It is considered to be forms of the boys' name 'Lucius' and the girls' name 'Lucy' and is traditionally given to babies born at daybreak, as Lucia was. ─────────────────────────.FOX This is the name of the family that Lucia's mother married into. Although she has not seen her husband for many years and isn't on good terms with his parents, she and her daughters still use and are proud of the name. REPUTATION.━ Reducio Due to her not being an extremely outgoing person, and having become even more withdrawn in the period after her best friend Alexa's death in winter 2021, most people probably don't know who Lucia Fox is. She doesn't mind this - there's no reputation to live up to if you don't have one, after all. However, those in pureblood circles may recognise her by her surname when she introduces herself. Most students are only likely to know of her from her position on the Hufflepuff duelling team or her leadership of the Bookworms club. Thanks to her Veela ancestry becoming public in October 2022, Lucia found herself in the public eye for a little, but the gossip seems to have calmed down now. ───────────────────────────────────────── WAND.────── Reducio ❝ An extremely loyal and faithful wand! Slightly swishy, and goes along well with highly intuitive wizards who also have a certain affinity with nature.❞ ───────────────────────────────────────── Length | 23.5cm Wood | Blackthorn Core | Jackalope.antler Flexibility | Slightly swishy ───────────────────────────────────────── DESCRIPTION BY PIPER CLARK Wands of blackthorn are typically fighters, and Lucia is no exception to this general rule. Though she may not express it at first sight, she has passions and thoughts, all woven into a complex personality. Her wand overall has a few contradictions, but this makes for a spontaneous wand. The saying “opposites attract” works marvelously here. Like Lucia, the blackthorn wood is exceptionally loyal. However, this wand requires a personal connection (usually arriving via emotionally hard circumstances) in order to work best to its fullest potential. This unwavering loyalty can be this wand’s greatest downfall, as it will work just as well for owners who have gone on the Dark path as it will for the good. Lucia trusts and befriends far more easily than blackthorn would usually prefer, but she will not let strangers into her deep, vulnerable heart too easily. She must get to know them - learn their motives - before allowing herself to offer the gift of rigid allegiance. Lucia will best work with her wand when she has persevered through difficult times with it. Unlike most blackthorn users, Lucia is much more of an optimist than a doom-and-gloom pessimist. Jackalope antler core is a truly peculiar core indeed - not a typical Ollivander core, and presumably originating from a North American wandmaker. Similarly to the creature it comes from (a mythical rabbit with antlers of a deer), it is suited to those who are physically active in one form or another. One can see the power this core presents through Lucia - not stereotypical brute power, but a spontaneous and intuitive power which kicks in only when needed most. This core is something of a paradox for Lucia - it does suit ambiverts quite well, but Lucia does not seek the type of adventure this core truly desires. However, this simply makes for unusual circumstances - Lucia’s dueling reflexes make perfect sense within the scope of this core’s power. Though the blackthorn wood and jackalope antler core are seemingly opposites, these are ideal conditions. The fact that both blackthorn and jackalope antler perform highly in both defensive magic/jinxes (particularly charms and defense against the dark arts) and astronomy is likely no coincidence. Lucia loves astronomy, and it is this call to the universe and nature - the unknown - that her wand encourages and works with. Wand and owner’s very bases and personalities are contrasting yet extremely compatible. A slightly swishy flexibility indicates that Lucia is healthily open-minded. She will express her views, and being the mediator she is, she will generally be quite polite about them. Lucia is more likely to stay quiet in large groups which contrast her opinions (under slight peer pressure), but in small group settings or one-on-one will speak up. The flexibility indicates loyalty which works quite well for blackthorn, not performing to its best potential for anybody else. A length of 23.5 cm is on the lowest end of the length spectrum, indicating a fatal flaw in Lucia’s personality. It contains all of her sewing supplies, including her enchanted embroidery hoop, and she has many happy memories attached to it. Reducio Cash Ironwoods gave Lucia this necklace on her twelfth birthday. Reducio At the start of Lucia's second year, she signed a friendship pact with Alina Rosier and Alexa Mackenzie. Along with writing a the pact, Alina painted the three girls and gave them all matching bracelets. Lucia is very rarely seen without her bracelet on, and (since Alina now attends Beauxbatons and Alexa is dead) also now owns the pact and painting. The latter is hung up in her space in her dorm room. Reducio Lucia began