While she was born with a head of blonde hair, Rhea spent the majority of her life as a redhead. The transformation was the way her magic first showed itself, in fact. Whilst wandering through the halls of the Bishop Manor library, Rhea found herself looking at a picture of a redheaded witch. Bored of her own plain blonde hair, Rhea wished she had gorgeous flowing red hair like the witch - and found her wish fulfilled. Only when she took a dip in the Great Lake (whilst accompanied by her friend, Rosie Parker, in fact!) did the red hair begin to fade, and during the summer before her third year her hair returned to its full blonde. She hasn't cut it in quite a while, and allows it to grow. Right now, it rests just below elbows.

Other than her hair, her appearance is rather ordinary for an English girl. Her skin is rather pale, though in contrast to the rest of her family, Rhea tans rather than burns. Dark blue eyes pierce all those who she makes eye contact with, thick eyelashes surrounding them. Her nose is bigger than normal, a trait she finds to be one of her biggest physical insecurities. Plump lips are always pouting, expressing her disdain towards the world.

Her style varies, and has much changed since her first year. While previously she preferred lighter colours, especially red and gold to represent her house, Rhea's exchanged those colours for darker, more dull shades. Typically she finds herself in oversized shirts, and she's begun to invest in bulky belts as well as bulky shoes. During the winter, which is the majority of the year, she finds herself in dark pants, a thick belt (embellished with silver) holding them up, and a long sleeve shirt, over which she wears either a tank or a t-shirt. As for her shoes, Rhea's black vans have become the most overused accessory she owns.

Makeup is something that Rhea's begun experimenting with, though as of this moment she only applies lip gloss for her chapped lips.

It's difficult to describe the girl Rhea has become. When once she let her parents dictate her every thought, now her mind is filled with doubts implemented by herself and herself only. She's become a lot more prone to snapping, and her already short temper has shortened anymore. It's as if it's her against the world. No one, not even her closest friends, can understand her. Her aunt says it's because she's going through 'puberty,' but Rhea thinks it's just because the world sucks. Though these sad feelings are usually drowned by Rhea's determination to simply be happy. She suppresses everything and instead acts out, usually in ways deemed unladylike and a little bit kooky. She never got to live her childhood years fully, so she decided that her third year would be her doing stupid, risky stuff that only now could she get away with.

Music calls to Rhea now more than ever. She's taken to composing more songs, and has even started to experiment with singing. Though no one has heard her, and no one will. Her fear of rejection stops her from sharing her talent with others; she's afraid that despite the amount she practices, her voice will sound abhorrent. Like every other edgy teen, Rhea's afraid of disappointing, and of being imperfect... though these fears are present at a much higher scale for her than the average teen.

There was nothing abnormal about Rhea's upbringing. Like any other pureblood in the time period, she was raised with extreme, for lack of a better word, supremacist beliefs.  Her father, Aaron, and her mother, Morgan, focused on teaching Rhea how to be a proper pureblood. And she learned quickly, evolving to be the perfect daughter and Bishop. The only thing that set her aside from other purebloods her age was her striking red hair, the way her magic had manifested for the first time and a trait that set her apart from her blonde family. Up until she was 8 years old, Rhea believed that Muggles and Muggle-borns alike were inferior. On her eighth birthday, her parents introduced her to a woman that shaped Rhea's entire personality: Angelica Darnell, a half-blood woman hired to be Rhea's nanny.

Angelica set out on a seemingly impossible mission. Seeing the way Rhea had been brainwashed to think, the nanny tried to reverse Rhea's mindset. Muggles, Muggle-borns, and half-bloods were people. Not inferior to purebloods in the status. Rhea was but a child at this point, which meant that her feeble mind was easily influenced: just as easily as she was convinced purebloods were superior, she was convinced that they were just on the same level as others. Blood status did not matter, not in the grand scheme of things. Of course, once her parents found out, they were furious. Aaron more than Morgan, of course. Being sent to Azkaban the only thing stopping him from taking out his anger on Angelica, Aaron sent her away without paying her a single penny.

