History/Background Story:

Reducio

Not having a very good home life, having never met his magical mother nor knew of her magical power, his very privileged father taught him to be very guarded, almost posh when dealing with other people. Perhaps that is why he has an insatiable drive for learning, stemming all the way through his scarred childhood, the most apparent of which would be his extreme interest in 'muggle' martial arts, but also perhaps as a means of escape from the household he felt forced to live in - and, also, his father. Having tried Kendo and found not very useful, he continued onto Karate and Kung Fu, but again, none struck his fancy. He finally took a shine to Bujinkhan Ninjitsu, or Nin-po, (Look it up. It is actually a real thing.) and continued on learning that until, after a particularly interesting day of training where he performed a very fast and largely unrealistic move,, he got the letter to go to Hogwarts, scaring his father, as he had hoped, rather foolishly, to keep him from all of that 'wizard buisiness'. Intrigued and curious about the nature of magic, especially when it pertains to martial arts and dueling, he is, of course, ready to explore the very boundaries of what he can do with magic - a particularly frightening prospect to his father.

During one session of training, he defeated one of his peers with a particularly fast and... unrealistic blow. No one thought anything of it, but Oliver and his father, and, apparently, Hogwarts' attention was snagged.