filling in this notebook as extracurricular work for Astronomy in the summer holiday before her second year. Since then, it has filled up rapidly and contains her notes on just about the entirety of the Astronomy curriculum. Reducio Lucia wore this mask to her first Hogwarts ball in her second year. Since she can't keep the dresses she wears to balls (they are sold on by her mother, and the money goes towards buying dresses for the next one) she begged to keep this as a reminder of the event. (Yes, the sandals have needed to be enlargened with magic many times.) Reducio Lucia was given this fan as a joint present from her sisters for Christmas in her second year, and she took it to the Beckett Winter Ball. Reducio "A home-made kite, a beautiful streaming multi-colored dragon. It has detailed scales that shimmer in the sunlight and ribbons that dance through the air. On the steep windy hills of Scottland, it would be easy to catch the breeze. An elaborate design that is sure to impress, but a handmade touch that ensures it's one-of-a-kind." Lucia recieved this as part of a secret santa errand in her second year. Though her partner had to drop out, the librarian, Robyn Finley, made her a kite which she loves. Reducio Lucia was given these dancing clothes by her sisters and mother for her thirteenth birthday. She knows they aren't really anything special, particularly when compared to the incredible outfits which Eun-ji wears to their dance practises, but they're better than nothing and Lucia particularly loves the skirt. Reducio Lucia doesn't know who gave her this beautiful box, as it appeared on her bed with a note after she returned from an errand in her second year. It was a thoughtful gift which contributed to her healing after Alexa's death, and Lucia keeps her letters to Alexa in it. Reducio Willow gave Lucia a rock friend in February of her second year. It's called Rocky and is currently imprisoned in Lucia's trunk, but occasionally gets out when Lucia doesn't close the lid fast enough and follows her around. Reducio A set of notebooks. Lucia embroidered a set of notebooks - one for each of her classes - as part of an errand at the beginning of her fourth year. She theoretically uses them to write notes for each class, similarly to her Astronomy notebook, but not quite as well-filled. │.APPEARANCE.│ ┗▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬┛ ───────────── DESCRIPTION Reducio Lucia may be a little conceited when it comes to her looks, but her vanity has its grounds in her real beauty, most of which she inherited from her Veela grandmother. Her deep blue eyes (a family trait shared by her mother and sisters) are the most obvious link to Lucia's inhuman ancestry, though her pale skin - marred by a sprinkling of freckles in the summer months - and aura of uncompetable loveliness are also clues to the close observer. Her most prominent feature would probably be her hair, which almost reaches her hips when straightened. Most of the time, though, it cascades down her back in carefully styled waves, ending just above her waistline. These waves are an imitation of the natural waves Lucia's hair used to boast before it thickened during her third year, leaving Lucia with something only a little less than curls; they would have required far too long to tame if it weren't for Lucia's Comb of Vanity, an impulse purchase at Hogsmeade which she now can't imagine life without. Naturally, Lucia's hair is jet black (another family trait, this time from her maternal grandfather), but she magically 'dyed' it between the summer of her second and third years. It is now a gradient of her natural black at the crown of her head to the same blue as her eyes at each hair's base - though she has been known to undo the spell for events where she puts her hair up, and even went blonde on one occasion in her third year. Puberty has been kind to her on the whole, gifting her with a growth spurt that makes her taller than many of her classmates, but is to blame for the (thankfully tiny amount of) spots which Lucia covers up with makeup and treats with magical spot-removal cream. ‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾‾ Under a trillion stars, we danced on top of cars Took pictures of the stage, so far from where we are ______________________________________

CLOTHING.──────── Reducio Most of Lucia's clothing, including her uniform, was bought second hand. Thanks to a mixture of magic and regular Muggle sewing, though, it's hard to tell unless you're looking closely. When at school, she wears her uniform - which is mostly bereft of personal touches - most of the time. At weekends, when she can choose what to wear, her style is fairly simple. She leans towards skirts and dresses rather than trousers and doesn't like denim or leather, preferring loose fabrics. Most of her clothes don't have any writing on them, since she quite likes patterned or plain clothes in light colours.In terms of accessories, Lucia is rarely found without her "three amigas" bracelet but doesn't wear a lot of other jewelry on casual occasions other than earrings. Her nails are generally painted a complimentary colour to her outfit.

