History/Background Story:
Born to a lower working class muggle family (for the most part), Margaret Wright his young and mentally stable (for the most part) mother and Gregory Cloverfield his fuzzy bearded secretly magical father (the wizard of the family). Alex grew up without knowing much about magic, in fact it was never mentioned in front of him at all. His father kept a tight lid on his past and would never cast a single spell in Alex's presence, wishing him a normal childhood away from the wizarding world, secretly wishing his son would be born as a squib. Alex grew up in a household that didn't believe (and afford) a television, cellphones or computers, so to occupy himself while being at home, he'd often read books. Out of all the genres he was always drawn more to fantasy than anything else, secretly wishing he'd some day be wisped away to a magical land where all of those spectacular things would exist. Alex however grew up without much of a presence from his family, the mother being mostly at work while the father would often disappear for months on oversea business trips, they told him he was some sort of a soup sellsman but Alex didn't get it, whats so great about soup anyway. Alex could communicate fairly well with kids his age, he always proved to be a loyal friend while it didn't always end very well for him, still he somehow managed to get away with most things, even when caught he managed to find a way to get out of there, sometimes he himself had a hard time explaining how (its not like it could be *magic*)

Alex was a good kid overall, if it he wouldn't break rules on his own and he was surprisingly attentive, although overly curious which sometimes would get his attention misplaced. At his 10th birthday his father brought him a snowglobe with a cauldron within it, he always thought it was a bit weird but he loved it nonetheless, that was also the last time he had seen his father, later that day his father disappeared, as if popped out of existence without a trace. Alex would also notice some weird things happening around him as well, things start to disappear from the house every now and again, brand new objects would suddenly appear out of nowhere, usually on the table, a window frame suddenly turns to stone (it was wooden before), neither him nor his mom could find an explanation to this, they called the cops on numerous occasions but it did them no good, they couldn't spot the thief/prankster who did this (maybe it was magic).

On his 11th birthday Alex was celebrating with his mom, his father was still nowhere in sight. He walked one moment to the bathroom and suddenly he found himself in a weird street, looked quite a bit old fashion with a bunch of robed people walking everywhere. He could see several kids his age walking around but couldn't understand how he got there. In his pocket was a cramped letter and several golden coins. The letter was inviting him to go to Hogwarts, a school for upcoming promising wizards and witches. Alex thought it was a prank of some sort, he had no interest doing card tricks or pulling bunnies out of hats and playing with saws looked dangerous! Alex would run off to some dark corner and weep for a while, it was a new place, he was scared and there he wanted his mommy (hey, its a kid). By the time the hordes of people walking by has thinned a little as the street lamps have blinked to life someone found him, a pale old figure with a rusty voice and a shaking hand offered to help him find what he needs. Alex, being a kid agreed to the offer, luckily this totally not creepy old man actually helped him find the stores he needed and buy all of the supplies on the list. He then told him how to get to the train station to catch his train to Hogwarts, though he also noted that the train leaves only in several days, not once did he ask Alex though what happened to his parents. The old man apparently owned a shop nearby, he let Alex stay there for a while until he could leave to his journey, he fed him and he let him stay at the shop past closing hours.

The old man helped Alex get to the train station and through the wall to catch his train but refused to board with him. They parted and Alex was on his way to Hogwarts now. In the train he saw a lot of kids huddling together, well, sort of, they were everywhere, many of them were much older and some were around his age. He stayed by the door the whole time though being a bit timid of the whole experience. As they finally arrived several hours later, Alex was huddled with the rest of the first years together and escorted through the ground. Alex still being dumbfounded regarding everything he had seen so far had his mind racing, he would ask a lot of questions, a LOT! And eventually it seems like the person escorting them got a bit of silence and didn't question it, the reason for that is because our dear, smart Alex got a detour into some bushes because he thought he saw some sort of a legendary butterfly flying somewhere over there (its a thing from a book he read), after a while of walking he was clearly lost and one thing led to another he found himself exiting the woods and going to the nearest big thing in sight - the great lake. There he found a Slytherin girl who kept sinking pebbles in the lake, she tried to skip them but they were clearly broken... Somehow. She was the first person to actually give him the time of day and not look annoyed over it - unlike the person who escorted them before who was clearly an adult and even more so extremely annoyed by Alex. He found a friend that day, or at least he thought that she was his friend, but more on that later!

More importantly, he somehow managed to find his way back to the castle (around 7 PM), he would be escorted in by his clearly annoyed escort and tired first year students who just want to eat something since they all have been waiting for him for hours and even had several people sent out to find him while he was gone. He was finally brought to the great hall and got sorted into Gryffindor. You might have thought that I'd write more for this but HAH! NOOOOOOOOO! 1000 words is more than enough, enjoy.
