It was during Alan's second year, when he first was introduced to some magical creatures at Hogwarts, and it had been exciting. Of course he had seen some creatures before that, he had seen them from afar and encountered them in the wild. However it seemed to be quite a different experience for the young boy to actually learn about them and gain knowledge about what he was doing. He was not feeling like he just acted out on instinct, but that he actually had an impact on the nature around him and that he could influence a creature's action by the way he behaved around them.

The end of his second year however was what truly had started this discovery, that with the way he acted, he could help out by only his presence. Alan had been strolling around on the grounds of Hogwarts when he had found a shiny object laying in the grass. Like a normal person he instantly believed that it could have been something that a Niffler had stolen instead of assuming that a student may have lost it. It also was not just any object, it had been a prefect badge so it must have been from a prefect.

When Alan had finally found who he assumed to be the culprit, the Niffler, he was overcome with worry that the grounds were no place for the creature to roam. Another thought crossed his mind, that the Niffler might belong to the Care of Magical Creature professor. So he tried to lure the creature closer by baiting it with a shiny coin that was dangling from his necklace. Alan would have succeeded in his task, just like that, if it was not for Alan being interrupted by another student. But all in all, it ended well and the Niffler was safe; picked up by Professor Griffith himself, who allowed Alan and the girl that was with him to hold and pat the Niffler for a while.

The life lesson he got from the professor that day would surely accompany him for a long time. Alan valued the professor's words and found them to be quite smart and wise, as he could only agree with what had been said.

"If you're excited around a dog, the dog, too, becomes excited. It can understand the energy behind the words. Even if you call it a bad dog, if you say it with joy and enthusiasm, the dog will become happier as well. This works with all emotion, emotion is reflected, attitude is broadcast. It's a universal language that all beings on earth can understand, to one extent or another. Humans, too. Happiness is contagious, after all."

Alan will not necessarily remember the words or exact phrasing the professor had used, but he would keep the meaning of those words in the back of his mind. Together with the fact that he had been able to draw the Niffler's attention moments before just by being calm and collected, had made the boy figure that this was truly working. Generally Alan was a kid that would like to help others and try to always be genuine, so this was just an additional experience to settle his values that by staying calm you could accomplish a lot and not only help yourself but others along the way.

Evasive Maneuvers

Description to explain why
From an early age Thomas was always encouraged to participate in athletics. His mother gave him the opportunity to play anything he was interested in. He played almost every sport, ultimately deciding to pursue ice hockey. It was uncommon in England; the ice rinks were few and far in between. The gear was costly in addition to joining a league. His mother’s past as a figure skater led to excitement for his interest and made things work financially to create the opportunity.

Thomas joined a hockey club at age 7 and continued to hone his athletic skills. It did not take very long for him to develop an effortless stride. There were many evenings spent with his mother on the ice to enhance his skating ability. The stops and starts helped develop strong agility, and strength in core and legs.

Two years later Thomas became one of the best players in his league, and it was in large part in his ability as a skater. He led his team in points for his age 8 and 9 seasons, prompting his mother to put him in one of the most elite boys’ hockey leagues in England.

In his rookie season, he met a strong resistance. The boys in this league were stronger and faster, some of them could skate just as well as Thomas, if not better. In addition, the league was physical and ultra-competitive. The coaches encouraged body checking to gain a physical edge and help prepare the boys for what was considered one of the most grueling and physical sports.

After several games Thomas found himself as a physical target, other boys would come after him to limit any productivity he could provide with the puck. He found himself squarely on his butt or slammed into the boards by larger boys. Over time he developed evasive maneuvers, the ability to sense and avoid the impact before it arrived.

