PHYSICAL APPEARANCE | Amadea's fiery red hair* makes up for the less than exuberant shy exterior she puts out. Her natural, wild, red curls are usually found straightened, as Amadea finds them much easier to maintain when not curly. When she does leave her hair natural, it poofs up around her like a lion's mane. Her looks come entirely from the Campbell side of the family; from her complexion to her coloring, everything is thanks to her father. Amadea stands at 5'5", fairly average height for her age. She has brown eyes and a pale complexion. When not in her school uniform, she can be found in a plain t-shirt and a pair of shorts or pants; fashion was never something that Amadea cared about too much. While not the strongest person in the world, she isn't a twig, either. SCHOOL | Before coming to Hogwarts, Amadea received her education from Dallington School in London. However, she was pulled out and was homeschooled for the last few years before attending Hogwarts due to various reasons including problems with girls at her school. Scarlett Leigh and Kate Quinn were the queen bees of Dallington School (if you can imagine fourth graders as mean girls). They often bullied Amadea for her looks, personality, and everything in between. While Amadea doesn't like to hold grudges, she definitely wouldn't hesitate to hex them given the chance now. For this reason, Amadea was hesitant about attending Hogwarts. However, she found that the atmosphere of the magical school was much different than Dallington ever had been. She made new friends and joined many different clubs. She was a member of the newspaper team during her first year and was a Prefect her second year. She also has participated in the Gobstones Club and the Duelling Club. As for the academics, Amadea finds that she loved most of her classes, finding a special place in her heart for Charms, Potions, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. While she tries to always look at the bright side, she can't help but feel a strong dislike toward History of Magic; she finds it rather boring to be learning the history of magic when she could be practicing the magic instead. She also struggles with Transfiguration; she finds the subject very interesting but struggles with the techniques. She also has a strong dislike for flying class. Unlike many of her peers, Amadea has absolutely no interest in flying around in the air on a broom that could easily snap or break. THE CAMPBELLS | The Campbell family tree has a complicated, interwoven lineage that dates back to the birth of Eleanor Campbell (nee Lavoka) and Raymond Campbell: the most recent two individuals noted to possess magical abilities in the Campbell line. If one traced back the records of the Campbell lineage, they would find that magic was sprinkled occasionally throughout generations of the line. However, there were an equal number of Campbell members that lacked any magical skills or even knowledge of the wizarding world to begin with.

The Campbell family forged roots in London in the mid 1940s, after the birth of Barrow Campbell. Because he was a Squib, the Campbell’s made their home in London to be close to Hogwarts and the surrounding wizarding community but also have plenty of Muggle resources available for their son. As time went on, the Campbells merged into a successful Muggle family living amidst the hustle and bustle of London’s city community.

