Amber Sophia Eleanor Wood wasn’t just given these names randomly - there is a story to tell.

Most people only know her as “Amber”. The girl was named after the yellowish fossilised tree resin because the stone of her mother’s engagement ring - which used to be her father’s mother’s - was Amber.

But one of Amber’s middle names has a connection with her other grandmother, as well - they share their second middle name “Eleanor”.

Last but not least, her parents had always had the feeling that Amber was going to be smart so they called her “Sophia” - meaning “wisdom” and “skill”.

When Amber got her letter from Hogwarts, her parents were sceptical. They thought it was some kind of a joke or an advertisement from a new toy shop. So, they immediately ripped the letter apart and Amber cried for days (she still has not quite forgiven them) until finally, three days later, a new owl arrived with a new letter. Fortunately, her grandmother was looking after Amber and Lucas that day. Their grandma was the first one to believe that Hogwarts and the wizarding world were real. The woman offered to go to Diagon Alley and King’s Cross Station with her grandchild due to the time lack of her parents.

Amber is very eager to learn all about the wizarding world, which is why she spent most of her holidays reading through all of her school books.

She also decided that she wants to try out for the Quidditch house team as a Chaser, since she used to play Basketball and Handball and thinks that this position would suit her best.

For this we need to jump back to the year 2010, when three year-old Amber had one of those days when she absolutely couldn’t stand her healthy food. While her grandmother desperately tried to make the child eat her vegetables, Amber cried and screamed her lungs out. As it happened, the girl also made quite a mess and spilled her meal all over the table. In order to clean it up, the woman left the room and went to get some towels. When she returned, she noticed that the girl had stopped crying and somehow the vegetables had disappeared. Instead, sweet bonbons, lollipops and jellies lay on the plate in front of Amber.

Amber’s grandmother would describe her as a lovely young lady. Her Muggle parents have taught her an excellent behaviour, including politeness, showing respect and possessing outstanding table manners.

She always puts on a friendly face and is able to easily twist someone around her little finger, using only her charming smile whenever she needs too.

Despite her young age, she seems to act very mature and grownup already, which one can see when realising how smartly and thoughtfully she handles herself. Like an architect, she looks at situations very objectively and plans her every move, weighing each sides in her head beforehand.

The young girl is incredibly perfectionistic which has its perks and its faults. One of the positive aspects is that she completes tasks very carefully and with a lot of detail, since she has a weakness for detailed things. Apart from this, Amber is very studious, hardworking and a quick learner. Nevertheless, she often tries to be too perfect sometimes when it isn’t necessarily needed or wanted.

According to her INTJ personality type, she is introverted and likes to spend some time alone rather than going out with friends. However, as soon as she finds herself in a very extroverted position, she realises that this can be fun, too.

On the outside, Amber does not often show her feelings to the outer world, but she does this more because of not wanting to bother other people with her issues rather than being cold-hearted. To be honest, she is very sentimental indeed and takes every tiny little word or sign to heart, which results in her overthinking everything.

However, as soon as she has found herself someone whom she can trust, Amber will likely spill most of her secrets which she usually keeps to none other than herself.

Around strangers she can sometimes be very shy - nevertheless, she has a rather confident and positive personality. The girl likes listening to other people’s issues and tries helping them as best as she can. One can see her laughing or smiling almost constantly when she is around her friends.

But - as soon as someone shows an unfriendly behaviour towards her - her attitude and behaviour will change in an instant. Amber can be very cold and dismissive towards these people.

Since she is more of the creative type of person, Amber loves to draw, read and write stories herself. One can often find her in the library, in a deserted hallway on a windowsill or outside in the cooling shade of a tree with some sort of book or notebook in her hands.

Amber possesses a magnificent photographic memory and a brilliant memory in general because she remembers A LOT. She has a talent for logical thinking, as well.

In addition, the girl is very truthful, loyal and fair. It is somewhat of a pity that she hates lying to people, because she is a naturally gifted liar.

She is a hopeless romantic (which might have been induced by reading too many romantic novels) and believes in soulmates, as well as in fate (there are no coincidences) and in karma.

One of her flaws is that she detests when people do not respect her opinion or when they just do not allow her to speak or defend herself in an argument.

Moreover, she cannot forgive very easily. However, if one shows her that he/she is deeply sorry for his/her actions, she will eventually forgive this person after a few days or weeks.

She gets along with her siblings very well, but since there is a huge age gap between Ellie and her, she does not have that much contact to her. Amber’s grandmother plays a vital part in her life as well, since her parents are often too busy with work to look after her and her siblings which is why her “grandmama” often comes by their house. The girl loves her grandmother a lot, especially her stories which she made up only for them to have a good nights sleep. Moreover, her grandmother was her inspiration to wanting to write stories herself.

Surprisingly, Amber even loves her grandmother more than her own parents. Why? Well, her parents treated her with kindness and she had a fairly good childhood, but still, they were not always there for her when she needed them.

Amber is claustrophobic and afraid of everything that is bigger, higher or taller than 10 or 20 meters (especially gigantic waves) since she finds very huge things frightening. So, combining that, you would get a very tiny boat, floating on the endless sea while huge waves seem to be playing a game on who will be the first to get the ship to sink. But, since this probably won’t be possible, the Boggart would just turn into something very, very big (like I mentioned before, a gigantic wave for instance).
