A boy from Derby who Dymphna enjoys spending time with. During the colder months, they can be seen studying by the fireplace in the Small Hall. Otherwise, they may be seen around the Grounds.

FIRST YEAR: Dymph first met Reid during their first year at Hogwarts. After their History of Magic class, she loaned him her notes. They hit it off immediately and planned to hold a study group that weekend.

Sometime before the study group, she swam in the Great Lake with Reid and made a friend out of Bloom who they invited to join them in their studies. At first, it went fine but then one session ended awkwardly as Bloom had confessed her feelings for Reid days prior. Despite a bit of drama within their friend group, Reid and Dymph still wanted to do well in their classes and met up at least once a week by the fireplace in the Small Hall.

Though she does know about his ending up in the hospital wing throughout the year, Dymph doesn't know exact details from the Whomping Willow incident nor the Hufflepuff Campout. Whatever happened, she doesn't want to push him to talk about it. She just wants to try and help him regain some normalcy in his life.

SUMMER: Before their second year began, Dymph invited him over to her house for the weekend- where her Dad would see their friendship, Reid's potential and give him a Teague family heirloom, an old pocket watch.

SECOND YEAR: During second year, a mutual friend of theirs (Delilah) confessed to Dymph that she had a crush on Reid, causing Dymph to pen a letter to him for Del. During this time, Reid was going through a rough time but refused to talk about it with his friends. She didn't push the subject and they still met up to study together throughout the year.

Dymph's cousin Hjørdis joined the Hogwarts Staff as Head of Slytherin House. Though Dymph wasn't aware, her cousin disliked Reid up until closer to the end of the year after the Graduation Party. It was during the party that Reid stuck up for a Ravenclaw (Oliver) who was being bullied, and while Hjørdis didn't approve of his impulsive actions to protect the boy, the situation helped make up her mind that he's a good kid with his heart in the right place. Also during the party, Dymph accidentally jinxed Reid while trying to help and it made things awkward on her part until her thirteenth birthday.

SUMMER: Dymph is unaware of what is happening to Reid over the summer (his mother being Obliviated, his moving in with the Fosgates). She hears from him on her thirteenth birthday. His handwriting is a little neater and along with his letter, he sends her a locket with a lobster design.

*The Teague's think very highly of Reid and will occasionally send an owl his way (such as to congratulate him on his recent Prefect position). While Orlagh doesn't recognize Edith, she works on the same floor that Edith occupies at St. Mungo's Hospital.

Dymph's roommate who is also her academic rival. They enjoy pushing each other to do well in classes. These two have slowly gotten closer over the years, becoming friends, owl pals then best friends.

A fellow Irishman who Dymphna developed a crush on. She never acted on it and he left school not long after. Over time, her feelings for him faded, leaving behind a strange feeling of missing someone she never truly got to know in the first place.

FIRST YEAR: First met after Dymph bumped into him during a lonely walk through the corridors, these two Irish folk bonded over their mutual hobbies (chess) and would make plans to explore dueling club together. Though a few times, he came off too brutally honest, causing her to become angry or annoyed with him, she found him endearing in some ways. He was a bit socially awkward in her opinion, so she introduced him to her friends shortly after a crush was beginning to develop. Before they could explore this further, he left Hogwarts and she hasn't heard from him since.

*Sebastian has left the site. If they had ended up together, Dymph would have gotten into Dark Arts and possibly became withdrawn from her true friends. There was also a plot where her grandmother Eithne was trying to set them up together with the Leeds families blessing, in hopes that her granddaughter would follow in her own footsteps and become a Death Eater in the future.

TINY TIDBITS: Dymphna's parents were friends growing up and dated throughout their time at Hogwarts. It took them seven years into their marriage and a few miscarriages to have Dymph, so they can be overprotective at times. They only want what's best for their only child. (x)

TINY TIDBITS: Anlon and Cao met during their time at Hogwarts, introduced by Cao's sister, Dior. When they met, Anlon was in his sixth year (16) and Cao in her third (13); they saw each other as annoyances first then slowly became friends, and started dating after leaving school. Only a few years later, they had their son (Con) but due to the stressful state of the Wizarding world at the time, they waited to get married. They made it official on November 1, 1981 after news broke that Voldemort had been defeated by baby Harry Potter. In 1997, they used their Inn as a safehouse for non-purebloods during the Second Wizarding war. However, there was an exception made for the misunderstood Séverins; they were kept a secret even from other refugees due to their status as Death Eaters.

