History

Her father is a muggle professor of psychology at Cambridge. A research project took him to the Limerick area, in Ireland, where he chanced a meeting with a mysterious fortune teller. While not explicitly a part of his relevant project, he had always been interested in the psychology of fortune telling, and ended up spending a great deal of time with the lady. They remained in contact after he had returned to Cambridge, and eventually fell in love. He convinced her to come to Cambridge with him.

Aislyn was born and had a completely normal first four years of her life, upon her fifth birthday her mother decided it was time to start teaching her divination techniques. Unsurprisingly, teaching a five year old anything is rather difficult, but Aislyn did start to pick up on stories from her mother's clientele.

Around the age of six, Aislyn began to show great interest in flowers, and growing flowers. Having experienced a great many people, she had proclaimed that flowers were like people but better. Her family did encourage her, reasoning aside. Seeing an excuse for more bonding, her mother also began having her help with cooking, a skill that Aislyn quickly declared her love for.

At seven and a half years of age, her father noticed that he wasn't getting as much of her time as her mother. He started doing morning walks with his daughter, where they could talk for a bit. Eventually, these walks evolved into jogging, and even running. It might come across as strange to have a child running, but Aislyn had discovered that discipline of it, the rules that needed to be followed, made her feel comfortable. That, even if only for a moment, she could disregard the chaos of the world.

As a result, she started taking a dislike towards books and paperwork and anything she found boring. Feeling a stir to move whenever she felt uncomfortable, she developed a leg bouncing tic. Around this time she grew discomfort with the certain degree of unreliability with divination. She had achieved acceptable levels of usage as far as crystal balls, tea leaves, and celestial alignments, and had beginners knowledge of dragon bones by this point, and she didn't particularly want to let down her mother, but she felt that there was a level of deceit always present with clairvoyance.

She received her letter to Hogwarts, as her mother expected. Going through the lists of books, classes, and supplies, she felt an immediate attachment towards Herbology and Potions, based upon her muggle world counterparts of gardening and cooking. She was especially interested in potions, with it's strict rules and focus needed. The concept was one of familiarity and comfort.
