History/Background Story: Arthur is the son of a German pureblood and a British nurse. Raised in England, his parents lost touch before he was born, so he wasn’t aware of his father or his magical heritage until after he received his acceptance to Hogwarts. Turning eleven in early October, the bewildering letter arrived just as he was preparing to take the eleven plus exam and start looking at secondary schools. He’d spent his first ten years like any normal muggle-born kid; going to school, playing football, and trying not to get stabbed in one of the rougher areas of London. His mother worked long hours at the hospital, and he spent a lot of time alone, but the two of them were close.
Only after learning about the magical world did his mother look back and start to question some of the eccentricities she remembered about his father. After Artie was born, she’d tried to get in touch with him, but to no avail. His number had been disconnected, she assumed a temporary SIM he’d picked up just for the journey. It was clear now why he wasn’t in any ordinary phone book. And finally, through the Ministry, she managed to get ahold of him.
Meeting the magical side of his family was a mixed bag. The only child of a single parent, Artie was delighted to find out that he had five older half siblings all living in Germany. Somewhat less so, however, to find out that his father was still married at the time when he was born. He’d since separated from his first wife, and lived in a small estate just outside of Munich.
Arthur has always been an independent and hard working child. He does well in school, but like most boys his age all he really wants to do is play football and mess around with friends. He was picked on in school for not having a dad, and being kind of a swotty kid, but the few friends that really mattered, and that was all he cared about. He likes picking up new skills and knowledge, and there's not a lot that doesn't interest him. Because his mother always had to work late, he often got dumped in any random club that happened to meet after school, so his interests are wide-ranging. His hobbies include chess, piano, languages, reading, and swing dance.