Additionally, he gained a physical edge of his own. His coach engrained this in him as a player, often encouraging the players to push back. Unfortunately, Thomas took this message to heart, recklessly going after players at times. Sometimes it even led to fistfights that the refs would have to break up. Though this fighting also contributed to his innate ability to evade and protect himself. Unfortunately, the ice is where Thomas learned of his magical abilities. He channeled his rage through magic, forcing a boy’s helmet off his head and into the seats. Many insisted Thomas threw the helmet, refusing to believe it floated through the air. Despite pleads from his mother, Thomas was suspended indefinitely from the league.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Fearless // Charmer
-
Describe why this fits your character:
Fearless: Charlie was raised in the woods, surrounded by beasts of the wild and no real concern for the bumps in the night. His greatest fear of all has been social interaction if anything- and even then, he's rather good at being open and sociable with others.
The entirety of his childhood was spent in the woods, just outside the town limits of his quaint and lovely slice of the American pie. There were hardly instances of his life where he could be considered 'afraid,' as he's always been surrounded by the beasts of the deep words. Dark corners and suspiciously shaped figures only pique his interests and curiosity- instead of invoking some sense of terror or otherwise shaken demeanour. He had always been raised to face everything head-on- and because of that, it's hard to shake him.
His adoptive mother is a teacher and always endowed Charlie with as much knowledge as she could. He was homeschooled from his earliest ages and has a great deal of knowledge about the world around him (the muggle world, at least.) His rather empirical take on the world he sees around him also plays into his lack of fears, and rationalisation and the sorting of events and 'scary' things can be easily understood and compartmentalised for him. While magic has been somewhat of a surprise for him to comprehend, he still faces situations and his life with the same understanding, and more often than not can take what would traditionally impose a threat to him and push it towards understanding and rationalisation.
His adoptive father is a little less books, a lot more brawn. While Charlie might not have taken upon the strength his father has- he did receive the good old' dad advice that has made him a lot more adventurous than he would have been otherwise. His father took him out into the world from the moment he could walk, encouraging him to climb the tallest trees and squash the biggest spiders. His taste for adventure was almost always cultivated by his dad in the most integral part of his developing years, and hunting, fishing, and exploring the untamed woods in their backyard became a part of Charlie's very soul. Bounding through the unexplored wilderness in the face of adventure and excitement had made him an ultimately bold individual.
Between his knack for the wilderness he was brought up in and his encouragement for adventure, his empirical outlook given to him from years of study with his mother, and his overall love for escapades of any kind, Charlie could be very well considered 'fearless.'
WC: 434
Charmer: Charlie, well, he'd rather not admit he's got good genetics- but they're there. He's got some wits to him, yes- enough to be somewhat of a hindrance. Maybe it's his clear complexion and wide smile, or his rather tasteful hair which always seems to stick out in just the right way to be considered bashfully pleasant- but he's a rather nice looking fellow.
Though, everyone these days seems to be rather pretty- what sets Charlie apart is his accent and his mannerisms. He's naturally quite a bit inclined to the foibles of the south- and his rather interesting southern drawl and use of words such as 'ma'am' and 'miss' could certainly attribute to his charming disposition.
Charlie is from Texas, deep southern Texas, at that. It comes with plenty of interesting vocabulary and mannerisms you might not find in the average Londoner or Scott- with his inclination to help those in need, and always be available to people who need him, he'd garnered somewhat of a habit of helping strangers- truly reflecting the southern hospitality charm that comes from his home. He will, on most occasions, call people 'Miss' or 'Mister,' with the occasional 'Ma'am' or 'Sir' sprinkled in, and is outwardly empathetic to other's misfortune or hurts. He has a thick accent, with the twang and drawl of a gentleman from an old movie, and the hospitality of one too.
He has been described as having the personality of a gentleman cowboy on more than one occasion: and there's a reason for that- his soft demeanour, bright eyes, and tendency to care has made him a rather charismatic person. He is well-read and well educated from his adoptive mother on plenty of subjects regarding people and social behaviours, and despite his age is very mature and intelligent towards other's behaviour, and can react accordingly- making him seem rather endearing upon first contact. As he is well-read, he more often than not has plenty of muggle-subject knowledge under his belt that helps him excel in an interesting conversation with those around him.
His sweet demeanour and well-to-do attitude towards others makes him an extremely fascinating character and the accent is sure to help with that- leading to why many might consider him charming- or, in fact, a charmer.
Considering his southern hospitality, upbringing and well-read nature, along with his generally non-threatening and soft expressions and empathy towards others, Charlie could very well be considered a charming individual and an endearing friend.

DO NOT POST HERE: Application for Magical Races/Talents and Special Abilities
Encyclopedia Link: Dmitri Kazimir Jones
Name of Ability or Race/Talent Being Applied for: Perfectionist, Perfectionist II, Spell Spread
Why It Fits:
Perfectionist: There are only a few students out of the whole school that can confidently say they were true perfectionists--and Dmitri is one of them. Of course, his ego might have been slightly inflated because of this fact (whose wouldn't?), but he has the academic talent to show for this.