From a young age, the wizard was fascinated with cooking and loved experimenting with family recipes to see what would happen when he altered different steps. This would prove to get him into some trouble during his time at Hogwarts; despite being a Ravenclaw, he did not always make the wisest decisions when it came to potion making. Often, he would opt to go the more adventurous route, changing the directions slightly and therefore altering the composition of the potion. Unlike in cooking, this never paid off for Raymond. Raymond met his future wife, Eleanor, in their fifth year at Hogwarts when they both became Ravenclaw prefects together. He was immediately smitten, entranced by her fiery red hair that was uncommon at the time. It took two years, but Raymond eventually convinced Eleanor to go out on a date with him and they officially began dating in their seventh year at Hogwarts. Their relationship ended almost as quickly as it started, as Raymond had different plans for after graduation. His love for potions led him into a career as a potioneer, working as a professional brewer for St. Mungo's Hospital. One fateful day, Raymond brewed the most important potion of his life. His ex-girlfriend, Eleanor, appeared in the hospital and it was no other than Raymond who brewed the potion that saved her life. This opportunity allowed the two to reconnect after several years of focusing on their careers and they realized that it was destiny. They quickly married and not long after had their one and only child: Barrow. Raymond continued his work as a potioneer, eventually cutting back on his hours to spend more time with his son. Going against conventional norms, he played the role of "stay at home dad" while Eleanor maintained the steady work-life balance she had previously attained. The family moved to London when they found out Barrow was a Squib and settled down in the heart of the city. Raymond retired from his work and lived out his retirement exploring the city with his son. Relationship with Amadea: She never knew much about her great grandfather except that he was a successful potioneer and was in the house of Ravenclaw. The Lavoka family was a reputable Pureblood family and Eleanor was expected to uphold the family’s reputation. As a child, Eleanor was always incredibly smart and agile, much to her family’s delight. They had no worries that she would do the family name justice. When Eleanor began at Hogwarts, she was immediately sorted into the house of Ravenclaw, which made sense because of her dedication to hard work and studying. Success was always at the top of Eleanor’s list of goals; it had been ingrained in her from the beginning. During her fifth year at Hogwarts, she was promoted to the position of Prefect and she met a troublesome housemate and fellow Prefect named Raymond. As much as she suppressed it, Eleanor couldn’t help but acknowledge her immediate attraction to the young boy. Something about his recklessness was so appealing; the trope of a ‘bad boy’ exists for a reason. Raymond wasn’t really a bad boy though, he was just a normal adolescent enjoying his time at boarding school. Unfortunately, Eleanor could not spare that luxury. Her focus was on getting the best marks and preparing for her future. Her determination continuously wore down though, as she continued turning down Raymond’s advances. Finally, at the beginning of her seventh year, Eleanor gave in and began dating him, much to her parent’s chagrin. They did not approve of the Muggle born derelict their daughter had chosen to date. Perhaps this was partially why she ended their relationship when they graduated from Hogwarts. Mostly, though, it was because Eleanor dreamt of becoming an Auror and she was certainly not going to let some boy get in the way of her dreams. She would have time for love later; now was her chance to achieve the occupation of her dreams. And that she did. Eleanor loved the work she did as an Auror, though it was a dangerous line of work. She often found herself with injuries, but her most severe accident occurred about six years after her graduation. If she was being honest with herself, Eleanor never truly knew exactly what happened, but she found herself in St. Mungo’s being nursed back to health by none other than…Raymond Campbell. It had to be a sign. Eleanor allowed the universe to chart her path, quickly marrying him and wasting no time starting a family. To her family’s even worse horror (it was bad enough that she married a Muggle born), her only son was a Squib. After cutting her off entirely, Eleanor continued her work as an Auror while focusing all of her spare time on her new, chosen family. They moved to London and Eleanor eventually retired. She spent her days drinking lots of tea and learning how to cook (just to prove to Raymond she could be entirely self-sufficient if she had to be). Relationship with Amadea: Similarly to her great grandfather, Amadea only knew her great grandmother in the beginning of her life. She passed away when Amadea was seven, so she was able to spend a little more time getting to know her great grandmother, but it still wasn't that much time. Amadea idolizes her great grandmother; she was an amazing Auror and a good person at heart.

Growing up estranged from his maternal side of the family was an interesting experience for the young boy; as someone who was not completely immersed in the magical universe, he could never quite understand why the Lakovas had negative interest in meeting Barrow or learning anything about him. The loss of one extended family was made up for by the warm and opening arms that the Campbells embraced Barrow with from the moment he was born. Barrow had always been a father’s boy, perhaps because he spent the majority of his childhood with his dad, but the overwhelming love he received from his extended paternal family only helped. Being a Squib, Barrow felt torn between two worlds. It was hard knowing about the magical realm and understanding how big of an impact his parents had within that world, but also acknowledging that many of his peers in the wizarding world would never fully accept him as their own because of his own lack of magical abilities. Barrow tried not to let this faze him, pushing aside the guilt of knowing what his parents sacrificed to give him the best of both the wizarding and Muggle worlds. He received high marks in school, eventually receiving his university education at University of Oxford studying neuroscience with the goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. In his program, Barrow met a spunky woman named Angelina Spare and was immediately smitten. He enjoyed their shared interests, career goals, and life plans and not long after graduation, the two had set a wedding date. Despite their quick actions to settle down together after graduation, neither Barrow nor Angelina were interested in starting a family at the time. Barrow was interested in pursuing more career goals, but eventually their son, Raziel, was born in 1977. It was around the time when Raziel was entering middle school that Barrow discovered Angelina had been having an affair. Heartbroken, he removed himself from the neuroscience world, unable to be around the community that had caused him so much pain. This led Barrow back toward his magical side; despite not having his own magic, Barrow found himself intrigued in the ways Muggle medicinal techniques could synergize with magical healing. Of course, it helped that he had a connection with St. Mungo’s through his father, so Barrow began accompanying him to St. Mungo’s to observe the hospital in action. It was there where he met a healer by the name of Estella Atkins. Because of his frequent visits, Barrow quickly grew close with Estella, eventually opening up and sharing his entire story with her. The two married and now live happily in the countryside outside of London. Relationship with Amadea: Amadea loves her grandfather; especially after her father's passing the two of them were able to bond more and Amadea loved listening to her grandfather's stories about her father. She remembers spending many holidays with her grandfather, listening to him play his guitar while singing classic songs that he loved.

