Bella is 4”9 and 6 stone, average height and weight for her age. She has long, wavy, bright blonde hair that comes down past her shoulder blades normally and almost reaches her lower back when straightened. Her eyes are a blue-green colour and have been known to change more significantly from one to the other, often reflecting her mood that day. She has got a small scar over her right eyebrow; the result of her bother Orion finding Felix's wand when she was 6. Bella has got a small amount of light freckles dotted around her nose and under her eyes that you can only really see on the brightest summers day. She was pretty by anyone's standards and her sister Iyla always told her the boys would come chasing one day.



Due to her deep hatred for her parents and their views, Bella gets very defensive when people compare her to them. They were deluded, narrow-minded, evil people who deserve the time they have to spend in Azkaban and she wants nothing to do with them.
Although she puts up a front of unbothered and uncaring, under those necessary walls, Bella is fiercely and undyingly caring and loyal to those who deserve it. She will do anything to protect her friends and family. However she can also be rather harsh and selfish when it comes to it, traits she undoubtedly inherited from her mother.
Despite the unwavering loyalty she can possess, anyone that betrays or hurts her should keep a constant eye over their shoulder. Bella might be a Gryffindor on the outside, but generations of Slytherin ancestors have made her cunning and resourceful. She would much rather fight it out than talk it our, she knows how to defend herself and isn't afraid to either, never shying away from confrontation.



Born to a very long line of Slytherins going back for many generations on both sides. Besides from Bella and her siblings, the last people to be sorted into houses that wasn't Slytherin were brother and sister Carmilla and Nathaniel Chastain who were sorted into Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff consecutively in 1966, the next to be her older brother Felix (Ravenclaw). The last time anyone in her family was sorted into Gryffindor was a man named Bartholomew Chastain in 1237, to be superseded by Bella herself as well as her older brother and sister Luna and Orion.

Bella rarely saw much of her parents, particularly her father, as they were often 'working' or having 'meetings' with other witches and wizards with similar views to themselves. However even the brief time she had spent with them as a young child would be enough to traumatise her. They would speak openly about the murder of muggle families and blood traitors alike and would often encourage their children to use words such as 'mud-blood'.



Millicent Chastain (previously Millicent Ryling) - Mother, Serving life in Azkaban, Slytherin
Millicent, the only child of two exceedingly spiteful, muggle hating parents, carries the traits and views of her predecessors. She believes that pure magical blood is superior to muggles and those with "muddy" blood. She also believes that any witch or wizard that associates themselves with these people are to be considered equally inferior and seen as traitors. She met her husband Quinton at hogwarts and the two were a perfect match. Both parents attempted to pass on their misguided views to their children, but neither were around enough to really do so. Six years ago, when Bella was six, both Millicent and Quinton, along with eight others, were sentenced to life in Azkaban with the possibility of the dementors kiss. They were found responsible for the torture and murder of at least 10 muggle, muggle born and associating families.

Quinton Chastain - Father, serving life in Azkaban, Slytherin
Quinton is the youngest of 5 sons, being born into a long succession of dark witches and wizards going back centuries. Sharing much the same views as Millicent, the pair were perfect for each other. He was particularly strict with his children, when he was around, and thrived off of fear, believing that if his children were scared of him that they would not go against him. Six years ago, when Bella was six, both Millicent and Quinton, along with eight others, were sentenced to life in Azkaban with the possibility of the dementors kiss. Knox Quinton Chastain - Brother, 28, works as an auror for the ministry, Slytherin
It appeared at first that Knox was going to turn out very similar to his parents until his first year of Hogwarts. He met a girl in his year named Lara who was also a Slytherin, however she was muggle born. Knox and Lara got off on the wrong foot, with Knox carrying his parent's views and insulting the young witch, who in-turn stunned Knox sending him across the hall. The altercation was witnessed by a professor who ordered both students to detention. While the teacher had left the classroom during the detention the two began talking. Knox discovered that being muggle-born does not make you any less the witch or wizard. The two became fast friends, eventually more. Knox is extremely protective of his siblings and would always try and counter the affect that their parents would be having on them. After finishing his final year at Hogwarts, Knox decided he would tell his parents about his relationship with Lara to which they were predictably horrified. They kicked Knox out, although he wasn't too bothered by that, and he and Lara moved in together, Knox becoming an auror and Lara working for the department of magical law enforcement. When Their parents were sent to Azkaban, all of the siblings came to live with Knox and Lara. They have 3 children together

