Not knowing how to deal with his bullies or even process his emotions, he often tried to resort to intimidation to deter his pursuers. This came in the form of hissing, growling, unsheathing his fangs, and trying to make himself look far more significant than he was. To his dismay, none of these things worked, at first. He left his first year at Hogwarts, slightly discouraged because he had not managed to fend off any one of the jerks that just wouldn’t leave him alone. He did, however, finally manage to cast spells right before his final exams, which lifted his spirits.

Going home to his live-in nanny, Victoria, he finally confided in the torment that had gone on all year long. Alaric never spoke about it to anyone because he feared that he would only be seen as the problem and be expelled if he made too many waves. Victoria took the summer to get him into a workout routine to help burn off his anger and negative energy constructively. She also taught him how to stand taller and not to haunch down or hideaway. Instilling a sense of pride in him for what he was. He was to stare down anyone who said otherwise, and even if he didn’t believe it now, it was better to fake it until he did.

The first time he noticed something was different was during the sorting ceremony feast, and the students gave him more elbow room at the table. Initially, his thoughts drifted to the fact that no one wanted to sit with the freak dhampir, and he started to hunch down and focus on his food. Victoria’s words telling him to sit up straight and be proud of himself rang through his head, and just as he did at home, he obeyed and straightened himself. He garnered a few stares and some whispers, but people left him alone for the most part.

The trend continued when he walked down the halls people gave him a more full berth even at the most crowded of times people would scamper out of his way or push themselves against the walls. He heard silly rumors about the air getting colder when he entered a room or passed someone in the hall. Or if he was encountered in the evenings when he went running after supper around the quidditch training pitch that he would send the shadows themselves to try and track you!

Alaric would only chuckle to himself every time he heard these rumors, and while they did not deter his most fearless of bullies, it did deter the rest of the lot and made most of his time during his second year more bearable. It was lonely being a presence that everyone else thought was terrible, but it was better than being picked on more often than not, and it allowed him to pursue his studies more.

Year 4 | The Martial Artist
Word Count|425
Reducio
It was indeed the incident at the end of his second year that got him into the martial arts. Being race baited into flying into a blood rage and feeling so much uncontrollable emotion inside of himself scared him. He never wanted to feel that way again. He had been sent home early via portkey right after his second year exams and was told that he would be given one more chance, but if he could not learn to control himself, he would be asked to leave the school for the safety of the other students permanently.

Victoria reached out into the magic community to see if anyone would be willing to come and teach the young Alaric, and thankfully someone answered. His name was Braden Anderson, and he would become one of the first positive male figures in young Alaric’s life. For the summer between his second and third years, they started off with Tai Chi, known as meditation in motion. Braden knew that if he was to work on Alaric’s quick to anger issues, he needed to teach the boy how to control his Qi. They started every morning at dawn, practicing Qigong, which focuses on the energy surrounding the breath. Braden would go on to teach Alaric two forms of Tai Chi, the Chen family style and the Sun family style. Both came with their benefits depending on the situation or the need of the individual. The Chen style was comprised of alternating slow and quick movements with intermediate bursts of power. The Sun style focused on a variety of vigorous crouching, leaping, & fa jin in smooth and flowing moves.

During his third year of school, he would take time before every breakfast and after every supper to go out and practice what he had learned. During the breaks at school that he was allowed to go back home, Braden started to teach him the basics of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which began with a basic martial arts lesson. Controlled punches and kicks things that he could still practice alone while at school. It wouldn’t be until the summer between his third and fourth year that he was introduced to the typical grapple tactics and chokeholds that Brazilian jiu-jitsu was best known for. Continued in future years he would go on to learn other forms of martial arts as well.

All of this allowed him to have a better understanding of himself, how his emotions functioned, but, most importantly, how to control himself in uncontrollable situations. After all, what mattered most in an uncontrollable situation was what you did have control over, and that was your own choices and actions.

