Verner comes from a muggle family. In his parents' eyes he is a quiet, intelligent boy with only a few friends who generally behaves well. If it were not for the few instances of *magic* which occurred when Verner was stressed out, his parents would have never known he is magical or rather a *wizard*. Verner never causes his parents troubles intentionally, but sometimes the trouble finds him. Despite that his parents love him and consider everything just a part of growing up. Verner is an only child and he loves his parents.
Verner was born in continental Europe on 22nd April 2009, but together with his family, father Lukas and mother Catherine he lives in Preston since summer 2012. Moving back to England is not something Verner can remember, the reason probably was his maternal grandparents had deceased or maybe his parents invitation to work in Preston.
Both parents work, his father is an engineer, his mother works as a foreign language teacher at the local university.
As Verner attended nursery and primary school, he got caught into a few situations he unknowingly resolved with magic. Once in primary school when targeted by bullies, he has suspended them flying in the air. One time in his first year of primary school while being chased, he has disappeared from everyone's sight and appeared only once his parents got to school. Neither he nor his parents paid much attention to those *incidents*, however as he got his Hogwarts letter, it suddenly made more sense.
In order to hold *International Statute of Secrecy*,
since the whole *first instance of magic* incident has occurred mostly among children and one probably very tired nursery school teacher, ministry of magic personnel did not have much work to do. They persuaded the teacher who had seen boys and cube levitating it must have been due to her overall state of exhaustion, attributed the blinking lights to failure of electrical insulation as the nursery was located in an old building, and statements of boys about them levitating were explained as a pure child fantasy.
Other incidents that occurred have also been always promptly solved in similar manner. Gentle approach with the least passable amount of magic such as *obliviate* applied to fix people’s memories, so that nothing could ever be considered suspicious.
An unknown professor visited the flat where Verner's family lives the night before Verner's 11th birthday. The professor must have spent several hours explaining Verner's magical ability and his future as a wizard before persuading his quite skeptical parents, but in the end they approved. Verner's studies will continue at Hogwarts.
