Early Childhood

Lailaflora Ruby was born in London, England to Ijeoma Ruby and Kayode Ruby. She is part of a pure-blood family, but was taught that all blood-types should be treated well. Laila lived in a small house in a muggle neighbourhood. Laila knew she would probably never see her muggle classmates again once she went to Hogwarts and for that reason, she tried not to get attached to any of them.

 Laila didn't show any signs of magic at home and her parents started to get worried but Laila didn't really care. Laila loved listening to music, and she'd alway spend hours in her room listening to her favorite songs while reading her favorite books. She loves all music genres but her favorites are indie, and grunge. 

Her parents told her stories about Hogwarts including the four houses. Laila found out her mother was a Slytherin also were most of her Grandparents. She took a liking to Slytherin and had wanted to be one for a long time.

Muggle School

When Laila started going to school, her parents were extremely worried  she'd show her signs of magic there. When Laila got to school, she was really quiet and would often be found daydreaming or reading. 

She definitely wasn't the best in her classes, but she got good grades. She loved classes like P.E and music, and those were the classes that she got the best grades. 

 Laila normally wasn't talkative around kids she didn't know but if someone caught her interest, she'd always be able to strike up an interesting conversation with them 

Muggle Friendship
Laila has always loved sports and she'd always be found watching them on TV. Out of all the sports she loved, football (soccer) was her absolute favorite. She's an avid Liverpool supporter, and she owned many of their  jerseys. She went from football camp to football camp, and was an amazing player. She made a lot of friends while playing and got along very well with her teammates. All of them actually ended up becoming really good friends. They'd go on multiple team dinners, and they'd hang out a lot




First signs of magic

As much as Laila loved football and her teammates, people weren't all that nice. There was this girl from another team, Savannah, that was kind of a jerk to Laila. She'd always have something nasty to say about how she played, how her hair looked, or how she dressed and anytime Laila tried to tell her to back off, she was always accused of being too sensitive.

One time during a game, Laila's team was playing against Savannah's team. Things were going great and Laila's team was winning but Savannah wasn't having it. When Savannah got the ball, Laila tried to get the ball away from her but just a little touch on her foot had Savannah rolling on the floor yelling "Foul! Foul!" Even though Laila barely touched her. Of course the ref called a foul. It was a PK and Savannah took it.


Savannah walked to the penalty line where the ball was and just before she shot the ball, she flashed Laila a devious smirk. Laila was pissed. She clenched her fists and hoped that the ball wouldn't go in. When Savannah shot the ball it didn't move. It was like it was stuck. Then Savannah shot again harder. It didn't budge. She tried one more time, and the ball did move. It moved toward the goal but just before it crossed the line, it changed direction. It went way off range. Everyone on Savannah's team groaned and moaned in dissapoinment. Laila's team whooped and cheered. Savannah look confused and so did the ref but Laila wasn't confused. She knew what happened, she showed her first sign of magic. 

Eleven Years Old

When Laila turned eleven, she got her Hogwarts letter. Her parents were extremely exited but Laila had been expecting it. She was upset that she'd have to leave all of the friends she made, but she'd been waiting to go to Hogwarts her whole life. She told her teammates that she had to leave the team by the time the fall season started, and most of them were sad too but some of them (cough cough Savannah) were relieved.  It was sad, but they enjoyed their last couple of months together

Hogwarts

       First year

 When Laila got to Hogwarts, she got sorted into Hufflepuff. Laila expected Slytherin and was really surprised when she got sorted into Hufflepuff and she was starting to get used to it. She was not a big fan of yellow. The Hufflepuff Girls Dormitories is so cosy, it made her like yellow a little bit more. She met a girl named Elena Burkley and the two talked and became friends.

Laila met another girl from hufflepuff named Stella Rose. Even though she was kind of aloof, she seemed like a really funny person and Laila thought that she was really cool. Stella fell and hit her head on a Bludger but Laila still thought Stella was cool.

Laila's a kind, friendly and easygoing young girl and you'll almost always see her with a smile on her face. She may come off as annoying when you first meet her but she's actually pretty chill. She gets bored really easily and can't keep a hobby but if she's really interested in something she'll put all her time and energy into it. If she finds something uninteresting though, she won't care about it at all and will put little to no effort into it. She's pretty talkative but if she meets someone with the same interests as her, she'll be able to talk to the person for hours.

Laila has always thought of herself as somewhat pretty. In her first year, she has healthy straight hair which was a light blonde in her first year but as she got older it became a darker shade. She has dark blue eyes and a dimple on her right cheek. She loves vintage clothing weather its band tees or vintage dresses. She always has at least one accessory on at all times. She has light skin and almond shaped eyes. She's 5'2 and is the average weight for her age.