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Estella Campbell (née Atkins) Grandmother ┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛ Reducio Hufflepuff, healer Estella Atkins was born to her two loving parents, Marian and Mark Atkins, in 1944. As the youngest child of three, she enjoyed playing outside and finding leaves that she would use to “heal” her parents and her siblings when they would go on adventures. When she began at Hogwarts, she immediately found herself most attracted to potions and herbology. She stumbled onto her passion for healing during her third year at Hogwarts, which was when she learned that she could mix all of her favorite subjects and hobbies together to create the career of a Healer. She spent all of her subsequent free time in the hospital wing, observing the nurses and asking them questions (probably much to their disdain). All of her hard work paid off as she was accepted as a Healer at St. Mungo’s swiftly after her graduation from Hogwarts. Estella had been raised as an open-minded and optimistic individual, but as the years went on, she began feeling less and less optimistic that she would find the love of her life. If she was being completely honest with herself, she wasn’t entirely sure she believed in the idea of true love or a soulmate anyway. Then she met Barrow. She was immediately intrigued by the redheaded man that she saw at the hospital day in and day out, not interfering but observing. As he continued to watch, he became more bold, asking employees questions. Slowly, Estella began putting herself in the same room as him, as her curiosity was becoming overwhelming. Eventually, Barrow and Estella began talking as she worked her shifts and she found him to be the most unique and interesting person she had ever met. She loved his drive and determination to learn more about magical healing while complimenting it with his own knowledge. And the rest was history, as the saying went. Intertwining her life with Barrow’s was something Estella was nervous about, but she found that it was less difficult than she was anticipating. Estella immediately loved Barrow’s son, Raziel, and while balancing her commitment to her work while also integrating into the Muggle world with the Campbells was a challenge, for the Campbell boys Estella would do just about anything. After Raziel's death, Estella finally retired from her work at St. Mungo's and currently resides with her husband in the countryside outside of London. Relationship with Amadea: Amadea looks up to her step-grandmother almost as much as her great grandmother. As a Healer at St. Mungo's, Amadea admires how selfless she was and always worked hard to do the most for people. She admires how Estella always saw the best in people and managed to be optimistic through almost anything, kind of like Amadea herself.

As an only child, he was doted on by both of his parents. Because of Barrow’s history with the wizarding world, he found himself more attached to his mom. When Raziel was in middle school, it was exposed that his mother was having an affair. Devastated that his parents were divorcing, Raziel felt conflicted about how to traverse this new dynamic. As much as he loved both of his parents, he couldn’t help but feel large amounts of resentment toward his mother because of her actions. It felt like the last decade had been a facade, a fake image of a perfect family that was shattered. It didn’t help that his mother moved out of the city and traveling between the two for custody was very inconvenient for him. By his senior year of high school, Raziel had cut off contact with his mother because of the turmoil his relationship with her brought him. Once he reached university, Raziel had realized that his goal in life was to become a lawyer, specifically to work on cases similar to his own where children and custody were involved. In law school, he met Raina Cosner, a driven and witty woman. He found himself drifting toward her in class, intentionally sitting near her so they would be grouped together for projects and he could have an excuse to spend time with her. After university, Raziel and some of his classmates opened their own law firm together (Campbell & Co.); one of those people was Raina. Once they had successfully taken their business off of the ground, Raziel and Raina logically made the decision that they could adequately support themselves, quickly getting engaged and married later that year. Their family grew in 2003 with the birth of their eldest daughter, Katerina. Their second daughter soon followed in 2006. Raziel loved being a father of two girls, and he cherished the time they spent together in London growing up. Coming from a broken home, the last thing Raziel wanted to do was repeat this cycle with his own daughters. Unfortunately, as the girls grew up, the tension between Raziel and Raina only mounted. They were constantly fighting and did not want to subject their daughters to the toxicity that was brewing in their small apartment. Ultimately, they made the decision to file for divorce, but remained on civil terms and were able to work out an amicable agreement for custody (after all, they were both lawyers). Raziel stayed in London as head of Campbell and Co. until November of 2020 when he tragically passed away in a car accident. Relationship with Amadea: Amadea and her father had a wonderful relationship for their entire lives; while there was arguing, of course, as no family never argues, Amadea and her father were quite close. When she was growing up, he was always right there beside her, helping her with her sprained ankle or patching up a scraped knee. He always played marbles with her or when it was nice out, would push her on the swing set. When Amadea's father passed away, it broke her heart. She would feel his presence watching over her for the rest of her life.