TINY TIDBITS: Dior introduced her younger sister Cao to her future husband, Anlon. During her time at Hogwarts, she wrote for the school newspaper. During her summers, she would write about her travels for her section of the paper that she called The Roaming Ravenclaw. Due to her consistent work on the paper, she was able to land an entry-level job and work her way up to being a Witch Weekly Editor. During her travels, she got pregnant. The only family members who know who the father is are Hjørdis and Muireen.

Although Dymph knows that Mui is her 1st cousin, she thinks of her as a kooky auntie.

TINY TIDBITS: Before Hjørdis took a job at Hogwarts in 2018, Dymph didn't know her that well.

TINY TIDBITS: Not much is known about Elaine's side of the family. They are thought of by the Teague's as a sort of 'black sheep' sort and aren't talked about much. What is known is that Elaine has suffered great loses and for that, the family will be there to help her in any way they can, if only she asks for it. Elaine had a husband but he was murdered in 1997. She also has a sister. More info here.

A bit of Eithne's backstory, which was Dymphna's Part-Veela application: Mid-1900's, an adventurer by the name of Aengus was travelling in Eastern Europe. During his travels, he was bewitched by a Veela and had two children with her - Eoghan and Eithne (½ Veela). They never got to know their parents. Aengus sent them to Ireland to be in the care of his sister Séarlait, using the Veela’s beauty as his excuse for not being able to go with them. Thus, Eoghan and Eithne were raised in what was once a castle in Malahide, Ireland.

Eithne (½ Veela) had a rough go of it, becoming harpy-like or spouting fire when angry. Her upbringing was disciplined, every move scheduled, unlike her brother who was able to choose his hobbies and roam the grounds freely. Feeling like a prisoner in her own home, she was ecstatic when her Hogwarts letter arrived. She and Eoghan were both sorted into Slytherin, where she spent her days researching anything to do with being a Veela - something that her aunt would never discuss, calling her an abomination instead (likely jealous of her beauty and disgusted by her own brother for having children with a Veela). During her research, she was able to find out more about the Tabolt family ancestry and how they came to hold status and power in Ireland over the decades.

There was no way to know for sure but she believed that her father had likely been killed by an unknown Veela, her mother. His whereabouts unknown into Eithne’s adulthood, her father is believed to be dead.

Despite Eithne being marginalized herself, Séarlait’s influence over the years and the incident in November of 1981 in which her brother Eoghan was murdered in London due to hanging out with Muggles, Eithne held a hatred for them in her heart. During a dangerous time in the Wizarding world, she grew cold and harsh, deciding to aid a cause that she truly believed in - Voldemort’s. Not long after she joined the Death Eaters, Lord Voldemort went into hiding, or so she preferred to believe, continuing to support the cause in secret.

She would go on to marry a jovial man by the name of Fergus Sloane. He fell for her charm and didn’t get spooked when she was angry, but Fergus and the rest of his family were of use to her, their open support for the Order throughout the years helping aid her own cause. She was using her husband for his own influence and more importantly for her own protection. By marrying him, she got to play happy family and move out of the prison-like castle that she grew up in, building her own mansion style home and eventually having a child of her own in 1975 - Orlagh (¼ Veela).

Orlagh was exceptionally bright and made up for her mother’s seemingly snooty nature with her own kindness. Her childhood wasn’t as restrictive as her mother’s but she did have a tutor before Hogwarts. Before Hogwarts, her hobbies included gardening, reading and cooking. It would come as no surprise that in her later school years, she would obtain O’s in her N.E.W.T.s and begin a career as a Healer. She would go on to marry her childhood/Hogwarts sweetheart named Conn who chose a career as a Historian and Curator. Despite many failed attempts and a miscarriage, they were able to have a daughter, Dymphna (⅛ Veela) in 2006.

Not always as accepting as they are now, Dymphna's family has turned over a new leaf. While they aren't members of the Order, they support them through donations and using the inn as a safehouse. Though not all of the family agrees, some have remained neutral and even fewer are on the Death Eaters side. (Eithne being a Death Eater is a secret, not even the family knows so your characters wouldn't either unless we plot it out).

PUREBLOOD SOCIETY: Those in the pureblood society know Dymphna to be exactly like her parents - believing in equality for all. Some may warn their children from interacting with her because of this. Due to her having a Veela heritage, there may be some prejudice against her for not having 100% pure blood, though some purebloods will forgive this because of her beauty.

GENERAL PUBLIC: The Teague's Inn was a well-known safehouse to non-purebloods during the war. To muggles, they're an odd but friendly family that cares about their community. 

HOGWARTS: With her current friend group and participation in extracurricular activities, Dymphna is quite a popular student though she doesn't see herself in that regard. 

Comes from Veela ancestry; her grandmother is half-veela, mother is quarter-veela, making Dymphna one-eighth veela.