The main, and most obvious, of those is her undisputable loyalty. It may take a while for someone to get into her heart, but once they are there it'll take a lot to get them out again, and Lucia'll stand by them no matter what. That might not always be a very helpful thing though, because the girl's best qualities mostly rest in the creative rather than the practical, and some of her not-so-good, such as her unpredictable temper, are just a pain. A daydreamer at heart, Lucia will often loose track in what is being said in a conversation or lesson if she isn't interested, and will often start doodling (badly, since she's not exactly an artist) on her parchment if there is any to hand. Interest her, though, and she's a great listener, offering her own input when necessary. However, she's easily intimidated, especially by large groups of people, and is unlikely to voice her own opinion if everyone else disagrees with her. In fact, Lucia may just lie in order to fit in with everyone else. ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── FAMILY.LINEAGE.─────────────────────────── Reducio Lucia's father was a member of the Fox family, and therefore a descendant of a long line of purebloods. The Fox family is not incredibly well known and hasn't done anything particularly noteable other than exist, but likes to pretend that they have. By spending most of their money on their outward appearance, the Foxes just about manage to keep up a facade of almost-wealth despite not having a lot of money at all. This wasn't always the case, though. They used to be a rather prominent family in the wizarding community and fairly rich, as most pureblood families seemed to be at the time. Although the amount of gold in the Fox family vault has declined in recent decades, they make up for it with pride in both their family name and the purity of their blood. In this way at least, the Fox family fit almost all expectations of a stereotypical pureblood family. Almost obsessed with keeping their bloodline pure, and hiding the existance of muggles and squibs in their family tree (if they existed at all), they often threatened to disinherit members who married 'under their status'. As far as the wizarding world knows, this was never tested. However, there has always been some element of mystery surrounding the family. It's a tradition for Fox children to be hidden from society until they display their first accidental magic, a tradition which was interrupted in its most recent generation as Lucia's mother refused to do such a thing: her only rebellion from the Foxes' expectations. The family used to be close by pureblood standards, but since the disappearance of their 'only son' (Lucia's father), Aurelia and Cedric Fox have dissasociated themselves with Ebony and her daughters, blaming Ebony for Antony's fate. Reducio Lucia's maternal grandfather, Charles Baxter, was also of pureblood heritage. However, the Baxters were never concerned with their public appearance and existed for generations just out of public view. In fact, if you were to say the name 'Baxter' to any average modern wizard, they would have no idea who you were talking about, and that suited the Baxter family just fine. The one notable Baxter relative is Timothy Baxter, a wizard who received an Order of Merlin (third class) in the 1800s, though no-one can remember why and no-one has bothered to check. Nowadays, only one wizard alive bears the Baxter name, and he is a solitary individual. Charles Baxter rarely ventures outside of his small cottage far away from any real wizarding civilisation, and most of the world has forgotten about him - just as he wants it. PARENTAGE ─────────────────────────────── Reducio Pureblooded Antony Fox was brought up in his parents' house, a large place probably meant for aristocrats rather than young boys. Antony was brought up following old-fashioned pureblood views, which dictated family pride, blood purity, and what 'status' meant. Though the Foxes were not as rich as some of their fellows, they were still determined to keep their place in pureblood society and Antony, being an only child, was their best hope at continuing the Fox legacy once his parents Cedric and Aurelia were dead. Well, not quite. Antony actually had an older brother, hidden away from society until his first instance of accidental magic, as per Fox family traditions. But for the eldest Fox son, this instance never came. Rather than introduce their squib son to the world, Aurelia and Cedric sent him to live with Aurelia's brother in Russia and tried their best to forget about his existance. As such, Antony was treated as his family's only heir. He entered Hogwarts with his nose high in the air, went through it with