You see, he's a student who won't settle for easy O's (note the language used, as any grade below an Outstanding is not in his vocabulary). No, if there were other texts that referenced a topic in his homework and lessons, he will include that in his discussions. Dmitri is nothing but thorough in his academics. He doesn't only cross his Ts and dot his Is, but formulate a diagram for them too!

Organized and well put-together, his schoolwork receives praises from his professors--and deservedly so!

Ultimately, his report card will prove his perfectionism--to his knowledge, he might be the only student who has kept his straight O's. He has thirteen (13) so far.  Not to brag.

It is only formality to grant him this ability--he was already a Perfectionist in his own right.

Below are some of his previous professor's testimonies to his work:
"I was incredibly surprised(in a pleasant way) to see such detail in your work. Please continue this, I'm always happy to see students express such care and organization to their work. Despite you breaking up your answers the way that you did, I'm very pleased. I did not take points from your answers because the context and quality of your answers well exceeded my expectations."
"This is possibly the most thorough answer I have received for this lesson yet. Definitely accurate, and definitely good work. You have exceeded all of my expectations!"
"Good work. Like the extra effort and reading you did. Keep up the work on future assignments!"
Dmitri doesn't yet fully understand why he was the way he was--but upon a deeper inspection in the future, he'd be able to connect his past experience with trauma to his present values.

He has always blamed himself for his mother's death. It was due to his accidental magic that his mother perished--at least, that's what Dmitri thinks. He couldn't be any more wrong--but no one has told him otherwise (poor boy). It was--to his knowledge--in his hands and his errors that his only beloved person in the whole, entire world disappeared from his life forever--and maybe that is why he makes sure he'll never do the same thing again.

No mistakes will ever come out of his magic again if he could help it. He'll make sure of it.

But that's a thing Dmitri will still yet learn in the future.

Today, he'll start with doing everything he can to make sure he succeeds in his school- and spellwork. His pronunciations are clear, his wand-movements are crisp, and he can probably tell you all about the history and etymology of the spell as he uses it, too.

Dmitri's work is perfect, and so, too, are his spells.

Words (except Professor Testimonies section): 409
Perfectionist II: The entirety of Dmitri's first two years at Hogwarts was spent focusing solely on his academic career. He has dedicated his full attention to acing any and all lessons he was given, that he has totally neglected and foregone any type of social interaction besides common decency with his fellow students.

This will explain his total lack of socialization with other members of the school and his non-participation in the significant events that have transpired since then; he was too busy maintaining a perfect-O GPA to give a single damn! He couldn't care any less about a few disappearances and a few accidents.

Unless it started to affect him, that is--which was precisely what happened at the dawn of his third year when Slytherin house was attacked by an army of mutant spiders.

But that's a story for another day.

What is important to note, however, is the fact that Dmitri is addicted to this power: this intellect and the predictability that it involves.

His first year at Hogwarts was spent discovering the degree of control schoolwork could give him.

The childhood trauma he has experienced was one that involved situations spiraling out of his control and comprehension--of a world spinning too quickly for the liking of a 10-year-old kid. Of a world too big for a child's hand. This childhood trauma will eventually feed Dmitri's need for predictable and controllable situations--of things he can handle and of things he can comprehend.

His intellect was something he knows personally--its limits, its power, its capabilities. There was nothing unpredictable about it.

It was perfect.

Dmitri can depend on his knowledge and depend on his magic. Nothing can go wrong--he has made sure of it.

It has since then lost its spark, however.

A young boy can only rely on predictable so much. No wizard can ever escape the unpredictable for too long.

Slowly but surely enough, threats and accidents are coming closer--too close to Dmitri's liking, and he'll be forced to finally put that intellect to the test.

Would he ever use his skills to help his peers? Or will this desire for control warp and lure his young mind into dreams of domination? Only time will tell.

For now, though, he's starting to go out more. But his perfectionism still shows in the way he acts and speaks to his schoolmates.

To note, this can also perfectly make up for my OOC hiatus plot-wise. I can simply write off my non-participation in the Main Story the past year-and-a-half as Dmitri's deliberate choice between "thrilling action" and a "predictable and safe (boring) academic career." It only makes sense.