Katerina lived as an only child for the first three years of her life before her younger sister, Amadea, was born. Even though the girls had entirely different complexions, Kat and Amadea were immediately bonded at the hip and the close bond they had was often likened to that of twins. Kat was never unhappy about having a little sister or having to share the spotlight; from the moment her sister was born, Kat was ecstatic to have someone to go through life with. As the eldest, she felt a sort of self-imposed pressure to set a good example for her younger sister and would often criticize herself for not being the perfect role model. Despite this, Kat always tried to remain upbeat, refusing to let Amadea worry about her. The two often goofed off together, along with their younger cousin Jakoby who lived with them. They would sing together, make up entire plays to perform for their parents and belt out songs wherever they went. In middle school, Kat joined the local swim team, quickly becoming one of the best and joining the elite team in no time. When Amadea received her Hogwarts letter and went off to school, it was a huge struggle for Kat. She felt like she was losing her sister and she was trying to balance the sadness with the overwhelming jealousy she felt that Amadea’s future seemed so much brighter and more interesting than her own. She felt like Amadea was now a step ahead in life, which was an adjustment when Kat was used to being the one to forge the way for the two of them. Not only that, but Amadea’s first year at Hogwarts was Kat’s first year of high school, which was a huge transition. Not only did she not have her sister, but she was in an entirely new environment. On top of all of that, she was home alone to feel the tension in the house with her fighting parents and not knowing what to do about it. Kat fell into a deep depression, dropping out of all of her school activities and pushing away everyone close to her for a long time. Isolation became a necessity and then eventually, the only option. After the divorce was finalized and her parents could focus more time on other things than their failed marriage, they quickly noticed the change in Kat’s demeanor and helped her receive the care she needed. After months of intensive therapy, Kat’s life was beginning to move in a positive direction. She was able to open up to Amadea about her struggles, understanding that the title of being “older sister” was more nuanced than simply being a role model and protecting Amadea from every bad thing in life. Their sisterhood took on a new maturity from this point and Kat felt more at peace than she ever had before. She rejoined the swim team as well as an audition-only choral group. Kat’s current endeavor is working on planning for her future: university and her aspirations for careers. Relationship with Amadea: Amadea and Kat are two peas in a pod; despite having a terrible argument that lasted for almost all of Amadea's first year at Hogwarts, the two sisters are joined at the hip. Amadea tells Kat everything and vice versa; especially now with dealing with the tragedy of their father's death, Amadea relies on her older sister and, at the same time, tries to be the shoulder that her sister can cry on.

After adopting Stella, they hadn't planned on having any more kids and expanding their family. However, they embraced Emma with open arms when she came; the youngest Cosner and second biological child, Emma always tried to be the perfect daughter. She studied hard and received high marks in all of her classes and participated in all of the clubs at school. She always figured Stella caused enough trouble for all four sisters and tried to quietly keep to the side as much as possible. When Emma was fifteen, she met the boy who she thought was the love of her life. Her parents were not fond of dying at such a young age, so she kept it a secret, becoming a different person with her new secret. When she was seventeen, she found out she was pregnant. Panicking, she told her boyfriend who subsequently told her to get an abortion and dumped her, leaving her on her own. Emma struggled with what to do for a long time; she knew her parents would not approve. Her oldest sister, Raina, eventually found her pregnancy test and helped her through the entire pregnancy. Astra and Finn kicked Emma out of the house when they found out she was pregnant and Emma went to live with her older sister, Raina. Despite all of the hardships, Emma was able to make a life for herself and her son, Jakoby, with a lot of help from Raina and the rest of her family. She and Jake now reside at the Cosner residence in Camberley, England. Emma is currently enrolled in graduate school and working three jobs. Relationship with Amadea: Amadea has a lot of respect for her Aunt Emma; even though she was shamed by her family and her parents kicked her out of the house, she was resilient and was able to build a life for her and Jake. Amadea is aware that their life is not nearly as perfect as her own, and whenever she is with her Aunt Emma she is reminded to be grateful for everything she has. She loves Aunt Emma and wishes that her grandparents would find it in their hearts to forgive her; the birth of Jake was not a mistake.

