Pre-Hogwarts History/ Background:

Born in Glasgow, England to Muggle father Seymore Sage and Pure-Blood Witch mother, Martel Sage nee Scarlet, Raine "little queen" Titania Sage has lived a normal life in a normal Muggle neighborhood. Her mother's side of the family often worried that Raine wouldn't be a witch, and instead be a Muggle like her father, but at the age of three, little Raine displayed her first bought of magic when she made herself float off the ground to reach a balloon that had moved out of her reach at a birthday party. Living the best of both worlds, Raine attended a Muggle Primary School from age five to eleven. On Saturdays she would attend a Wizarding Primary School where she learned the basics and pre-theory about her Hogwarts subjects. Her early Wizarding primary school days were a bit rough for Raine as she was often teased about her Glaswegian accent, but the afternoons she would have with her friend, Arc Perscivious, made up for all of the teasing.

She received her Hogwarts letter on her birthday on April 4th and was more than excited that she would be attending the same school as her mother. Her mother's family just knew for sure that Raine would follow in the Scarlet family and be a Slytherin just as the rest of their family had been Slytherins for centuries. Their expectations worried the young eleven-year-old as she definitely wanted to be in the house her mother was in and she didn't want to be a disappointment to her mother's family. Her worries were assuaged when her parents both declared that no matter what house she managed to make it into, she would still be their "little queen" and their love for her would never wane.  With the reassurances from her parents, the girl quickly re-read most of the books that talked about or discussed Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As a straight A student, Raine was very eager to board the Hogwarts Express to start her new adventure. And though she knew she would miss her parents and infant brother dearly, she knew that she would make them proud of the witch she would one day become.

Hogwarts: First Year:

Raine's first year started off slow and interesting after her sorting ceremony. Shockingly, she was sorted into Gryffindor and she was a bit worried about what her family would think about that. Sure enough, she had received a scathing letter from both her Grandfather Mathias and her Uncle Bertrand on her mother's side. The family of Slytherin. They thankfully weren't howlers, but they were hurtful all the same and she would find herself hiding behind her bed curtains crying herself to sleep at night. That was until she wrote home to her parents and told them that she wanted to come home. Her mother had written back stating that she was to stay in Gryffindor and be proud to be a lion, to which Raine was surprised and happy about at the same time. Reading through the letter further showed that her mother had sent charmed howlers to both her older brother and father telling them what they could do with their Slytherin ways and to leave Raine alone. The little girl could only imagine what charms or jinxes her mother placed on those envelopes.

Raine's time at school flew by quickly, what with the piles of homework and studying she was forced to do. Life couldn't have been better for the young eleven-year-old and she eagerly focused on her studies as best as she could. Of course, it wasn't easy trying to get an O average, and she ended up in an academic rivalry with another student. Learning magic was her favorite part of school and the dueling club was definitely a feature of the school she was most eager to participate in. Everything was going great.

Until the Blossom Festival.

Blossom Festival:
Awkwardly, Raine would make her way down to the dancefloor area of the Festival, dressed in her Spring season finest. She was having an amazing time trying the various cupcakes that were flavored like the Berty Botts Every Flavor Beans and hanging out with her best friend, Arc, though she was glad that she heeded his words about not drinking the punch as it was spiked with Veritaserum. And then there was the battle for the Hufflepuff girl who just seemingly wanted to throw herself into danger. Raine wasn't any better. Running off after her and trying to play the hero. The Blossom Festival ended in fire and kidnapping and Raine was lucky enough to make it out with her own life.

Raine could only imagine what her upcoming second year had in store for her...
