History/Background Story

Senna Lynette Southwind was born 11 years ago in Bath to two quite wealthy Muggles, Richard and Marinette Southwind. Richard is an oral surgeon, and Marinette a stay-at-home mom, avid gardener, and Senna's tutor.

Her skin is like porcelain and her eyes are a piercing sky blue, contrasting her dark chestnut locks that stretch down to her calves when let down. Her mother refuses to trim her hair because it's more "beautiful and ladylike" that way. More bothersome, maybe, she always thought.

Senna prefers to keep her hair tied up, because it's more comfortable and efficient for her studying. She, unlike many children, her parents assured her, was much more "gifted" and "focused" in her studies. She did enjoy learning quite a lot.

Well-fed yet still very thin, Senna had never been too athletic. She preferred to stay inside with a good book and a cup of tea while her neighbors' children played rambunctiously on the riverbanks. She could make friends... but everyone always felt so different from her.

Senna grew up in a wealthy section of the town. She'd been homeschooled as long as she could remember, and usually preferred to spend most of her time exploring her estate. The garden was her favorite aspect of the large house, a place she'd visit very often to sketch and take notes on her observations of the wildlife around her.

The garden was, in fact, where she discovered she was a witch.

One glorious day, Senna made her way with her mother to the greenhouse to take botanical notes. It was March, so Spring had just begun- the flora and fauna had only just started to sprout. Senna's mother left her in the greenhouse to fetch the water hose, and Senna began to observe the plants, humming lightly and scribbling in her notebook.

What her mother did not expect when she came back was for a select few sprouts to have grown nearly 12cm in size. Senna assured her mother she had not touched the plants, but her mother knew right away that her daughter was gifted in ways incomprehensible to most of the Muggles she knew.

And shortly afterwards, Senna received her letter of acceptance to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Senna has only been at Hogwarts for a short time, and has so fat spent the majority of her time in her study and the library, avoiding trouble.