His mother, Emma, provided for him as best she could, working multiple jobs and saving as much as possible. Because she was so busy, Jake spent much of his childhood at his Aunt Raina's house, with his cousins Amadea and Katerina. Amadea was only a year older than him and Kat only four, so the trio got along well, playing together and having fun. From a young age, Jake learned to be appreciative of what they had. He knew many people in the world had it much worse off than he did, despite the many times when they would reach the end of the month without having cable or heat because of unpaid bills. Money being tight caused Jake and his mother much stress throughout their entire lives; while Raina tried to help as much as possible, Jake's grandparents were quite conservative and disproved of Jake being born out of wedlock. Therefore, they did not do much to help Emma out. Currently, Jake is enrolled at public school in Camberley, England where he lives with his mother, his aunt, and his cousin. Relationship with Amadea: Because Jake spent so much of his childhood with Amadea, she felt like he was the brother she never had. They grew up together, and because they were only a year apart in age, they also went through the different age stages together. Even though they are cousins, Amadea feels like Jake is her little brother and will protect him at all costs.

THROUGH THICK AND THIN | The phrase "blood is thicker than water" in reference to one's family is not always completely accurate. For Amadea, she has close family friends who are not directly related to her but she still considers them family. Because of their central role in shaping Amadea into the person she is today, she considers all of these people family and would do anything for them through thick and thin.

Slowly, Amadea opened up to her and now Amadea has grown to even be fond of the woman, though she still feels hesitant because she can't share her magical life with Dr. Sherman.

BEFORE HOGWARTS

Amadea Ellery Campbell was born on June 17th, 2006 in London, England to her two loving parents, Raina and Raziel Campbell. The two were ecstatic to have another daughter to raise. As a baby, Amadea was fairly quiet. She almost never cried and was very compliant. From a young age, she loved to play around with instruments and played the piano (though not well). Amadea and her sister, Katerina, were inseparable from the moment Amadea was born. Amadea would play the piano while Kat sang a song, and she took after her sister in many ways. When Kat joined the swim team, so did Amadea. When Kat learned a new instrument, Amadea learned it as well. Although the two girls had very similar interests, Amadea had a very different personality from Kat. While her sister was very outgoing and loved to take risks and go on adventures, Amadea was must more shy and reserved. Even having many of the same interests, the girls showed clear differences in personality.

Amadea attended Dallington School with her sister until the fourth grade. Up until that point, Amadea had enjoyed school but there were two girls in her grade that bullied her for her looks, her quiet demeanor, and everything in between. Scarlett Leigh and Kate Quinn were the queen bees of Dallington, and Amadea was their target. While the bullying was only one of the many reasons Amadea dropped out, it was one of the bigger reasons. She was homeschooled up until she received her Hogwarts letter.

Being homeschooled allowed Amadea to spend a lot of time with her family; while her sister spent her day at school Amadea spent the day with her younger cousin Jakoby while they were homeschooled by Raina and Raziel. It was not an easy task, as both Raina and Raziel had jobs and Aunt Emma was trying to make enough money to make ends meet. However, it somehow worked, and Amadea spent many hours every day with her family. She became very close with her cousin, Jakoby (Jake), who was only a year younger than her. Being home so much also allowed her family to notice some peculiar tendencies that happened when Amadea was around. Occasionally, her books that were at the other end of the room would suddenly appear right in front of her on the table when her parents told her to prepare for the school day. Sometimes she would be working on something and the words seemed to just disappear for a second or two before coming back as they were before. Amadea wrote all of these things off as little coincidences and flukes of her brain; she was definitely just imagining things.

