History

James was born on November 1st, 2006, a Mixed Blood who's parents were a witch mother and a muggle father. He grew up and was raised completely Muggle, and for the vast majority of his life, had no knowledge of the magical world and the fact that it existed.
James went to muggle school in California, as if he was a normal muggle child. But, of course, he wasn't. Like most magical children, he eventually started showing subtle signs of having magic, but neither he nor anyone else noticed them, because they were expressed through his talent and like for Muggle magic tricks.
James joined his elementary school talent show when he was in 4th grade, and he was the only magic act auditioning. When he auditioned, he did card tricks and coin tricks, and mind-reading tricks, but all of those things was exactly what their names suggested: tricks.
At the same time, James loved to read. He read lots of books, but specifically fantasy books. Books about magic, books about other realms and other worlds, but he wouldn't touch non-fiction history books. James was almost the pure definition of a fan-boy in the muggle world. He would fall in love with movies and music, and art, and books, and performers, and entertainers, and video games, and writing his own stories, and anything that would get him closer to fantasy or magic. James was a believer, that somewhere out there, there was something more, something magical waiting to show itself. He firmly believed and truly, genuinely desired for something out-of-this-world to happen.
One day, his wish came true. An owl swooped in through his bedroom window as he was typing away on his computer and a letter dropped onto his keyboard. He looked up and saw the owl perched on the top shelf of his dresser, before it spread its wings and flew away again.
Perplexed, but very much excited by this strange occurrence, he ripped open the letter after seeing that it was addressed to him and even had which room he slept in on it. Inside, he found his letter of acceptance to Hogwarts. He ran to his parents to show them, and that is when they first told him the truth about magic. James was too excited to be mad that they had kept it from him.
James' first year at Hogwarts was lopsided. He wasn't entirely sure what he was supposed to be doing half of the time. He began as a very naive but cheerful and enthusiastic student. He was sorted into Hufflepuff, and was ecstatic.
James went on to meet a lot of people and make some new friends. However, he also made an enemy of Max Avery. James definitely could have done better on his schoolwork, but he rocked the BlossomFest season. He ended up being employed in the Hufflepost someway into the year. He wanted to try out for the Quidditch team as well.
A snowball fight in the winter was a lot of fun for young James. He didn't win, but got hit the most, or something like that.
James also attended the Hufflepuff Campout, and was one of the few who didn't get taken out by the spider swarm, killer shadows and massive forest fire. He helped in dragging out other students who had fallen, and he spent a long night in the Hospital Wing afterwards.
He went to the BlossomFest Ball afterwards with Marissa North. Before he could engage in any dancing however, he was one of the many people who witnessed the crazy student who set the event on fire.
Going into his second year, James hopes to see less fire and do better on his schoolwork. And possibly take a break from crushing on and kissing any girls.
