Walnut Wood: Highly intelligent witches and wizards ought to be offered a walnut wand for trial first, because in nine cases out of ten, the two will find in each other their ideal mate. Walnut wands are often found in the hands of magical innovators and inventors; this is a handsome wood possessed of unusual versatility and adaptability.

A note of caution, however: while some woods are difficult to dominate, and may resist the performance of spells that are foreign to their natures, the walnut wand will, once subjugated, perform any task its owner desires, provided that the user is of sufficient brilliance. Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may ‘die’ and need replacing.

Viviana Ambrosi was born to Diana and Bastian Ambrosi on October the 31st, Halloween night, in the year 2007.

Both of her parents came from pure-blooded families but the most notable fact was that her father was a descendant and lord of an Italian noble house that moved to Britain in the Victorian Era. She was raised by both her mother and father up until she was six and her mother passed away.

Degrading health from a curse she obtained while working with old relics in the Ministry of Magic, Viviana's mother left her father alone to care for their single child after she had passed. Her daughter, mature even at that age, remembered clearly how fast the curse took hold and robbed her of a loving parent.

Her father was rightfully devastated but remained a strong and comforting presence to his only child, continuing to raise her the way he had when her mother was by his side. Viviana was never exposed to racial thinking in her household, the Ambrosi family never a believer in blood purity. It was an inspiration to Viviana throughout her life, that all her parent's actions were done in love for her and each other.

She discovered her magic when she was eight, ruling out the possibility she could be a Squib. There had been small incidents before, but nothing conclusive until she accidentally shattered a bowl of cake batter she was working on to surprise her father on his birthday when she set all the candles in the kitchen ablaze after she was startled.

Upon arrival at the esteemed school of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Viviana's mother is proved right and the young student is sorted into Ravenclaw.