Year 6 | Evasive Maneuvers
Word Count|526
Reducio
Running around was something that he did a lot of in his life, especially in the forested mountains of Vermont. Victoria and Alaric limited how often they went into town as much as they could. It involved putting in contacts and talking as little as possible so that no one noticed they both were missing their canines. Questions in a small town were never good, in fact, neither was being different. To avoid these situations, they kept a garden during the warmer months and took what they could from the forest, including hunting the local fauna.

Victoria had taught Alaric how to hunt, but being so young, he was to stick to the smaller animals. Rabbit was often on the menu when Alaric got to go out. He took pleasure in being light-footed even through difficult terrain passing through the trees as if he was one with the forest itself. This left young Alaric a little cocky in his efforts when he found himself stalking a 300-pound buck with an 8 point rack. Deer look sweet, and in many symbolic references, they symbolize innocence. However, that is often underestimated in the department of power. Something the young Alaric was incredibly guilty of when he pounced on its back. The enraged male deer started to run and buck to get the boy off of him. Alaric realizing his colossal mistake, let go flying off into a pile of fallen autumn leaves. The deer, however, turned on him and tried to smash the boy with its hooves. He swiftly rolled away, avoiding the powerful ground stomp and sprung to his feet only to luckily dodge the rack of antlers that tried to impale him. His saving grace was scaling a tree until the deer left, and he could go home.

Luck would seem to be on his side for the most part, but not always. During his time at Hogwarts, he gained a small pack of bullies that did not care for him being who he was. Occasionally he was caught and put in situations where his nimble feet did him no good, but other times, he lost them running through the halls. The boy who was used to dodging trees at a full run now had people and sharp corners to dodge. At first, he was a little clumsy and bumped into people; after all, trees were stationary, and people were moving targets. After a few years of learning the halls and the students' flow, he found himself effortless fleeing through the halls with a minimal touch on someone’s shoulder here or back there to get through as smoothly as possible without knocking anyone down.

As the years progressed, his tormentors became a thing of the past, and he acquired friends. Now having no need to fly through the halls, his friends and him sparred working on dodging techniques for both physical and magical attacks during the school year in empty classrooms. During the summers and winter breaks, he had Braden to help him continue the pattern in a more controlled state, teaching him how to further trust his instincts and allow them to work for him.

Adult Ability 1 | Perfectionist
Word Count|405
Reducio
Alaric was a terrible spell caster he spent almost his entire first year of school not being able to cast correctly at all. Either the spell fizzled, and nothing happened, or the spell backfired on him in general. It wasn’t until a month or two before final exams that Alaric started successfully casting spells and just enough for him to pass into his second year. Luck may have been on his side when it came to his strength and his fancy feet, but indeed not when it came to his arcane prowess.

This prompted him to start focusing on his studies as if his life depended on it. Which wasn’t precisely wrong considering a rebounding spell could easily cause severe bodily harm to him or his allies. On top of that, his pride wouldn’t allow him to become an expelled student or a dropout. So he dug his nose into his books and slowly and carefully practiced every spell incantation until he was utterly confident in his ability to speak the words without any fault. He broke a stick off a tree and matched it to his wand length as much as possible. He spent day in and day out practicing with his stick before daring to ever try it with his wand.

It was then the at the time Astronomy professor took him under his wing and allowed Alaric to practice under supervision in a safe environment. The professor allowed Alaric to practice until the boy exhausted himself and was there in case any counter curse was needed for a backfired spell. Somedays, he practiced until his arms were tired, and his voice hoarse other times he was practically ready to pass out on his feet.

Throughout the years, he started to catch on a little bit faster, and instead of only being able to cast by the end of his year, he was learning his new spells by the middle of his year. His progress had been slow and steady, but working three times as hard as his peers were finally paying off. While he was still not the best spell caster by the time he graduated Hogwarts, he wasn’t failing spells nearly as often, and rebounds happened even less than that. While becoming a perfectionist in casting work for regular people made them seem more powerful than their peers around them, Alaric put forth the effort just to try to be average.