his nose high in the air, and left with his nose high in the air. The only noticable difference was that, while he entered Hogwarts alone, he came out as a pair. By his twenty-fifth birthday, he was married to Ebony Baxter, a 'pureblood' whom he had dated since his fifth year at Hogwarts. The match was viewed upon by Antony's parents as not the best option, but one which worked, since Ebony maintained her status of pureblood and Antony was adamant that he would marry no other. Reducio Many years ago, a man named Charles Baxter was touring the world as is wizarding tradition when he fell in love with a Bulgarian Veela. This was not unusual, of course, as most people are attracted to Veelas in some form, but this time it was unusual - because the Veela loved him back. Her name, or at least her name in the human tongue, was Marigold, after her mother's favourite flowers, and she fell for Charles with a love so strong that, when he was forced to return to England, she went with him. The two bought a house deep in the English countryside and lived happily for several years. After this time, the two decided that they wanted to be married, but seeing as Marigold was not registered anywhere it was impossible. Because of this, they settled for the next best thing: an Unbreakable Vow to never abandon each other - to always be together for the rest of their lives however long or short they may be. Soon after this, Marigold gave birth to two girls - identical twins - and the couple couldn't have been more delighted. The girls inherited Charles' dark hair, but their locks seemed to shine, a nod to their Veela blood, and their eyes were of a blue almost to rival that of their mother's. Charles named one twin Ebony, and Marigold the other River. Just before the twins' eleventh birthday, tragedy struck the Baxter family. After a month of ill health, River died of disease, and the family was left feeling as though it had been cut in half. River had always been the quiet twin, and to Ebony it seemed that she didn't realise how much her twin meant to her until it was too late. A quiet funeral was held and River's ashes scattered in the woods where she, Ebony, Charles and Marigold had spent so long walking, and when Ebony's Hogwarts letter came she debated refusing it - throwing it into the dustbin and living the rest of her life in mourning as tribute to her dead sister. But Charles and Marigold wouldn't let her. As much as they didn't want to be left alone in their grief, they had each other and persuaded their daughter to attend Hogwarts and make her life as wonderful and happy as possible, even if only to make up for the loss of River. And so, off Ebony went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and was sorted into Slytherin on account of her desire to get out there and achieve her ends, though at the time she still wasn't sure what those were. A few months into her first year, Marigold added to the family's struggles by passing away - legendly of heartbreak, though logical Ebony decided that her mother had likely contracted the same disease that River had died from. The family of four had become two. Ebony was a rather solitary creature during her years at school and made few friends. She quickly realised that the people she wanted to befriend thought badly of half-breeds and never told them of her own parentage, instead pretending that she was pureblood. As her memory of her mother slowly faded, she began to believe in their ideals and even to blame Marigold for River's death. It seemed plausible that a Veela should have a stronger immune system than a human, that Marigold could have contracted the disease first and unknowingly passed it to River, that if only Marigold had been human then River's death could have been avoided. After leaving Hogwarts, Ebony married Antony Fox and slowly ceased contact with her one remaining blood relative in fear that he would expose her lies and destroy the life she had created for herself. CHILDHOOD ────────────────────────────── Reducio At sunrise on the 12th August 2008, Ebony and Antony welcomed their first child, a daughter they named Lucia. The first year of Lucia's life passed uneventfully, and on the 30th August 2009 her sister Briar was born. They grew up very close, especially since neither of them went to a primary school or had any real friends apart from each other. On the 22nd April 2014, Lucia's second and youngest sister, Willow, was born. A week later, however, when Lucia and Briar woke up, their father had gone. He was nowhere to be seen, but a small suitcase (magically expanded on the inside, of course) was missing, as well as his wand and some of his clothes. That evening, Ebony told her daughters of their