Then she received her Hogwarts letter. Prior to receiving the letter, Amadea had no idea of the Wizarding world. Soon, she found out that her grandparents on her father’s side were quite involved with it. While she had always assumed that her grandmother was away because of her job (which was true) she didn’t know that Estella was at St. Mungo’s, healing sick wizards and witches and caring for those who couldn’t be healed. She didn’t know that Barrow was a Squib who helped Estella as much as he could without being able to perform any magic himself. She received a letter from her great-grandmother, Eleanor Lakova who was the last person blood related to her to be a witch; Amadea loved her great-grandmother and she felt like this connection brought them closer together. However, the news that Amadea was a witch wasn’t something that was only a positive moment. It caused a huge fight between Amadea and her sister, Kat, which lasted through the entirety of her first year at Hogwarts. Kat was struggling to accept that Amadea was no longer following in her footsteps, she could no longer protect her little sister and they couldn’t spend as much time together as they did before. This transition was too much for Kat, piled on top of the jealousy that she wasn’t magical herself, and the two had it out at each other. Amadea was angry because she felt like Kat didn’t understand where she was coming from; it wasn’t like Amadea could control whether or not she was a witch. Plus, she was sad about having to leave home for such a long period of time to go somewhere that she had never been before with a bunch of people she had never met before. It was fair to say that when Amadea entered her first year at Hogwarts, she did not have the best mindset and was not looking forward to it. However, her expectations were quickly broken and she had a blast during her first year.

FIRST YEAR

Amadea entered Hogwarts a scared and shy person. Because she was Muggle born, she had no idea what she was about to get herself into; she had no previous knowledge of the wizarding world except knowing that her great grandmother was a witch. When she first arrived at Hogwarts, she was quickly overwhelmed by the amount of people at the castle. She was sorted into the house of Hufflepuff, which she first found to be unfitting of her personality. While all of her fellow Housemates were quite energetic and outgoing, Amadea felt like she would rather sit by the fire and read a good book.

As her first year progressed, Amadea began to meet more people, soon evolving into close friendships. Ami Procoppio and Kyden Goodlow became some of her first friends; Kyden helped her through her fear of flying and Ami perfectly contrasted Amadea’s introverted goody-two-shoed-ness. Ami was the reason Amadea went on many of the adventures she partook in during her first year (and the years to come), including one scarring incidence involving the passageways and...rats. Amadea also found a few friends in the Ravenclaw house; Adam Harringtom and Cecily Quinn walked in on her one day when she had spilled some ink on the floor of a classroom. The three cleaned up the mess together and then proceeded to team up for many of the events to come, always having an awesome name. She also made some other good friends, including Rhea Bishop and Mia Alexander.

Though there was much good that happened during her first year, Amadea also had her fair share of scarring experiences. The recurrence of fire (literally) scarred Amadea for the years to come; there was the incident where Rhea Bishop accidentally pushed Amadea into Devil’s Snare and then burned the poor Hufflepuff as she tried to cast Incendio at the plant. Then, of course, there was the infamous BlossomBall where Charles York set fire and ruined the whole night for everyone. Other scarring incidents include the Lock-In, where Amadea teamed up with Anatole Evans and John Johns to form the Huffrindors (with a team chant and all!). Despite her awesome team, they still had a horrible time. One couldn’t forget the Masked Figure, either! Amadea and Serena Towers were sitting at the BlossomBall bonfire when they spotted the masked figure through the smoke...but thought nothing of it. She then formed a group with many of the other third years to try and figure out who exactly the masked figure was, to no avail. Eventually, the Masked Figure was unmasked, though, and Amadea could breathe safely again. The last formative scarring experience during Amadea’s first year was the Great Lake. Early on, she fell into the lake trying to help Marybelle Blackwell out of the water. Then, she and Cecily Quinn were strolling by when Alexander Cloverfield ran by them, engulfed in flames, and went straight into the water. And of course, there was the time Cecily, Ami, and Amadea took a walk to the Great Lake and saw an eerie creature looking back at them. Despite all of these scarring experiences, Amadea managed to have an amazing first year at Hogwarts and formed many friendships she would carry on to the next year.