But the damage was done. By this point, Rhea was 9, old enough to make her own decisions about who she wanted to believe. It also didn't help when Aaron hired Aida Habib, (who he'd made sure was a pureblood, and a Slytherin). Despite her origins, Aida was a sweetheart, and continued Angelica's teachings. Refusing to see Rhea go down the horrible pureblood supremacist path, Aida made sure to mother and raise Rhea properly where her parents could not.

Eventually, the time came for Rhea to go to Hogwarts. Her parents not there to support her, it was Aida who take her to Diagon Alley to get all her supplies. It was Aida who bid her farewell at the train station, her parents too busy making sure the Bishop reputation was well-kept and untarnished.

And so began the next phase of Rhea's life.

The second Rhea arrived at Hogwarts, she knew that she never wanted to go back. The immensity of the castle, the aura it exuded captured her the second she walked in through the giant double doors. The feeling only intensified as she walked closer to the Sorting Hat, where she just knew she would be sorted into Slytherin - and then, could continue the destiny that she, as a Bishop heiress, was meant to have. However, all her dreams (or actually, her parents’ dreams) were shattered once the Sorting Hat called out ‘Gryffindor.’ Rhea had no idea how to react, but in a fit on fear, she sent back an owl to her parents stating that she was sorted into Slytherin. The fear of being found out by her parents followed her throughout the entire school year, bubbling up inside her whenever she was alone and coming out at the worst times.

For the first few months of school, Rhea managed to balance her school life with her social life. Her first friends were those she met on the train ride to Hogwarts - Dmitri Jones, Griffin White, and James Henderson. The four of them kept in touch and even went on a few adventures together, up until winter break. After winter break, they lost touch, but Rhea had no idea why. Now and then, Rhea missed them but she managed to move on - but, if she ever sees any of them again, she would be more than happy to be friends with them again. She also found friends in her dorm room - the most prominent being Sabrina Hurst, Reine Thomas, and Eris Fawley. Reine and Rhea also lost touch, much to the redhead’s dismay, with the earlier moving out of their dorm. Rhea only felt sad, not angry, for the cut ties - and just like with her other friends, she would welcome Reine back with open arms if the French girl ever came back.

As the school year moved on, Rhea met her more permanent group of her friends. First was Eris Fawley, who Rhea helped learn the truth about her family. The two slowly became close friends after that, able to seek each other out if need be. Rhea also made friends with two Hufflepuff girls, Rosie Parker and Amadea Campbell, who she considered good friends as well. The circumstances under which Amadea and Rhea met were… peculiar, but of course made them become friends. You don’t save someone from an evil plant and expect not to become friends with them, right?

After that came the Blossom Ball. The first ball began well, with Rhea hanging out with her friends and generally having a good time. However, a boy by the name of Charles York decided to set fire to the ball, and thus, Rhea had to do her job as a prefect and escort those hurt from the ball. However, she and Eris decided to set up another ball - the student edition. It was an invite-only ball, and thus they could make sure that no one could set fire to this one. They set up the ballroom accordingly and waited for everyone to show up, before Rhea began to play hostess. She was much too busy with making sure that everyone else was having a good time to worry about herself, especially when Rosie hid beneath a table because someone had hurt her feelings (Rhea had no idea who it was, but when she found out, they would have to face the wrath of a redheaded 11 year old girl).

With the end of the school year coming, Rhea began to feel the jitters of coming back home. Although there was an option of staying for summer camp, her parents refused to let their daughter to do so, and thus, Rhea found herself coming back home. This would be the time she would have to tell them the truth of her sorting, and face their wrath. She had no idea what they would do, but nevertheless, she was terrified. So terrified that she contemplated just running away, but of course, she didn't.