true heritage as part-Veelas, but didn't offer an explanation as to where Antony had gone. Since then, the two youngest generations of the Fox family have had no contact with Lucia's paternal grandparents, who blame Ebony for Antony's disapparance. It was around this time that Lucia experienced her first instance of accidental magic. Though Lucia had grown up around magic, it was still a surprise the first time she accidentally caused any. Unfortunately in her eyes, however, it wasn't as exciting as she had hoped. Seeing as she had read about dramatic incidences of teleportation (it couldn't really be called Apparition, Lucia had decided, when it didn't involve feeling as though your guts were going to fall out) and explosions, Lucia spent hours trying to conjure up intense emotions to make something happen and once even tried her father's wand, but nothing happened. Nothing until when she was six years old, a few weeks after Antony left the house. The family was in disarray and Lucia had repeatedly found herself taking to books to loose herself in rather than facing the reality of Antony's disappearance. Ebony had tidied hers and Briar's room and put one of Lucia's favourite books on the top shelf, meaning that she couldn't reach it - so she decided, as young children do, that it would be a good idea to climb the shelves to get to it. Once she stepped onto the bottom shelf, however, the bookcase wobbled dangerously. She was just beginning to wonder if this maybe wasn't such a good idea when she looked down and saw that the book was on the floor. The sudden revelation that her magic had finally shown itself and moved it there was the cause of several days' worth of rare happiness for the family. Once Antony had disappeared, Ebony couldn't rely on his well-paying job to support the family. She herself had never even known what she wanted to do, so had to take initiative. Inspired by Lucia's first accidental magic and her own love of books, she converted the bottom floor of the Foxes' house into a bookshop with both a muggle section at the front and a hidden magical section in the back. 'Fox's Magic Shop' opened in early 2015, and since then Ebony has been able to use her income from that to support herself and her daughters, though not as well as she would have liked or had become used to. FIRST YEAR ─────────────────────────────── Reducio Lucia's first surprise upon entering Hogwarts was being Sorted into Hufflepuff. She had always assumed, mostly due to her mother's confidence in the matter, that she would become a Slytherin, so this event marked a significant change for her. She spent her first two months or so at Hogwarts drifting between shock, confusion, and anger at her Sorting, even going as far as to ignore her family's letters out of shame as to what her mother might say at the news. However, once she met Alina Rosier, a fellow Hufflepuff in a similar situation, she began to accept the Sorting Hat's ruling and even started to explore the aspects of her which made her a Hufflepuff. After tense Christmas break in Oxford, during which Lucia was alternately shouted at, hugged, and cried on by a bewildered Ebony, Lucia returned to Hogwarts with an air of resolve to still make her mother proud, no matter what house she was in. By the time her first year was halfway though, Lucia had realised that Hufflepuff really was best for her. With this revelation over, she threw herself into Hogwarts life a little more and had her perceptions of almost everything she had learned at home modified by real people her own age - for example, it was quite strange for her when she discovered that muggleborns did, in fact, have just the same amount of magical power as purebloods. Luckily for her, Lucia left for her summer break a little less naïve than when she had entered the castle a year before. SECOND YEAR ───────────────────────────── Reducio By the time Lucia's second year came around, she was ready to be more Involved In Things. (With capital letters, since this was a rather big resolution for a girl like Lucia.) She promptly signed up for at least three clubs and then forgot to go to most of the meetings. Luckily, she wasn't completely hopless at this whole 'socialising' thing, because she found herself part of a tight triumvirate of friends - herself, Alina Rosier (who left for Beauxbatons in the Christmas holidays), and Alexa Mackenzie. The three signed up for duelling, and Lucia was swiftly partnered with fellow second-year Logan Baird, with whom she won a match, lost a match, and then won one again. Somewhere between all of this she managed to make an ememy in the form of Gryffindor rival Rose Moon, and a friend in the form of fellow dancer Carolyn (now Eun-ji) Hunt.