SUMMER 2018
Amadea attended summer camp at Hogwarts where she met some more new friends and bonded with Serena Towers. She also was promoted to being a Prefect. Once returning home from summer camp, though, things went downhill. She came back home to a family that had been split apart; throughout her first year she had not received any mail from her mother, father, or sister (though she and her sister were in an argument for the entirety of Amadea's first year) because they were having trouble at home. Amadea's parents decided it would be best for them to split up and file for a divorce; Amadea's mother went to live in Camberley, England with the rest of her family while her father kept their apartment in London. On the bright side, Amadea brought Cecily Quinn to London for a week during the summer. The Irish girl had never been to a city before and Amadea had a blast showing her around London.

SECOND YEAR

Amadea began her second year as giddy and excited as ever. After finally having adjusted to her life at Hogwarts, she had no problem delving into the fun as soon as her second year began. She had been promoted to the role of Prefect and made many new connections and friendships through the many duties she had. During her second year, Amadea helped to revamp the dorm system and make sure that every student had a place to call home.

Of course, not everything went perfectly smoothly during Amadea’s second year. After all, it was Hogwarts so things always went awry. As soon as she arrived back at the castle, she and the rest of the Hufflepuffs, were sent on a very mysterious trip with their Head of House, Professor Lear. The Hufflepuffs had no idea what was going on, especially not the fact that Lear was attempting to kidnap them. Fortunately, they were all returned to the castle (mainly) unscathed.

During her second year, Amadea was able to strengthen many of her friendships with her friends, forming close connections with Ami Procoppio and Cecily Quinn. She also was able to participate in more events with Adam Harringtom and Cecily Quinn, establishing themselves as the most a-maze-ing team there was. She was also able to meet a boatload of new people, whether it was running into them in an abandoned classroom (how she met Cecily Queen) or at one of the Oktoberfest events, where she met Elijah Huang and Bloom Silverton. Overall, Amadea's second year at Hogwarts was a smashing success and was far less scarring and dangerous than her first year. Perhaps it was because she knew what to expect and found the daily surprises at Hogwarts less surprising or perhaps it was because she felt more in control now that she held the position of prefect, but Amadea thoroughly enjoyed herself during her second year. She also purchased a new companion: her beautiful owl Nova. Nova was one of the highlights of Amadea's second year at Hogwarts; she couldn't imagine life without the companion once she and Nova met.

SUMMER 2019
Amadea opted to not go to summer camp this summer, as she felt like she had spent such a wonderful year with her classmates and new friends. She missed her family and decided to go spend the entire summer with them. She spent the beginning of her summer with her father in London and ended the summer with her mother and the rest of her family in Camberley.

THIRD YEAR

As all years did, Amadea's third year started out spectacularly well. She was excited to spend the year starting to learn new things, especially with the new elective classes that were being offered to her. She was excited to go on more adventures with her friends and bond with more people. Unfortunately, a wrench was thrown into Amadea’s plans when she received a letter from back home. Amadea returned to Camberley in early November at the news that her father had passed away. Shocked and overcome with grief, Amadea put her studies on hold to grieve with her family and work through the pain of her father’s death.

Grief was something Amadea had never experienced before and she eventually sought out counseling from Dr. Hallee Sherman. Although wary of the woman at first, Amadea found herself opening up to Dr. Sherman in a way she never had opened up before; she was a kindred spirit after all, in the grief department. Even though Amadea felt as though the world had been tipped off its axis and was unsure if it could ever be righted again, she had regained hope.

In April, Amadea felt ready to go back to school. In the past few months, she had begun receiving her assignments by owl and completed as much as she could. Still, it was not the same as being back at Hogwarts. Amadea, convinced she could handle the full rigor of life at school, returned to Scotland to resume her schooling. She threw herself back into the schedule of learning, reuniting with her two best friends, Ami Procoppio and Cecily Quinn and quickly learning to stay away from Ami’s cat Leo. As if trying to distract herself from the feelings that plagued her during the night, Amadea busied herself during the day participating in errands and catching up with her schoolwork. She took it upon herself to become the new leader of the Gobstones Club that had become quite inactive after the past leader had left. With the help of Cecily, Amadea helped to organize a round of gobstones matches.

