Calypso: “Conceal; she who hides." The name originates from ancient Greek Mythology: a demi-goddess and nymph of exceptional beauty who lived on the hidden island of Ogygia, and kept Odysseus as her prisoner and lover for seven years. Also the name of the famous research boat of the French underwater researcher Jacques Costeau, was called "Calypso".

Rosalia: Rosalia is a feminine given name of Latin origin meaning "rose" and was the name of an early saint Saint Rosalia. In Latin, the Rosalia was a festival of roses celebrated variously throughout the Roman Empire.

Aretez: I literally just made up that name, couldn't find a single thing about it.

Estrada: The toponymic surname Estrada originates from any of the many places in Spain and Portugal named Estrada, from Estrada, meaning "road." Derived from the Latin stata, denoting a "road or paved way," which in turn derives from sternere, "to strew or cover."

✿The Aretez Family✿

The Aretez family is a long and powerful Pureblood line of Slytherins. They kept their reputation as a powerful line of Aurors and socialites. They saw a good reputation and lots of money as the main priority, and were very interested in trading and business. They did anything to get their way, and become powerful, but were careful to also maintain a good social reputation.

The Aretez family was known to originate in mainly the Philippines and Mexico. Even from then many generations showed magic. A few 100 generations before Calypso, a family from England met the Aretezes in trade, and arranged a marriage for one of their children. That spread the Aretez family to Britain, starting their reign as a Slytherin family in the magical world.

✿The Estrada Family✿

The Estrada family is a muggle family. Relatives are less known by Calypso, since they aren't as close and spread out across the world, varying jobs. However, the Estrada family is known as an honest and kind hearted family, always generous to those less fortunate than them. They're a well off family, they aren't exactly rich, and aren't exactly poor. They're known as hard workers, and put good effort into projects.

The Estrada family originates from varying islands in the Caribbean, from Puerto Rico to the Dominican Republic. Most of her family still lives there, since they never really collect enough money to move to a better off place. Calypso's grandparents, a young businessman and a lawyer, collected enough money to move to Burford, England, where her mother, Maria, was eventually accepted into Hogwarts and graduated as a Gryffindor.

✿Pre-Hogwarts✿

Calypso Rosalia Aretez was born on April 29th, 2008, in Lincoln, England, to Maria Aretez and Antonio Aretez. She was raised among a muggle community, and went to a muggle school. She often had trouble making friends, causing her to develop a rude and sarcastic personality. Her two best friends were her parents, and they were very close. Although, her mother acted more as a guardian figure. She didn't tell her mother as much secrets, or told her jokes. However, her father was her closest friend, and she loved him very much.

She was raised very aware of her magic, and told she couldn't disappoint her family in anyway, destroying their reputation, becoming another house, or even being a squib. This gave her an idea that the Slytherin house was superior, and squibs were a disgrace to the magical world. She believed that wizards were more powerful that muggles, which lead to it being harder to make friends in her school. As she grew older, however, she became less determined, knowing eventually she'd go to Hogwarts, to make friends more like her. Her mother, who was a muggleborn taught her that muggles were just as powerful, and she became less mean towards them. However, until now, she is a bit less patient with muggleborns and half-bloods.

When Calypso turned 5, her mother told her she would be getting a little brother. Carlos Rafael Aretez was born on March 7th, 2013. Calypso's parents were obsessed with him, which didn't go well with Calypso, a sensitive 5 year old. She threw tantrums all the time, complaining her brother was her favorite and her parents didn't care. She eventually learned how to get along with her brother, but, her young brother would eventually bring out her magic.

✿First Magic✿

It wasn't until Calypso was 6 that she started showing her first signs of magic. Even after a year with young toddler, Calypso was still upset about him, throwing tantrums. Eventually, these tantrums were enough to bring out her magic. One day, the tantrum got out of hand and suddenly, the room started shaking. Objects moved, doors opened, and lights flickered. Her parents immediately knew their daughter was showing her first signs of magic. Although they were a bit upset about the mess, they were proud that she started to show magic. Eventually, she was taught to control her temper and magic, and get along with her brother.