Word Count: 437
Spell Spread: The thing about totally disregarding any and all social interaction and participation for a whole two years was that it was immensely challenging to stand out in the general crowd of students. Of course, burying one's nose in textbooks and lessons had its advantages--say, academic recognition and a certain sense of self-pride in one's accomplishments--but it was totally different from having these accomplishments and for people to see it, too.

This was what plagued Dmitri since the start of his third year at Hogwarts. He was at that point in his teenage life, where approval starts to matter more than his personal preferences for solitude and isolation. Yes, he usually kept to himself, but if people just got to know him--!

Granted, he knows this is hard to do when you generally despise most of the other students you've come across, but in his mind, he figured it was more of a "them" problem than a "him" one. Dmitri usually lets his actions speak louder than any word that can come out of his sharp mouth but still hasn't realized most teenagers his age and younger haven't gotten enough of a grasp of this concept yet. Fortune favored the bold--in this case, the bold were those that readily made friends and treated social interaction like an unconscious-but-necessary course of action.

There were perks to being constantly in the sidelines, though. People talked more when they think no one's listening in. Others divulge more than enough information when they assume there wasn't anyone to use it against them.

The Slytherin in Dmitri rejoiced in this fact, but the angsty teen inside him waged war at his unwillingness to just... go out there!

He has since then unconsciously found ways to compensate for his lackluster talent in social functions. Dmitri, being the overachiever that he is, channeled this desire for recognition in his spellwork.

The Slytherin tends to overdo the flair of spellcasting--unintentionally making his spellwork a grandiose theatrical experience for those around him to see. His spells seemed to be grander, more overt, and more substantial in scale compared to the average student. The urge to do more than exceptionally well in his schoolwork translated into his magic quite easily. There weren't many like him inside the educational institution, and he made sure that people knew it.

This need for approval from an outsider's standpoint may be counterproductive. There has never been a wizard who was too sure of their own power that hasn't experienced a terrible fate in the history books. But in Dmitri's case, it was more of a juvenile defense mechanism that would hopefully be broken down by friends and acquaintances he can make down the line.

He was a continuous work-in-progress, a conundrum of a child--a child who desires attention but can't bring himself to initiate the connections needed to acquire it. Dmitri will learn to cope differently with this lack in the future, but for now, he'd continue to impress with his intellect and magical talent--he has nothing else going for him, otherwise.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Components

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): Sylvain knows better than others the joy of gathering things that belong together into collections. Pairing rocks of a similar origin, catching bugs during spawning seasons, and pressing leaves for later reference are easily counted alongside his other multitude of hobbies. He always has just the marble to show off, or the exact football card he needs to finalize a trade.  His pockets are often in need to be emptied of mud, and every now and again, the frogs from beneath his bed need freed their misplaced prisons. The collections that he takes the most joy from are the flowers his mother grew for him. Now they are petals, pressed between the pages of his journal, yet another place to hold parts of his interconnected collection.

There is an eccentric, yet urgent, quality to the nature of his collections. Typically this nature is best seen in the form of components hidden away until just the moment before they are needed. As a result of this, his room is a near constant cycle of freely organized clutter and the typical fluctuating garbage you’d expect from a disorganized and lazy child. This is not to say that any part of his collection is up for grabs, or trash to him. It’s all a part of his collection and whether or not he chooses to share is his decision to make. He spends plenty of time collecting most things; it is just that some things are there exactly when he needs them most. His inability to part with it for profit is clearly the result of his emotional attachment to every bit and crumb.

To Sylvain, his collection became a part of who he is during his early childhood. They are the items that make up his journey so far, the gifts that have been given to him by life and the treasure with which he hopes to learn. A collection of his is certain to grow, and he is certain to grow even more collections. Cards, candies, herbs, potions, spells, books and more are among his varied interests. Not to mention the various experiences and sensations there will be for him to discover at Hogwarts.

Sylvain’s collections are used to help others. He uses his collected knowledge to help the people around him grow stronger, because strong friends are a valuable collection. He uses collected ingredients to make potions, which he will then use to further his knowledge. Among those collections he knows he’ll cherish most, are the collections he’ll share with others; Knowledge, potions, and memories. Word Count= 425

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Interception Ability
Reducio
Chaser's Interception

A special skill known by the best Chasers where they have swifter than normal reflexes.

Prerequisite: None

Effect: When a Quaffle is being passed, users with this ability automatically get a chance to Intercept the quaffle. This does not replace their normal action for the round. This put the quaffle in your and by extension you teams' possession.