Amadea was able to form some new friendships during her third year, despite being gone for so long. All of the distraction from her pain was greeted by new faces whether it be the friendly Gryffindors Anastasia Beckett and Alan Vanes or her housemate Willow Anderson. Despite all of the distraction, though, Amadea’s feelings sometimes still made their way to the surface. Her daily walks around the Hogwarts grounds helped her keep her emotions in check, but sometimes they needed to come boiling over. Thankfully, Scott Alexander was there for Amadea at her worst and Professor Maya Galim offered Amadea assistance during her breakdown.

At the end of her third year, Amadea made a promise to herself. She was finally beginning to feel like herself again - or she was beginning to feel more alive at least. She was beginning to realize that there was no “going back” to who she was before her father passed away. She was no longer the girl she used to be and she was going to have to be okay with that. Whoever this new version of Amadea was, she had to accept and be okay with. That was why she promised herself she would try to be more involved and meet new people and simply enjoy whatever life threw at her. Life was short, after all, and Amadea was determined to enjoy it for as long as she could.

SUMMER 2020
Amadea attended summer camp, which was a little different this year. It was her first time being back in London after her father passed away, which was something she tried not to think too much about. Fortunately, there was much to do during summer camp that allowed her to keep her mind off that. She bunked with her new group of best friends: Ami, Cecily, Adam, and Scott. Unfortunately, Ami and Scott were in the middle of a terrible argument and tensions within their tent were quite high. Amadea also participated in many events, like the Chess Combat game, the water fight, and the stargazing trip where she and Cecily had a girl’s night.

FOURTH YEAR

In contrast to the first three years, Amadea’s fourth year at Hogwarts had a somewhat rocky start. After spending the summer in London, her identity crisis had hit a peak at the beginning of the school year that led her to a full blown breakdown right at the start of September. Lizzie Verdine found Amadea freaking out in the bathroom and helped her dye her hair blond (of course because blondes have more fun) and Amadea felt endlessly thankful for the Ravenclaw girl’s assistance; there was no way she could have made it look good without Lizzie’s help.

Despite being a fourth year, there were still new people for Amadea to meet/people for her to get to know better, including Falentra Black and Aurelia Notresvace. She had a funny encounter with Dealla Prince and Maria Dee, both with similar nicknames to her own, and the three bonded over their shared names. Unfortunately, not all of her interactions were positive, as seen in her meeting with Caelen Stewart and Jackson Lockwood. Amadea stumbled upon a notebook in the library and when she went to return it, there was a misunderstanding about her taking it rather than finding it. She also found herself in some trouble with the infamous Slytherin prefect Ruby Cazares. For some reason, the snake had decided Amadea was going to be at the top of her hit list and Amadea had recruited her two best friends Ami and Cecily to come with her to confront Ruby. Unfortunately, things spiraled out of control with Ruby and Xailah attacking the trio, leaving Amadea no choice but to defend herself. In the kerfuffle, Ami ended up taking the brunt of the attack leaving her unconscious. Definitely not the highlight of Amadea’s fourth year.

With the newfound confidence Amadea gained from her new hair color, she participated in the field day events including the sponge pass, which she obviously won. She also participated in a game of Tug of War against the professors (which was certainly…interesting). Field day was only the beginning of school sanctioned events Amadea participated in. She joined the dueling team, teamed up with her fellow captain Lydia Cooper. The two started the year out strong and were able to win their first duel. She also moderated a duel for the first time. Despite the history with fire and balls, Amadea attended the Fall Ball at Hogwarts, convinced by her friend Delilah Stewart and Frost Cira.

As safe as Hogwarts normally felt, there were still instances that made Amadea question whether it was the safest place in the world. During her fourth year, she found herself locked in the Hufflepuff common room with nary an explanation, leaving her with a sinking feeling in her chest not to mention no answers. Then, of course, there was the Sinterklaas incident with her fellow Hufflepuffs. Poor Hufflepuffs, honestly.

Amadea was able to distract herself with some celebration, though. The group of fourth years decided to plan a get together to catch up and go to the Three Broomsticks, which Amadea thought was a great idea. She was able to bond with Ami and Cecily for an errand where they started a fire (how they convinced Amadea this would be fun is still a mystery to this day). She also was pranked by Ami and Cecily to sign up for the Valentine’s Day activity where she was paired up with Glen Pope, Serena Towers, and Rosalie Rutherford.
