Before Hogwarts ♦ Reducio He was originally often bullied when he was younger. Especially when any 'incidents' happened. This resulted in Alex first learning to hide from the bullies, often in plain sight. But as he got older he got more cunning, his father taught him that he must not be a target and show that you are strong of will against bullies. This was probably meant as simply standing up to them in the regular sense but Alex took the lesson in another way. From then on once people bullied Alexander they would soon mysteriously get something bad happened to them. Say having a bunch of red paint dropped on them with a bucket and a rope trigger mechanism. This he did by using his cunning to set up traps for bullies and him being careful enough that he would not get caught and for every punch they gave him he would give two metaphorical punches back. (Often in the form of pranks and other forms of humiliation) From then on nobody at his school bullied him again. Because whilst everyone suspected he was the one who caused all the incidents it was never proven it was him. But people knew what happened to them if they did something to him and from then on Alexander learned that to protect yourself you had to be strong. Maybe not necessarily physically but mentally. Education: Alexander attended 1st to 3rd year primary schooling in the Netherlands. Later he attended an English primary school and attended from year 4 to 6. Accidental Magic ♦ Reducio One day in his first year at his new primary school Alexander was being chased by a trio of boys. Who were in the process of their favorite game 'Stroopwafel hunting'. A.k.a. going after Alexander and verbally abusing with perhaps some slight physical abuse thrown in. These three were known as Douglas, Harold, and Tanner. Alexander was one day hiding in the corner of the school. Almost sure that he was about to be found. Feeling the fear and just wanting not to be noticed. Just to not be bullied for one day. Thus in what was actually a terrible hiding place and in plain sight, Alexander was not noticed. With the people avoiding that one corner of the school like the plague for the rest of recess. Though they did not even pay attention to it. Alexander did not realize it but that was his first instance of magic. Which involved the unconscious casting of a small scale muggle-repellent spell. Alexander's parents did not notice his accidental use of magic. They just attributed it to the bully's being bored and just ignored it. However, when Alexander's Hogwarts lesson came they mostly thought of it as a joke, until they saw magic firsthand. Right now they wish to support Alexander but are unsure what to think of magic itself. Secretly and to their own shame they are now a little fearful of Alexander.	♦ Birth Place ♦ Amsterdam, Netherlands ♦ Birth Date ♦ March 1st, 2006 ♦ Personality ♦ Reducio Pre-kitchen: Alexander is a person of quite a few personality traits that oppose each other but that each helps with his goals. Alexander is quite a shy and introverted person who is not good at making friend. But once you have him as a friend he will be a true and loyal one. Furthermore, Alex is quite studious and has an ever ongoing quest for more knowledge. Both for its own sake and more importantly to gain an advantage. In times of stress Alex is also quite analytical and takes time to analyse everything around him and to use it to his advantage. Furthermore Alex desires power though not for its own sake but to protect himself and those he cares for. Post-kitchen: This changed after the events in the Hogwarts kitchen. Alexander is now a broken person. Held together mostly by his friend Aida. He's paranoid, untrusting of people in general. Especially those who are older than him or the teachers. For they never noticed. On top of that Alexander is generally unmotivated. Spending most of his time just in his room in the dorms. Just sitting there and thinking. Occasionally reading a book. Or just laying on his bed staring off into the distance. Questioning his purpose in life and what meaning anything he does has. Present: Alexander has now recovered from what happened in the kitchens, to a degree. The wounds still linger inside of him, but now he has reconstructed himself. Though in a new fashion. The reconstituted Alexander has turned into a more cold person. With the colder parts of his pre-kitchen personality enhanced. Now he is extremely manipulative, willing to do whatever it takes in order to uncover the sins of his past. Even if it means he has to commit new sins in the future.	♦ Pre-Hogwarts Relations Reducio Family & Lineage: Alexander's family consists of one father and one mother. He has no siblings to speak of. His father is Adam Varellion. A muggle chemist who works in the chemical industry. His mother is Kathrina Varellion. A muggle who works as a software specialist for a large pharmaceutical company. His father and mother come from a Dutch and German family respectively. With his father's family being known as the 'van Leidens' (which translates to form Leiden) and his mother's family the 'Möllens' (translates to Millers). Both upper-middle-class families. One might ask, then why is he not known as 'Alexander van Leiden' ? That is because the van Leidens and the Möllers were strong Catholics and protestants. Furthermore, they were both a little racist. Thus both families strongly disapproved of the match between Adam and Katrina and they were both ousted from the family. This culminated when Alexander was 7 and his parents officially cut ties with their families. His parents as a final act of spite changed their family name to Varellion. Mixing the names of Möller and Van Leiden. They then moved to England where his father was recently offered another job opportunity. ♦ Pre-Hogwarts Friends Reducio He had an acquaintance by the name of Milly who both tolerated each other. But they were not real friends.