Image
The summer passed by quickly, with Rhea spending the majority stuck inside the house. Her father, furious, had forbidden her from going anywhere to see her friends. He loosened up, however, towards the end of the summer. The Bishops had a reputation to maintain, and the best way to do so was appear at as many dinner parties as possible. Since Rhea was older now, her father deemed it fit for her to show up to these events with him. It was there that she met Alexx Séverin, a girl who later would become a close enough friend; Elijah Huang; Celynne Gray, and many others.

Reducio
To match how fast the summer passed, Rhea's second year passed even quicker. Or at least, the first half did, while the second half took way too long. Until winter break, Rhea preferred to focus on her studies. She met Anastasia Beckett, though, during the first week of school - a pureblood that had faced the same experiences as Rhea, so the girl couldn't help but help her newfound friend. The rest of the year, up until winter break, passed even quicker. She managed to maintain her O average, to attempt to make her parents forgive her for being a Gryffindor. It didn't work.

Winter break was a holiday Rhea dreaded, and for a moment she'd thought about remaining in Hogwarts for the holidays. But she knew her parents would force her to come back, so she simply returned herself to save the troubles. And that was when the horror began.

As usual, Rhea had to attend dinner parties. One of them was hosted by the Bishops, and on Christmas eve, purebloods began to pour into the open doors of the Bishop manor. A perfect opportunity for Jane Rowle, the crazed Rowle matron, to appear. She singlehandedly wrecked Rhea's family and the rest of her year. Turns out, her father was a cheating bastard and had left Morgan for Jane. Horrified and extremely saddened, Morgan was invited to the Fawley manor by her aunt, Demetra Fawley. Not wanting her daughter to be the subject of the millions of rumors that no doubt erupted from the Christmas party, Morgan withdrew Rhea from Hogwarts for the rest of her second year and instead homeschooled her.

Image
What a year! The summer was spent much like the rest of her second year: Rhea had nothing to do but study, read, draw, and practice the many instruments given to her. It was good practice, though, because by the end of the summer Rhea had improved both her drawing and piano abilities. But she had also changed; become more closed off, snappy, the likes. It was an awful summer, made only worse by the fact she couldn't even see her cousin, Eris! The only highlight of her summer had been a pureblood party that Morgan had dragged herself and Rhea to, in an attempt to show bravery in the face of a traumatic event. That, and the week-long trip to Aida's house right before school started, where Rhea felt herself slowly recuperate.

Only a few weeks in, and Rhea had changed even more. The change in atmosphere had spurred Rhea to open up again, but there was a slight difference to her. It was uncertain what the difference was, but there was no doubt Rhea would soon found out. And besides, the year was already starting off great! She had already done an errand with her cousin, and a long-time friend, Max, was back from whatever hiatus he had been on. Maybe she could forget about the horrors of her home life.

The Winchesters are a well-known family in the British pureblood community. They held jobs that the elite normally wouldn’t hold; however, their work garnered respect all around and thus, they were famous for their hard work. They prefer to travel around the world and to learn, rather than stay in one place and only focus on garnering as much money as possible. The Winchesters are not as wealthy as the Bishops, due to them not holding high-status jobs; however they are still wealthy enough to be considered among the elite. They are not very strict on Muggle relation beliefs; there are some Winchesters who have friends that are Muggles (such as Siobhan Cornett). Generations of the Winchesters had attended various wizarding schools around Europe, however, the majority attended Hogwarts and have been sorted into Slytherin.

Stella, at death, age 76.

It was common knowledge that a member of a pureblood family would marry a member of another pureblood family. Yet, that didn’t seem to be the case with Stella and Demarcus, her future husband. Stella came from anything but a typical pureblood family. Her mother, a pureblood by the name of Amara had had Stella with a Muggle and thus, she kept Stella’s true origins a secret. Later on, when Stella was still a little girl, Amara remarried a wealthy pureblood man, and told Stella that he was her birth father. With this man, Amara had another daughter, Demetra. The two girls always thought they were full-fledged sisters, rather than half-sisters, and they didn’t find out the truth until late.

