· Backstory ·

Airlia had lived her whole life in Finland where her family has resided for centuries in a small village called Taika with a population of 571. It has purely magical residents and very old traditions. Taika isn't accessible to muggles and it is considered one of the safest places on earth simply for the reason that nothing bad seems to ever happen to its residents. The citizens of Taika still pray to ancient Finnish Gods like Ukko and Tapio and generally they are known to be better in magics that are based on the four elements of nature.

The Winter family is a respected pureblooded family that has a long history in the magical world. In 1610 they gathered all magical kind in Finland to join together when witch hunts began and hid them deep into the forests where they became the first residents of a village called Taika. No muggles were allowed in and relations between wizards and muggles were forbidden. As the founder family of Taika, the Winter family were chosen to be royalty but gave up their crowns in 1947 to only carry the titles Lord and Lady as a means to be closer and more attainable to their people. To this day the Winter family are still strong and lenient leaders of tradition.

𝓟𝓪𝓼𝓽
Airlia was born 21st of December during a huge blizzard in the cold weather of Finland. The weather was a sign to the pagan people of Taika who believed that she would be as strong and stubborn as the snow was that night. But she was not as was foretold. Airlia was a kind and silent child, not speaking a word until she turned five. She was given etiquette lessons and taught pureblood history by her mother and grew up to be what everyone wanted; silent, obedient and lackluster. That is until her brother went to Hogwarts and started filling her head with ideas of independence, adventure, and her own opinions. It was her brother who taught her to respect all, not just purebloods and when the time came she was sorted into Hufflepuff where her kind nature fit in just right.

𝓒𝓻𝓮𝓼𝓽
The Winter family crest has been in use for centuries. It represents the family through symbolism and marks the Winter family estates and events. It holds value to it and can be found from a multitude of history books and the sign of Winter.

𝓒𝓸𝓵𝓸𝓻
The baby blue and silver that decorate the sigil represent peace, grace and their native country; Finland. The golden detail at the top is a sign of wealth.

𝓒𝓻𝓸𝔀𝓷𝓼
The two crowns in the crest represent their former state of royalty or noble blood. Despite the fact that the Winters gave up their claim of being called king and queen the crowns still stay in the crest for their titles of Lord and Lady.

𝓖𝓻𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓪𝓷
The Granian winged horse is a part of the crest as all Winter women have their own Granian and the family is known for it. But more than that the horse represents their elegance, strength and political power.

𝓛𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓷
At the bottom of the crest is the family motto: "diu ut sunt regnaturi" which means long may they reign. On both sides of that it says: "rex" and "regina" which translates to "king" and "queen".

𝓢𝓴𝓲𝓷
Airlia is pale. In a certain light, she can seem almost ghost-like or translucent. Her hair color blends against her skin and her cheeks have a healthy tint of rose to them. She has a few freckles here and there on her face but other than that her skin is unmarked. She doesn't tan as she hasn't seen that much sunlight in her life and burns quickly during summertime.

𝓗𝓪𝓲𝓻
My hair is icy blonde or platinum. It is nearly white and looses is pigmentation more and more as time goes by. The whole Winter family is known for their light-colored hair but Airlia is the embodiment of that trait. Her hair had natural wavy curls in it and it reaches almost to her waist.

𝓔𝔂𝓮𝓼
Airlia's eyes are a light blue like the color has faded with only a bit of a silver tint in them making her look alive. In sunlight, her eyes appear purple and she had been described as 'doe-eyed' because her eyes look too large for her otherwise petite face.

Airlia's face is mature for her age. Her jaw and nose are pointed, but she still has a bit of child-like roundness to her face. She blushes easily and her lips are plump. They appear to be the only part of her face that is always flushed with color.

With a petite structure and a slender frame, Airlia is much shorter than the rest of her family. She expects to grow and be as tall as them, but for now, she barely appears in pictures when standing beside them.

Aspen

A tree that grows in cold climates that don't have summers. This makes the aspen wood perfect for my wand since I come from the cold country of Finland where there are a lot of aspens. If an aspen tree grows alone it can grow and live for about a century but if it belongs to a cohesive grove it can thrive for several millennia. This suits my nature as a Hufflepuff since we do best in good company too and rely on each other a lot. This is why the wood is good for a bearer that is trusting and sometimes I am told that my pure trust in people is on the verge of naivety. Aspen is a great wand for those who excel at Defence Against The Dark Arts and Herbology which are some of my favorite classes. Aspen is a symbol of determination and overcoming doubt. A wand of aspen wood is very well suited for martial magic which means that its bearer is often destined to be a great duelist. In the 18th century, there was a dueling club named The Silver Spears. They were extremely secretive and only took members that possessed aspen wands.

Thestral tail hair

Airlia's wand had a core of thestral tail hair. It was used as the core of the Elder Wand that was one of the three deathly hallows and owned by people like Antioch Peverell, Albus Dumbledore, and Harry Potter last of which destroyed the wand after defeating Tom Riddle. Its characteristics are not easily seen and it is said to be "A potent yet tricky substance to master; only a witch or wizard who is capable of accepting death can do so, since only by them can a Thestral hair even be seen."

Rose quartz and carvings

Airlia has a wand with custom changes to alter its appearance. Her wand had vines carved into it from the hilt that has been shaper into a leaf-like appearance at the middle. The hilt is thicker than the rest of the wand which is delicate and petite and smallest at the tip. The hilt has a hole in it that reveals the stone embedded into the wand. Light pink rose quartz symbolizes unconditional love, self-love, kindness, friendship, motherly love and caring. It is the stone of universal love and brings back harmony to relationships. It purifies the heart, promotes inner healing and peace. It dispels negativity and increases fertility and protects offspring before birth.

· Fashion ·

My style is sweet and lady-like. I'm often clad in soft fabrics such as wool and felt. Pastels and other light colors are pleasing to my eye and I avoid wearing colors like black and dark brown. My favorite colors include white, baby blue, baby pink, light grey, and an almost nude khaki brown. I don't enjoy revealing clothing and my style can be considered old-fashioned. I love vintage clothing and I believe that dainty white buttons and lace details can make any garment look sweeter. I enjoy skirts but they can't be any shorter than a few inches above my knee. I like sleeves that reach halfway to my elbow and cute puffy sleeves are my favorite as long are they aren't too large and don't come with shoulder pads. I don't like to wear a lot of jewelry no more than a necklace is needed. I rarely wear modern muggle clothing but when I do, it's usually a plain turtle neck and a jacket. I dress in an almost childlike fashion.

· The Necklace ·

Airlia owns a necklase that turns from a bright light blue into black as an onyx. It was given to her by her best friend Ezekiel Onyx who used to say that the necklase was a representation of the both of them. Her; bright and kind. Him; A dark rebel.

· The Scrapbook ·

Airlia keeps a scrapbook that is petite and beautiful just like her. She holds pictures of her friends and family there, letters from her brother, flowers she'd dried and creased after they were given to her. It's where she keeps important memorabilia so she can look at them when she feels lonely.

· The Books ·

It is no secret that Airlia isn't the smartest. She also doesn't read much. But the muggle books she brought with her to Hogwarts are special. They are the ones she would read with her brother while sitting by their favorite tree in the forest. These books were the escape and quest she would embark on with her brother when they weren't allowed to have adventures at home.

· The Crown ·

Airlia's crown is something her family passes on generation to generation amongst the women of the family. It used to be her mother's but it was given to her at the age of ten on her birthday as tradition requires. It is the only beloved belonging Airlia didn't take with her to Hogwarts since it is far too valuable and fragile for the busy school life.
