Pre-Hogwarts

Saying the Grimsson family is that of typical Pureblood mindset would barely touch on what it is like being born into such a “supposed” elite standing in the Wizarding World.. at least by their standards. Kian was born to Rowena Thorne, a hardy Scottish woman, and Skendar Grìmsson, a thick blooded Scandinavian man. Kian was raised with a harsher view of the world both Magical and otherwise from a young age. He was expected to do as he was told and stay in line with the family traditions. This did not bother the boy much as he was fairly relaxed even as a wee bairn, not fussy nor one to cry. In fact more often than naught his nursemaid had to check on him to be sure he hadn't passed on from the lack of noise each day and night.

As for the boy's first magical experience as with all Grìmsson and Thorne children, made an appearance from the cradle itself. Small things such as a blanket nudging close around their torso or rolling from the seat they were resting on only to pause briefly before landing on the ground safely. Kian was no different. His very first telltale sign of magical abilities would come however at the age of 4 when his parents were in a heated debate about his father's mining business. Skendar had snatched at his wife's wrist when they both paused at the touch of something soft... A small stuffed bear that his Grandsire, Morven Grimsson, had gifted the boy was gently touching both of their ankles, it's small button eyes staring upwards. Unfortunately, it had little effect on the overall outcome of his parent's marital state as the arguing only worsened when both of Kian's younger siblings came along, making the boy feel it was his duty to shelter them.

Hogwarts was just another expectation for the family but Kian, it meant something more, a sense of freedom. Socializing beyond his family's circle was something he greatly looked forward to. His first year had been rough... having no one to lay his clothes out, carry his things and guide him personally through studies had been a hard adjustment. Leading a privileged life had done him no favors with his peers either. He was often mocked or teased by others who had painted him as just another snotty rich Pureblood. Much of his time was solitary, giving him more time to focus on studies. Not too popular among others outside of the Pureblood standing, earning him a twisted reputation very much the opposite of his true demeanor. Keeping his head high and ignoring the claims, Kian found himself enjoying school nonetheless. With his second year quickly approaching, the young boy hopes things will change for him.

Personality

Having social etiquette and knowing how to work a crowd is something the Grìmsson family prouds themselves on. Kian is well versed in various social niceties and enjoys being around others even if the attention isn't on him. He has a curious nature and enjoys collecting information so to speak, whether bits of gossip or secrets to just general personal thoughts others have shared with him. He is not a shy person at all and never has been, even with those in the Muggle world that he has conversed with. Cautious but friendly to anyone he doesn't know, he is happy to strike up a conversation with whomever. Like his father he has a more entrepreneurial side to him and shines at social gatherings. Though the spotlight does not distract him from observing the world he lives in nor has it made him insecure. Growing up the elder sibling to a younger sister and adopted, so to speak, brother has made him quite patient and protective. His downfall is his ambition and confidence however that makes him at times seem selfish, self-absorbed, ruthless as well as haughty. To him it is merely expected of him to succeed in tasks he puts his mind to and experience new things, achieve goal after goal in his life. It is the Grìmsson way after all and will lead him to taking on his father's legacy. Granted...this has lead him down some bad paths as once he wants something it can become an obsession or toxic competition with others to attain.

Kian stands a sturdy 5'6" with broad shoulders and athletic frame from years of working in the stables at home. His dark ash brown hair, once kept short has now been let loose to lay resting against the back of his neck just below his ears. Despite the length he tends to it regularly so it always appears neatly parted down the center of his scalp and well maintained. The feathery layers are often swept back out of his hazel eyes with the exception of a stray lock or two. Flecks of green and what looks like gold are mixed together when closely examining the boy's eyes though appear dark and somewhat broody from a distance. His nicely framed face is complemented by well groomed brows that somehow always appear to be raised in a quizzical or intrigued manner along with a handsomely sloped jawline, should his face start filling out properly that is.

It is clear Kian takes care with his outward appearance in accordance with typical Pureblood fashion. He is rarely seen in any slouched position or with poor posture. The same can be said for his wardrobe, much of which his mother meticulously has put together over the years having instilled a superb sense of style, that which rivals any upper-class Muggle type appeal or trends. Blazers, suit jackets, dinner tails and attire, changing for every occasion of the day is just part of Kian's routine ever since he was born. Even in the privacy of his own room at the Grìmsson Estate, does he rarely wear anything that could be deemed common or plain by his family or peers. Though a secret side of him wonders what it would be like to "veg" in loose fitting pajamas for a full day.