Stella was raised in a quaint house just on the outskirts of Paris, and attended Beauxbatons until her fourth year, when her mother withdrew her and sent her to Hogwarts instead. Amara never stated why she did what she did, just that it was in Stella’s better interests. Stella never argued, simply following her mother’s instructions. She was sorted into Slytherin, and went on to become one of the top of her class. Due to this, she was one of the top choices to be a tutor. Once she established herself as the Hogwarts version of a tutor, she got many students who came up to her wanting help, but her favourite one was a boy by the name of James Winchester. Stella and James met up almost everyday, and soon their tutoring sessions branched out from just that, and they were spending time with each other, just talking. And then, in a classic tutor falls in love with student tale, they fell in love.

She graduated with almost straight Os in all her N.E.W.Ts, and could get whichever job she wanted. Although her parents wanted her to become an Auror, Stella chose to become a Healer, just because it had always been in her nature to help people. She loved her job and soon was able to make a very well known and respected name for herself; she was the Healer that everyone wanted to cure them. During the time she was training to become a Healer, James was training to become a Curse-Breaker. They did not see each other as frequently anymore, but when they did, it was heaven for both. Soon, once they finished with their training and had established themselves securely in their jobs, they got married. They lived happily for a long time, both busy with their jobs and making a name for themselves but still able to find time for each other.

The couple found themselves starting a family soon after their marriage; both were busy with their work, therefore they could not spend as much time as they would have liked with their children. However, soon enough Stella grew older and older and her magic was not as steady as before, so she found herself retiring soon. Fortunately, she was still able to raise her youngest daughter, Morgana, while the rest of her children had already gone off to wizarding schools and were able to take care of themselves.

The news of her husband's death came as a shock to the old woman. He had been on a mission in Egypt when he'd gotten into a sticky situation and was unable to get out in time. Thus, he had perished in the vaults of Egypt. Stella did not believe that James would be careless enough to get killed in a vault in Egypt, and instead speculated that he was killed. She engaged in research but before she could unveil the information she'd learned, she mysteriously died. Her notebooks and parchments, everything she had worked since her husband's death 10 years ago, gone. Never to be found.

When she died, thousands of her patients that she'd treated in her lifetime went to her memorial and funeral. She had saved and affected so many lives, and everyone knew that her and her talent would be severely missed.

& Demarcus James “Jamie” Winchester (grandfather | slytherin | curse breaker | deceased):

Jamie, age 27.

Jamie, at death, age 64.

Ever since he truly realized the true effects his name had (people assumed that he was much more proper than he actually was), Demarcus James Winchester decided to go by his middle name - shortening even that to Jamie when he grew much older. He didn’t particularly like his given first name, thinking it a handful to say. Jamie sounded much better than Demarcus, and fit his personality much better than Demarcus did.

James was not raised with typical pureblood beliefs, although some aspects were certainly imposed on his upbringing. His parents did not particularly detest him associating with half-bloods, muggle-borns, or muggles, as long as he did not do it very often. Ever since he was little, James was interested in going on adventures and cracking puzzles and mysteries. His parents worried that he would get in trouble or hurt himself, but he never did. He attended Hogwarts rather than Durmstrang, simply because he wanted to learn more about subjects that would help him with his adventures. However, during his time at the school, he struggled with a few subjects and had to find himself a tutor of a sort. His prayers were answered when a Slytherin by the name of Stella offered to help him, and with her help, he managed to rise up and get his marks up to Es and Os.

James realized what he wanted to be soon into his career at Hogwarts. The prospect of being a Curse-Breaker excited him to no end, and so he focused on getting high marks in all the subjects that would help him in the future. Stella, of course, helped, and by the time his N.E.W.Ts came, he was fairly confident in his abilities. He graduated with Os in the subjects he needed to be a Curse-Breaker.

