Origin and Background

Lillian Anne Winchester was born on the 16th of April, 2006. She came without trouble to her mother, being a simple birth in the entire scope of the process. She was born with a pigment deficiency, marring her hair a platinum white, but in the right light, one could describe it as snowy. In addition, another unique feature was the buildup of lipochromes in her eyes, giving them an amber hue, which would be later compared to the eyes of a predator. Her mother doted on her diamond in the rough, adoring the newborn girl. The first year of life was fairly uneventful, with Luna developing as normal and life proceeding on an ordinary path. Shortly after the young girl's first birthday, her father Armand became obsessed with Muggle technology. This obsession led to him slowly disconnecting from his family and would lead to it's undoing. Luna's mother, Alice, entertained her husband's hobbies, willing to let it go to maintain her family. The gap would widen as Armand became less focused on his wife and daughter, spending more and more time in his "lab" attempting to merge the incompatible muggle tech with magic itself. Shortly after reaching Luna's third birthday, he would suddenly disappear altogether.

Age 3 to Age 5

At first, Alice thought Armand would return. She would sit up at night waiting for him, hoping he would walk through the front door and alleviate all of her depression and anxiety. The fledging Luna would slowly receive less and less attention, learning how to cope on her own. Learning how to make simple foods as her mother stared out the window became a nightly tradition. Around the age of four, Luna started trying to care for her mother, attempting to feed her, get her to go outside, and change clothes. At first, her mother cooperated with her daughter, but as Armand continued to not appear she turned her bitterness on said daughter. Luna would bear yelling fits from her mother, and eventually worse. Despite all this, she never stopped loving her mother and developed hard feelings for her father. She is convinced to this day that things would've been better had he never left. Just before Luna turned 5, Alice abandoned her, leaving their house and returning to her family manor. Luna wasn't even aware of her abandonment at first, as Alice had simply told her to wait at home. Luna would never see or hear from her mother again. It wouldn't take long, as the young girl had no means, for her to end up on the streets of Cardiff.

Age 5 to Age 10

The first year was exceedingly difficult. The young white-haired, amber-eyed girl was memorable to many, yet went mostly unnoticed. She tried begging, and at first, that worked. However the world is cruel, and she learned quickly that she couldn't rely on altruism. She would ally with many different souls on the streets but never for long. She intentionally kept her distance, never allowing a connection to slow her down, or risk her survival. Learning how to read individuals and how to steal became requisite skills. She would live through apathy, pain, and disdain. She would eventually get around Wales, using her own legs to traverse the Country. Eventually, she would find herself back in Cardiff, having spent ages 7-9 outside the city. On one particularly bad week, Luna found herself struggling to feed herself. Begging had bore little fruit and so she had to resort to larceny. She walked into a farmer's market scanning carefully for easy marks. She never stole money, just food itself or any clothing she needed to replace. Spying an unguarded box of tomatoes, she made her way over to it, remaining as inconspicuous as possible. As soon as she believed she was clear, she swiped a couple of the fleshy red fruits, quickly moving away from the exposed box. However, she was sighted just before she made her escape, not by a shopkeep, but by a thug with less than savory intent. When the large man, who seemed a bit off his rocker, attempted to take her prize from her, she tried to fight back. However, a little nine-year-old girl versus a full grown adult male was far from a fair match-up. Just when Luna thought all was lost, a smokescreen appeared out of nowhere, giving her opportunity to escape. At the moment she had assumed it was sheer luck, but it wasn't. It was magic. Her magic had manifested, regardless of the fact that she wasn't even aware she possessed it. Of course, she was noticed by a Wizard in the market who would go on to alert the Ministry of Magic. Soon after she would be inducted into an entirely different world.

Age 10 to Entrance into Hogwarts

Once under the guardianship of the MoM, she was made aware of her origin. Who her parents really were, how her mom truly didn't want her and that the family she descending from held enough influence to avoid the consequences of abandoning one's daughter. Her father, a fugitive of the Wizarding Community. This only fueled her loathing of the man. Yet she still desired the affection of her mother who she had tried so hard to care for. She was fostered by a Ministry Witch, whose name is Alicia Wagner. Luna was enrolled in acclimation classes, as well as classes for manners and poise. She was forced to change her speech pattern and learned how to speak properly despite her origins. As such, many end up believing her to be from the upper class. Her voice is airy, light, and elegant. Additionally, her aptitude for learning became very apparent, and her new mother decided Luna would be best served at Hogwarts.

And so Luna's story starts here, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in September of 2017.

Alicia Wagner

is a remarkable witch with the notable ability to be diplomatic and compassionate or cruel and ruthless when a situation dictates. She has all the skills to be an Auror but instead wanted to catch the ones who slip through the cracks. She is a dedicated detective who learns how her targets think in order to stay ahead of them. Her ability to capture criminals is statistically high, and she is currently in pursuit of a self-styled innovator attempting to merge magic with muggle tech. Not knowing the repercussions of this she is fully committed to stopping Armand Winchester. On one of her leads, she managed to find his only daughter, Luna, where she took in the 10-year-old child. She hopes Armand may come back for the girl and she can trap him. For now, she has sent Luna to Hogwarts where she monitors for any sign of contact.

Alice Selwyn-Winchester

Former Ministry Auror, Hogwarts Graduate, Slytherin House

Blond Hair, Green Eyes, Hair-Trigger Temper

Bio: Alice was the 'perfect' daughter of a Pure Blood family, the Selwyns. Her full maiden name is Alice Gwendolyn Selwyn. She had grown up on the beliefs that Pure Bloods were elite and for most of her life believed as such. However, in her fifth year at Hogwarts, she met Armand. A lowly muggle-born, she had nothing but contempt for him. But after he saved her life she fell for him. This caused a rift with her father, in particular, leading to her being struck from the family tree. She was wholly removed from the Selwyn family. Regardless of this, Alice went on to become an Auror, hunting down the kind of magic users that caused events like the Battle of Hogwarts. She had Lillian(Luna) at the age of 24. She would quit her job shortly before this to support Armand. He chose to abandon her and Lillian anyway, creating a deep bitterness in Alice. She saw blamed Lillian for everything, and beyond that as proof of why muggle-borns are worthless. She has since spent her time attempting to return to the Selwyn family. She is currently 35.

Armand Winchester

Inventor, Hogwarts dropout, Ravenclaw House

Black Hair, Golden Amber Eyes, Eccentric

Bio: Her father is mostly a mystery. It is known he briefly attended Hogwarts but never finished his education there. It is known he is fleeing the Ministry. It is known he abandoned his wife and daughter. What isn't known are the why's. Luna holds a particular animosity for her father. While she dislikes her mother, she sees her father as the catalyst for everything falling apart.