Also, if the Quaffle is dropped for any reason, you would automatically (without it taking up an action) attempt another Quafflegrab. At present there would be no mid-round way to drop a quaffle due to the order of operations, however there will be certain effects in future patches that can cause this effect.

Describe why this fits your character:
Donnovan has always had an eye for Quidditch. And being as his father was a famous Quidditch player for the Falmouth Falcons, he may have one or two skills handed down to him. This skill is built for chasers, which is what Donny is, and it just fits his blood line, and his skill set very well. He is very aware of his surroundings, and is quick to notice small things in the light of action. He has tactic, especially whilst he plays Quidditch. His father too, had the very same skills from his early Quidditch days here at Hogwarts. But being that Donny's father is in Azkaban prison, Donny feels that he has to live up to his fathers potential, and carry on his Quidditch legacy. Donny may not be in Gryffindor like his father, but who says he doesn't have skills. He'll leave others in awe with his reflexes, and I honestly think this will fit him well. He is very skilled in Quidditch, even though he just started out, and he is still getting a feel for it. This skill will also be beneficial to him. He does have some bad self esteem, and he really just wants to be on top of the world, and prove everyone wrong. He may not be good at potions, or History of Magic, but if there is one thing all Perrywinkle's have in common, is their skill, and snappy Quidditch skills.

He is brave for a Hufflepuff, and skilled as well. He wants to make his family proud, and he has the skill set to show for it. It all started when he was young in muggle primary. He would get chased around in school for being weird, and small for his age. And the other boys though he was weak, and had nothing to show for himself. Until one day he signed up for the school football (soccer) team. His skills soon made him very popular, and yet very despised by the other boys. He was quick and agile at just the right moment. And he was small, and fast. This advantage was what made him feel good about himself. He soon joined basketball, and also became a catcher in baseball. He soared in almost every sport he did. And his family couldn't help but notice his resemblance, not just in looks, but in skill to his father's. He knew that one day, he would be just like his father, and become the greatest chaser Hufflepuff had ever had.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Prodigal Transfiguration Learner

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio
Coming from a purely Muggle background was a large disadvantage for Donald fitting into Hogwarts at first. Wizards had a rich culture and history that he simply did not learn about growing up and he certainly had no experience with magic. When the veil was lifted it instantly became a race to see if Donald could catch up to the other kids. A race he could never win in everything.

Don read as much as he could on the subjects available at the school. What it meant for abilities, career choices, and more. He decided that he loved the idea of being able to change things into other things, adjust appearances, and all the wonders that were opened with transfiguration. It somehow seemed like a mix between Muggle science and the limits of magic. Donald was hardly a bookworm in most things and did not consider himself as a first year to be amazing, he worked hard to do well in all of his classes despite it not coming naturally. Transfiguration became an obsession he read ahead on, even begging his parents to help pay for the next set of books. It was tough to convert Muggle wealth into wizard wealth, and the family wasn't rich. But they pulled through for their weird magical offspring.

The young Fish boy found himself practicing and studying transfiguration more than anything else. As a muggle born it was fascinating to see something change in front of him. Charms, sparks, curses, and potions all seemed somehow less... tangible and real. Even herbology just seemed like angry plants from the Muggle world sometimes.

One of the biggest internal dilemmas for Donald is fitting in. He wants to make friends and seem like part of the community rather than a muggle who knows nothing. Being able to change things, adjust his appearance, or make his possessions seem more magical all seemed to make sense to accomplish this goal. Tough study sessions to get ahead in this class were worth every bit of stress if it meant being able to fit in or even seem ahead as a wizard.

As a muggle child, Donald spent a lot of his time outdoors enjoying nature, skateboarding, or playing cards when indoors. He did not spend a lot of time studying because Muggle life was boring, simple, and didn't let you create as well as magic. It was better in his mind to enjoy time with friends, family, and relaxing things. While some interpret that as a lack of intelligence, Donald was just more worried about other things. Turning things into other things had so much prank potential and so much cool factor. Once he knew it was possible, he had to learn it all just as he had learned the tricks on his skateboard or the strategy to poker.