After graduating, he found himself far away from what was the love of his life, Stella. He had to train in Egypt while she remained in London, learning to become a Healer. They did not speak as often anymore, only seeing each other in person every few months. However, soon, they were finished. James established his career and was able to marry Stella, something he’d been craving to do for the last 8 years (they had started to see each other in 6th year, but were able to get married when they were 24).  They started a family together not long after, but James never stopped his work. He made time for his new family, of course, and made sure to be kind and compassionate to them; however, he loved--craved--adventure and thus did not spend as much time as he could've with his family.

James died on a mission in Egypt. He was investigating a curse and was able to see its full extent. By the time he realized what he had gotten himself into, it was too late. The curse unleashed itself, and even though James tried to get away, it was a fatal curse. There are some speculations that James was supposed to be in that vault, and he was supposed to be struck with the curse. Stella was amidst those who believed James was murdered. However, before she could conduct any further research into his death, she also died. Whether it was of old age or because someone didn’t want her finding out classified information, no one would ever know. Especially not the younger Winchester generation.

Gaudin Winchester (uncle | ravenclaw | beauxbatons | daily post writer | alive):
Reducio
Reducio
Image

Gaudin, age 39.

Gaudin was the oldest of the Winchesters, and therefore most of the responsibility fell to him. He had to be a model figure to his younger sisters, an example of everything they should hope to become. Up until he began to attend Hogwarts, that seemed to be the case. Gaudin and his sisters got along splendidly; they were an inseparable threesome that could not be seen without the rest following the first. And then he got acceptance to Hogwarts.

Once he began his education, Gaudin’s entire demeanor changed. No longer was he the carefree boy who went on millions of adventures with his sisters - now, he only cared about studying. Getting good marks and impressing his professors was the only thing on his mind. His mood was constantly changing, one second he was eating calmly at the dinner table and the next he was yelling at someone, triggered by something they had said. Any small thing was enough set him off, and soon enough, neither of his relatives wanted to speak to him. He was a nightmare to be around.

While his father was away, his mother, Stella, was tasked with attempting to figure out what was the matter with him. She was unsuccessful. Gaudin wouldn’t even talk to his own mother about what was wrong. Stella questioned herself, wondering what in the world had gotten into him. Yet the answer was simple. He was scared.

While at Hogwarts, Gaudin had heard rumors of offsprings of famed pureblood families who had disowned their children simply because they had not gotten into Slytherin. Gaudin became deathly afraid of that happening; thus, he began to act how a typical Slytherin would - cold, mean, and unempathetic. Everything that was opposite to what his mother had tried to teach him.

At the encouragement of other elitist friends who claimed to be looking out for her, Stella started to contemplate sending Gaudin to live with her own mother in Paris. Not because he had gotten into Ravenclaw, Stella couldn’t care less about that. It was only because of his behavior; Stella thought that Gaudin did not want to be around her, and thus, wanted to give him an opportunity to have some time away. However, when she told him this, the boy took it the wrong way. Hormones played a part in his next action, but Gaudin simply exploded and stormed out of the house, claiming that Stella did not care about him and how she was not his mother. No matter how hard his mother tried, she could not convince him otherwise. At the young age of 15, Gaudin had declared himself the black sheep of the family.

Thus, he spent the remaining of his schooling years in Paris, transferring to Beauxbatons and continuing with his education there. Over time, as he spent more time with his grandmother, his insecurities began to wash away. As he grew older and wiser, Gaudin realized the error of his ways, and realized that his mother only wanted the best for him. It was only in the last semester of his last year at Beaxbatons did he finally allow his mother to see him. The reunion was heartbreaking. After four years of cutting his mother out of his life, Gaudin finally let her back in... only to push her out again. "I need time for myself, to figure out who I am," were his exact words. Stella was not one to argue. She simply nodded, held in her tears, and walked away.

And that was the last time they spoke.