Lindsey’s quite a good natured and interesting girl. But what sometimes makes her seemed really boring is, her lack of creativity.
Pranks, forbidden things and breaking rules were all certainly not her cup of tea. Her mother said she’s probably the most well-behaved child in the world, who would not do anything without permission.
However, her brother and cousin are probably both the biggest prankster in the world. Especially, her brother.
“Hey Linnie! I heard that a muggle scientist’s moving to our next door! Let’s——”
“STOP DOING PRANKS!” Lindsey broke in, yelling. “I DARE YOU TO TELL DAD!”
So, Edmund Springhall’s prank plan did not work due to the rejection of his sister.
Lindsey’s certainly not good at dressing and that sort of things too. She would wear the most common dress or T-shirt during summer, while other same age girls dressed like——a blossom flower. Lindsey’s pretty, that’s true, but a common clothing made her to look like a really common girl that you could not pick from the crowd.
Although her lack of creativity caused some small problems for her, there’s some good things brought by this.
For example, Lindsey’s extremely good at math, physics, and chemistry.
She seemed born with a keen eye for statistics, and if you gave her stats and a chart and let her fill in, she’d do it within 3 minutes.
Lindsey was sent to a muggle school when she was young although being a pure blood witch. Her parents thought the muggle’s education was definitely better than the wizard’s, so they took their two children there.
They had heard that muggle boys were usually good at the math things, while girls were excellent at Literature. As a result, they hoped that Edmund could be good at math, and Lindsey, at Literature.
But they soon found out that they were wrong on this point.
Edmund’s, well, simply adored Literature. However what made the two parents amazed was Lindsey’s talent on math.
“You won’t know, Mr. and Mrs. Springhall, that Lindsey’s born to statistics.” her math teacher said.
“Ah…I guess that it’s because of her lack of creativity…” her mother replied.
“That must be the case.” the teacher said enthusiastically. “She does mostly everything the textbook says, and unlike other children, it makes her unexpectedly smart and talented. Because maths, although needs some creation, requires your preciseness and rigor.”
Sadly Lindsey left the school when she was 11 and got to Hogwarts. She did math problems at night, as usual, and did her best to solve all of them. She’s still a bit lack of creativity though and hadn’t broke a rule or did a prank on anyone so far.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for:
Sixth Sense
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Autumn had always had quite the intuition. She did not know why, nor did she have reason to care. She would simply have an instinct, a gut feeling, some sort of perception, awareness. She could feel whenever the decision she was about to make was the wrong one. At times, she would still continue along with the decision, because she did value rational reasoning and logic over intuition and instinct. A gut feeling would not get her good grades, would not get her a job. A lot of the time, she would simply dismiss it as paranoia. And, maybe, it was. But in the end, no matter how logical the course of action, if she had not listened to her intuition, the decision would always end up blowing up in her face, one way or another.

If asked to, she could instantly remember multiple times her intuition had helped her.

One of them was the story of the kitten on the road. The kitten had been black, with large green eyes, and lovely, oh, it had been lovely. Autumn had been 9 when the event took place. She had gone to pet the kitten, and it had wrapped itself around her arm, and Autumn, the 9 year old cat-lover she was had smiled widely and began talking to it. Then, she had felt her skin rise. Instantly, she had felt that something was wrong. That she had to leave, get out, vanish, just be anywhere but her current location. And so, she had listened. She had held the cat in her arms and had ran off onto the sidewalk, only to realise she had narrowly avoided an oncoming truck, which would have brought upon with it almost certain death. Her mother had made her give away the cat, which Autumn had named Yasahiro.