Describe why this fits your character:

Flashback Start Annie blinked as her mother repeated the words again. "I'm going to be homeschooling you be cause I think it will help you focus better." The little 7 year old huffed and crossed her arms. "Why do I have to? I want to go to a big school like Aria!" Annie's mother sighed. "Honey, she's moving and I don't want you going to a school where you won't stand up for yourself when other kids try to bully you." Tears pricked the small brunette's eyes and. "Its not my fault I can make [mod edit of spelling error to make things pg] things float. Why do I have to be such a freak?!" The little girl screamed at her mom, tears pricking her eyes as she ran upstairs and slammed the door. End of Flashback

Annie sat up in her bed. She gasped, feeling for the familiar bed sheets around her, but they were just the one's from her dorm room. The girl sighed and put her head in her hands before softly beginning to cry.

Flashback Start A small knock came from the other side of the door before her mom stepped into her room. Annie' small figure was crumpled under the covers of her bed. Her mom sat down and let the silence fill the room before speaking. "I'm sorry baby girl, but I can what if I make it up to you by buying you icecream and going to the park?" The mention of icecream and the park had perked her attention and she poked her head out from the covers and nodded slowly. Her mother had a gentle smile on her face and got up off the bed to head down stairs, Annie right at her heels, now bouncing with joy. The little girl stopped and gave her mother a serious look. "You know I still don't forgive you right?"  Annie's mom let out a laugh and Annie's frown deepened. "Why are you laughing at me?" Her mom had a sparkle in her eye and a grin on her face. Because you are smarter than you know little one. How about two scopes of chocolate will that make you forgive me?" Annie's eyes lit up. "Deal!" She squealed and ran out of the door, her mother quickly following behind her. End of Flashback

A small, momentary chuckle came out of her lips before she could stop it. Annie quickly wiped the tears from her face. She turned to her nightstand and wiped her thumb over a picture of her mother.

Start Flashback Annie grabbed her mother's hand trying to drag her and make her walk faster. The icecream truck was in sight now and she saw a man in black standing by casually, not looking their way. As they neared Annie screamed "ICECREAM!!" The child's scream attracted the attention of the man and he gave out a big smile before turning his attention upon the girl's mom, morr importantly her purse. The guy moved his hand to his side quickly and Annie narrowed her eyes, before seeing him pull out a gun. She had raced ahead and could see it but her mom couldn't. "MAMA WATCH OUT!" The lady turned her head to look at Annie as a bullet hit the side of her skull. The man, ran off and Annie let out a shriek, her eyes wide in horror as he mom slumped to the ground. End of Flashback

Annie's hand was trembling as she ran her thumb down her mom's smiling face. In fact, her whole body was trembling. The gun shot and her own screams rattled through her head as she sat on the edge of her bed in a silent shocked state.

Start Flashback The little girl held a man's hand and in the other hand she held a bouquet of yellow roses and daisies. That man was her father, he wore an unreadable expression on his face as the Ding! of an elevator sounded. The two people stepped out and made their way down a hallway before opening a door. Within the room was a bed which the girl's mother laid on. They were in a hospital room. The little girl went to the bedside and kissed her mother's cheek, tears stinging her eyes again. "I wish you could come home- if I never threw a fit you wouldn't have been shot.." A small lump formed in the girl's throat but her mother carefully laid a hand on her cheek and spoke quietly. "If I hadn't turned my head when I heard you, I would be dead Annie." Annie stepped back, the tears still stinging her eyes and her father stepped forward to take her place. He gently embraced his wafe and gave her the flowers Annie had previously been holding. It was only a month after the incident but Annie had already sought out a revenge plan. She couldn't remember what the guy looked like besides him wearing all black but she vowed to not let any harm come to those who loved. How she would do this? Annie would train with the help of her father to become stronger. And train she did. She did rock climbing and archery every day and even went to the gym with her dad sometimes. But her favorite activity was the monkey bars at the park she used to go to with her mother. The park was called Hope Park, at that's what it gave her, Hope. End of Flashback

Annie took a deep breath with her eyes closed and opened them. She didn't know what time it was but nor did she care, she got up off her bed and started doing push ups, one after another, then squats and lunges. It helped her brain think and helped her calm down.

