History: Kent Barnabas Gresham was born on the 13th of September into a Muggle family, who live in a small home in London, England. Being low-class, the Gresham family have had to work endlessly to provide what little they could to their four children, with their father Barnabas working two part-time jobs. The family manage to make ends meet, but only barely, and the kids tend to share clothing and school supplies, handed down every year.

Both Barney and Geraldine Gresham consider themselves rich in love, even if they are usually in a state of financial trouble. This has given their eldest son, Kent, a sense of responsibility to do as well as he can in an attempt to earn a high paying job to support his family. Being of particularly physical stature, the most obvious choice was to focus on sports, especially given the boy's average grades in school. Yet, despite his achievements in sport, Kent has managed to maintain quite humble and grounded, despite the trophies and ribbons.

From childhood, Kent was taught to be proud of his heritage, of his name, and how his family had always been fighters for a dozen generations. He was brought up proud, strong-willed, and showing deep loyalty for the Gresham name; and this resulted in his making equally strong friendships with his Muggle counterparts, spending most of his time with other children while attending public schooling, where he tended to ignore most of his studies and focus on the team sport. Another aspect of that pride resulted in a lot of confrontation with bullies or kids who liked to shoot their mouths off, and Kent became good at using his fists, too.

Kent's first experience with magic was unfortunate, and clearly an accident. It involved sadly knocking one of his friends down the stairs, seemingly with his mind, which the boy explained had been unintentional and confusing. In fact, the burst of magic had been unexpected, and had resulted because the friend had stolen something in Kent's room, which Kent had found out. The friend was fine, and would actually have his memory wiped of the experience later.

Still, Kent remains a dedicated friend to those who earn his trust, pursues his interests diligently and isn't afraid to stand up for others, but otherwise he doesn't show much interest in whatever doesn't interest him. His grades before Hogwarts were average, as Kent lacked any real want or need to excel in studies he cared little about - except playing British gridiron, with the aim of becoming a highly paid athlete!

On his 11th birthday, the owl with his invitation to attend Hogwarts arrived, unfortunately it was too late to attend the current year of school. This greatly infuriated Kent, because he was forced to wait for the following year to attend. Yet, always the optimist, Kent realized as a result he would be bigger and stronger than his fellow years, which might allow him an advantage when it came to a mysterious sport called Quidditch.

So with a doting goodbye from his parents, where his mother cried endlessly, Kent boarded the Hogwarts Express, and began his schooling year as a member of the Hogwarts class of 2026, mere weeks from turning 12...