Another would be Nidea. Nidea had been Kasia's (Autumn's mother) closest friend, yet Autumn had always disliked the woman. There was something off about her. Autumn was 8 when she had met Nidea. 8 year old Autumn had not been pleased when she had realised that she was just about the only person who disliked Nidea. It was so strange. Nidea was nice, there was not mistake there, and the type of person that felt incredibly trustworthy, but Autumn had known. By the age of 9, Autumn had internally declared her dislike of Nidea paranoia. She was simply being silly. That was it, nothing more. By the age of 10, Autumn, alongside her mother and sister, had learnt the ugly truth; Nidea was a grifter and a fake friend, one who had been loaning money off of Kasia for 3 years with no intention of ever paying her back. In fact, it was Autumn who had caught her, Autumn who had given in into her intuition and Autumn who had followed Nidea home and then searched her house when she had left. It had not been acceptable for her to do that, Autumn knew that now, and she could not excuse her behaviour, but what was done was done and Autumn had found Nidea's suitcase and diary. Suitcase, sprawled on bed, surrounded by clothes, indicated an immediate change of scenery, and the diary did nothing but confirm it.

Of course, there were many more, but these were only some of the memorable times Autumn had used something others would, at times, call a "sixth sense".

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Part-Goblin
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio
Family. A word that brought many mixed feelings for Gargott. On one hand it brought him a warm and fuzzy feeling, almost intoxicating. Yet quickly and mercilessly followed through with a sharp pain, a feeling like he couldn’t breath, his throat choking up. A pain that is so wretched and vile it would leave a lesser creature immobilised, yet Gargott had come accustomed to it… As far as one could ever get accustomed to this kind of feeling. From a young age he had always held a fascination from what kind of people he descended from, yet it had appeared that it was a herculean task. Neither of his parents had much cared for history. His mother a Muggleborn, yet gifted with an extraordinary gift and on the other hand his father, who also had inherited from his parents this gift, but had always looked different. As a child you don’t stand still with that fact, it is trivial, however as one grows older… Questions rose and although they were a transparent family his father had always evaded those questions, like he wanted to hide his heritage. Gargott had always had the distinct feeling that his father was… Ashamed. Years later when Gargott had reached the age of 17, his father was lying on his deathbed and upon his final days, Ulkrus had gathered all of his strength and courage to finally confide Gargott in his secret.

Born to a union between his Goblin father and Wizard mother, Ulkrus was born a Part-Goblin. The relation between his parents was all but a loving one, as it had been a political statement. His father a cold and calculated man and his mother a loving and caring woman, had nothing in common except for two things. The first and foremost being the equalization of the Goblin race as a whole, which would be resembled in allowing the Goblins to wield a wand and attend magical schools. The second being the love for their only son. Ulkrus’ childhood could be summed up as non-existent. From a very young age his parents had started indoctrinating their political views and learned him of how ‘special’ he was. Half-Goblin, Half-Human, the perfect hybrid in an imperfect world… Or was it an unjust world? If you asked the Ministry of Magic one couldn’t really come up with a defining answer to this question. According to his parents however, it all was due to the fact that Wizards were afraid of Goblins. Jealous that Goblins could cast spells without wands, afraid that if they were allowed to wield it they would overthrow the Wizards. Living quite the sheltered life, Ulkrus’ mother had tried to shield him from the Ministry of Magic’s gaze by homeschooling him. His father had started to teach him all there is to know about Goblin smithing. On Ulkrus’ 18th birthday his parents had planned to make a decisive blow to the Ministry. In secret the Half-Goblin’s parents had contacted a wandmaker so they could gift Ulkrus a wand of his own.

The mere thought was preposterous, yet they had convinced the wandmaker by promising him a Goblin made artifact. As they obtained the wand, it took another minute before Aurors had showed up. It would’ve seemed that one of their ‘trusted associates’ had betrayed them and both of them had earned a one way trip to Azkaban. Ulkrus had emphasized to Gargott that his parents were mad and nothing more then fanatics. According to him there was no pride to be had in his ancestors. But Gargott thought differently. His grandparents were willing to risk everything for their beliefs. Although they were radical, Gargott believed their core ideal to be a righteous one. From that day forward, Gargott swore that once he had graduated from Hogwarts he would learn more of his Goblin heritage.