Start Flashback Two years later. Annie kept up her promise and did her exersize and training. Soon she was able to out push up and out run her dad. It was an amazing feeling of being strong, knowing that you could help others in a situation. Annie didn't hold her dad's hand this time. She smiled down at her mom in a wheelchair as she pushed her to their car. Her mom complemented her on how fit she had become as well as how mature she was at her age and being able to handle this. Annie beamed at the compliment from her mom. Soon they arrived back home and Annie helped unload her into the house. She went to the kitchen to get her some water when her mom began speaking. "Annie- your father found this in the mail today." Her mother held out a letter assigned to her and Annie cautiously tore it open to reveal a Hogwarts acceptance letter. She looked awestruck and then stole a glance at her mom's smiling face. Annie hadn't seen her this happy kn awhile and it melted her heart. Suddenly she felt another thought dawn on her. "This means I'm going to have to leave you-" Her mother's smile turned into a frown and she sighed. "Yes but you can visit for holidays-" Annie set the glass of water down harshly on the counter before swiftly walking over. "I'm not leaving you ever again after what happened- no I won't,  you can't make me!" Tears had already begun to pour down her face, but her mother offered her some comfort by placing a hand on her shoulder. "You and I and even your father knows that this is your future. I want you to have a good like Annie, so please, do it for me." Her mother's facial expressions which were normally soft, hardened and her tone turned serious. Annie felt her hand wip ees away some of her remaining tears and she looked up at her mom, the child within her longed to stay but she was a mature girl and had to make her own decisions now. She sniffled and let out a small laugh at how funny she must have looked. "Okay I will..for you." Annie nodded her head slowly and her mother told her to go pack her things. She reluctantly went up the stairs into her room. Her mother just came back from the hospital but now she was the one leaving. Annie sighed, feeling tears approach again but she pushed them aside. She counted down the days until she was going to leave for the train station, happiness and fear gripped her heart. The days raced by too quickly and soon she found herself standing on the edge of the platform. The train whistle called and she ran to her monther one last time, squeezing her in a death hug, holding in the tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "I love you Annie." She could tell it was just as hard for her mother harder it was for her to leave. Annie put on a happy face and waved. She turned back once before boarding. "Don'tworry about me mom, I'll send you lots of owls and be home for the holidays I promise. I love you too!" With that the brunette boarded the train, the whistle blew again and a puff of smoke whisked her mother out of sight as the train departed. "I promise." Annie whispered as she stared out the window in wonder. End of Flashback

Annie wiped the back of her hand across her forehead, feeling the beads of sweat drip from her brow. She finished doing a few reps and went to look in the mirror at her muscular body. Annie gave a small smile and imagined her mom smiling right back at her in the mirror. She had kept her promise.

DO NOT POST HERE: Application for Magical Races/Talents and Special Abilities
Link to your encyclopedia thread: https://www.hogwarts.io/viewtopic.php?f=169&t=10118
Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Keen Eye
Describe why this fits your character: Percy has always been able to see the tiniest details and objects from extremely far away. His family all have incredible eye-sight and this gene was passed to Percy as well, whether it be finding the makeshift snitch used in Quidditch matches between the siblings or just helping people look for something. Percy's family never really noticed his keen eyesight but a lot of the people he grew up with have, he is able to notice the smallest details in paintings, piles of junk and pretty much everything.
As Percy grew up he also played Quidditch with his siblings a lot and played as the Seeker. Along with being able to tell when to need to catch the snitch, he was able to catch it was not much difficult even if he was pretty young. Percy is able to spot the tiny and quick snitch flying throughout the air at crazy speeds within a few minutes into a game.
Any time someone is to lose something at his house, Percy would be the first to find said object. This led to plenty of speculation but Perseus was aware it was because of his strangely good eyesight. He's never even needed any glasses or aid for his eyes, his eyesight has always been a perfect 20/20 which is even better for what he wants to do here.
Small details is something he can see without any hints. Anything off about walls, windows, fireplaces, chairs and other stuff he can see. This would help him find secret passages in the possible future but also just helps him notice anything strange in general. With this skill, his father thinks Percy would make an amazing Auror with his knack for finding things that stick out easier than others. With his skill, this would help Percy get another chance to make his family and new house proud even if he was sorted into Gryffindor. Percy just wants to make his family proud and what better to use the skill he's been born with?
When playing Quidditch with his family, Percy is incredible. His flying is great, especially for someone his age, and while he isn't the best at dodging he is quite speedy and swift. This pairs very well with his eyesight and only makes him better. He can twist and turn exceptionally for an eleven year old, with practice it would just make him better.