Felix Grey Chastain - Brother, 24, Works for the department of Magical creatures, Ravenclaw
Felix is extremely intelligent. He was less effected by what his parents would preach than Knox was and seemed to know from a very young age that what they thought was wrong. He was the first person to be sorted into a house that wasn't Slytherin in his family for a few decades and his parents always seemed to despise his natural intelligence. Along with his brain Felix was extraordinarily courageous. He would often attempt to stand up to his parents or question why they believed what they did, despite it often ending in punishments. He was also protective of his siblings, particularly Iyla, who was very nervous for her first year of Hogwarts. Felix came out as gay to his siblings aged 15 but never outwardly told his parents to their face. He had sent them an owl a few days after their arrest (the only one of the children to do so) in which he briefly stated it at the end. He had lived with Knox and Lara briefly until he was sent away for his first job in the department of magical creatures aged 19. He currently travels all around the world, owling souvenirs to the others in each knew place he goes. When not on a mission he lives with his fiance Rayan, a few streets away from his siblings.

Iyla Millicent Chastain - Sister, 20, works in the department of magical law enforcement, Slytherin. Iyla's two older brothers had been able to influence her against her parents. When she had been sorted into Slytherin she had been extremely worried. She was incredibly afraid of her parents but even more afraid of turning out like them. However talking with Felix, who was very good at giving advice, and sending owls back and forth with Knox showed her that being in Slytherin didn't automatically make you a bad person. She too was quite intelligent but was particularly skilled in charms. After finishing school Iyla then started work in the department of magical law enforcement where she still works along side Knox's wife Lara. She lives in a flat in London.

Ozymandias Fenrir Chastain, goes by Ozzy- Brother, 18, 7th year, quidditch player, Slytherin
Ozzy too was sorted into Slytherin, although he didn't take it as bad as Iyla, simply happy he hadn't got hufflepuff. Ozzy was not particularly intelligent but he was very loyal and was always top of the practical classes; particularly flying. He had made the Slytherin quidditch team one week into his second year and by his fifth year he had been accepted into a junior professional quidditch team. His intentions when finishing school was to be the best seeker that the wizarding world had ever seen. Despite being quite popular and having a promising quidditch career ahead of him, Ozzy is still held back by the memory of his parents. They had always been particularly disappointed in him, despite being placed in Slytherin as he had never showed them any "potential" and that his ambitions were "unrealistic". This kind of treatment had left Ozzy with a deep anger that often showed itself at untimely moments. He had been involved in a number of fights in his life, even at Hogwarts. He wasn't easy to intimidate due to his height. He was also physically quite strong, having made a name for himself in his first year that left him with a reputation around the school; those who crossed him should be worried. Lives with Knox still.

Luna Helena Chastain - Sister, 15, 4th year, wants to be a writer, Gryffindor
Having not started the school when her parents had gone to Azkaban meant that those last two years allowed her to be shaped and raised by her older siblings, along with her twin brother Orion. Both of them being sorted into Gryffindor had been a huge shock even to them. Nobody had been put in Gryffindor in their family since a man named Bartholomew Chastain in the 1200s. Despite the shock Luna was extremely excited for her time at Hogwarts and is still enjoying it now. She has always been very creative and excels in transfiguration and charms. She hopes to one day become a writer. She is very close with Orion and is extremely protective of Bella. She even turned a boy into a tea cosy on Bella's first day for barging past her in the corridor.

Orion Sebastian Chastain - Brother, 15, 4th year, wants to work with magical creatures, Gryffindor. Orion is the most energetic and loving of all of the Chastain children. He is also very close with Luna and Bella. Being the closest to Bella's age she always looked up to him the most and followed with what he did and how he acted. His parents had little influence over his personality as his optimism and all round happiness meant that he didn't have time to hate muggles. Being sorted into Gryffindor was a big deal for Orion and he was aiming to become a prefect one day. His favourite lesson is Care of Magical Creatures and he hopes to one day work with his brother Felix in the department of magical creatures.

Caspar Tyson Chastain - Brother, 8, not at Hogwarts yet
The youngest member of the Chastain clan. He is a very happy and excitable young boy who doesn't have much memory of his parents, being only 2 when they were sent away. His aspirations switch and change all the time, typical of a young child, but right now he wants to be a "dragon tamer".

Lara Chastain - Tress - Sister-In-Law, 28, department of magical law enforcement, Slytherin.
Met Knox at school, started dating him age 15. The two got married when they were 20 and have 3 children.

Rayan Lister - Brother-In-Law, 25, journalist, Hufflepuff
Met Felix while reporting on a story featuring a hippogriff that had been rescued in Scandinavia 5 years ago. They had both attended Hogwarts however Rayan was in the year above and was in Hufflepuff meaning they had had very little interaction in school. Currently engaged to be married with him.