Name of Ability or Race that you Are Applying for: Seer
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Seers have been rare but not unheard of in our family tree. My great great grandmother was one. She saw the persecutions of people that were different during the time of Kiser Wilhelm. The industrial revolution was in full swing and science ruled. During this time my great great grandmother saw in visions (so they were understood at the time), that we would be identified and brought to trial. She was able to convince our family's impending doom, they bought a fishing boat to cover their exodus from the content. we arrived in Edenbough, Scotland, to make their home, because of the persecutions on the main land. we as a family hid our talents, and never talked of the gift of magic outside the family.
There are legends of male seers, they have been shunned, because this is a predominantly female gift in Germanic culture. This is part of the reason my reluctance in excepting the gift.
Many times, I assisted my grandmother on her trips in the woods to find herbs. During those times we would talk and she told me stories of our exodus and some of the magic our family performed. It was she that noticed I was gifted with magic and the ability to see more. It was grandmother that broke the silence of hiding magic. Before this time my parents got letters to go to Hogwarts but refused to go for fear of being exposed.
As a child I would go fishing with my uncle and seemed to know exactly where to cast to ketch fish. I was told I had a lucky steak but it felt deeper like I knew, but I did not voice my feelings and let them call it luck.
There was a time that I had a dream that felt so real that I insisted than my uncle not to go fishing on a bright sunny day. It was in the early spring and it was great fishing weather, and wind was blowing from the south. In the dream I saw the wind changed directions and a storm appeared out of thin air. The waves grew in height and small ice burgs drifted south to the fishing grounds that was teaming with fish. I saw all the fishing boats get damaged by waves and ice burgs. There was not one escaped and many lives was lost but few survived, but my uncle was not one among them that survived. There was no way I could talk my uncle out of changing his mind about going fishing, but I was able to convince him that it would be to many fishermen in one place. We decided to go fishing towards the English Channel. We caught a lot of fish that day, and as we returned back to Edenbough we heard of the loss of life and the way it happened. I only talked to grandmother about the particulars of the dream, no one else knew. I was a little ashamed of my so-called gift, I thought in some ways it was a curse. Most of what I felt or said I kept to myself except to grandmother she always knew how to get me to confide in her. Grandmothers you have to love them.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Evasive Maneuvers
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Evasive Maneuvers seemed like a natural defense when you had something to hide—like a mother who was dying. As such, throughout her childhood Elspeth had developed a natural way of dodging and hiding.

Following her mother’s Huntington’s diagnosis, Elspeth did not enjoy seeing Tess’ humanity robbed from under her. When the spasms first started, Elspeth would hide in her room, hoping this would simply pass. But it didn’t pass. In fact, it got worse. When Tess would pick up objects and drop them harshly as a result of a muscle spasm, Elspeth had to learn to jump out of the way. She didn’t like doing this, but she didn’t want a frying pan to land on her toe either. As the failing got worse, something as simple as helping her mother to put on a sweater required precision and patience. Otherwise, the young girl might end up with one of her mother’s arms lunging towards her face.

Tess’ condition did not just take a physical toll, but a cognitive and emotional one too. She became much more prone to being angry, especially as she found herself unable to do the simple physical feats of a healthy woman of her age—feats that had not seemed out of reach very long ago. In her frustration, Tess would start screaming and yelling. After one such an outburst in front of Elspeth’s friends, Elspeth was so embarrassed, she was determined not to let this happen again. When she could tell her mother was getting angry, she would move quickly and away into another area of the house, quick to dodge the difficult situation that was likely about to commence.

Her father, Gregory, would shake his head when Elspeth stealthily removed herself from situations involving her mother, but he couldn’t blame the girl. It was exceptionally difficult to grow up in a house embedded with Huntington’s Chorea. It was a difficulty that translated to the outside world as Elspeth found herself a bully victim as other children couldn’t understand or relate to what she was going through at home. Over time, she learned to jump out of the way in time to avoid any serious physical injuries. Her father had enough to deal with at home that he didn’t need her coming down with injuries.

Sometimes advantageous and sometimes just another way for her to avoid difficult situations, Elspeth’s ability to dodge, honed through childhood, became an important personal defense. She’d already been through so much; she wasn’t about to play victim to more tragedy.