After graduating from Beauxbatons, Gaudin sought a job at the Daily Post. The idea of exposing his knowledge to the world through writing, as well as digging up dirt on others with his own bare hands excited him. It was while he was sniffing out a story that he met his soon-to-be-wife, Naomi Brown. The two had quite an interesting love story. From Gaudin's perspective, it was a relationship that was meant to succeed from the very beginning. They had chemistry, passion, love, and everything in common. He told her of his identity early on, and she didn't run away. She embraced him for she was and although Naomi attempted to get him to speak to his mother, Gaudin never agreed. He was too embarrassed, too ashamed to every look at Stella again.

Two years into their relationship, Gaudin proposed to Naomi. She said yes without hesitation, and they got married 3 months later. A year later, their beautiful baby girl was born. Gaudin and Naomi raised her with love, filling her life with support and acceptance. However, Gaudin kept his wife and daughter a secret from the family that he spoke to - his sisters - for fear of their existence spreading to the greater wizarding world. With every fiber of his being, Gaudin wanted to protect Naomi and Nia from the horrors that being a Winchester entailed.

Gaudin lived his entire life in fear, filled to the brim with insecurities. His grandmother, Amara, thought that he had gotten rid of them when he spoke to his mother... but she was wrong. They would follow him, like shadows, for the rest of his life.

Naomi, age 37.

She was the youngest child out of 10, born in Egypt. Her family was poor, and all worked for the family business - but Naomi sought a different, better life. She witnessed the horrors of the world firsthand, saw the horrible state in which most of the world was in. There was no way she could just sit back and live a life of boredom with her family. Right after graduating high school, Naomi used whatever money she had saved up, sold all of her belongings, and got onto a plane to the States. She knew no one there, had no idea what she was doing, barely spoke the language. But she was persistent. She had determination. No matter who or what tried to stop her, Naomi would become a journalist.

She applied, and was accepted to BU. While she studied her ass off, Naomi also worked numerous jobs simultaneously: a waitress, and a barista. Somehow, she managed to balance everything, and graduated from BU.. just barely, but she graduated. And then began her career. She began as a freelance journalist, writing articles for whatever newspaper would accept her work. While working on a piece, she met Gaudin Winchester. From the beginning, she could sense something was off, different about him. Only when she found out he was a wizard did everything make sense.

Sure, at first she was shocked. But Naomi loved him, and Gaudin loved her - wasn’t that all that mattered? It was. They got married two years into their relationship, and three years later gave birth to their sweetheart daughter Aliyah. Neither Naomi or Gaudin had seen their family in 10+ years, but it was alright… Naomi never got around to it, always busy with work and her schedule never aligning with that of her husband’s. Yet she still spoke with her siblings, and with her parents, on the phone. It wasn’t like she completely cut off communication.

The Bishop family is a wealthy, elite, pureblood family. They have ancestry that can be traced to the Sacred 28, however they themselves are not part of it. They are very strict and uptight with their beliefs - unlike the Winchesters, they are not at all accepting towards Muggles and Muggle-borns. Anyone who has any sort of relation with a Muggle is immediately shunned from the family. The Bishop family lives in England, although some members prefer to travel to other parts of the United Kingdom - however, they all reside in generally the same area. The school that most Bishops have attended was Hogwarts, and they have been sorted into Slytherin; however, some have attended Beauxbatons or Durmstrang.

i didn't know where else to put this so i'm putting this here. just wanted to let all of u know that i will be taking a permanent hiatus from the site; i love everyone that i've gotten to know but i need to focus on real life for now. to all my friends: please enjoy my going away gifts that i'll be handing out in the next day or so. i will be finishing up the one rp that i started lol and then i will be leaving. thanks for a great time <3

hi lovelies! logging on one last time to explain IC why rhea will be leaving. she has had a rough year with the scandal of her dad having an affair with eris's mom. her mom decided it would be best if rhea was pulled out of hogwarts and was homeschooled for the rest of her third year and she will then be sent away to ilvermorny to begin her fourth year far away from all of the scandal and drama. if you would like to mention rhea in your rp feel free, just know that this is what happened to her (ik it can be confusing sometimes to reference inactive users so hopefully this clears that up!)

love u all; keep in touch <3
